Been without a working computer. Awaiting a new battery for it. Knock on wood it is the only problem I have with this laptop. With the many issues between my car and the laptop I give up. If it's not problem with one, it is the other.
Saving up for a new computer.
Also, due to wretched work scheduler, I cannot attend Further 'More or Anime Boston. =(
Waiting for a reply from work if I can have time off for AC.
In other news, I turn 32 on February 24th.

*sniffles* Today is sad day. I couldn’t believe when I heard the news last night. A life was snuffed out during the Christmas holiday.
LadySin passed away due to cancer. Her name was Lindsay. She was kind and had a wicked sense of humor. She was indeed a great person. She had sooo much to live for and died too young.
Miss you very much Lindsay.
Rest in Peace. You are a cherished friend.

There was a work related incident I was able to help nip it in the bud before drama began. I am also glad I did not chicken out doing Penguin Plunge (a good cause) and playing mud volleyball for my first time and loving it. In addition, I am glad I was able to help out security at FurFright regarding a certain individual in the Headless Lounge.

You know you have been at work too long.....
Posted 12 years ago...when your supervisor fondly jokes that you live there.During October through December our company calls this busy season. During this time the company allows us to widen our shifts to gain more overtime to help with the overflow of customers. My supervisor is fond of saying to both my coworker Sarah and I we live at work, due to us using the company gym after work and working overtime. Well, now she is right.
She told my department 3 of us made the top 4 overtime achievers between both CS locations. Surprisingly, I acquired 2nd place. Granted a 15 hour shift probably contributed to that. I know I accrued a lot of overtime during this busy season but not THIS much. O_O We joked around the first place winner should get our fold-out-bed as a prize. That way, my supervisor can truly say we "live here." There is a fine line between dedication and insanity. I' will admit it. I think the overtime I accrued this busy month counts as insanity.
Cannot wait for this busy season to end. The customers are becoming more panicky, rude and downright nasty as Christmas approaches.

My feet are sore and my body is exhausted. I was a little bummed out I was unable to wear Lucky at the furmeet due to the weather, but that's okay, I still had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone. ^_^

Otakon report and San Antonio, Texas

Otakon is one huuuuuuge anime convention. Probably as big Anthrocon, unsure. Been wanting to go there since high school and I'm extremely happy I was able to attend this year. First time for me. Much to see and do. I had a blast hanging out with Chazzfox, 
Irime, and 
MajikCraft.
Monday morning I will be leaving at crack of dawn to fly to San Antonio, Texas to visit friends. Soo not looking forward to leaving wicked early. Bring on the coffee! I will be back in Vermont on August 25th.

Posted 12 years agoBeen dog sitting for my parents this week. Yesterday, on my day off, I had my muffler hinged to keep from rattling. Just when I thought I did not have any more car problems, I find out my 2 rear tires are bald and I need to get my driver's side door handle replaced. I was able to replace the tires, now I need to tackle the door handle. Would seriously love to stop having to fix this lemon car. The tires and the door handle make it the 18th problems since I have owned this car for over a year. Wish I had known Vermont does not have lemon laws.
Also, I had a good time hanging out with friends yesterday. One of my friends wanted to see Grown Ups 2, so we saw it. Worst movie I have seen all year! I am hoping to see Pacific Rim, R.I.P.D., or Red 2. Heard they were good.
On the other hand, the Wi-Fi issue appears not to have been resolved by tech support. Usually, I can access my parent's Wi-Fi, but as usual I continue to receive the same Wi-Fi issues.I continuously receive popups saying it detected networks, but when I go to view them, it says networks are not found in range. WTF!! I spent over 3 hours on the phone with tech support. Apparently in the end, they tried the same technique of manually connecting my laptop to parent's network. Hasn't seem to work yet.

Laptop issue resolved
Posted 12 years agoI had an emergency session with laptop's technical support last night concerning Shockwave flash & Wifi. Was on the phone with tech for 3 hours well past 2:30am. Nothing was resolved.
After a 2 hour call with tech support today, the issues are fixed. Now, I need to tackle the muffler issue. Exhaust has a small hole and the muffler's hanger needs to be welded........On the next Oprah. lol

Experiencing computer technical difficulties
Posted 12 years agoI apologize to those who were trying to get in touch with me last night. My network has been experiencing issues. Well, not just my Wifi but also shockwave flash. I was on the phone with technical support for 3 hours, which ended before 2:30am. I have a suspicion either technical support shut off my Wifi while fixing Shockwave or our Wifi Ethernet is on the fritz. No idea. Trying to solve the mystery. I recently brought my laptop to an area that is supposed to have Wifi but nothing is working. Plus I have no cell reception to contact technical support either.
As you can see, currently I am the location supposed to have Wifi. Since, I cannot access it on my laptop, I am using one of their computers. Praying I can get the mystery resolved. Between this laptop and my car issues, I give up. Thankfully the car issue is minor and hopping to get it fixed on my next day off whenever that will be.
After I leave here, will return home and contact technical support again.

Corin91 passed away. I am still in shock. I do not know how he died, but he died young. He was an awesome friend. I learned so much from him, when I used to live in NH. You will be deeply missed. =*(

Posted 12 years agoYesterday, played hookie fro work, with the approval of my supervisor, and instead I participated with the company I work for, in the Relay for Life: American Cancer Societyy event in Rutland, Vermont. I ran on 4 hours of sleep and I was there for 11.5 hours; I walked 5 laps around the track with cancer survivors and gave 9.5 hours worth of chair massages. Racked in a lot of tips, which I gave back to the Relay for life. It was a big turn out. Before I left after 11pm, the announcer proclaimed we made over $183,150 and still climbing. I was told their goal this year was $165,000. I would not be surprised if the event earned $200,000 or more. I wanted to stay longer and walk a few laps but, I was starting to become tired and needed to return home to give our ferrets water. The soles of my feet hurt like heck too (no surprise).
I had a great time there. I also won two raffles and was ecstatic when I was asked to give massages there next year. I cannot wait to return next year.
Unfortunately, I acquired a cold with a sore throat from my check up with my doctor on Friday morning. Daytime Dayquil and drinking tea have been helping. My sore throat makes it hard for me to talk and my chronic sinusitis and the tingling/ringing in my ears doesn't help either. I cannot wait for both my cold and my tinnitus to go away. I barely have a voice left. I'm glad I have Sundays off. Hopefully tomorrow my voice will be okay for work.

My Absence
Posted 12 years agoSorry for my absence. My computer has been in the shop for some time. I should be receiving it either Monday or Tuesday. Having my RAM updated as well as having a mystery solved as to the reason why Firefox has eaten 1 gig of memory whenever I use it. Apparently, the new updates and or plugins of Firefox have a few bugs. XD Last night, I realized I forgot to ask the IT if he can also install an updated graphics car. Derp. I will ask him tomorrow.
In the meantime, I hope everyone has been enjoying their week as well as their weekend. ^_^
