Just something that has come up once or twice; yes here my username is LupusVentus, which is Latin, Lupus meaning wolf and Ventus meaning wind (or air). The name means WindWolf. I would have made that my name when I joined FA, but it was taken (no surprise there), and I wanted to test how LupusVentus looks. I do not like the name LupusVentus. My name is WindWolf. Do not call me Lupus (you're pretty much calling me "wolf", or a disease). You can call me Wind, Ellie (my real name), or even Ventus, but please do not call me Lupus. I will not respond to you if you refer to me as Ventus. I am Wind.

I hope you all had a merry Christmas, happy holidays, and all that jazz! Yes, I do realize that I'm a couple days late here, but I spent Christmas day and yesterday with my dad and grandparents, so, yeah. Anyway, I had a pretty good Christmas, but my favorite part was actually seeing my family's faces light up when they opened the gifts I had got for them. This year, since I had a bit more extra in my bank account, I decided to really get some nice things for my family and friends; I even made my dad tear up a bit when he opened the snowglobe I got for him with some pictures of my younger siblings and I inside.

It was good. Very good. I even got some nice things myself (so many books! I love it!), and a big thank you to my LDS home-ward for (unexpectedly) helping us out a bit. Without them we might not have even had much of anything for Christmas. Yup, it was very nice. I "almost" got an airbrush too, which my dad said he couldn't get for me because it was too expensive (but then he did get me some flies and a fly fishing vest, which let me tell you are not cheap in any way), so my grandpa dug up an old nossle and hose he had buried in his basement. It needs some cleaning up, and of course I'll have to buy a compressor, but it looks like it might work and that'll really help me when making fursuits.

Speaking of fursuits! I am busy up to my gills! Yup, today I gotta start a commissioned mask (I will be starting it today, gosh dang it!), and I am going to start my own new WindWolf suit very soon as well (I'm very excited for it), not to mention finish a couple masks I intend to sell, and Tes and I will be collaborating again this year, something really awesome this time (not that Deimos wasn't awesome, he was incredible)! I'm not giving anything away just yet, but just know that you should be excited. Very excited. XD

I'm freeeeee!!!!! ...for now. I just finished my last two finals earlier today, and my brain is fried. Luckily I was able to recuperate myself a little bit my means of a Dr Pepper and about two hours worth of Invader Zim episodes (although I think I ended up killing a few brains cells that way), but now I feel much better and am free for the next little while. Now, I just gotta finish up my Christmas shopping; I regret that this year I am not going to be able to draw gifts for various DA buddies, but I just don't have any time and I'm unfortunately a little art blocked, the kind where you cant even seem to draw anything to save your life. I'm sorry about that. In the mean time I'm going to work on a little project of my own and will start a fursuit commission in a few days.

I am having a very difficult time with fursuits lately.

Here's the deal; I'm making a lioness mask but the fur I had was 1, too long and didn't shave right, and 2 not the right color. So I went on Mendel's and ordered a yard of butterscotch plush fur, which they say was damaged so I switched it for goldenrod plush fur.

It is orange! I opened the box, took one look and said "this is not "goldenrod", this is bulls***." I cannot use it.

So, if anyone wants a yard of "goldenrod" (orange) plush fur from Mendel's I'm offering it for $15.00, payment sent through Paypal (plus $5.00 for shipping, less than I paid). It was only just opened from it's box not even ten minutes ago and hasn't been used at all. It is very nice quality, it just isn't the color I need in the least. Okay, so I'm doing a few moving jaws, two for commissions (one nearly finished, the other not started) and then I'm going to do one for my own soon-to-be suit, but the problem is it moves just fine and works pretty well, until I fur it. I even cut the pattern for the fur with the mouth open as wide as it can go to assure that the fur won't just hold the jaw together, but for whatever reason the fur clogs the jaw's movement so that it won't close very well (or at all).

Does anyone know how to do a good moving jaw with a foam base (and not a floating jaw, I don't like how those look), or is it just a no-go to even try to get a foam base to have a moving jaw at all in the first place?

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! Mine was... alright. I ruined half my food when the salt shaker decided to go homicidal on me. But other than that it was okay.

To business though, with finals looming and since I'm already working on several fursuit-related items (4 heads and one full suit) I am closing my fursuit commissions probably until spring and I hope I will have a little more time then. I'll be graduating with my AS degree in April, so after that I'll definitely have some free time.

Art commissions are still open, however!

