LUNARSHINE IS SHUTTING DOWN
Posted 2 years agoIt is with a heavy heart that we announce that in the coming months, LunarShine will be shutting down. It's been an amazing 10 years, and we're so glad to have made so many people happy. We will continue taking backorders and custom print orders until June 1st. After that, only in-stock items will be sold. At this time, all remaining plush toys will go on sale for $4.99/each. This will continue until all units are sold. We'd like to thank everyone for 10 great years, and hope you have as great memories of us as we do of you.

Full Transition to Print on Demand
Posted 3 years agoDuring the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has proven increasingly difficult for us to stock and keep inventory of our items. While we have always had a certain degree of backorders and special orders, that has increasingly become the norm, and rather than continuing to struggle to maintain expectations, we are now going to fully transition to print-on-demand for most of our items.
The vast majority of our customers, who have already had to wait 4-8 weeks for their product to arrive, will observe no change in service. Additionally, we will always have in-present stock at conventions, and any leftover stock will be made available for immediate purchase once the convention is over. We will also try to stock what we can when we can, and certain items, such as mousepads and face masks, will be stocked when possible due to the fact they can only be purchased in bulk.
We hope that this will enable us to provide better, more reliably service as much as possible, and will continue to announce what is in stock once a month when our monthly print runs arrive.

However, the course of 2020 and the first half of 2021 has been financially devastating for him. Once robust savings have been depleted, and what would have once been an everyday expense is now a pricey emergency.
To wit, our founder's work vehicle for his day job has been rendered inoperable and will remain so until a repair, estimated to cost $1,300, can be completed. The details, and a place to donate, can be found on this GoFundMe page:

However, our supply has been consumed and our source for such comics has gone out of business, thus ending our access to the comics we were handing out. As such, we will have to end the program. Nonetheless, we are glad that we were able to re-home many a classic comic and hope that we rewarded your patience with a smile. We will endeavor to slip in little surprises from time to time, but for now their presence is no longer guaranteed.
