Mentality
Posted 14 years agoWhy is it so damn funny that a website for mentally disabled adults has a link to "special events"?

Posted 14 years agoRecently Nathan Fillion said in an interview that if he won $300 million dollars he would buy the rights to Firefly.
Well, some fans are taking him seriously, and I'll admit I'm one of them.

DA MOON ES MINE!
Posted 15 years agoAfter last weeks atrocity or the worst movie ever made thanks to M.Night Shamealaghn, I really needed something to help me forget it.
When I first saw it previews like half a year ago and learned Correl was voicing it I was wary, but Despicable Me was !@#$ing hilarious.
If you want to laugh your butt off, go see it. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it in 3D, but it looks like it would have been very cool.

IRONMAN 2
Posted 15 years agoFricken loved it.
I don't know what a lot of people are being so nit picky about.
It's not suppose to be some artistic movie like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" or a unique sense of humor like "The Royal Tannenbaums".
It is what it is. A direct sequel and the next chapter of a larger story. They make that point rather clear in the movie from the beginning till after the credits.
They assume that you're seeing this movie cause you saw the first one.
And its really just the next stage of development for Tony Stark. In the first one we see him open his eyes that he's not the only person in the world and that his actions had consequences. In this one its that he needs to learn to overcome his self centeredness and not take all the burden because of some consequences of his past actions. He learns to accept help from others.

Posted 16 years agoOk, I was a little reluctant at first but I went to see Zombieland and it was quite amusing.
None of the actors really stand out at you to draw your attention to begin with, but perhaps thats its charm.
Though surprisingly they didn't go cliche and use a chainsaw at any point.

Quintin Tarantino you buggery bastard
Posted 16 years agoI want my money back.
Seriously.
Put it this way.
The best thing of the movie is Brad Pitt and he's only, I repeat, ONLY in 10% of the movie and probably says under 100 words total. Even the slaying of Hitler wasn't that good.
Oh sure they pumped him full of lead and then some more, I know he's Hitler, but he's barely portrayed as evil other than the fact that he's given the status of being Hitler. So it was rather neutral to see him die.
I wish a brought a book or game boy or something to play through most of the movie. only in the last 20 minutes did ANY thing really happen.
I was ready to walk out had I not been so blocked into my seat.
Seriously.

Kung Fu Panda Artbook ORDER NOW!!!!
Posted 16 years agohttp://www.amazon.com/Art-Kung-Fu-P.....d_bxgy_b_img_a
I've been kicking myself in the ass for not ordering it sooner. I passed up the time and since then I've only seen the book go for $150 to $200. ACK!
But I'm hoping this is not a falsehood, but Amazon has it back in stock for $30, including free shipping. So if you missed the chance before, get moving the opportunity might not last long.

Star Trek
Posted 16 years agoI have always been a big fan of Star Trek and practically grew up on the movies and TNG, so this was big thing to me and I must say it was most enjoyable. Especially on the Imax, some movies benefit from it, some make you wish you waited for a cheaper showing *cough* Spiderman 3 *cough*.
It was very good movie and though had some flaws, it compensated for that. If I had to point out one thing wrong with the movie, I'd say it was the actor who plays the villain. It felt like a wrestler or ex-athlete was playing the role, though what can you say of the guy who played the Hulk in the first movie, before they decided it was so bad they had to remake it in less than a decade.
Now if you haven't seen it yet, you might feel the same about the new cast of the enterprise, but it works out quite well. It was nice knowing a bit more about McCoy, and how can you say anything bad when you got Simon Pegg splaying Scotty. Though I would say the character with the most uncertainty to him would be Chekov, he can be funny and quirky, but then theres times where they are pushing it too much.
Anyways, go see it, you won't regret it unless you are too stuck up on your self about the laws of physics and the time-space continuum.

I watched the Watchmen watch time go by
Posted 16 years agoOkay... how best to put this.
If you liked the comic for what it is, a message about the morals and methodology of humanity, then you'll probably like this. IF on the other hand you're looking forward to watching it thinking it'll be interesting and a visual buffet, erm...... Okay, a few things. Rorschach probably has the best moments in the movie, but they are spread out. For all thats good, please pay attention to the R rating on the movie. Sex, gore, and a giant blue wang are in the movie. Seriously, i regret going to Imax having to see that in Hi-Def. Aside from when he's in a suit, all but one or two moments does he support an "undergarment" and then he likes to face the camera dead on OFTEN. Luckily we were spared having to see Night Owl's. And you got to realize, aside from some facial details, Dr. M is completely CG, and that means some poor artists had to model, texture and light the blue wang in every scene he was in, and that the director purposely had him exposed and positioned straight on in all those scenes and purposely decided not to cover it for the audience.

Alright, you've been warned. I know the first two movies are no masterworks, but Ace Ventura was funny more so for higher age levels.
But this.
THIS http://www.warnervideo.com/aceventura3/
This is a disgrace.
Its as if the Disney channel has violently dry anally raped the first movies and made it for the viewers of shows like Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
They've already ruined The Mask and Dumb & Dumber, next we'll be seeing The Truman Jr. Show or Liar Liar Liar

Artwork and Classes
Posted 17 years agoBeen rather busy, I know I haven't posted much, if at all here. I try to post updates from what I do in class whenever, though some can't exactly be, like a brochure or something. I didn't even post during break, BUT I do have an excuse, I was working on something but for contest rules I'm not allowed to post it until after the deadline.
Transcendence contest by Shilin on DA http://shilin.deviantart.com/journal/16309036/
I'm kinda glad I've done some of the painting practices I have, when I post it you can see that impression in the sky.
It was kinda interesting cause the base for the sketch all started on my DS using the COLORS program, its kinda like opencanvas but no layers.
Bleh, another term has started for me and its all fast paced. So hopefully by the end of this year, I'll have finished my last term with Westwood if there are no complications. I really wish though my 3D classes were paced out and I could devote more time to them since that's biggest reason I'm continuing classes. A while ago they accidentally scheduled me for 3D class and its prerequisite in the same term and I didn't realize it until halfway, though it seems not my current class is similar to one of those but focusing more on building up a animation. God I still need help on rigging and skinning, those are the two most complicated things.
Kinda wish I had less classes so I can do more self learning, but I rather not prolong my stay in college any longer, I've already added an extra year for taking my time in community college and wasting a semester at a bad school.
