Posted 14 years agoI am in need of yarn for latch hooking. In order to do more lavish commissions and projects I need more yarn. So if you have extra yarn you no longer need or can spare $2.50 so I can go over to walmart and get my own colors that would be really helpful. That is all I really want for Christmas along with the hope that everyone gets what they want.

MFF Con Report
Posted 14 years agoIt's almost 3am on Monday and I am in my comfy spot on the couch back home meaning MFF 11 is over. I am happy to be home where I eat real food, be warm, and sleep in my huge bed. Man those tiny beds sucked! But now is the time for me to write down my con report to share with all of you what I did and saw.
THURSDAY:
Thursday morning around 1am we woke up and did some last minute packing before heading to the bus station in St. Paul around 3am. The bus didn't leave till 6:20am, but we wanted to go to Walmart and I was being prepared for traffic. Even at 3am in the morning there can be a lot of cars. It's the Twin Cities for crying out loud. So anyway after a few hours waiting in the car the bus shows up and we head out. 9 hours later, and a lot of napping, we arrive at the Cumberland Ave. Station where our friend, Rich, is waiting to pick us up. For once I was scared of small places because of how we piled into that car.
We arrived at the hotel around 4pm and got situated in our room. Registration didn't start till 7 so I started to wander around and get my bearings of the hotel. After registration which, thank god didn't take that long our friend, Admiral was nice enough to treat, Stryker and I to dinner at the little bar inside the hotel. I got to try Tampura Shrimp, Wasabi, Tuna Caviar and Fried Kalamari (sp). It was really good. Stryker had the chili.
After dinner and some more running around I tried to suit for a bit, but after an uncomfortable ride on the bus the head put too much strain on my shoulders so I could only do it for an hour or so. Then I curled up on a dinky bed and went to sleep.
FRIDAY:
Friday was full of fun for me. It started off with Opening Ceremonies; which was quick, simple, and to the point. I meet some new friends and even helped one of them come up with their name and species. I feel so special. Don't know if any of them have FA. But I was so glad to meet all of them.
At 4pm was the first MLP: FIM Brony Meet. It was so much fun. We had polls, got to share our feelings on why we enjoy the show, and helped create a con brony. There was also a raffle, but I didn't win anything that time. Oh well.
Between ponies and other activities I strolled through Dealer's Den and said hi to the sellers. I didn't buy anything, but my business card collection got a lot bigger.
At 7pm was Uncle Kage's Story Hour. He told some stories of why he was hurting at AC and it was pretty funny. But, I have to admit that I had a lot more fun at 2's Rant. Apparently, he became the overlord of the world and shared his rules of the new planet, Shatner. Don't ask. I had to tape it to show to my roommate. Following 2 I got some food at the consuite before Whose's Lion is it Anyway. That also turned out to be a lot of fun. I had never been so dehydrated and headachy in my life. Thank god for water.
SATURDAY:
Saturday was my fursuiting day. I started out with the Fursuit photos. I can't wait to see the photos and add them to my page. Then after the photoshoot I wondered around for a bit before the parade. Got something to eat and had to refill my water bottle multiple times, because I was so warm in my suit. As a free give away we got free bandanas. At one point I misplaced mine, but they had extras thank goodness.
During the parade I assisted a very cute, but frightened coyote along the route as he held onto my tail. It was warm in the hotel, but it was awesome when we finally got outside for the big group picture. That felt so nice.
After the Parade was Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. A performance where the actors try to act out 30 plays in 60 minutes. They managed to do it and I even got to be in two of the plays. One where I had to pick a card, say I loved it, then say goodbye and never see it again. Why did I think of my mate? I don't want him to go away,
After that was a MLP: FIM encore panel. It cut into the variety show, but this time during the raffle I won something. I won a brony.com shirt. Only thing was it was one you had to pay $5 for. I mentioned I didn't have any money and the guy said we could discuss it later. After the panel I got in line to get my shirt and one of the other bronies who had been sitting next to me came up to me and handed me $5. He said "Enjoy the power of friendship" and walked off. I actually started to cry at this act of kindness and happily got my new Rainbow Dash colored "This is a Cutie Mark not a Tramp Stamp" shirt. I was so excited and touched.
I caught the very end of the Variety Show and took time to wonder around before going to Midnight Howl. That was also fun. I always enjoy a good long howl.
SUNDAY:
Woke up and packed up our stuff to be out of the room by 12. Rich was nice enough to give us some money to take a taxi to the bus station in Downtown Chicago. We got there and waited a bit for the bus to leave at 3:30pm. On the way home we stopped in Milwaukee, where my Dad, Mom, Grandma, and Brother were there to see us. I'm originally from Milwaukee and since we couldn't stay for Thanksgiving this was just a quick hello before we were on the road again.
Pretty uneventful trip except for meeting another fur on the bus who got off in Milwaukee. It's just good being home and able to sleep in my own bed again. Hope you enjoyed my story. Good night everyone.

