Yes, there are 99 chapters, so it will take some time to get caught up, but the chapters are short, and they are worth the read. Since his character was my friend's character's "father" that must automatically make me his "son" as well, tried to put me in a Pokeball, then to top it off he tried to convince me to fly out to California from NJ so he could fuck me and basically be my mate... even though I was already mated at the time. Oh, and all this happened the first time meeting him.

17. Everyone has considered leaving FA once or twice. Have you? Why?
I thought that once I started grad school I wouldn't have time for furries anymore, but I've been able to stay with it for the most part. I don't draw or write nearly as much, and I don't talk to that many people, but I'm still here.

I'm considering making a ref sheet for myself as a mega lucario. It should be pretty easy since I can just use my current ref sheet and make the necessary changes. I wouldn't use it much, probably only for 2-3 pics when all's said and done. It would be an easier decision if mega lucario didn't look soooo stupid... As I said when it first was released, mega lucario looks like a 12 year old biker thug wannabe got ahold of lucario. The extra spikes, the uglier dreads, the random black streaks, the redness and he floofy tail all look terrible... so I'm gunna hafta work with that if I do it...

As if Pokemon wasn't already doing too much the games painfully easy. They really do something every gen. It goes back as far as when they expanded how much items you could carry to making it unlimited, making TMs reusable, eliminating the walking effect of poison, and now they're handing you 3 starters. I don't know exactly when you get them all cuz I'm not paying that close attention, but if you get all 3 basically off the bat, that ruins a major chunk of the game.

Am I the only one who loved having that ragtag bunch early in the game? It was one of, if not my favorite parts. You have your starter as your anchor, a couple solid basic Pokemon (usually the generic bird and/or normal type), that rare stud they throw in early, and that weakling who has an awesome evolution you're grinding so hard to train. But now they're handing you half your team, and it eliminates that excitement. Fuck that.

I despised the mega shit when they first introduced it, but as more information became available about what it is and how it works, I found it to be something that, while it is still a mega stupid idea, it is tolerable. Maybe there is information I don't know/that hasn't been released yet that will make this system less broken, but I doubt it. Kids these days don't know what being a true Pokemon Master is.

I just moved in with my grandma for the next 10 weeks because I have an internship starting over by where she lives. After I got unpacked, I asked "Do you have wifi?" "Wh... what's wifi?" "It's wireless internet." "Um..."

So she showed me her computer, and what she does with it. I told her the box she had behind her computer was the router, and how it hooked up to the computer. Turned out it needed a password... She had no clue what it was.

We eventually found this little folder of info that my dad left her when he set up the computer. She found a paper that she thought was the password. It even said "wifi password." It was an important date, so she thought it must be it. Nope. Tried another code that was on the piece of paper. Nope. Tried again on caps lock, nope. Then I deciphered my dad's shitty handwriting, changed a G to a 6 and tried again... Nope. Tried one last time with the new password with caps lock, and it finally worked.

Freakin...

Is when they say something they did it complete crap. It's one thing for someone to say "I could have done this a little better" or "this part came out a bit off" but I hate looking at sketches or pics that look awesome, stuff that would take me 5x longer to do (and it would still come out worse), and the artist just says "it's terrible. I'm not going to bother with it." There's a difference between being self-critical and having no self-confidence.

I just got home from FAU 6, and I'm freakin wiped. I guess I'll do one of those con-wrap up journals that people do since this is the only con I ever get to go to >.>

Pre-Con
Good: Had a pretty good overall time with the guys before the con began. Since this was the 2nd year in a row my family (except my grandma) went on vacation during the FAU week, I had the house almost completely to myself, and I could have some of the guys over a few days before the con began. came on Saturday, and came on Sunday, and , and came on Wednesday. We went over to the hotel on Thursday.
Good: Roop and I went with , , and to the NJ State Fair and had a pretty awesome time.
Bad: Canas sucks at directions. Probably spent ~1.5 hours more than he needed to because he felt like going to the right address... in the wrong town. Way to go >.>
Ugly: I kiiinda felt like a single father taking care of 7 kids for a lot of the con and especially before it when we were all at my house. Canas and Keith have preeetty loud mouths, and I'm pretty sure my grandma heard a lot of what was going on from where she lives downstairs >.> I also spent way too much time cleaning, deciding how/what we were gunna eat, organizing what we were gunna do, etc.

