Posted 11 years agoIt's not TMI Tuesday, but I guess it can be Wasted Wednesday... not that I'll actually be getting wasted. Kinda hard to do that on (primarily) wine coolers, but I plan on holding a nice buzz for the next 2 hours and feel like answering random questions that furries have.
Bring it.

Today
Posted 12 years agoI've been up at Roop's house this week since it's the week in between 2 of my internships so I have the week off. Let's go through a brief list of today's events.
- Went out to run errands with Roop.
- At the cable company's office my car battery dies.
- Call my mom to see if we have AAA. She doesn't answer.
- Tried to jump it, but it didn't work (probably because my cables are shitty). Roop's uncle (who knows about this kinda stuff) randomly shows up and says the battery needs to be replaced.
- Call a tow company that's half a mile down the road to get towed back to Roop's house.
- 30 minutes later, call back because they aren't there yet. They say they'll be there in 5-10 minutes.
- They come... 30 minutes later. We get towed back to Roop's house. Pay the $85 for the tow.
- Luckily Roop lives 2 houses from an auto shop (the only positive part about today), and I was able to use their charge box to jump my car and get it going. They were too busy to take my car in, so I'll have to hope the battery lasts the rest of the week in this cold and be able to make it the 4-hour trip home.
- My mom calls me back, tells me to come home tomorrow instead of Sunday like I planned because there are apparently 3 big storms coming between now and Monday. If I did this, not only would I be cutting my visit with Roop from 9 days to 5, we'd miss Valentine's Day together. I likely won't be able to see Roop again till my next internship is over in 12 weeks and go through the whole graduation process so it could be more like 4 months before I could see him again. So yeah... leaving Wednesday when I planned on leaving Sunday would SUCK.
- Checked the weather channel... They're calling for 1 storm on Thursday, and light showers on Sunday, but other than that nothing. Don't know what my mom is smoking, but between my car battery being a POS, the 4-hour drive I'd have to make it home, all this snow that could be coming, and my internship starting on Monday... today's just been a big freakin pile of suck.
BLARG.

2-year anniversary with Roop
Posted 12 years agoIt's been 2 years since I got together with Roop. It's awesome to look back and see how our relationship has evolved in that time: from the "figuring it out" phase, the "puppy love" phase, and even the "having a fight once a month" phase which looks to be freshly behind us. I used to be that type of person who would be incredibly nostalgic, long for the past, wanting to be a kid forever, etc... but in the past 7 or 8 months I've done a complete 180, and now I can't wait for this summer when I'll be graduating, getting a job, moving out from my parents' house and settling down somewhere with Roop.
Happy 2-year anniversary, Roop. I love you =3

Not really, but I can show hints of it at times.

I think "silly" is a terrible word to use when talking about suicide so I'm not answering this question.

I guess I would lean more towards the dominant side, but pretty close to the middle.
59: Have you ever forgotten important dates like your partner's birthday or your anniversary?

For the first time... thinking about making a Tumblr
Posted 12 years agoNo, it has nothing to do with the FA drama. It has everything to do with me being bored as dicks as I work on a research project all day during the snow day. The only websites I use regularly are Facebook and FA. I don't exactly get around the internet much (for good reason) but I think a 3rd site might help alleviate some boredom. And for anyone who suggests it, no I am not making a Weasyl any time soon. I don't have the time to maintain another site and something that's basically the same exact thing as FA won't help boredom any.
I just deleted my Twitter yesterday since I never used it (it's a dumb site and I don't see how anyone gets entertainment from it). So, thinking of making a Tumblr. For those of you who use it, what are the pluses and minuses? Why should I (or shouldn't I) make one? What the hell really is it? I've only seen a very little bit of it from friends.

This just in... No one's actually leaving FA
Posted 12 years agoLots of people are bitching, many people are making/linking to Weasyl accounts, but I've only actually seen 1 artist I follow say they are leaving FA completely. Granted I don't follow a tremendous amount of people, nor do I read every single journal, but the feeling that I'm getting is that this is no big deal.
Calm your tits, people.

