hi all!

it's been over a month since i interacted here at all, so i figured i'd let you guys know everything that's going on at the moment...

i've settled into my job nicely, and i'm really enjoying being able to play piano regularly again (especially on a grand!). i've learnt and relearnt enough music to fill a 3 hour set since i started, and i'm trying to develop it and make it more entertaining all the time!

of the days i'm not working, i'm spending most of them at emma's place because we're looking for a place to move into together in the next month or so, and she still has exams so i'm there offering as much support as i can *-*b

this combination of things has left me bereft of time and inspiration for actually writing/recording stuff, which is why you haven't seen much of me! i'm hoping this will stabilise a bit by the end of september, once i'm in our new place and i have access to my keyboard every day, but until then i'm kind of all over the place xD

the maple leaf rag by scott joplin, i'm just about finished learning it and it's the hardest piece of music i've learnt in a long time! this is the best recording i could find quickly, but i prefer playing it with swung quavers!

long time no see!

i'm all finished with my undergraduate (msci physics), now. i'll be graduating officially with first class honours (the highest on the UK classification) on the 8th of july!

i also managed to secure a job playing piano in a hotel lobby for the summer! i'm possibly starting on sunday, so i need to very quickly rebuild a repertoire, haha (they're expecting ~2hr sets)

not going to open commissions for a while yet, i really need to focus on learning a lot of music quickly so that my sets aren't repetitive, haha... also feeling a little uninspired right now composition wise, but that may be because i've been away from it since easter.

so yeah, this has been an update on my life at the moment *-*b

i'm not going to taking any more commissions for now - i start the final term of my degree in a week so i'll be spending the next few weeks away from my keyboard, and also working pretty heavily on my dissertation.

thanks for the experience, everyone - i've done the first original composition work that i've done in about 4 years because of this. i'm happy with the work that i've done, and i'm excited to come back and do more!

i may reopen towards the end of june (mostly depending on when i decide to return home), i'll keep you updated though!

i'm sorry i haven't had chance to be on here as much as i'd like! my project supervisor at uni goes away on maternity leave after next week so i've been cramming in as much of my project work as i can before she leaves...

i also begin my easter break next week, so i'll be back home with my piano then also! i'll probably be working with my fiancée a lot during that time, and i'll let you guys know more about what i'm doing in due course ^^

in the meantime, thanks so much for watching - i'm a little taken aback by how many people are watching me for what little content i have ;u;

hello friends!

i was planning to sort a bunch of stuff out this week, but i left my laptop charger at my fiancée's place... so i'm limited to what i can do on my tablet until the weekend :s
