Spring and changes!
General | Posted 3 years agoHello to all who read these! Hoping all is well with you. Things for me have changed quite a bit with myself moving from where I was in the mountains before I was able to finish up my flying lessons. I've about 35 hours into flying and working to get settled here in the new place with income before I start spending ~$200/hour on finishing up the training. Though from the last flight I had, where I was able to take my dad up, both the instructor and my dad (he used to fly) said they were really impressed with my flying. The instructor was new, but he said he was really amazed at the skills I was showing at 35 hours. I guess a lot of that comes with being really careful and going over things mentally a lot. With flying, you never want to fall behind on things, the stress that comes with it is just not fun at all... and I've been there, I ne'er want to get back there again.
So things have changed for me and now I'm in a local where the temps are routinely warmer, though hopefully not the 105F+ that we saw a lot of last summer in the mountains, coupled with smoke that brought visibility down to just a few miles. It was quite miserable living in those conditions without A/C, but that's a thing of the past. Now it is likely to be less extreme (no more -20F - 105F spread) but likely 30-95, though that comes with a lot more humidity as well. So far things are going well though.
I'm still looking for locking down some employment for something where there will be a lot of growth in the future and I'm presently looking at working the power company, with hopes of working at the nuclear plant fairly close by, or something like Space X as a technician. Both would likely require me to move again, but where I am now is pretty temporary, so that's fine. Still trying to figure out which one would be the best option. The power company would likely be in the same state or likely within a few hundred miles while Space X would likely be a move to FL or TX. In all of this though, my moral is high as I look forward to the future and happy to be where I am.
For all that is well for me though, I've some friends that are falling on harder times. Though all the lockdowns, international travel requirements, bad organization at cons and the present conflict by Russia in Ukraine, a close friend in Romania is having a hard time trying to recover the money lost at the cons as well as issues with Paypal going 'oops we lost your money, lol'. Apparently it's an issue with Paypal in Romania that is affecting multiple users and Paypal is aware of it, but presently not sure on when it will be resolved... so she has money from some commissions that is just in limbo and really hurting her present position. She's trying to move into a van and finish it up to head to Greece. So, if you're looking for an awesome artist to work with, she's one I've worked with a lot for a lot of my commissions, please check out some of her latest ~ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/47048010/ ~
I wish everyone well physically, emotionally and spiritually. Always willing and open for chats, if anyone is as well~

December already!?
General | Posted 4 years agoHello all,
Has been a while since there has been any update on things with me. I'm sorry for such, but wanted to see how things are with everyone and also give a bit of an update.
Where I am, there is construction going on, so things are progressing, but the small cottage I'm in is mostly done. No running water, but I've been able to get by. There is heat, insulation, power, internet and other necessities, so with winter coming and snow falling, the most needed things are taken care of. Running water would be nice, but a wet fall mixed with days of frozen ground towards the end made digging a drainage area impossible, so work is shifting elsewhere. There is a barn erected and now the garage is being worked on and presently looots of drywall is going up. All the winterization steps is done, as best we all know... so there shouldn't be any surprises, like there were last year with a water main bursting in January!
Beyond that, I've started to take flying lessons as well and should be soloing this week or next. It's been quite a trip with a lot to learn but the vast majority of it is just being familiar with a new vehicle; however, I can attest that the biggest realization came to me fairly early on in realizing that you really need to have a good flow of things, because you can't pull over, you must always maintain speed. It really seems like a very simple thing, but until it's experienced on being rushed for something and having to push through it, you may have a hard time really understanding it. While it is somewhat similar to deadlines on projects and the like, there are still times there where you can just stop and take a few moments to take a few breaths. It is possible to do the same in flying, but then you'll be extending what you're doing and it will be pretty visible that something wrong is happening.
While I'm still learning, making mistakes, correcting those and learning additional new systems, learning to fly has been a great experience so far and certainly not for everyone. Price of it is one consideration, but also a use for such. Sometimes you may just want to be able to do something and there are certainly less expensive things to learn and do. Just getting a private pilot license will probably end up being $7,500-15,000 for most people and then when you have that, you'll likely still be renting a plane at 100-200 an hour for most light beginner aircraft. I can't say I know exactly where the future is with such, but doors are certainly opening from it all and that is exciting! Though I still keep thinking that many other things are far less expensive (Full gear with season's pass at a ski resort is probably no more than $2,500). And with that said, I do have a season's pass for the first time and will be replacing my 17 year old snowboard this year too!
That's pretty much the abbreviated update. Certainly more has happened, but the most important things are there. How about yourself? Are you pushing yourself to learn anything new or have any fun adventures or goals set forth for yourself? I know a PPL certainly wasn't on any New Year's Resolution for myself. Much joy to everyone~

