Saving Private Perez...

The entreaty of a mother to the Bad son a Capo (sort of mexican Ganster), to find his good brother (now an American marine), lost in action in the war.
I still remembering that phrase from the script of a movie not filmed yet. It´s about three years ago I worked during the production on Lemon Films Studio.
Also I meet my favorite actor: Joaquin Cosío in there.
It feels so nice seeing that on the theaters finally.
The movie isn´t really a parody of "Saving private Ryan" but a humorous story about mexican narcos in Iraq. and they´re not really commandos (Ok, in first place WTH are those in there?!).
And I promise it´s not an anti-American movie or so.
I really recommend that movie, not because I collaborate in there but just to get some fun.
BTW: Do you really know where Iraq is?, Ha, ha, ha!!!

Bueno, ya me había ausentado un poco de las convenciones ¡y había que regresar!, traigo en la cabecita un gran detalle que quizá luego lo comparta, y pues tanto que nuevamente había olvidado actualizar el journal.
Este fin de semana estará la "33a Convencion de Juegos de mesa y Comics" celebrándose en Cintermex, de Monterrey.

The Mexican animated movie Heroes Verdaderos is finished and it will be exhibit in theaters at 25 of September!! Official release!!
Those who celebrate an Independence Day in their own countries can understand about the big feeling I getting now. Usually we never talk about our own heroes on cartoons or animation so it´s a very good chance to show them now.

The Mexican animated movie Heroes Verdaderos is ready tobe in theatres at 25 of September!!
Those who celebrate an Independence Day in their own countries can understand about the feeling I getting now. (We will celebrate on September).
Usually we never talk about our own heroes on cartoons or animation so it´s a very good chance to show them now.
I can´t deny I´m really happy to be part of this incredible project but also it´s getting a lot of me right now.
The dead line for artworks is close and on schedule, but right now I can´t do any other thing instead the main work, and also means my commissions in line will be delayed again (actually there´s not so many but I´m not okay with this) so I require to all my commissioners your comprehension and a little patience again.
For the remaining days of this month I´ll on heavy pressure to complete my job.

TNT 19´ - Convención en DF, México

The Clash of the Titans
Well, its a “good” movie but before the long weeks ago I though that could be one of the best awaited movies. To be honest I´m not really happy with the final result and I´m a fan on the Greek mythology books. (Well, it´s just my opinion)
This one becomes what in my land name a gross “churro”; in other words just another movie to the non relevant collection stock with greatest effects. Check this:
Original Tale – Kraken is a monster from Viking mythology.
Movie 1 - Kraken is the last Titan on earth under custody of Poseidon.
Movie 2 – Kraken is the son of Hades.
*sigh* And maybe that´s my wrong point of view, because I´m a reader of the mythology and that gives me an expectative about what to see.
Using a sample we can see the Gods in there, they looks more like a medieval Knights than Greek gods, in other bunch things.
I always want to see new stories, original artwork & effects and that´s not means if you need to use an old story or movie then you must propose a totally out limits designs or story. Even the original “Clash of Titans” was not exactly based on the original tale but it looks beautiful & magical also with those tiny effects.
I guess the problem falls on good scripts, so many directors thinks good EFX gives good results but sometimes reaches so far from a good movies (take on the “Dungeons & Dragons” latest movies if you want to get bored).
For a good use on based sample on Greek Mythology you can see & play “God of War” series games. Blame me if I´m wrong.
Someday someone will say enough…

I feel a strange motion of happiness today…
I like to participate in art contests but sometimes you aren't to become winner, or simply isn’t the right time for you.
In last November one girl tells me about a poster contest about the Day of the Dead Mexican Holyday, a curious event called “To Death with a Smile”; obviously sounds good and I’m fascinate with the thematic, so why not? I made my part to get in.
But months passed out and I almost forget it.
Until another friend congratulated me,
-Why? I said.
–Because you're in the final of the contest, dump.
It was a rare surprise but after a good look on the finalists´s list, I simply feel satisfaction on the quality artworks. And no winning feelings on me, after all the choose people comes from several countries as Mexico, USA, Chile, Taiwan, Colombia, Poland, Japan, India, Iran, Korea, Argentina, Slovenia, Australia, China, & Greece.
I just feel satisfaction seeing my drawing in a wall and a surely possibility to get the official contest artbook.
Finally few days ago I went to the ceremony with my girlfriend at Mexico City, a simply curious to see the winners. But the surprised was on me because I was one of the fourth winners (originally it was received 1790 participants).
The “Popularity artwork” award to the most favorited piece by the visitants & judge at the museum.
Sometimes you win in strange moments of the life, usually when you think it’s impossible becoming a winner.
I still can´t believe it. (And I want not wake up!) :D

Recordarán cuando les anuncié que había participado en una exposición/ concurso llamado "A la Muerte con una Sonrisa 2009/2010"; la cual casi sin darme cuenta había quedado como finalista de una selección de 1789 carteles a nivel internacional.
Hace poco decidí conocer la exposición pues a varios meses ya se acerca el cierre de ésta. No fue sino hasta entonces que conocí la magnitud de este evento.
No exagero al decir que quedé impresionado al conocer todos los trabajos y que aun si no llegara a ganar, me siento orgulloso de ser uno de los seleccionados del Museo.
Simplemente entre los finalistas hay gente de México, Usa, Chile, Taiwán, Colombia, Polonia, Japón, India, Irán, Corea, Argentina, Eslovenia, Australia, China, & Grecia.
Si les agrada la temática del Día de Muertos, les recomiendo ampliamente que visiten y conozcan la exposición. (Y sinceramente pueden votar por alguien más porque hay muy buen arte).
La ceremonia de premiación del concurso se llevará acabo el día viernes 16 de abril del 2010 a las 8:00 pm.
La premiación será para el mejor cartel y una votación para el Premio de Popularidad a la mejor propuesta.
El jurado: los mismos visitantes. ¡Conózcanla!

What!?, I´m banned & suspended...
Posted 15 years agoSome days before I goes to Morelia, Michoacán (Mexico) I received a curious new: I´m suspended in my own Deviantart account.
Well, it´s only for two weeks but it was a very rare surprise. I just remember a week before this incident I was checking some options about suggest a +fav in DA Groups, so I made a try using those.

Ok, it´s not the end of the world, and in some days It will work again. As I said to my Mom in my childhood days: I will not to do that again.
Bleh...
Well, it´s only for two weeks but it was a very rare surprise. I just remember a week before this incident I was checking some options about suggest a +fav in DA Groups, so I made a try using those.

Before this year ends I have a question for you, no really a Christmas theme or so.
Do you know or have mentioned about a Mexican wrestler called "El Santo" (The Saint)?
If you know, who or what were his enemies?

Recently I finished another commission (this one to Angel Blackwokf) and I decided to make a video about it. Usually I show those process videos on the conventions to beginner artists & general public who usually ask me about what to do step by step. After all I do art class too.
