2022 Hopes
Posted 4 years agoI don't post much, I guess not much has been worth writing about the last couple years.
I was able to get to Furrydelphia this year and I am hoping to be able to start going to more cons in the coming year.
I'm commissioning artists on FA so I expect to be able to post some kewl art as well.
We have been able to keep weekly Furry Poker games going the last two years through Second Life. I know SL is really old but that means you can run in any old laptop and it's free! Any frankly, it's way more capable than VR Chat, I know.
Also hoping to start having Poker in person again as Covid conditions permit.
Wishing you all a good 2022!

The last year of my life
Posted 8 years agoA year ago this month I was accused of the most serious and horrible crime imaginable, raping a young boy who was brought by his parents to my furmeets over 8 years ago. A crime I did not commit.
After a year of hell, I was completely exonerated in a court of law yesterday.
You have not heard from me for the last year. I was under strict orders from my lawyer not to discuss anything about the case with anyone. Now that it’s over I can talk.
It's been an unimaginably long and difficult struggle. I defended myself against the lies.
I stood before the jury in the end, surrounded by my family—my furry family included--and listened to my fate: NOT GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS!
Still recovering and that make take a while…More later

My Situation
Posted 8 years agoI have been accused of something horrible but my lawyer says I can't talk about it. You will hear about it.
At this point I can only say that I did not do what I am accused of and will defend myself to the best of my abilities. If you are wondering if you believe me and you know me then you should have your answer.

Remembrance for Sasha
Posted 10 years agoSasha was a part of the furry community since 2005. She was a friend to many, mother to some, and well known amongst Pennsylvania and New Jersey furs.
We invite those who knew Sasha to come and share their memories of her life with us, or just to join with us in a time of remembrance.
If you plan to attend, it would be helpful for our preparations if you rsvp'd: https://www.fursvp.com/group/foxfarm/676
Date: September 17th
Time: 6pm - 9pm
Where: Fox Farm
2724 N Old Bethlehem Pike
Quakertown, PA 18951
P.S. If you have photographs of Sasha that you'd like to share, please send them to kfenske[at]fensys.com so they can be printed and displayed during the remembrance.
We would like to add that there is also a candlelight vigil being held in Pittsburgh (where Sasha lived most recently) on September 19th. Details on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Sashatigress?fref=ts

Cigarette Ads
Posted 10 years agoI've been posting some old time cigarette ads converted to furry characters. Practicing Paint.Net and other graphics techniques. It's been a lot of fun so if anyone has an old ad in mind they'd like to be furrized, sent it to me and I'll see what I can do. Can be a cigarette ad or for some other product (ie. Cars, Soap...)
First week of May
Posted 10 years agoCouple things I'm doing
1. Going to FurryCon (Game of Con Chairs) in Rochester. It's going to be small this year cause of conflicting cons but it was fun last year so if you're free Memorial day weekend, take a look. www.furrycon.com. Somacat will be the King this year!
2. Anthrocon - Going this year but staying outside the city. Worked well last year and make AC cost half as much as well as avoiding elevator madness.
3. Started bi-weekly mid-week meets here, next week it's Dinner & a Movie theme. www.surple.com to RSVP

Memorial day con
Posted 10 years agoSoma and I will be headed to Rochester NY on Memorial Day weekend, May 22-25.
There's a unique con there named FurryCon but called "Furry came of Con Chairs", http://furrycon.com/.
It's unique because there is a funning contest that's a bit like Game of Throne that runs the whole con. We are assigned "Houses" and we compete to gain the most "influence". The furry with the most influence in the house with the most influence wins the game and becomes "King" and guest of honor for the next con.
SomaCat won this last year so he's returning King and he's got some orders "Catnip for everyone!".
If you're interested check out the web site and if you go maybe we can break bread together case Rochester has the best BBQ place I've ever seen.

Fox at a con?
Posted 10 years agoI just had this idea, would you go to a con where the guest of honor was a real pet fox that someone brought for everyone to see and maybe play with?
I sure would and I imagine a LOT of furs would. Would be great if someone did that.

Fursuit
Posted 10 years agoI finally made a down payment for a fursuit. Still working out the details but excited about it.
Gonna be some kind of fox but not sure about the details after that.

Fox den
Posted 10 years agoFor years I've been aware that foxes live here. Tried tracking them after it snowed but never found a den. Yesterday Soma and I tracked for a long time and eventually found the den in a completely different place than we expected.
Have to keep any eye open to see him/her and if pups in spring.