Watching Princess Diaries and
Posted 14 years agoAwaiting the moment we go to the bus station. In less than 24 hours we will be arriving in Chicago and then heading to O'Hare to be at MFF '11. I am so freaking excited. I get to see all my furry friends, get to debut my new suit and just get to have fun. I can't spend money, but if I can take back a ton of pictures and great memories I will be happy. Hope to see all of you there.

I will be at MFF 11
Posted 14 years agoMy mate and I will be at MFF 11 this year. We will be arriving on Thursday and I have no idea what our room is or what time we will be arriving there. All I know is I will 5 of my Rainbow Patches and 5 of my "CENSOR" patches to sell and promote my other designs. I would be showing off the wall hang, but I managed to sell it at the furmeet this weekend. Yay, Stryker will be able to get his tooth extracted.
I will also have my Xavakin fursuit and will be participating in the fursuit parade. Sadly, I am too out of shape to participate in the fursuit games. Maybe next year.
I also hope next year I can do enough latch hook pieces to open a booth in Artist's Alley or Dealer's Den. That would be really cool, because I would like to make this a full time business. My Apartment building has openings.
Posted 14 years agoMy apartment complex Timberland Valley has 5 open apartments; 4 2-Bedrooms and 1 1-Bedroom. If we help her fill these apartments with people we know we get $300 in rent credit. Shakopee is a great place to live. We have Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Kohl's, Cub Foods, and dozen of places to eat within reach of the apartment building. We also have Canturbary Park, Valleyfair, Murphy's Landing, Renn. Faire, and Mystic Lake Resort and Casino. All of the schools are relatively nearby. And it's not that far to get to dentist, doctor, and hospital.
For a 1-Bedroom if you sign a 12 month lease you can take $300 off first month's rent and pay $787 or it will be $762 a month without the $300 dollars off. The one bedroom will be ready to rent in December,
For a 2-Bedroom if you sign a 12 month lease you can take $300 off first month's rent and pay $875 or it will be $850 a month without the $300 dollars off. Most of the 2-Bedrooms are already ready.

OMFG Report
Posted 14 years agoI have blisters GAH!!!!! But man did I have fun. I spent a good portion of the event in suit so I didn't take any pics myself, but I know I was in quite a few of them. Was rather bummed I couldn't go swimming, but I still sat by the pool and chatted. Thanks to 
Kae_Kiama I ended up leaving with a wet butt. And my idea for a costume turned out working really well so I happy with that. I was glad we were able to attend after all. And to all my new and old friends, I love you. Hope to see you all soon.

Posted 14 years agoTurns out Stryker and I will be at OMFG after all. The big reason was we didn't have the money to go, but with a little help with money we are now able to come and be apart of the festivities. I can't wait to see everyone and be a part of the fun.

Badge Commission open for MFF
Posted 14 years agoOffering to do badges to be hand delivered at MFF 11. Car payments took a bit of our money to pay for our hotel room. Everything else is paid for and we could recover it slowly over the next three paychecks, but I am offering badges to help us along a little faster.
I am going to be doing a bunch of blank badges of multiple species and offer them up to be inked, colored in your characters colors, and laminated for $10.
Or you can have me custom design and ink, color, and lamination for $15 dollars.

Posted 14 years agoI am going to say this once and one time only, because it has become a big issue lately. Whether you are my friend I have known for years and are saying it to be silly or you are someone who is actually doing it to hurt my feelings I will react the same way to either of you should you call me Turkey. My name is Turka, but many people thought it would be funny to throw Turkey in there somewhere. At the beginning I thought this was not a big deal, but when someone used that name to get a reaction I made it a promise that I would snap at anyone who thought they would use this name for a quick giggle.
My real name got teased for so many years that I made it a goal that my fur name would not befall the same fate. I treasure this name and I will not have people ruin it for me by using a really annoying joke. And if any of my close friends or my mate hear you say this name in regard to me they will also not take kindly to this.

