As the title says, there's only one slot left in the current commission's list. After that one (assuming there is one, if not then in a few days or next week) I'll be updating my prices, so if you or anyone's interested in a drawing now would be the perfect time to claim that slot.

Life Update: College troubles and plans to move

Things are still a bit hectic, but at least one of the problems in rl is slowly being fixed. Dunno what I'm gonna do next semester since it's bound to happen again... This school year's financial aid couldn't cover my classes (despite an employee from the college offices assuring me it should), family forced me to take em anyways (insisting I was wrong various times) and I almost got into a big debt (still not in the clear since there's the last monthly payment in November). If it were up to me I would have just dropped out because unlike my delusional family I know I don't really have the money to pay for these kinds of things; everyone knows college is expensive. The only reason I've been able to pay for it so far is because they've been borrowing money, which at first I didn't get my hopes up for since I've been lied to quite a few times over the years.

I'm planning to move away from here once I have enough money for a ticket (and w/e other stuff I need; never traveled before, so I don't really know where to start); I'm sick of putting up with all the stuff that happens at home and I can't be true to myself if I stay. Regardless of all this, I've actually been thinking about it for quite some time, though back then I didn't really have a place to stay at or the means to move. But as long as the semester's still going I can't do anything about it.

Tl;dr: Forced to take classes, almost got a huge debt. Planning to move away at some point, more focus on my art and freedom with my personal life.

Still busy with assignments. Gotta come up with some pottery designs due this Thursday to make the real deal for next week (also due on a Thursday), plus get started on some paint class assignments, ugh. So I'll still be slow with these, but I'll try to have a WIP done by this week for those who are still around from the last set of slots if I haven't shown you guys anything yet.

The currently available commission slots will help me with food/snacks, art supplies, Bayonetta 2, and/or Super Smash Bros Wii U. Whatever is left will be put toward my moving funds (when I have an estimate on the costs I'll let you guys know).

How the drive went and rl stuff

I guess I should be happy that thing's over with. Overall it was rather depressing since it was meant to be for getting a replacement battery since mine had died out and there was barely any participation, but thank you to the small few that did donate throughout it. With the little money I got I was able to purchase a new (yet rather cheap) battery since it was my only option, but so far it's been working pretty well.

The last part will be up whenever I have some time, because right now I'm swamped with college assignments and stressed from the stuff that's been happening in rl. I'm not sure whether I should keep it to myself or talk about it at some point, but if I feel like it I'll post about it...

I'm going back to my word on the whole growth drive thing: I'm not going to do any more of them until I have a bigger number of followers, because despite what the situation may be, it's just not worth it for someone like me. A friend of mine thought the reason for this one being unsuccessful was because I used a previous OC who was already fat to begin with, but I never received any complaints about that; all I was told was that it'd be best for me to hold it back since tons of people had already done drives of their own (some citing examples with donation earnings as if rubbing it in my face, though I don't think that was their intention, at least I hope it wasn't). I might do other things along the way, but I'm not sure what to be honest.

Regarding commissions

As aforementioned, because of college and rl problems I'll be rather slow doing these, so please be patient and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. If I've sent you a WIP I'll be waiting for a reply before I get back to working on your stuff.

Week 3 begins.

There were no donations during the 2nd week, so I wasn’t sure what to do. A friend gave me two suggestions, either include a teaser of a possible future (assuming there are sufficient donations to reach it) or just increase his weight regardless of it. I’d rather go with the teaser for this one since people might be put off by the latter, though I’ll keep it in mind for the future (ie. starting out with someone who’s already a chub, more or less, since those seem to get more view and notes).

This is the last week, so it’s time to change things up:

A friend of mine suggested that I do another weight gain growth drive, since I haven't gotten any new commissions to help me buy a replacement for my dead one. At first I didn't want to do another growth drive so soon, but I really need this battery, I can't take these recent power outages anymore. At one point I almost lost some progress on a commission from summer since I needed input every now and then, while for the rest I was lucky to have not been doing anything important or just looking for stuff to listen before I started working on drawings. If I had known my battery would die I probably wouldn't have set aside the money from the last growth drive for a Wii U and food on those last summer days (I don't regret it though, as I had waited long enough).

