Bueno, paso a avisarles que estaré este miércoles 22, jueves 23 y viernes 24 en la Expo Publicitas con los So Creativos Quintanilla en el stand 653 del Centro Banamex de la Cd. de México (por el Hipódromo).
Particularmente me contrataron con el compa Jorge Break y a su servidor para dibujo y caricaturas, así que si se dan su vuelta ya saben que la tienen.

I´m back!

It´s been a while. Sometimes the main job it´s keeping me apart from FA.
But it´s not bad, really, it´s a lot of fun. I´been working on a comic as colorist, some magazines, books and specially my return as conceptual artist on some movie around.
But actually for the next movie proyect will be on two months so I want to use some time to do commissions too (old habits die hard, you know).
If you´re interested I´ll be around again.

I´ll be in one of the biggest conventions in México City this weekend (March 30, 31 and April 1st)
LA MOLE Convention (called that way of because Ben Grimm aka "The Thing" as the central mascot, but called here as "La Mole")

It will be so fun to join with my old friends from different places of México like Rene Córdova, Jorge Break, Edgar Delgado, Carlo Barbieri, our great friend Mauricio Herrera from Chile, and also the big special guest David Finch from Canada (Top Cow, Marvel, DC Cómics).
After a whole year I´ll be back again, see ya this weekend!!

Today is the Final Contest called "A la Muerte con una Sonrisa" (To Death with a Smile)

Hoy es la final para conocer a los ganadores del concurso Internacional de Carteles y afiches "A la Muerte con una Sonrisa 2011" para el Museo & Fundación MUMEDI del centro histórico de la Cd. de México, con el apoyo de Adobe System.
El evento lleva las 308 propuestas finalistas con interesantes visiones de 147 países.
¡Fui Finalista!
El día de hoy se cierra esta exhibición, para dar lugar al conteo de los votos y así descubrir que cartel fue elegido por los visitantes para recibir el Premio MUMEDI de Popularidad.
Muchas de las propuestas internacionales tardaron mucho tiempo, incluso meses en llegar a MUMEDI, por lo que la exhibición no estuvo completa sin casi hasta el final.
Esto retraso el voto del jurado, ya que no sería justo que algunas de las propuestas que fueron enviadas a tiempo pero tuvieron un largo viaje, no fueran contempladas para los premios.
La buena noticia, es que la exhibición se reabrirá al público en el mes de marzo y la ceremonia de premiación se llevará acabo el día jueves 15 de marzo a las 8:30 pm. Todo esto por solicitud de participantes nacionales e internacionales que desean asistir ese día y requieren de mas tiempo para preparar su viaje.
¿Quien ganará?
¡A ver si se me hace de nuevo éste Año!

Some months ago I entered to the International annual contest "To Death with a Smile", from MUMEDI, Mexican Museum of Design, with support of Adobe Systems & Foundation MUMEDI from México City.
Featuring art pieces from USA, Czech Republic, Australia, France, Spain, Cuba, China, Japan, Korea, Uruguay, England, Switzerland, Greece, Taiwan, Venezuela, Ukraine, New Zealand, Malaysia, Iran, Colombia, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Mexico and more Countries.
I received news some weeks ago, I´m on the 300 finalists! (they received about overage 3000 entries) and my art is exhibit at the museum. The final phase will be the ceremony of the 4 winners on March.
I´m happy but it´s not over yet!

Years ago I watched the short Stop motion movie "Down to the Bone" ("Hasta los Huesos" in spanish).
Directed by René Castillo in 2001, Music by Café Tacuba; and the pretty & popular song "Llorona" (Oh my, what coincidence!) featured by the Death Lady Catrina (Eugenia León).
Now, I can share with you in this pretty Holiday.

Finally in theaters this animated movie!!
Time ago I worked in the sequel of the "Nahuala´s Legend" a curious fictional tale about a Mexican mythological witch. That was several years ago in Animex-2D animation Studio.
Now finally it´s finished the sequel of this adventure in "The Llorona´s Legend" (crying woman), a very popular tale here featuring the old characters from the other movie but in Anima Studios.
I know it´s just my words but this production gets more quality in everything. I´m happy & proud to be part of this adventure again!
I really recommend you watch this if you had the chance!
And Happy Day of Dead Holyday!!

Una disculpa a todos por mantenerme un poco ausente de las Convenciones pero espero pronto poder mostrarles ese proyecto de que he estado manteniendo en secreto por algunos meses. Ahi va en progreso.
Pero volviendo al tema de las Convenciones, regreso a Oaxaca este fin de semana, a la CONVEN´2011 (como todos los años).
