Posted 7 years agoMy friends...it is hard to write this but I feel I must. My cancer is back and is spreading rapidly. I’m not sure exactly the amount of time I have but it isn’t as long as one would hope. Please know that I appreciate all the amazing arts and the friendships built around them. I’ve met some amazing people I’m privileged to call friends. I’ll keep you posted as I can. But in any other case I leave you with this:

HELP SAVE MY THERAPY KITTY FROM DEATH!
Posted 7 years agoMy beloved therapy kitty Zombie is now battling cancer along side me. Please help if you can! Spread the word!! I recently submitted a picture of him as a submission as well. He truly is a one of a kind kitty. Here is a bit about him:
SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!
Four years ago, a woman named Tina was tasked with being foster mom to a special kitten. He had been found dumped outside and he had a fly bot under the skin above his left eye. The vet removed the bot and it was huge! It took a while for it to heal but her herd took him in during the healing process. Even though he lost the site in that eye, he was one of the most amazing kittens she'd ever met. She named him Zombie because he liked to gently chew on her - THAT'S ME! Our Mom adopted me in the fall. I became an unofficial therapy cat and would go to work in a care facility with Mom and offer tons off comfort to the residents. When Mom's chronic myeloid leukemia returned I became her emotional support animal, always by her side. Has she told you about the time that I actually defended her young human kitten from dog attacks and won! Now, I need your help though... I have lymphoma again and it requires a round of treatment to beat it. Mama Tina is trying to raise the $3,000 to save me because I help so many. My vet, Mile Creek Animal Hospital, has a PayPal fund so all money donated goes directly to my care. Their address is milecreekanimalfund[at]gmail.com MARK IT AS FRIENDS AND FAMILY so that there are no extra fees taken and add a note that the donation is for Zombie Musselman acct: #488927. Folks, this cat is truly rare. Please help save me! I still have adventures to have! SHARE!!!

IN THE HOSPITAL
Posted 7 years ago This morning I checked in to the hospital for my acdf surgery of C5, C6 and, C7. Everything went good there I believe. My surgeon notified my friend that there were a couple more “problem areas” that he went ahead and fixed as well. I’ll get clarification of what exactly that means tomorrow morning. Other than that I am in good spirits. After one year I can actually FEEL my left arm and hand. It’s emotional and amazing. Of course it hurts..it was a major operation my body has undergone but still...the feels...LITERALLY!
My poor friend was sent to the wrong room after my surgery when I was moved so he was worried as was I. I remember being insistent that they find him because he had my Phone and iPad and such and I just really wanted him. Surgery gives me anxiety ever since the passing of my parents so I needed him. Luckily after about an hour of a very drugged Luka being bitchy they found him for me. What a relief.
I handled the clear liquid dinner meal they brought extremely well so they are allowing me to move to solids starting with breakfast. The fun part is my drain in the surgical site. It’s sewn in and allows fluid to drain into a bulb essentially from the site. Now in order for me to be allowed to go home it must be under 10mL for two consecutive checks. To give you perspective they drained it at 8 and it had 40mL and now it’s onkt 11:30 and it has around (a guess) 20mL in it...so that will require time. Getting up to go to the bathroom is a chore as I’m wired in with and IV for antibiotics, anti inflammatories and, general fluids to keep my hydrated. I get extremely weak and dizzy when retiring from the bathroom which is in my room so that means more time. Baby steps...healing is a process I know. Also I’m wearing booties to promote blood circulation in my legs when in bed. This will discourage clot formation.
The nurses are wonderful and incredibly patient with me and I adore them. I will be so glad to go back home and get better and return to work. All together it will be six months I haven’t been able to work which makes money for bills and essentials EXTREMELY TIGHT! I’ll enjoy being able to work and get back to normal and afford some new art!!

Update 5.1.18 Life, Toddlers, Surgery and more.
Posted 7 years ago Well as to not bore everyone with the mindless rambling I shall just get to it. Surgery is seven days from today on my spine. I have been to get poked and probed and pictures taken of my insides at any angle and format that you can possibly think of but I still don't feel at ease about any of it. I don't like the idea of being under anesthesia. When it was myself alone I would like to think I would charge headlong into this but with a crazy rebellious toddler about it makes one more cautious and causes them to look more ahead than they naturally would. I know it will be okay because its routine. I know it will be okay because we now have an answer as to what is wrong with me. I know it will be okay because it simply has to.
In the light of that I will be down for the count until at least July this year so why not try my hand at some more doodles? The whole point of this surgery IS after all to regain the function and feeling of my left arm....which when you are left handed is pretty damn important. The doodles probably won't be great and they might be downright horrid but hey...its something to do to keep my mind off of the surgery and it will keep me occupied post op when I will be stuck at home in bed on rest for a couple of months. Not to mention there are some changes that my sona Luka has undergone in my own mind since last she was drawn. It seems only fitting that as I have grown and changed, that she would do so in her own ways as well.
Good vibes people, good vibes- Luka

