Things are going well, just at work every weekday until a holiday rolls by. I dont really post journals much, as im a lot more active in discord. But, hello!! If you're new to my art, nice to meet you, hope youre having fun with my poffletops and bunnies! And if you're a returning fan, you have my love, always. My wife has been sober for 250 days, so im thankful for the science of medicine that has helped her get her life back. Each time she reaches a milestone, I take her to Ulta or TJ Maxx, because its worth celebrating. ♡ I love her very much.

Its late but I felt like typing muh thoughts out and the latest scoop, airing out some baggage too.

Work, class, building:

I've been super busy! Still am, which is why art has been slow, sorry for lack of lewds! I've been working and doing Coursera studying back to back. On top of that, I've been slowly building out an office space at home, something I've been waiting a long long time to do. Hobby energy has been walking through mud lately..but with that space completed, my two end-goals are to produce more art and to work from home at some point. It will be a happy space.

Mental health (midnight rant):

My mental health fluctuates from feeling great to feeling very vulnerable. If I get in my own head i get bitter. If I get financially stressed, I complain a lot. It's a gross stressful feeling and I don't want to scare people away. A good night's sleep can help a LOT with it though. That is partly a solution and a good habit. A bad habit I have not dropped is isolating from people when I don't feel safe around them emotionally. I am very cautious from events online and irl. But I don't want to be like that. Or is there a difference between that being self-care and becoming isolation? Medicine vs poison?

Either way. I'll continue making short monthly poffle comic panels. And I'll try to find time to keep pages in A Bite of Delite posted. Doing what I can between work and projects.

Basically, I've been as busy as ever with irl stuff. Mainly demo work for an office build, trying to create a positive work space for digital art, paperwork, and of course hobbies. I'm trying to get it all done before Nov 10th, no particular reason aside from getting it done before the busy winter season. ALso to fight seasonal depression, which is IN-TENSE for me, I turn into this shitty little hate-goblin.

But yeah, that's uh, what I'm up to! Hope to see yall on here more, meet new and familiar faces, all that good stuff <3

The irl stuff: Going back to work on the 22nd, plus moving between now and then. Already sorted lots of stuff, still doing lots of house repairs and whatnot inbetween. Very excited about the move, and very thankful to return to work. I will live much closer to the work as well, my commute being cut from 1.5hr round trips to about 45-48 mins. On top of that, I have to attend a wedding on the week I move in, so things are going to be intense for October!!

The art stuff: My slots will be closed until I'm done moving, but my Brandt comic pages will keep coming out. As always, fresh pages are on discord and uploaded now in batches to Subscribestar when I get a moment.

As September approaches, I'll be doing what I can to provide more sustainable work for myself. I've been job-hunting and it's proven to be much tougher where it hasn't usually been, due to the pandemic (I know, we hear it every single day). I'm going to be providing more YCH content, more opportunities for comms, and of course the Brandt comic's presence still going strong every single week to keep myself afloat and pay the bills. I want to do what I love, and my current subs make that a big reality, I'm very thankful. Small steps that will eventually help me get to the top of a mountain. My dad always said I should make comics, and here I am, doing the best I can and completely loving it. I hope you are too, and hope to meet more Brandt/Mae fans.

Last time I did milky mondays a couple years ago, I did 15 because that's how far I was able to take it, so I'm doing the same this round, too. Then it's back to mostly whatever comes to mind with the poffletops. I saved up enough commission money to get a copy of ToonBoom Harmony along with some Proko premium lessons for anatomy, cuz who doesn't need anatomy studies in art? Outside of art, I've been unemployed since August last year due to mass layoffs. Sounds awful, right? But I've been able to do things I've never dreamed I could get done, let alone within a year. Home repairs and renovations long overdue, constantly cooking my own food (making gorndon's scramble everyday. Big fan of Babish and Josh Weissman), actual time to play videogames, especially Stardew Valley with my wife. I have also started making honey wine again, which is my absolute favorite beverage to make, even more than to drink. No really, I love making it, if you are a homebrewing furry, hit me up, let's talk <3. Also, studying Spanish on duolingo just before bed. I am fighting depression being indoors more often than not, but it's nothing to be concerned about, I'm in the same boat as many during the pandemic. I'm certainly making the best of things.

Rounding back to art, I wanna thank everyone who reads this, as you helped me get to 300 followers on FA. And Twitter is closing in on 2k finally, 150 more to go. Keep your eyes peeled on there for the milestone, there will be a raffle no question about it. Expect to hear from me more often! And please don't hesitate to comment, I can be very chit-chatty.