Gum question
Posted 11 years agoFive (5) Gum has questions on their wrappers. The latest one is "What is the best gift you ever received". This is a really hard question to answer but I'm thinking about it. Is there anything I have to this day that was a gift? Walked around the house looking at everything I have and this is what I have that was a gift and I like that I didn't buy myself:
1. Animalympics cell from SkippyFox
2. Evil Robo Kitty badge from Kittrel
3. Small childs rocking chair from my mother.

SomaCat
Posted 11 years agoIt's approaching 9 years Soma and I have been together and it's been great for both of us. Soma is always there where I need him and I miss him when he's not so we're making the relationship more permanent. I've asked him to move in with me. Now this is complicated because he only lives 10 minutes away with his parents. He's always lived with them, except for a very short period, so they like and expect to have him around.
There's no real hurry in this but I want to move in that direction. So, we're working though alternatives concerning our long term living situation. There are a number of options;
1. Moving into a spare room is out because there currently aren't spare rooms and he needs absolute quiet to sleep so any of the existing rooms wound't be quiet enough.
2. We've talked about a multi-story "tower" addition on the side of the house. This is possible but complex, expensive and perhaps too difficult for Soma and I to do ourselves.
3. We're also talked about buying a separate property to develop and eventually move into. One plus to this is that the current place is a lot of work to maintain. We like the Poconos, Western PA and our West in Utah or California. These places are too far from friends and family though. We continue to look locally but nothing yet.
4. Cat has discussed building a "cat castle" since forever. This has become more of a Gothic cottage idea. It would be near the house and give him and advantage of the quiet of being in his own place while just step from my house. This is also a smaller, more manageable project so it's realistic.
I'll write as we do more thinking / research.

Dental implant
Posted 11 years agoI'm up at 5:30 in the morning which isn't abnormal for me these days. Been having trouble sleeping last couple months and seldom sleep till 7 am. This started with a flu two months ago and also with me going into a depression.
At 8 am I'm at the oral surgeon to start a tooth implant where I lost a tooth a year ago. I haven't done one before but I understand that they cut and open up the gum then drill and insert a socket into the jaw bone. This is gonna hurt, they've given be prescriptions for Percoset and other stuff to deal with it. So, I can't eat solid food for a few days and I'm not gonna be comfortable. I've been meaning to loose pounds but this isn't a good way to do it.
Trying to keep these posts brief to make them bite sized.

Journaling
Posted 11 years agoTen years ago I started writing in LiveJournal. When Facebook took over and LJ started to die there's want's anyplace to go and see what my friends where up to or to share what I was up to so I quit. I'm going to try to start again here and get in the habit of doing this every day.
A lot has been going on with me, not all of it good. Basically I think I'm suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) because two winters in a row now I've gone through debilitating depressions. This manifests itself in many ways but the most difficult one is facing my own mortality and thinking about what it means when I get old and die.
Now a lot of people I know are younger so they might not be able to "get" this but I'm turning 55 in a couple weeks and statistically I've got 20-25 years left. This means I'm 2/3rds of the way and this is scary. This scare had been very effective at helping me quit smoking because I sure don't want to shorten the time. I have gotten a full medical check and I'm in pretty good shape so that's been good news.
Many questions present themselves including;
Have I accomplished what I want to?
What will be my legacy?
What should I do for my son, family & mate?
I could write a LOT about what I've been been going through but you get the gist.

Con report -Just attended FurCons "Game of Con Chairs"
Posted 11 years agoJust got back from Rochester where the "Game of Con Chairs" con was held. About 300 furs registered and the idea is that besides being a con there is a game running through the whole con.
Based on the medieval books and tv show "Game of Thrones" this game is a contest among houses to be the house that gains the most "Influence". You gain this by meeting people, attending events and other stuff.
After that, the person that gas the most money in the winning house becomes the Honorary Con Chair and King for next years con on Memorial Day Weekend.
SomeCat, Me and others in our house come up with a strategy that meant that one of use won the honor, specifically my mate SomaCat! We were at a disadvantage because we has less members that some of the other houses.
The strategy we developed had two parts
1. In the first part we made a pact to join with another house so we would have more points combined than the other single houses. What this meant is that although our house didn't get the most Influence points, our combined houses did so the winner was chosen from our houses.
2. We all pooled our money and let our leader, Roxy, decide which member would get all the money, he choose SomaCat. This worked so SomaCat won!
This strategy isn't going to work next time cause people will learn from this time so a new plan will be necessary.\
It was a great idea and we enjoyed both the Con and Rochester however the complex game had some hiccups and a lot of refinement will help it be better next year. I have some suggestions I plan to make and am also offering to join staff because I enjoyed it and want it to succeed as a game. In many ways there are too many cons now so maybe focusing this more of a furry game and less on a general con would make it a unique event.
I also turns out I'm good at sword fighting and won every match, who knew?