I haven't had something like this happen for a while, but I guess it's too much to hope that art thieves will ever leave you alone, but someone (I've been informed that having names or links ups will get me banned for whatever reason) is uploading my art, claiming to be me. They are not WindWolf. I am and please if you come across them of any of my art please report it if you can.

In other words, I'm ba-ack! Well... not like I really left, but now I'm really back! RoboticMasterMind's computer they sold to me came today (and I am still so incredibly grateful for it) and I've got everything all fired up and ready to go, and that means arts. :D You know, you end up drawing a lot of things when you can't ever finish them for whatever reason, and I've done quite a bit of sketching these last few days, not to mention the tons of idea I have yet to draw out. However, school is still school so I'll have to reign myself in and do my homework before I can do anything else. Uhg.

My computer just died a few minutes ago. The blue screen of death came up, it shut off then restarted, and now an error message that essentially says that my Windows is corrupted comes up and won't allow me to do anything, not even a soft boot, before it shuts off again. I've just tried everything I know to do, and it's useless. I'm using my family's borrowed laptop right now, but since the drives are so outdated and we can't afford to update them (not to mention that it's not our computer anyway) so the screen dimensions are all messed up and I cannot do any sort of art on it (well... I can. I just hate it). I've tried, but it's very unpleasant and drives me insane.

I don't know what to do! I'm $400 short of affording a new computer and neither mom nor dad can help me and I'm a full-time student and don't have a job. I'm screwed. If I can finish and sell a couple of fursuits, I might have enough, but there's really no guarantee of that. I hate using this computer for art, but I can do it if I need to, and any commissions would really help. Any at all. I'm a little desperate.

The blue screen of death came back and randomly shut off my computer for no apparent reason. Luckily I've gotten it to work again, but once again it seems that it's starting to die. I am tired of this game. And why on Earth does this always happen when I'm sitting on campus? That's just weird.
Once again I do not have either enough money to buy a new computer, or to take this piece of crap in to be fixed and I don't see any way that will have enough any time soon. If I can fix my bat partial fursuit, and finish this new mask I've started and sell them, then I'll have enough for a new computer (aren't you forgetting something, Wind? Spring semester will start in January and then you will have to buy books), well... maybe I'll have enough.
I don't want my computer to die on me. I'm feeling especially creative this week (although I've been too busy with tests to do much of anything) and I need my computer to feed my creative fire, and this is the only computer I can use, no matter how much I hate it.
I suppose complaining about it doesn't help, but I just want to give some warning if it does finally fail on me.

In other words I went and saw Thor the Dark World on saturday with my friend. I liked it! In fact I might even say it is better than the first Thor. I felt like it had a bit more character development and cinematically it was very beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I also enjoyed the twists in the plot. I was able to predict what was going to happen though because I pay too much attention to small details, but I think most people in the audience weren't expecting the surprise ending! And no, I will not be giving away any spoilers; you'll have to go see it your self! And I highly recommend it.

XD I'm heading off to class in half an hour and then I'm partying the rest of the night with Tsebresos, UnDeAdCharizard, and a few more friends. I'm excited for that, but still a little bummed out that I was able to complete my Thorn fursuit for Halloween; but I suppose there's always next year, that is if I don't remake my WindWolf suit instead.
I also wasn't able to draw all the creepy Halloween-ish art I had in my head (and some half sketched), thanks to midterms, so if I upload some darker art for the next week after Halloween it's because I haven't quite gotten it out of my system and you'll just have to bear with me.

In other news Manners (my terrible computer) is holding out, which is a relief, but I daresay I'm still in desperate need for a new computer and lucky for me my grandpa gets a deal from Lenovo because he used to work for them back when they were IBM, this means I can get a nice computer for a little cheaper than I'd normally be able to. I still need at the very least $100 until I can afford one though, but at least it's not $300. So, any commissions at all really help!

Yeah yeah I know, this is the billionth time I've needed help (what I really need is a new computer).

Here it is; I've just undergone a battle with my stupid computer (and won, for now). So my trial version of AVG 2014 expired and I went to download Malwarebytes so that I have a antivirus program to protect my computer. Well, when I download Malwarebytes my computer entirely freaks out and freezes. So I restart it and then it's even worse; I couldn't access anything on the desktop or open the start menu. So I decide to try starting it in safe mode and after about an hour of trying to get that to work I finally get on and remove Malwarebytes. It's working again now, but now I don't have an antivirus program. I suppose that my computer is too old and stupid to run Malwarebytes, so does anyone know of another antivirus program? It'd be nice if it was free since I really can't afford anything expensive and I'd rather save my money on a new puter anyway. Any suggestions?