New Years' Resolutions
Posted 12 years agoI've made them for the past 2 years, so why not do them again. My resolutions for last year were:
- Draw at least 16 more fully-colored and shaded pics (either alone or collaboratively)
I got 17, and even though a good chunk of them were collabs it still counts >.> I'm gunna be doing collab commissions with Roop, so I'm probably gunna keep doing a good chunk of them that way >.>
- Write at least 4 more stories (either alone or collaboratively)
I only have 3 posted on my page, but I wrote one for Joining Team Rocket that's posted on Roop's page, and I've written 3 so far for Betraying Team Rocket that haven't been posted yet, so I'm counting it >.>
- Compete in 3 races at least 5k long
I only did 1... Blah. Better get off my lazy ass next year.
- Be completely out of the closet (probably my most important one)
I came out to my parents, and all my closest friends know at this point, so I'm gunna consider this one practically met.
- Meet 1 furry friend who I haven't met irl yet
Considering I only made it to FAU and I've been to a bunch of them already... this one failed. Came close to meeting someone, but schedules... and grandparents foiled that one.
- Begin at least 1 friend on an exercise routine and have them stick to it for more than 1 month (Hah... gunna need a miracle with this one)
I got Roop going, but idk if that counts exactly... I'll count it, but we'll try this one again >.>
- Be over 25k pageviews
I'm at 24,600. Been on this site for 4.5 years now, I make about 5.5k a year. Less than 400 views short... God flabbit...
- Still be in school (an oldie but goodie >.>)
Still there, woo!
- Attend 1 furry con (which at this point might be difficult...)
Made it FAU and that was it >.>
- Make over $100 in commissions
I did 2 YCHs and got 2 other commissions, all totalling $86. Another close one... Blarg.
So, made 6/10 and had 2 close calls... I'll take it. Now the the 2014 resolutions! Before 2015 I will:
- Draw at least 16 more fully-colored and shaded pics (either alone or collaboratively)
- Write at least 4 more stories (either alone or collaboratively)
- Make over $100 in commissions
- Be over 30k pageviews
- Attend 1 furry con
- Compete in at least 2 5k races and finish in under 25 minutes once
- Compete in at least 1 race over 5k
- Begin at least 1 friend on an exercise routine and have them stick to it for more than 1 month
- Get a full-time job (which entails graduating and passing my boards exam)
- Get my first home away from my parents (not counting school dorms/apartments)
Yeah, most of them are pretty similar to last year's, but there aren't rules that say I can't do that >.>

- Get my first home away from my parents (not counting school dorms/apartments)
Yeah, most of them are pretty similar to last year's, but there aren't rules that say I can't do that >.>

Main things to avoid are blood/gore/hard vore, hard/detailed digestion (implied is fine), rape, scat, watersports and MLP. Mostly everything else will be fine, but there are always exceptions >.>
- You may use my character in your commission, as long as I approve of the idea.
- Payment is required once your idea has been finalized and you have your slot via PayPal only.
- Anyone whose character(s) is/are involved may repost the commission as long as you do so at least 24 hours after my posting and you link back to the source.

The best speech ever given. You really should listen.
Posted 12 years agoIt's been 20 years since Jimmy V gave this iconic speech. Jimmy V week is this week so it seems appropriate to post about it now. If you don't know who he is, first of all, shame on you. Second, do 30 seconds of research on Google. Or don't... as long as you watch the speech. Yeah, it's 11 minutes long, but you have time. The first minutes 1:00-3:00 and from 7:00 to the end are the most important, so at least watch that.
The 3 biggest quotes from it (if you are really just that lazy not to watch it):
“To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special.”
"Don't give up... Don't ever give up."
"Cancer can take away all of my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul."

Time to Betray Team Rocket
Posted 12 years agoBetraying Team Rocket is finally starting up. If you read
's 100-chapter story "Joining Team Rocket" then you'll be familiar with the cast and their antics. If not, then this is the perfect time for you to hop in. Chapter 1 is right here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12194915/

Posted 12 years agoApparently having a big butt is a sign of good health... if you're a girl at least. Oh well, there's probably some carryover to guys as well. What really interests me about this is that some people found it necessary to conduct a study like this. That's totally gunna be the type of scientist I'm gunna be... Finding out how the size of your ass can affect your health and whatnot >.>