Posted 14 years agoMy first event went very well. All of those who attended told me they had a wonderful time and would love to see this be an annual event. Even though it was a little cold and really foggy from the countless fog machines the time spent with friends was very enjoyable. The only sad part was at the end when 
TheSonicGod managed to hurt himself while trying to catch up to some other friends on the ride Renegade. He failed to notice a step and came crashing down on his knee. Then while trying to get him into the car one of our bowling balls slammed into his ankle by accident. Luckily, he is resting on the couch, so we will keep and eye on him.
The attractions at Valley Scare are interesting and creative, but I am glad to say the only time I really got scare was in the clown one and whenever I got disoriented by fog and strobe lights. If you have problems with any of these two haunted house tricks don't go into the haunted houses you have been warned. A lot of the normal ValleyFair rides were open, so we went on High Roller a few times, Tilt-a-Whirl, the Scrambler, Antique Autos, and Mad Mouse.
Fun was had by all and my favorite haunted attraction had to be Camp Kiwalou. (I think I spelled that right). A neat little outdoor area with a couple of buildings set up to represent a camp. It was one of the two that had a guy with a chainsaw...scary.
So yeah it was a good time and I hope to see more of you at the event next year.

Posted 14 years agoNow don't get me wrong I care for my friends dearly and want nothing more than to help them, but lately it feels like I am attracting a lot of unwanted drama lately. For some people their issues are really important, but it is the people who just flat out complain and then make excuses when someone gives them advice is just annoying. Plus because my mate doesn't want to be involved in drama I really have no one else to talk to about it. So for that reason alone I really am sick of hearing about it. But of course, because I care, more and more of it will continue to come. Stryker and I finally took care of our own drama and stress, but yeah I'm just ranting at this point and getting my feelings down about all this. So just know that I care, but please try and keep drama and your complaining to yourself.

Posted 14 years agoSeptember 5th, 2011 marks the 2 year anniversary of the day I moved in with my mate, transfan1. It also marks the day I moved away from home and began the journey to become a more independent and responsible adult. All I can say is even though I had Stryker's guidance and love it has been one hell of a long ride so far. I learned a lot of important things: how to take care of bills and finances, how to recover after someone robs you (someone stole our car battery), how to properly care for my home (still working on that one, but I'm getting better) how to deal with roommates, and how to be a good friend.
I have said hello and goodbye to many wonderful people and some have even surprised me by coming back. Especially when I found out
farellemoon decided to come back after 2 years away. She left not long after I came in and it was a shame to see her go. I have to say it, but I love having her back, I needed some more girls to hang out with. No offense to my guy friends, but I have few girls to hang out with, so having one more always makes me feel good inside. *Hugs everyone*
Coming up on Saturday is the picnic and I pray that it's nice out, but good for fursuiting. I can't wait to be outside and just run around and be silly. So yeah get to see and meet a bunch of people and play some volleyball. I'll be sore forever.

I learned a very important lesson
Posted 14 years agoDon't try and be a surprise to a furry meet unless you have told at least one person. I came back home to Milwaukee for a visit, because my mom missed both me and Stryker. I wasn't sure of what was going on so I didn't tell any of the other furs in town I was coming back. But then I found out it would be okay for both of us to go over to Denny's and we decided to be a surprise. People showed up which means we made a ton of new friends and even got to see 
mintybunny again. But none of the regular people showed up. I was a little bummed by this, because I could have easily told people we would be there. But like I said I wasn't sure what was going on until last minute. So yeah in the future I will make sure to make a note that I will be in town next time.

Posted 14 years agoSo nobody was able to make Derby Days or Valleyfair which is really disappointing. So I guess I'll just have to plan to do Valleyfair some other time this summer. Give me a shout out if you are interested in going someday. It will be 41.99 including tax. What days are good for you and we'll see what we can do.
In a tough debat (Concerning Derby Days)
Posted 14 years agoTurns out that since I got a go for going to Valleyfair over Derby Days the event will be going to Valleyfair instead. If anyone else is interested in going with us we'll be going around 5 so the ticket price will be 24.99 instead of 41.99 for the day. Pool closes at 8pm and the park closes at 10pm so the sun will have gone down and there will still be 5 hours to play and have fun. Hope to get some more interested. Plus if you come to our house and come in our van you won't have to pay for parking. Yay carpooling. So if you are interested note me before 4pm tomorrow. Hope to see some more people.