This time I'll be using one of my other chars, Ivol (a whale merman), so that I (hopefully) have a slightly bigger audience than in the past one. Since he's a merman the legs and ass options will be replaced by his tail. In the event that a weekly milestone is reached, he might temporarily have a more humanistic appearance (aka legs/ass, but still sporting his tail; this is still an idea that I'm thinking about so it may or may not happen) Besides this, there will also be an option to help me decide in what direction I'll take the drawings.

The rules are more or less the same as the last one, with a few tweaks:

A donation of $1=1lb added to the character.
The multiplier is activated by an accumulation of $50 each week and starts x2; unlike the last growth drive, this one will stay active until the end of the week it was activated on and can be stacked for every accumulation of $50 reached during the same week (ie. 1st $50 = x2, 2nd $50 = x3 and so on).
Donations will be taken count of from Sunday to Saturday, with the next part being drawn the next Sunday. This will only last for 3 weeks. It's not necessary to donate multiple times in a single week, but it's greatly appreciated.

Before anyone asks, why is this one longer if what I need atm is just a battery:

In case for some reason the battery I found is sold out or does not work (I live in Puerto Rico and despite being part of/close to the US sometimes things take a week or more to arrive, depending on what part of the US they come from).
I don't have an allowance this semester, so I've been scraping by for breakfast or lunch (or replacing it with a rather small snack...).
I don't have a job, nor the time or transportation to get one. Drawing online is basically my job and my only source of income at the moment.

I should have posted this before the semester started, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. My laptop battery is officially dead since 2-3 days ago; the laptop still picks it up, yet it never charges (ie. 0% available [plugged in, charging]). Because of this I'm now forced to have my laptop plugged in at all times and if the power goes out in the neighborhood I'll lose any progress I've worked on...

Just to make sure, inflation will strictly be a commission-only thing. Being okay with it under rare/certain circumstances (ie. a fave artist’s style) does not mean I actually like it or am willing to draw it for free.

I thought I had mentioned this, but I guess it slipped my mind since the first post’s draft was done rather late at night:

- Each daily/progress drawing will be posted around 10AM-1PM AST (if it takes longer, I’m probably busy in rl).

So I’ve been thinking about a few ideas on how to make it more fun for ya guys without breaking rules (a certain site doesn’t allow raffles for these kinds of things, hence why I’m avoiding them) or ruining the principle of this thing too much (such as weight gain teasers; can’t really have those when the character’s gained weight depends on donations) and I think I may have found the answer.

A multiplier.

How will it work? Simple. If donations for a single day are able to reach or slightly surpass that amount of money, all the weight gained up to that moment will be multiplied by 2. The weight that follows the one that was multiplied will only be the normal amount, unless the multiplier’s goal amount is reached again.

Just so this thing isn’t abused, the amount needed for the multiplier to activate will be an accumulation of $50.
I’ll be sure to put a link to this announcement or a short summary of it along with today’s progress once it gets posted.

So I'm thinking about doing a growth drive and atm I'm gauging interest for it via tumblr. If either one of them becomes successful (or at the very least gets started) I'll consider doing an FA-only one down the line when I have the time.

Long story short, I made it a requirement for each post to get at least 50 likes for me to consider starting it up (aka the one that gets 50 first is the one to happen), which (at least in my head) sounded fair enough because that's what more or less some of my posts there get. So until that happens or people start spreading the word/reblogging, that thing's probably going nowhere.

I should have gotten a replacement cable sooner, but it wasn't giving me so much trouble the past few months (until between this and last month)... I'm still able to draw, but my tablet begins to disconnect from slight movements and sometimes either freezes up or completely shuts off because of it. I'll only accept 5 sketch or lineart commissions at the time ($6 and $8 respectively), though I need to make at least a minimum of $20 out of these because the cables I've seen on Amazon so far range from $10-$15, without counting shipping...

