Why no artists like to do freebies. Aside from some pretty irritating notes of people demanding I draw their sona, people unwatching me when I don't do a freebie fast enough, nobody/few buys anything. Well, I hate to say it, but I'm done. I will be finishing the ones I've already got to do, but aside from watcher Raffles, I can't anymore. I still love my watchers & hope you'll stay, but I expect I might lose some, it's just the way it is..people start treating you badly & feeling very entitled when you try to do something nice. I get it, I like free too...but I'd rather support an artist if I can because I am one. One who had her dreams crushed by everything around her. My parents always told me, you're good, but we don't think you could make it, you can do anything, oh, except be an artist full time. Hope you have a backup job/plan.

I work full time @ a job that pays for things most if the time but that I have less than 50% passion for. This is the real world where everything costs money & you end up paying for people who are less fortunate than you.

Still will do doodles for donating since it's technically not free. I know I'm not a great artist, maybe not even a good one really (I'm not asking for compliments here I know I can draw but that doesn't make me that great) but a little respect would be nice, not even I think I could make it on art full time now, but @ least I draw when I can.

That said, for all of my watchers, what would you like to see me do? More adopts? YCH? What would keep your interest?

If you are lucky enough to have a mate, please consider this carefully, this is written specifically about men, because that's whom I happen to be paired with (a damn good one too) but I'm sure this applies to women too. Take a look@ this person & think about. Something they did for you recently. Was it something you really needed or wanted or something to just make you smile? Did they get something exactly right that required them to REALLY pay attention?

Take a moment to think about how you treat them in comparison...are they asking you for small things that you sometimes ignore? Are they wanting your attention or cuddles, or just for you to be presemt with them even if you arent doing anything specific? Set down that book, tablet, phone, whqtever, save that art piece for later. PAY attention to them. Give them your time, give them something only you can give them. Chances are, even when you are complaining about one little thing you didnt get to do, they've given up a thousamd things they wanted just so YOU could be happy. Think about it, how hard is it to give them a little time, or gift, meal, something they need but arent asking for?? This person would sacrifice the entirety of their life's happiness just on a chance that ypu would be less bored and happy just to be present with thwm....how much more selfless can ya get? Think about what you say & do for a person, they just might be walking on nails so you can have that pair of shoes you wanted (metaphorical shoes), but didnt actually need. They give up everything for you...

This journal is more a reminder for me than for amyone else, sometimes I need to think before I speak, especially when it comes to the happiness of one who loves me & I love in return.

Sooo, remember that last journal about my job?! Yeah, today was super busy, but in the last hour I was there I was told that I could start training for a management position if I was up for it. This would bump me up to almost $12 an hr with a guaranteed raise yearly...as much as I'd like to get out of retail, it looks like they want to keep me a bit longer after all....

I'm not ungrateful for the one I've got...yet I find myself trying to find something(anything) to think about so I won't be depressed that I'm going to be stuck inside until 9:30 @ night. Something to distract me so I can put in my time and just go the fuck home and do the same tomorrow. I'm not really present when I'm there, people act strangely offended when you won't take their 20 year old business books, books that are falling apart or just generally crap. They tend to be mean or cause issues that could potentially get me in trouble. Dealing with people is exhausting. I need to do something else and something that pays better. I can't leave until I find something new because our rent is too high, and well, if you quit your job here....there's no guaranteed new ones, unless I want to jump right back into the retail/public service world again. No degree, no special skills, no jobs have ever paid me more than $9something an hr with no benefits. We live paycheck to paycheck with no savings account and no safety net. I know, I know, it's still pretty decent...still, when I look @ it I think-what the hell am I doing with my life, aside from serving a self-inflicted life sentence for a semi-livable wage? -silence- yikes.


I was talking to my mate this morning though and who knows, between the two of us, maybe I can get something different that pays enough for us to live on. I wouldn't even care if it didn't pay much more than I make now if it were something I actually liked. Ehhhh, we'll see. Sorry for whining.

So far just a regular black cat with orange paw pads and tongue
But we'll see! Soooo excited!

Tax refund came in and I want to use some of it to get a head base, but I am torn between making a black housecat Halloweeny character/ or my serval character OR I have a sweet bat gryphon that would be done on a bird base. Avian or feline why is this so HARD?! Mostly, I'm down to these two because we bought a crap ton of short black fur a while back and we really should make gopd use of it. :3
Black cat/serval would be semi realistic with orange accents, even if I made my serval I dont have ebough time or the right fur to do the spots, so Im leaning more toward Halloweeny housecat.
The bat/gryphon is one I bought from  technojara and would be midifying slightly.
Greenish crescent moon on the back, avain semi realistic head, long bat like ears, and little chibi bat wings (think telephone wings! tiny!), most likely with paws instead of bird feets.

Any opinions I'm stuck!! X.x