Spring Cleaning & Moving
General | Posted 5 years agoKinda late news now (will get to why in a bit), but I've moved again. Including the move from downstairs to upstairs in the apartment complex, that makes... 5 times since July of 2016 now! It is always nice to kinda start fresh, though the trouble and coordination of moving all around does make things a challenge. I've gone across country a few times, but was able to keep a lot of stuff in storage... up 2 flights of stairs (couldn't walk the next day after something like 120 trips carrying stuff upstairs on the one day) where I had to move everything and now across a few states to put things in storage to recently across property line from the rental to the place still under construction.
I don't think there has ever been a time where it has been 'easy' per se, there are always difficulties with it, though moving stuff from storage all boxed up into storage is so much easier than packing up said box, moving it, storing it, bringing it back and unpacking it (only to find it was the 'miscellaneous/random' box that you threw together less than an hour before you departed.
Also, I've gone from a 1500 sq. ft. home to a room, then 1000 sq. ft. apartment, picked up a second (primary) car along the way (turning the Fox Mustang into a project car in the process) to now a place with about 1500 sq. ft. of flooring, but the top is barn shaped, so ~150 upstairs isn't really very usable for maybe more than some side storage and the downstairs is cut off by 1/3 for storage/refrigeration for the hydroponic farm I operate. Coupled with the fact that this place isn't done and we have had to move in early as we couldn't get an extension on the lease next door... this feels like one of the more involved moves, but also with the greatest potential. I can look out one door and see a fantastic ski resort about 10 miles away and the other side is acres and acres of open field used for growing hay. On one side there is a river with a part that we have made and the other is an 'off the grid' style house before getting to city limits. So out in the country in cowboy country for me!
There has been a soft push to move for a while and things were getting moved to storage, construction of the barn, house, garage and others were going on, so we had to move stuff away to bring back later. But with being told we couldn't get an extension on the lease, we suddenly had a deadline of the end of March to get out. At first, we were told we could get a 3 month extension, then a 1 month and then the whole thing was redacted... so here we are moving into incomplete construction. The people I'm working with are moving into the top of the barn (read luxury barn) and will be there until their house is complete in what they are estimating is 2 years. Meanwhile, I'm in the smaller caretaker's cottage and don't have plumbing, a kitchen or much else, but it's WAY better than being outside and I'll just have to head to the barn to take a shower, do my laundry, wash my hands, get ice, etc... Kinda amazing to really think about the implementations and utilities we have come so accustomed to over the past 100 years, and in some cases even less!
When the writing was on the wall for the move, the person renting the house called the internet company to cancel the plan... and was hit by a $400 cancellation fee... even though he has a connection on the other property... and when that happened, not only was he frustrated, but he also said to cancel it as soon as possible... so they came the next day and disconnected everything... to my surprise. So it was then you have no entertainment at night from online sources, so it's time to move! Luckily 2 days before this, the heaviest stuff of mine was brought over, so I've been moving more, buying some shelving... that will work... and just kinda organizing things. Apologies to all who messaged me here and elsewhere... loss of net kinda came without warning!
But all is stable now, still much a do, but also much has been done. So there is my little update, but I'm curious, how often have you all moved and are there any good stories from it?

Wishing everyone well~
General | Posted 5 years agoHey all!
Just wanted to reach out to everyone and wish everyone well! Peace, joy, health and wisdom to you all~ It's that time of the year where the sun is in shorter supply and you might be like me and feel a bit down, this time of year. If you're in the other part of the world where the sun is more plentiful, then hello and it would be fun to know roughly where about you are~ For all the Northern Hemisphere peoples, do what you can to find joy in new things, things you do and others as well. I have found it easier in the beginning, but after new years, it can be rather bleh until spring comes. Where I used to live, it was pretty much 33-40 and rainy all winter long with the occasional snow. Rather dreadful and with a heavy cold that could really hit you hard. I've since moved and am not too far away from there, but a new state and higher elevation, so more snow and hopefully a less humid cold. Also there is a ski resort close by, so I can get back into snowboarding again!
In regards to artwork, I have a few larger projects in process and am waiting for things to be done in a certain order before posting it. The artwork will introduce other characters, but they will likely take a bit more minor role in it with Lynia, Raschel and Mihli still being the primary characters. With Mikael being the only son... he clearly needs some attention too! Hopefully soon, you'll be introduced to Mikael's sisters: Laura, Niyah, Konah and Fatima. After that I'm hoping to introduce the estate's servants: Riashi, Lurrina, Rhallia, Krystal, Natallie, Salzhi and Gahdi. All in all there are 15 of those cunning kitties.
If anyone has a want or desire to some commissions with work from other artists with their own characters, I'm always up for hearing about such, so do let me know! I'd love to let some other artists have a hand at some of my characters! And probably would be a theme more provocative than lewd, if your mind is going that way~ Though if I know you well or get to know you... who knows~?
Do any of you have tricks/tips for winter and staying up beat? Anyone looking forward to anything special or recently did anything really big during these times?

Artist's Project
General | Posted 5 years agoThe artist I have been working with to create a lot of the recent pieces is holding an art book sale and fund raiser. More information is given on her page about it, and if you have a few minutes, please, go check her out and see if it interests you :) https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9561076/
Tangible artwork!
General | Posted 6 years agoAn artist I've been working more and more with has a pretty unique idea for some art. She's using kickstarter for the idea as it involves woodworking~ Give it a look see, spread the word and, if you like it, help her out. She's looking to spend any generated funds on a seat with a cushion (she's using a wood seat now for drawing) and a better apparatus to draw. Everything is going to be directly reinvested into her art so she can get even better!
