Personally, I really always try to be the best commissioner I can be so the artist will want to work with me again in the future...for example, I almost always leave a majority of details about a given piece up to the artist like pose and such, and often I just give em my ref and say have at it. The only part of this that concerns me a little and makes me wonder if I've been a bad commissioner is that Kalak's ref doesn't have a crotch shot and I do commission porn occasionally...I always assumed that without a crotch ref, the artist would just go with a normal, flesh-colored canine dick. Thats what the artists I've commissioned have always done. I didn't think he needed a specific ref for it since it isn't an unusual colors or shape...maybe that was a mistake on my part...maybe I'm a PITA to work with but the artists have just been too nice to say so... :(

General | Posted 12 years agoI took my 34 hour reset in Florence KY this weekend and spent Friday night and all day Saturday kicking it with 
aviu and 
adare who live just north in Cincinnati OH. Friday night we went to a hookah lounge and chilled there with a couple of their friends until probably about 3am. Saturday night we went to a local fur meet at the Florence Fundome, and I got to meet a few other local furs including 
jewlz who will probably be building my fursuit.
I put my automotive skills to use diagnosing Rai's Integra...he thought the transmission was going out because it would slip and hesitate sometimes, I figured out that it was just the shift control solenoid that was bad. It should've had 12-25 ohms of resistance at the coil, and his was bouncing between 50s to over 100 ohms so it was quite obviously fried. We went to the local U-Pull-And-Pay junkyard this morning and got a replacement which was reading about 27 ohms and it greatly improved the car's shifting. I was glad I could help and save them some money.
Anyway, as much as I don't want to, now I have to hit the road and do at least 400 miles today because this load of stainless steel has to be in PA tomorrow morning. No complaints though, I'm glad I got to get away from the truck for a while and hang out with other furs which I don't get to do nearly often enough.

Also, just curious, do any of you actually play poker? I do occasionally...1-2 no limit Texas Hold Em is my game. I play at our two local casinos in St Charles once every couple months, Ameristar and Hollywood. Im not by any means the best player but I can hold my own.

My good deed of the day yesterday
General | Posted 12 years agoThe lower parking lot of the truck stop I shut down at last night was all mud ice and deep ass potholes. I spent about two hours pulling two different trucks out of places where they sunk and got stuck and nearly got myself stuck in the process. I saved two drivers tow truck bills. The second one wasnt sunk as deep so it was easy by comparison, first one took most of that time. I couldn't get enough grip on the ice/slush to get him out of the hole. Tried pulling, tried pushing, forward, backward...nothing. Finally with a combination of lots of rock salt and some pieces of scrap wood I was able to get my drive tires to grab well enough to get him out. I doubt many others would've put that much time and effort into helping a fellow driver. I better have some good karma coming my way after this. Did I mention it was like 20 degrees outside? Yeah.

General | Posted 12 years agoI'm really sick of the Skype android app being so ridiculously buggy and unstable. It crashes randomly. It only sends and receives messages when it feels like it. It refuses to show me as online half the time even when I have a data connection and it should be working, then other times it shows me as online when I'm not. It is extremely frustrating when I'm trying to hold a conversation and it keeps doing this shit.
Skype is owned by Microsoft, the biggest software company in the world. Why is it so fucking difficult for them to make an app that actually does what its supposed to, and does so reliably?? And its not just because MS doesn't support Android because its not their product. I've heard similar complaints from iPhone and Windows phone users too.
WTF Skype, get your shit together and release a bug-free update already before I end up breaking my phone out of frustration.

calling Stargate fans for SG themed commission (take 2)
General | Posted 12 years agoOkay, so some of you probably already knew this but I've had a Stargate based commission on the back burner so to speak for several months now. Reason for it being delayed so long is because the artist was just getting into the show, and she wanted to watch more of it to become more familiar with it before she took on the project.

We're still working out details but she's ready to start sketching out a few ideas for me to choose from so its time for me to collect refs of all the characters to be involved. The basic idea is a battle scene of SGC team members and possibly a couple Tok'ra, against enemy jaffa while trying to escape through the gate. This will be a big piece of art, very detailed and very expensive. No charge to you guys for participation.
So if you're a Stargate fan and you'd like your character included please comment below with a ref (I don't want to have to go searching through your galleries for one!) and whether you'd like to be an SGC team member or a Tok'ra. There are 5-7 spots available.
(Yes I know I did this once before but as that was several months ago it needs to be done again.)

Granted, it could be good for our public image if they get the right kind of furry up there, ask the right questions, and said furry is smart and careful in his or her answers.
But I think its much more likely to go down like we've seen too many times before. - I've always related most to canines but I wanted to be original and maned wolves (which aren't technically wolves at all) are relatively uncommon in the fandom