..It's back. Its been a few weeks since the last factory reset I put my computer through (for the second time) and once again it is starting to die on me. I have had it. I am so sick of playing this game like I can't even tell you. And I still don't have enough money for a new computer *sobs in a corner*. I just about chucked Manners across the room this morning, but I figured that wouldn't help at all, but I am seriously convinced that Satan lives in my computer. Yup. I ran a disk check and all these pages and pages of errors and "file is corrupt" messages of that sort came up and then at the bottom it gave a reading of how much space is on my hard drive and there at the bottom it said "666 hidden files". Coincidence? Hmmm...

So, what am I going to do about it? Danged if I knew. Any commissions help, and I'm almost done with a partial fursuit to sell, and it's really really cute. If you didn't already know I'm working on a bat partial for Halloween (if anyone is looking for a really awesome costume) and he should be done within the next week or so, depending on when I can airbrush him. So keep a watch for that! With the money I make off of him I will definitely have enough for a new computer.

So I have just been informed that the Facebook group that was stealing art from me and a number of other artists has been taken care of and the art has been taken down. This is a load off my mind I'll admit. I appreciate that people like my art, but I don't like when someone takes my character and parades it all over the internet acting as they own it. I am the one and only Wind, not them!

Anyway, I'm glad this was taken care of and I'm sure a lot of other people are feeling a lot happier too.

Alright, so I'm sure you've all heard about that Facebook RP group that's been stealing art from artists like me and  Scarlingragdoll666, probably more too, and you know what? that is not okay. Even if they had asked me I would have probably not given them permission to use my art, and especially not my personal fursonas, so this has really got me irritated.

Unfortunately, there is next to nothing I personally can do. I don't have a FB account (and I will never get one, HA!) so if any of 'yall who do come across stolen art, either mine or anyone elses', the best thing to do would to be to report it. I've heard that the people running the group will block you though if you try just a comment telling them that they are stealing art, and I definitely don't want this to become a flaming thing (flaming will never help you but will only make you, and everyone else angry and then they will certainly not be willing to cooperate) but however FB works (I don't know) I'm sure there has got to be a way to report it, and if enough people report or complain they will have to be taken down.

In short; stealing art and posting on FB for RPing = very very wrong. Wind does not have a FB so she cannot do anything.
If you come across mine or anyone else's art please do what you can (in an appropriate manner) to have the art removed by the poster. Thank you!

Welp, it looks like my luck has finally run out. I can't even keep my computer on for a few minutes before it crashes, so I suppose it's about time I consider it dead. So I'll be using my family's cruddy laptop (it's unfortunately, once again, a Acer) but it does have Photoshop so I'll still be able to do art. The display is a little messed up on this computer though, a result of the drives being outdated, but I can't fix them, so if things seem... off, that's why. I'll do my best to make it look okay, but be warned.

Looks like I just gotta buy myself a new computer, but I'm still about $200 shy of being able to afford one. I estimate that I may have enough by December, but we'll see. In which case I need to finish up and sell a fursuit I've been working on, so keep an eye out for that!

Welp, looks like that factory restart I did could only do so much good for so long, Manner (my computer) has started doing bad again, namely by freezing and crashing like it used to. This time though I am starting to get the dreaded blue screen of death. At least... I think it's the blue screen of death... it's blue, and it's a screen, although sometimes I get an error message with it but it changes each time so I couldn't relay it to you. Not to mention that I can't even connect to my school's wifi and sometimes even my own, but internet is a minor setback, what I worry most about is no Photoshop.

Essentially my computer is screwed and it seems that there is nothing I can do about it but to get a new one. Unfortunately I'm still a couple hundred dollars short of being able to afford one. Which means that commissions are very open at the moment, anything at all could really help save my sorry rear.

Right now it's been difficult to get Photoshop to work though, I'm not gonna lie, but if I can fix the display dimensions on my family's borrowed computer and install a better version of Photoshop on it I could simply use that instead of mine so completing commissions will not be a problem.

