Sooo, with Pokémon Art Academy out this week (and my copy hopefully arriving tomorrow), I've been wondering if it's actually worth posting the results to my Gallery.

In retrospect, I probably won't, since I don't really want to clog up my Gallery with identikit pieces that everyone and their mother with have drawn due to following the in-game tutorials. :P If I draw any interesting original pieces with it I might post them here, although I'll probably post the rest to Scraps just so they're up here in some shape or form.

Also, on an unrelated note, I think I'll go back and post some WIP pencil versions of some of my recent stuff to Scraps fairly soon, too. :)

Well, Sonic and the Black Knight is out today. As a winner of the art contest back in October, I get a free copy of the game. The only problem is, it's launch day... and it's not here. Oh dear.

I was told the winners copies were sent out yesterday. I'd known that for a while in advance that they'd only be sent a day before launch, and even then I thought that was cutting it a bit stupidly close.

I could go out and buy a copy then sell the free one later, but then that really is a bit of a hassle, to be honest. Well, that and my Dad'd bitch at me non-stop and call me an idiot for doing so, generally giving me grief about it.

Although, if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I think I'll have to go out and buy a copy. See, I've booked the weekend off work with the intent of playing the game, and seeing as there's no post on Sundays, the purpose of me taking the weekend off is a bit pointless if I don't actually GET the game over the weekend.

I'm not really sure who to be more irritated at, really. To be honest, I really feel that SEGA should have tried to send them out at least a day earlier than they actually did. I'll accept that there might have been some things beyond their control (although that still seems a bit ridiculous, given that they're SEGA and that people can sometimes get preorders early from places like Play.com and whatnot), but at the same time they must have seriously overestimated the postal service. You think they should have gone for special delivery or something if they sent them as late as they did.

Seriously though, as a contest winner, I certainly wasn't expecting to get the bloody thing late, of all things. If anything, I was hoping to get it a day or two early. What kind of messed-up logic is it that people who win a contest months before the game is out get it later than everyone else who can just go out and buy it?

Now I need to find a way to keep myself busy for the next 24 hours and make the time pass as quickly as possible in the hope that it'll arrive tomorrow.

Ugh.

Within an hour of waking up, my Dad’s already managed to totally fuck up Christmas. Basically, it started over our cat.

My Dad basically doesn't understand cats at all (he claims to though since he’s ‘had cats all his life, he's an idiot) and he's really physical/ aggressive with the cat, picking her up a lot etc when she clearly doesn't like it.

So, as a result, the cat hates him.

So she was running away from him moreso than usual today, and my mum said "What, have you been twisting her paws behind her back or something?"

Then my Dad just went off on one because he thought it was some kind of serious accusation, then started saying she's a lousy cat because she doesn't like him, she's a coward, 'not a proper cat' and that he wished he could chase her away for good or kill her.

So to try and terrify the cat he kicked the wall behind her really hard (wooden) and broke it. She was terrified. So then my mum hit him for breaking the wall, and it all turned into a massive row. Then my Dad dragged me into it by trying to get him to agree with him, which of course I didn't.

My Dad's just a control freak. Because me and my brother are too old for him to have any real control over now, he has to terrorise the cat to get his fix. He basically picks her up and holds her so she can't even move. Then blames her and says she's a 'coward' for being terrified.

To be honest, I had to bite my tongue a LOT.
I wanted to tell him that it he actually hurt the cat at all, I'd kill him. And I mean it, I would.
But I'm kinda hoping he'll take me and my brother down to our cousin's next Friday so we won't have to take the train, so I’m just trying to stay out of it as much as possible. >_<

It’s funny though, he says she’s ‘a bad cat’ and ‘a coward’ for being terrified of him. He says she’s ‘ungrateful’ because he’s the one who helped her when she had a leg infection, ear infection, and puts flea spray etc on her. I told him if it were JUST those things, she’d probably get over it. But he just chases and grabs at her CONSTANTLY. He just can’t seem to make the connection. He doesn’t seem to realise that EVERY cat we’ve had has hated him BECAUSE HE TREATS THEM ALL THE SAME WAY. It’s not ‘she’s a bad cat’, it’s him. But again, he can’t seem to grasp that because he’s a dipshit.

Well, that’s Christmas wrecked. Scratch that. Probably most of the next week. My Dad’s childish enough that he’ll sulk and bitch about something like this for ages.

He threatened to kill the cat, hurt her or otherwise scare her so badly she doesn't come back. If he does any of those, I swear I'll have to fight off the urge to stab him to death.

God, I'll be 22 in a few hours. Scary thought. D=

Too bad I'm gonna be spending most of the day in Uni. Moreso than usual in fact, due to the fact I have a stupid group presentation on Tuesday.

I can't actually think of much else to add. D=

Oh well, 22 I suppose, at least that means my wages go up. ='3. I'm also taking the last weekend of the month off for Sonic Unleashed. =3