But, I'm also having some trouble finding a good one that is able to be shipped over here, as the one I intended to buy ended up having Domestic Shipping only... If any of you know of a good one on there, please let me know (it must be compatible with Wacom Bamboo Capture and have the option to be shipped internationally).

So the adapter arrived a bit earlier than expected (May 30th; picked it up the next day since I had no idea), though I had been a bit busy these past few days and I forgot to make an announcement about it.

I feel like I barely did anything, I wasn’t able to figure out why I couldn’t get in the drawing mood… but at least I tried to doodle. I’ll be getting around to those drawings I planned to finish soon.

Hey guys, sorry for leaving you hanging. I’m writing this out before I get on since I doubt I’ll have enough time to type it out by then. I haven’t been able to get on in the past few days because the router’s adapter broke (it was some old half-broken replacement, but it still worked fine) and because the modem’s in my bro’s room. The good news is that I ordered one a day or two after it happened, seeing as they don’t sell replacements at the stores over here for some reason. The bad news is that it’s gonna take a while for it to get here as Amazon estimated it’d arrive around June 2-9, if I recall correctly… All I can do is hope that it arrives earlier than that, since it’s happened before with small items that I’ve ordered, but we’ll just have to wait and see. I won’t be on until further notice, I hope to see you all again soon. :(

I’ll be working on some new stuff and finally getting around to some games I haven’t finished (or started yet) until the adapter arrives.

It was a terrible day, I got home late, but either way summer has finally begun for me. Thanks to some commissions from DA I was able to get that tank top I mentioned last night, but that means that slots for sequences are closed for now. In a way this is like a testing phase, since I'm not sure if I'm ready to take in sequence commissions all the time like I used to do before.

At least for two of my classes (since the professor won't be around the week they're supposed to be, so he's giving em in advance), then Tuesday's the last day. I'll get back to drawing stuff this weekend (or right now, cuz tbh I really want to draw stuff for myself again) and finally get some much needed practice.

Commissions: They're still open and that's part of why I want to practice, so I can get better and feel that I can satisfy customers properly (sometimes I feel bummed when I look back at old commissions, but that's just how I am =w="). I'll be experimenting with ways to color in an attempt to find something that lets me color with ease, yet feels fun for me; work without lines or colored lines might come out of that.

I'm now saving up for a Wii U and (bonus) snacks for the summer, I gotta eat after all. I got half of the money (more or less) yesterday from an unexpected belated birthday present, so now I just need to make $180 somehow; hoping to get a console bundle since those still seem to be around and they cost as much as just the console itself (maybe Pikmin 3 too).

As for what I'm willing to draw, pretty much anything that I like (muscles, fat, fanart, just to name a few) so OCs and fanart are welcome. I haven't updated these journals since two months, but I'm already on my new college semester and things have been going ok, yet rather boring on some days. I haven't really drawn many chubs in general lately or anthro for that matter, but I'll try to make some more soon. I've been finding myself lately either trying to get new ideas to draw for one of my classes (Watercolor) or just doodling fanart for a special friend of mine =//3//=, even so there's been some slight improvement and change of style for muscle and chibi drawings (trying to make my own style, sorta cartoonish).

Also, I was wondering if you guys would be interested in getting commissions from me this time of the year? I want to get a few games (like the Phoenix Wright DLC) and buy better watercolor supplies because at the moment I'm getting by with just a small set of watercolor pencils and I'm starting to think that sooner or later I won't be able to do certain assignments due to being unable to use certain methods of coloring (like splatters and whatnot).

As for how things are going, not that well I guess. I still have some designs to finish and a group presentation due this Thursday, photos to develop this week, I need to find the time to meet with my other class's group (since it's also a presentation...) because I haven't had the time to do so due to the activities of my other classes. All of this is getting in the way of being able to draw what I want (specifically the class that requires the designs, Introduction to Graphic Arts; it's not digital art, it's things such as woodcut and other similar methods) because, while the professor rants to everyone that we have to make things we like and not things to please him, he ends up forcing us to do the opposite. He's got a few loose screws and anger management issues, so that makes things worse.