Neurosurgery and my very messed up spine.
Posted 7 years agoWhelp, the title is true. Last February 2017 I had a fall of some sort. It displaced slightly two vertebrae. About five months ago I woke up with no feeling in my left arm which scared me. Turns out I had to see a neurosurgeon after a long and grueling path full of doctors visits and medicine not working for pain which is still true. So in short, I will be having what is called ACDF surgery on May 7th. I am utterly petrified. I am relieved in a way because I can SEE the damage and finally have an answer to all of this suffering. It could have been many things but this is finally what it is. I have been off work for two months already. Unable to do anything lifting or rotating wise. I have a five pound weight limit which is challenging when you have a cute little 3 year old toddler running about all day saying Momma. I am also left handed which makes it even worse for me. I can not practice my art or write letters or anything. I can't drive unless its just into town quickly because i lose sensation in my arm and hand from the shoulder down. I is scared guys...I is scared. They will be taking bone from my hip as well for the surgery so its a 2 in 1....I am 27 years old and they're gonna poke around my spine...ugh.
Starting Monday I have about five appointments that I must go to to be poked and prodded and rested up and down and sideways to be cleared for this surgery. I LOATHE surgeries..hospitals and the like. It’s just not a good time for the Luka.

Update: 10:24:17
Posted 8 years ago Hello everyone! Life is been very busy for me this past year and because of such events I have been rather absent from here which makes me sad. I recently been accepted into the nursing program at my local university which is very cutthroat and intense as far as class work and homework goes. This leaves me little time for much else other than sleep and playing with my soon to be three-year son. What time does fly when you’re having fun as they say and I have been having fun learning new things and starting my career. But I am still a gamer girl at heart, so over the next few weeks you can expect to see me posting links to my twitch stream that I will be hosting every evening of me playing the game Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt. I’ll probably start the stream between 10 and 11 every evening and play anywhere between an hour to three hours. During this time you can come on and join in the fun and talk in the chat room. I will have my headset so you can hear me and I can respond to whatever you guys say. I look forward to seeing many of you there popping in and out of the stream even just to say hi. I’ve missed you all a lot and have enjoyed all of the wonderful art and hit the favorite button a few times myself.

UPDATE: 1.14.16
Posted 9 years agoHello all!!
This season is finally slowing down and being in customer service means I have been extremely busy. Luckily it is nice and calm these days and I am catching my breath amidst the newly fallen snow. Winter has finally come to Ohio and with it my sons first birthday is fast approaching! I cannot believe how time flies. First I was pregnant and then all of a sudden in the blink of an eye it seems, I am going to be the mother of a romping giggling toddler. How have you all been?

UPATE: 4.24.15
Posted 10 years agoHello all!
I am slowly emerging from the nest of motherhood that is the first three months of my sons life. He is doing well and is growing into his own individual self every single day. It is hard to realize that he is actually his own person sometimes until he does something that is "entirely Jameson" as I would put it.
As for the home front, I have now adopted TWO special needs kittens. Their Facebook page has gone viral and has over 1600 followers/ fans. They are all hung on what my little "wobble brothers" do each and every day around this crazy zoo of a house. We not only have a three month old son to care for but many other animals as well. Here is the run down:
-5 cats
-2 chinchillas
-2 dogs
-1 beareded dragon
....Yea...it's a zoo to say the least but it is so much fun! Home is quite cozy. I am constantly cleaning thanks to my own system I have set in place. Keeping a house is not an easy job! Luckily I have help and am able to for the first time since my son's birth, enjoy some WoW time again. It is very refreshing to get back to something that "the old me" enjoyed pre baby. You have to be careful to not lose yourself when you have a kid...that can make you depressed and reflects on them. Not as easy as it sounds trust me.
I finally have my cell phone again which is another step towards the normal world. lol. Last but not least, I will be flying back down to Florida to visit my family with Jameson (first plane ride yay!) since they haven't seen me in two years and with the recent birth of my son...they are seriously craving some adorable baby time. I will be happy to be back in my own stomping grounds so to speak.
How are you all doing? Anything interesting happen whilst I have been busy being a mommy?

