Xmas Wish List
Posted 11 years agoI have many posts about this and thought why not.
STEP ONE
# Make a post to your journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a christmas icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
# Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
# Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
# You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Here's my list:
1. To fulfill a friend's wish.
2. Spend the holiday with both my family in Vermont and my family in Florida
3. For my father to call me for a change, instead of I being the one to call him during holidays/birthdays
4. To be able to decorate or have a decorated tree in my apartment.
5. To spend time with friends and loved ones.
6. For friends and loved ones to have a good holiday and a safe and fun winter.
7. Christmas Cards or Hugs
8. Artwork
9. A sketchpad

MFF gas leak makes CBS Sunday News
Posted 11 years agoThis morning, while watching a recap of CBS Sunday News with my dad, an incident was reported to have taken place at MFF. According to the report some irresponsible idiot left chlorine powder in a ninth-floor stairwell at the hotel. As a result, 19 people were hospitalized. My heart goes out to those exposed to the gas. I hope they heal swiftly. Someone stated invesyigators believe the gas was created intentionally and are treating it as a criminal matter. -_-;
On a semi-humorous note, one of reporters called MFF "known as Anthrocon." Shows they did not do their research on our conventions or the fandom.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Posted 11 years agoA moment of Thanks:
I am grateful to be alive and have a roof over my head. I am grateful for my friends and family, past and present. Grateful to have a working car, albeit a lemon that continuously has problems. I am grateful to have a job, even if it isn't that dream job yet. Grateful to have wonderful coworkers, who are part of the main reason why I am still at that job. Grateful to have kind massage clients, who like me for what I do for them. Grateful for music that keeps me going, hope to keep me inspired. I am grateful for the love and hope I have in my heart for people around me (even if they are dicks), my world, country, environment and animals. I hope I continue to have that love, and that people start to love each other a little bit more than they do now. My wish is that you love someone a little more than you used to, a friend, a coworker, a stranger, a family member.Show that you can be different. And that you can make a difference.
Oh, before I forget, to all those who would go out shopping today, on what I have taken to calling "Black Thursday", I ask you to remember something. I ask you to remember that that associate you are about to complain at (maybe about the long lines, or about the sold-out status of an item you came in for) has given up their holiday for you. Maybe it was a choice. More likely, it wasn't. I ask you to remember that that worker and virtually every other one you encounter in your shopping travels today is a person who was likely forced to give up their holiday, their family time- hell, give up one (formerly) guaranteed day off- just so that you and the thousands of others like you could top off a holiday meant to celebrate what you have with buying what you probably don't need.
So be nice, be respectful, and be grateful. Losing their Thanksgiving is just one example of the hell retail or any kind of service industry employees go through for you.

Being there for others.
Posted 11 years agoAs tired as I am, I have a heavy heart and find it that much harder to sleep. No one single reason, just a flood of thoughts, worry, and hurt of many things going on lately. Not just for myself, but people I love and even mutual friends I hardly know that are facing hardships on some level or another.
We all need to wake up. If you can't pay it forward literally, just being there is just as good! Not just letting someone know you're there, but BE there. If not just to spend time with someone who desperately needs to be distracted from what they're going through. I can tell you from experience, even the smallest simplest gestures matter!
Never look down on anybody unless you're helping them up.

To have a blast! Work and Life update
Posted 11 years agoHello all. Been awhile since I have posted anything on here.
My day job has been hectic to say the least. October through December is a "busy season" for the company. It has been a struggle getting used to the new 1st shift and taking a bus to work. It has not been easy when you are used to doing 2nd shift. It's not bad, but still takes getting used to. I also spent a few days working in their two retail stores. The plus side was finding out their massage therapist had pneumonia (sad she had it) and both stores asked me to give chair massages at their locations on my days off. Score!!!!! I was grinning from ear to ear because I missed massaging clients and seeing their contented smiles from my skills. It makes me happy knowing I can help heal someone or make them smile or laugh.
Because of the busy season, I am getting many overtime shifts. Some shifts being 10-14 hours, where I end up going straight to bed after work. Thankfully, my last long shift is tomorrow. Then, it's back to regular 8 hour shifts until I attend Furpacolypse this coming week.
On and off I have been taking care of my step-dad, who has dementia whenever my mom goes on business trips. He's had a couple of hallucinations but nothing major. Turns out I will be caring for him for 3 weeks during November.
I will be attending Furpacolypse Thursday - Monday. I am wicked excited to attend and see my friends there. I will also be selling a few fleece blankets at my friend
mellencollie's table in Artist Alley, who will be selling yarn tails, etc. I will also be bringing my massage chair.
Looking forward to seeing you all at Furpacolypse! ^_^

Anthrocon, Good news, and Bad news
Posted 11 years agoWelcome back to everyone who attended Anthrocon. I hope you all had an awesome time.
This weekend, I attended a Pagan Buddhist wedding in northern Vermont and met some wonderful people.
The good news is most of my car is patched up. There are a couple of things that need to be attended to whenever I can afford it.
The bad news is my branch in customer service will be closing for good either by September 4th. In 45 days, we need to decide whether we want to work in the customer service branch in North Clarendon (50 minutes from my house) or take a severance pay.
I am thinking of giving North Clarendon a try for however long I can hold out. In the meantime, I will be searching for a new job. Hopefully I can find one with better pay near my home or at least in the environmental field I majored in.
It's gonna be a long 2014.
Wish me luck. ^_^
This weekend, I attended a Pagan Buddhist wedding in northern Vermont and met some wonderful people.