Hotel and hanging out
Good: Our room was definitely an upgrade from last year. With 8 of us in 1 room, we wouldn't have been able to survive in one of their regular rooms like last year, and luckily the father of one of the guys in our group is a Platinum member of Mariott so we could stay in a suite at only $81 per person for the duration of the con (Thursday - Monday (4 nights) among 8 people).
Bad: Similar to my opinion of it last year, I'm not really a huge fan of the hotel. The road it's on it not a fun one to drive on, the cleaning ladies take their suite-ass time to get to our room (and occassionally don't even show), and the layout is kind of all over the place. The Conceirge Room also kinda sucked (first world problems, I know... stfu >.>), so I didn't feel bad at all when we raided it for snacks and drinks any time we had the chance. Overall, it's not a terrible hotel, but I've seen better in Jersey.
Bad: For some reason, I had a hard time really... getting into it this year. I don't suit or anything, but I have a couple outfits I usually wear when I'm at cons, and I wasn't as thrilled to be wearing them this year. I also didn't wear my tail aside from Friday even though I love the thing.
Ugly: There was a lot more downtime this year than most cons I've been to. Some of it was spent well playing Clue (which Roop and I destroyed everyone else at), Cards Against Humanity, and Fluxx, but there was too much time spent with everyone on their DSes and computers just doing things off by themselves. Note to self for next year: bring more shit to do for downtime.

WTF: Pretty much the only people we knew who was staying at the con besides Jyaki and Kith were  blondevelvet,  flixard and  leshana. By some crazy miracle, not only was their room next to ours... Our rooms were those kind that are connected by a doorway, so we could go back and forth pretty easily. Spent a lot of time, and had a lot of fun hanging out with those guys =3 They and the ~11 person group we had helped finish 8 bottles of liquor (though most of them were at least partly started already).

Panels and the con itself:
Good: The con flowed pretty well in that it seems like not a whole lot went wrong logistically. Registration and other tech stuff involved with the con all actually worked, the pool party they had which I thought would end up being crazy packed was actually nicely spaced and fun. There was also a decent amount of entertaining panels, though some of them I didn't get to go to cuz of timing or lack of interest from the rest of the group (and me not wanting to go alone).
Good: The con raised over $10,000 for the NJSPCA among not even 700 attendees. That's an insane number, and I'm stoked to be apart of it. It's awesome how we destroy our goal every year, and I can't wait to see what we can do next year.
Bad: Some of the panels could have been better dispersed. It seemed like all the interesting ones were jammed into Friday, the only 2 things I was interested in on Saturday was on the same time, and Sunday didn't really have anything interesting to me. I know they can't try to schedule panels based on assumed appeal since that would be offensive to some of the panelists, but stuff such as putting the pool party during a panel probably wasn't the best idea.
Ugly: There was a bridal party at the hotel on Friday, and one of my friends overheard someone say "I can't believe we have to share the hotel with these fuckers" or something like that when she was leaving for the night, referring to the furries obviously. Then later that night a group of them were drunk and being loud down in the lobby, so the hotel staff told them to quiet down. They thought it would be a good idea to pull the fire alarm twice... at 3-4am... No furries were involved, thankfully.
WTF: So I entered the poker tournament that FAU held this year (their first one), and I did better than I thought I would. Spent $50 for charity, and walked away with 2nd place and a Super-Sponsorship for FAU next year. Kinda bummed I didn't win, but I didn't have the chips or the cards to really play the way I would've wanted when it got down to the final 2 of us, and 2nd is obviously still awesome. Props to Roop and Jet for playing well, Canas for snagging 3rd place and a free Sponsorship for next year, and to  solus (pretty sure that's him >.>) for winning it all. I'm absolutely gunna do it next year if they do it again.