In short, I am in a rough spot and my only solution is in a new computer... which I can't afford right now. :(

Uhhhgggg. It's only been two days and I am SICK of school. Not that I don't enjoy my classes, I got some good ones this go-round, but getting to and from the university has been a nightmare. So some dumb-@$$ person in charge decided it would be a good idea to change the bus route and now I am without a way to and from school. I can't drive, and if I could it wouldn't matter since we only have one car and my mom works all day, so it's really making things difficult. I'm figuring out how to deal with it (namely by riding two separate buses and switching off at the station) but it has already been the cause of two panic attacks and I am not happy with it in the least.

Also, because of school I am probably not going to be super active. Only two days have gone by and I haven't had time to do really any art and when I do have time I'm exhausted (and will soon be loaded with homework). It makes me sad. My mind is full of ideas, yet I cannot execute any of them. I also have to finish two fursuits, fix mine up a bit, and I'm working on a little hobbit cosplay for when me and my friend go to the Renaissance fair next month so I am busy up to my eye balls.

So, I finally got brave and did a factory reset like I was recommended do do, and now my computer is having no issues what-so-ever. It's still an old piece of crap, but it should hold me over now until I can afford a nice, new computer. The only set back is now I have to re-load pretty much all of my programs, but that isn't so bad; I was smart and backed up everything important and I've already re-loaded Photoshop, the only thing giving me fits is trying to get MS Word back and that is a program a college student cannot live without, but if push comes to shove I can always use Word on my uncle's computer (of which my family has been borrowing for going on 5 years now). I prefer to write my stories on my own computer though, just for privacy reasons (don't want my siblings looking over my shoulder), but that is what flash drives are for, so I'm all good!
And since I am just about fully functional now I am re-opening commissions to help raise some money to make getting that new computer happen a bit sooner.

I swear! I am so fed up with my awful computer I could die and take it with me! Nothing I've tried is working. I've deleted even more off my hard drive, checked for viruses, and bought a cooling fan and it's still crashing. It crashed five times just today! I can't take it anymore!

I don't know what to do anymore. I don't think there's anything I can do at this point; I don't have enough for a new computer and I am at a total loss. I can't even do my art anymore. Just a few minutes ago I was just sitting and working on a little picture and it's lagging so bad I can barely draw and then BAM, it crashed again. This SUCKS! My computer is the only computer in my house that has a Photoshop I can work with. The one my mom borrowed from my uncle (which is the same terrible brand and year as my awful computer) does have Photoshop, but it's a really really outdated version that I cannot work with to save my life; that and the screen dimensions have been messed up somehow and I cannot fix it so whatever I draw will look very off.

I suppose I gotta close commissions now too. I don't want to, I really want to draw and commissions would really help me raise enough money to get a new computer, but if I can't use Photoshop then there's really no way for me to draw much of anything digital, which is my preferred medium. I hate my life right now.

I'm just crap outta luck. I think I'm gonna go draw something nasty and awful, yeah, that always puts me in a good mood... or I might go cry. Crying is good too... :(

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice as to what I should do to prolong the life of my computer before I can get a new one. I have just purchased a cooling fan. It was the cheapest one I could find at Wal-Mart, but I figure I only really need it for a few more months and from what you all have told me it should make a difference. We'll see how long Manners can last (for those of you who don't know, Manners is what I have named my computer).

Alright so, here's my issue; my computer is a piece of crap. And I really mean a piece of crap. I honestly don't know how long it can last, but it is on it's last leg. At the moment I can't afford a new computer even though I desperately need a new one, but I estimate that I'll have enough for a good one around December, before then though I need this one to work. So here's what it's doing; it overheats terribly (I was able to thaw some completely frozen solid ground beef in a matter of minutes on it), it crashes without warning and turns its self off (this happens a lot when I'm doing things in Word and Photoshop), and it whines that it has no disc space despite the fact that I keep all of my music, videos, photos, stories, and art off of the hard drive (it pretty much has no reason to have no space left, it just sucks). Overall this computer is terrible and I've known it for years but have dealt with it until it started affecting my work.

I've cleaned the fan several times, the most recent cleaning was yesterday even, so it can't be the fan overheating and I recently fixed its "not going into standby mode" issue but it still crashes unexpectedly and gets very (painfully) hot. I don't know what to do but it is imperative that I have a working computer, not only so I can do my art (which is primarily digital) but I need it for school. I need this computer to work just a little longer, but it is in some really bad shape at this point.

So does anyone know anything that can help me? I have a Acer Aspire 5000 laptop that, according to a sticker on the back, was made in 2004 *cringes*. I'm getting very desperate right now and I really need some help.