Wishing everyone great time at AC!
Posted 11 years agoUnfortunately, I will be unale to attend this year. Looking back on some of the pictures, I will miss being there and the friends I have made. Maybe next year.
However, after work today, I will driving up to northern Vermont to visit friends through July 4th. Then, Saturday I will be attending a wedding and work in evening.
Wishing everyone safe travels and fun times, whether you are at a convention or not.

Four Agreements
Posted 11 years agoA friend shared this with me. I thought I would share it with all of you.
1) Be impeccable with your Word.
a) Speak with integrity
b) Say only what you mean
c) Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or gossip about others
d) Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love
2) Do not take anything personally. <--- I have trouble with this one
a) Nothing others do is because of you
b) What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. Their own dream.
c) When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you will not be the victim
of endless suffering
3) Do not make assumptions.
a) Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want
b) Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and
drama <--- Working to be better at this
c) With just one agreement, you can transform your life
4) Always do your best.
a) Your best is going to change from moment to moment;
it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to being sick
b) Under any circumstances, simply do your best and you will avoid
self-judgment, self-adjustment, and regret
In the words of Abraham Lincoln, in the movie "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"
"Seven minutes ago... we, your forefathers, were brought forth upon a most excellent adventure conceived by our new friends, Bill... and Ted. These two great gentlemen are dedicated to a proposition which was true in my time, just as it's true today. Be excellent to each other. And... PARTY ON, DUDES!"

Send a little prayer
Posted 11 years agoOn break at work.
I have been teeter-tottering whether or not to post this on here.
I was wondering if you could please say a prayer to my folks. My step-dad had been in psychriatic ward because of his increasing dimentia. He has been in there for about a week. He will get out Monday, but both my mother and his doctors think he should still be institutionalized.
My mother does not have enough funds to keep him in more than 120 days. Unofrtunately, due to his medicaid she will be unable to afford a nurse during the days she is at work.
I feel so helpless and torn. I do not know what to do. I want to help.
Last night, after work, I visited him in the psych ward. He was right. The psych ward is like being in prison. I jokingly told him at least his food was better than prison food. It was hard not to cry seeing him there. Instead, I cried in the car while driving home.
Oddly enough, I am comforted I am working today. My coworkers and customers keep my spirits up. Working til late evening then cat sitting for friends.
Thank you to my friends last night for keeping me going.

Memorial Day and Weekend updates
Posted 11 years agoThinking of all the veterans and those who are currently serving our country.
Have a safe Memorial Day everyone!
I worked Saturday and as usual the customers came out of the woodwork, I drove up to northern Vermont Saturday night to visit furiends
Zytx and
Ahzlon. I had a really wonderful weekend with them. We visited and participated in the Champlain Valley Classic Cruisers show in Plattsburgh, New York.
Ahzlon won 3rd place with his Subaru Baja!
I am dreading the drive back home. I need to transport stuff from old apartment to new apartment and I have more unpacking to do. Need to find a way this week to haul the fold-out couch out of old to new apartment.

WARNING to all my NH FURIENDS
Posted 11 years agoCopied this from a friend’s post on Facebook.
“Bryan Taylor is in jail. He has been sentenced with 2 counts of felony possession of fire arms. At about 3:00 yesterday afternoon I got a knock on my apartment door. To my surprise it was the Milford police. They started asking me about Bryan and if he had any fire arms in the house. I told them that Bryan does have multiple fire arms . They requested that the search the apartment. I requested a warrant. I was taken down to the station and questioned more about what I knew about Bryan and his past. After the warrant was issued. The apartment searched and the weapons seized I was told some shocking information about the man I have been living with for 3 years.
Bryan Taylor has never been active with any branch of the military. The time that he claims, he was serving our country he was in fact serving time in jail for felony offences including, an armed robbery in concord. Furthermore, Bryan has never been active on any fire department in New Hampshire. This will be his 5th conviction for felony possession of fire arms. This charge comes with years of jail time.
While I am devastated by this turn of events, I am also remaining very strong. I have removed him from my lease and I will not be having any contact with him while he is incarcerated or any time after. While I know this information may be hard to read I strongly feel that it is my duty to deliver the truth to so many that he has lied to.”
Honestly, I cannot say I am too surprised hearing this information. I knew of some of his past regarding the robbery, possession of many firearms, and not paying child support. I feel as if a weight has been removed off my shoulders. With the way he manipulated me and Shiloh, it does not surprise me he was hiding more secrets. I am thankful he is free from lying, cheating, and manipulating other people. When Shiloh told me about all this on the phone yesterday after work, I danced.

Moving within a month
Posted 11 years ago*Wipes away tears*
Talk about returning home to a nightmare. I arrived home after the gym and I found an eviction notice from my new landlord. He wants me to leave by June 1st so his fiance can move in. What shocks and upsets me about the is the previous week he said to my ex-landlords that he is okay moving into my apartment and this week he wants me to vacate. Talk about a cruel joke.
I checked into this everything is being done legally. There are no loopholes. I liked my ex-landlords; they were cool and nice.
I called off work early. There is no way I can think logically when I continuously cry. Logic literally goes out the door and I do not think of what I say when I am talking through my emotions. I do not know if is an Aspergergian thing. *sighs*
The good things is that I have a full month to look for a new apartment. Supposedly, from what a friend told me, there are apartments that are based on income, other than section 8 housing. Combing the internet now for that.
At the moment my options are find a new apartment in VT, move in with my parents, or move out of Vermont. I have a month to decide.