So yeah... overally probably one of the most up-and-down cons I've been to. It had some really fun moments and some really bleh/boring ones, but overall I'd say I had fun. Can't wait for next year. Now then... I have 989 submissions in my inbox to go through. Kinda hoped I would make it to 1000 since my inbox has never been that full, but I guess this will do for now <.< Considering what took place in the past week or so, I'm sure it will be full of mega-Pokemon and fat bunnies >.>

So this happened a few days ago, but I've been busy with the pre-FAU week. On Saturday, I went to the NJ State Fair with a few friends, and towards the end of the evening I went on the ferris wheel with , naokichanicon: and . The first loop around, the worker noticed my arm around Roop, and said aloud to everyone "why is that guy around that other guy's shoulder?" Then Roop and I kissed for the next time we came around and were welcomed by an "ewwwwwwww." The third trip around, Ari and Roxy kissed, and the guy just did the creeper grin and giggled. When we got off, he said that "someone must have lost a bet." Someone's pretty oblivious...

It was probably one of the funniest things that's happened in a while.

So it turns out this is how the Pokemon do that MegaShit. It's some kinda stone that they have to hold in battle. Idk... the video wasn't uber detailed about it, but at least they might have picked an acceptable way to go about it. (And I don't feel like looking up anything else because I don't care enough to.)

The possible good that can come out of this
- As I said in my previous journal, the only way lucario should become "Mega" is just to give him an even bigger ass. If and when this type of picture surfaces, I will be thoroughly amused.
- At least in this new "form" lucario looks even less like he wears "pants." Hopefully this will dispel some people who think it is a good idea to draw lucario "pantsless." MegaLucario shouldn't be drawn that way since it's even more obvious that he shouldn't be, and hopefully there will be carryover to the regular lucario.
- There have to be some Pokemon who are given this item and become "Mega Stoners." I can think of a few good candidates right off the bat >.>

I'm also very rarely one to comment on the looks of things like this, but WOW these things look stupid. I already said what the lucario looks like. But wow do I feel sorry for ampharos and absol... "Lets just throw a cloud onto ampharos's back, and some wings onto absol. Yeah! That'll look good! Man, we are so creative!"

Also, let me elaborate why this is dumb. Pokemon is something that many people my age have very fond memories of. We loved Gen 1, and Gen 2 is fine for most people. Past that, you get a lot of people who aren't so keen to it, but you don't really get a lot of true "haters." This MegaBullshit will produce haters. They've taken the concept of Pokemon that we've all known and loved and created some new bastardized twist. I get that change is good, and you need to keep things fresh, but wow... not like this. Not to mention that this even further illegitimizes the show, not that it really needed anything to help illegitimize it (and everyone knows that can be a whole other rant in and of itself). But, just to keep it simple, I'll say it. Where was all this MegaCrap the past 5 (or however many) years, Ash? The only way they could keep that consistent would be if this MegaShit occurs by some new technology... and that doesn't sound very appealing either, but at least it would make more sense. Not that Pokemon ever worried about making sense.

Alright... let's try to have some silver lining here... Admittedly, it is better than trying to make an evolution of some of these. If they even try to do a new evolution of a starter, as well as make a 4th evolution stage... that would be so monumentally dumb. If this "Mega" bullshit is something that's reversible, like some ability or... I HATE the word new "form" but that would be better than an evolution...

Btw... just to return to the stupid appearance of "MegaLucario" for a moment... If you wanted to make a lucario mega, there is only 1 thing you do. You keep everything exactly the same, and you just make the ass HUGE.
