I hate when this happens:

I started out trying to draw my character (pencil and paper for once) and had problems with it all day.

First, I couldn't find a good mechanical pencil (I won't draw with anything less than 0.7 mm), and had to settle on a 0.5 to draw.

Then I only had crappy paper. Found a sheet that wasn't too wrinkled, flattened the creases out, and started sketching.

And the tip breaks. And breaks again. This continued for 3, maybe 4 minutes at which the lead ran out. So I chuck it elsewhere. Grabbed the next one in line, tried again...

Only to rip a hole in the paper.

Needless to say, I wasn't pleased, and am tempted to give up the idea of trying my hand at drawing the old way. However, I'm also a terrible digital artist, as is evident by my 2 attempts to draw Madrias.

But, I'll write a story, I think.

Well, I had one of those last minute moments with the transfer of one operating system to the next. Of course, the digital image I had for a friend that I spent a week drawing got wiped out, so I had to make a new image.

So I drew up a new little image in about 15 minutes.

Just me goofing around with Photoshop for once. Decided to draw my character at rest for a warmup. Might toss up some older stuff, too.

Okay, now that I'm awake, I'll give this a try.

I am Madrias Shade, and I happen to be a Winged Werewolf. Unusual to say the least, but helpful. At a slight 680 pounds, standing easily 9 feet tall, most things don't frighten me. When I hunt, I do so quite differently from most others of my kind, preferring to hurl heavy objects from the sky to kill my prey.

I have dark fur, most of it black save for a few dark gray patches. My mane and beard, however, are white, which has a stunning contrast to the usual expectation. My fangs are longer than normal, but most should have no fear, as I haven't the intent to bite unless provoked.