LUKA HAS A BABY!
Posted 10 years agoYup!! Sorry it's been a while. Adjusting to motherhood is quite difficult but so worth it. Now then, who wants a story?! Here is how my son came to be...
On Tuesday January 27th (my due date) I went to my weekly OBGYN check up. You go weekly once you are so far along and being 40 weeks which is full term, I was there bright and early. We were talking about scheduling my induction for the following Tuesday (41 weeks) if I had not gone into labor naturally before then. First time pregnancies often go past their due dates so I wasn't surprised. That was until we checked my blood pressure, it was abnormally high and so we decided that maybe it was due to my walking into the clinic and moving around so much while I was so pregnant so we decided to wait a bit and take it again. Check number two was a bit better but not by much and my Doctor didn't say much about it until she came back into the room after checking my urine proteins. She VERY CASUALLY AS IF ASKING YOU TO PASS BUTTER AT THE DINNER TABLE said that she was going to be admitting me right then to be induced because she didn't like my blood pressure. Needless to say my jaw dropped and I was speechless. Here I was just coming to my weekly check up and I was all of a sudden going to be having a baby before I left that hospital! Luckily my clinic is attached to the best hospital in my area for labor and delivery so I went down the hall to admitting and directly up to my room in labor in delivery. They put in a balloon to start dilating my cervix and would fall out once I was dilated to 4cm. They said it would most likely be sometime later that night before I even got there. Time to rest? Nope!! Two hours later my doctor came in to check on my balloon and it fell right out! HELLO FOUR CM! Next they started me on pitocin to convince my cervix to continue dilating and start my contractions. Then we actually had a bit of a waiting game. I sat at 5 cm for about 12 hours or so. In that time I got my epidural and was actually able to get a bit of sleep until I woke up with the WORST cramps ever. By now it is around 6:45 am and my doctors were only giving me to 7ish before they discussed a c section. My doctor came in just in time for me to complain of having to get up to use the bathroom but I wasn't allowed due to my lower half being numb. I got quite irritated because I was sure no one was listening to me when I said I had to go! Turns out after a quick check of my cervix I was dilated to 9cm! Then everyone started pouring in. My room transformed from a quiet labor room to a brightly lit delivery room with scrubbed up doctors and sterilized equipment laid out perfectly on the tables. 60 seconds is all it took for me to get to 10 cm and I was finally able to push. Half an hour later my doctors were talking of helping my baby out with a vacuum tool and apparently he hated the idea of that because one doctor had the vacuum in hand and the other caught my son that came QUITE LITERALLY flying out of my womb. NO VACUUM FOR THAT ONE! He was so warm and wet and absolutely perfect. 31 minutes of pushing and my son, Jameson Alexander was born at 7:46 am on January 28th. He weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and measured 20 inches long. He is quite simply the most handsome creature I have ever laid my eyes on. Pregnancy was a wonderful experience and I treasured every moment he was in my womb, but now that I have him here in front of me and am able to see him without the help of an ultrasound I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I hope all my friends here continue posting awesome arts for me to like! I will speak again soon!!

A very pregnant Luka
Posted 10 years agoYep, 39 weeks and 1 day I walk around like march of the penguins. That is okay though! Little Jameson is growing well in my belly and is around 6.5 lbs as of what my awesome delivery dr could feel yesterday. She is pretty amazing, being able to feel by belly and tell me what parts are where..we found a head, a butt, and some legs and arms! Go figure huh? hehe.... Any who, I will be sure to post a new update when I finally have this adorable baby. Should be sometime this week!!!! How is everyone else?
UPDATE: 12.12.14
Posted 10 years agoHelloooo all!
It has been a very busy few weeks for me. I moved into a new place. Had to have the carpets cleaned and whatnot (always good when you have a baby coming!) and now I am beginning to feel more like I am at home. Some really good news that some of you may or may not know is that I am a cat lady. Well...speaking in a sense I have three kittehs that are my life and up until this point I haven't been able to have them with me. They have had to stay with my ex/friend Vye. I had to have a place suitable for them and for myself before I could get them and finally..FINALLY....I am able to have them!! I am so relieved and happy about it that I can't even describe the feeling. I was without them for eight months. And for me, going without them for even a day is torture. They are settling in nicely and have been roaming about their new two bedroom townhouse and following me like three mewing shadows. <3 Happy Luka there.
Baby is doing fine. We are on the "home stretch" as some would say. Seven weeks left to go. I am anxious and at the same time calm about the situation. I waddle around and am trying to figure out how to do everyday things again with my ever expanding baby bump. Yesterday I had my 33 week ultrasound and he has moved into head down position which is good! We also discovered that he has a head FULL of hair! Wee little baby Jameson hairs. hehe. I am so excited to meet him.
In other news, WoW is going quite well. At a bit of a stand still because of waiting for the new patch to release the last part of the map. So excited for that. My ally toon is leveled to 100 and now tonight I believe I will start working on my horde toon and have her up to the same!
I hope everyone is doing well. I keep up to date on everyone on here or on my Facebook. Feel free to friend me on there!