Holy dicks, I have a PayPal
Posted 12 years agoYeah, I finally got around to making one. Now I don't really have an excuse to mooch off Roop's >.> I haven't linked it to my bank account (yet) cuz I don't trust that shit, and I don't have a credit card yet soooo I won't really be using it too much. I might try to use it as a way to force myself to try taking commissions again, since the last time kinda failed.
The most appropriately named sports team
Posted 12 years agoThe Portland Trail Blazers of the NBA have recently become the first team of the 4 major sports in the USA (football, basketball, baseball, hockey) to publically endorse marriage equality. This is coming shortly after Oregon has become the 20th state to issue some sort of lawsuit declaring that marriage inequality is unconstitutional. This is how NJ was granted its right to gay marriage yesterday, becoming the 14th state to do so. We'll see where this lawsuit goes for Oregon, but nevertheless, it's awesome that the Trail Blazers are living up to their name.

In a slump
Posted 12 years agoNot getting the Pokemon game (no time or money for it), not getting to Furfright this year (same reasons), and not enough time to do any art (no time, little motivation), only seen 1 friend in the past 2-3 weeks. Instead, spending my time doing a research project, studying for my current internship when I need to start studying for my next one soon, setting up appointments for physical/immunizations and a background check (yay working with kids).

The response to all you blind Pokemon fanboys
Posted 12 years agoIn this journal, I will reply to most of the main arguments for why some people think "Mega Pokemon" are a good idea. Keep in mind, I don't hate Mega Pokemon, but I HATE many of the reasons why many people are defending them. These are some of the dumb defenses I've seen, and what needs to be said about them.
1. It's an optional feature. You don't have to use it. Why do you care about it?
This is a dumb argument. No shit I personally don't have to use it. It's still there, and it still fucked with Pokemon in a way that they shouldn't have. The fact that this change is still there is bothersome to people. I will still see art of it. If I got the games, chances are I would face CPUs who would use them. I have to hear all the bickering back and forth about it, so much so that I feel like I have to write this journal about it.
2. But, there have been many changes to Pokemon over the years. They changed the PC system, TMs, and many things. If you don't hate those, why do you hate Mega Pokemon?
This is an even dumber argument. No shit any sort of franchize will evolve (see what I did there? >.>) as time goes on. Things change, and improvements are made. That said, there is a difference between a big change and a little change. There is also a difference between a good change and a bad change. The first step for any of you trying to use this #2 argument is to please acknowledge that those 2 facts about changes do exist. Secondly, if you cannot see that "mega evolutions" are one of the biggest changes to come to Pokemon since it was created and can acknowledge that such a big change might not sit well with everyone... you really need to just shut up. You are not welcome in this debate.
3. But they look so cool!
No they don't. All of them but Houndoom all look stupid to some degree. Some look flat out... I really don't like to use this word because I'm aware of how offensive it can be, but some of these Megas really do look retarded.
4. But, you've supported Pokemon for so long, and it has been such a good, successful franchize for so long. If it comes from them, you have to like it!
Okay, so most people who use this argument don't put it in those words exactly, but they might as well be doing so. I've seen many people who will accept whatever the Pokemon Gods decree because ALL HAIL POKEMON! It's the definition of blind brand loyalty, and if you use this argument I don't respect your opinion.
Those are the big arguments I've heard that I really can't stand. Please don't even try to defend any of them. Like I said, I don't hate the Megas. I don't really like them, and I don't like how SO MUCH emphasis is being placed on them, especially since the Megas are probably a reason why there are so few Pokemon in the new gen, but I'm not one of those who goes so far to say that it's ruined Pokemon.
And a bit off topic but... 69 Pokemon in the new gen... It's a sex thing >.>

I've NEVER done this before, but...
Posted 12 years agoMy Skype contacts list has dropped to just a dozen people, half of which I don't really talk to much, so I'm doing one of those "Here's my Skype. Add me if you want to." journals.

Keep in mind:
- I don't really play video games much, so that's not likely something you'll be able to talk with me about.
- I don't follow a lot of internet stuff, memeish stuff, etc...
- I do rp, but only after I've gotten to know you.
- I do rarely start talking first because I'm usually busy.
- I can be slow to reply sometimes... also because I'm usually busy. But I don't just ignore messages, and I do try to respond somewhat regularly.
- Most importantly, I might seem kinda blunt/matter-of-fact pretty often, but I actually am pretty friendly (I think >.>), so don't be afraid of me. I won't bite your head off.
So there ya go. Add me if you want.
