Hi, this is  kunoichi Sophia, a.k.a. Mystina or The Waifu. I've known Sofia for over half my life, and I've been blessed enough to be her partner for the last ten years. In all that time, I never imagined myself having to write a post like this.

As you may know by now, Sofia passed away on August 5th. I don't know how much detail is appropriate, suffice to say that she had ongoing health problems that combined into something much worse than anyone had suspected. The doctors assured me that she didn't suffer, and at least I was able to be there with her in those final moments. There's some solace in that, I suppose.

I know this announcement should have been done sooner. There's so much that should have been done before now, but it's taken me this long just to find the strength to get out of bed, or do anything at all.

Sofia was the love of my life. She was my everything. Always patient, gentle and kind. Always willing to give of herself to improve someone else's day. More talented than she herself ever believed, and more beloved than she ever knew. We shared so much, and there was so much more that I wanted to give her. But even though our time together was cut short, I am beyond grateful for what we did have. She's engraved herself on my heart, and I'll carry her with me for the rest of my days, until we meet again...

If you knew her, if you loved her, please keep her memory alive. Let her light guide you in the path of your own lives, and spread the joy and love she brought you to others. And... don't put things off for tomorrow. There's never as much time as you think.

I'm beyond shocked and saddened to hear about Dragoneer. He and I were probably around the same age, which is way too young to be gone.

We didn't interact much at all but the impact he had on this fandom can't be overstated.

So the bird site has had some issue as of late. The API changes have locked out PostyBirb, it seems, and last weekend had its techbro owner responding to what seems like a self-DDOS by limiting user activity on Saturday and Sunday.

Twitter has been one of the two or three main places I post art - here, there, and occasionally DeviantArt. I'm more than a little worried that it's going to end up in the same place tumblr was post-acquisition in 2018, so it's probably time to begin pointing out other places I can be found. This goes doubly because FA seems to have weathered its annual or semi-annual random DDOS'ing earlier this week, too.

Soooo my health situation has been less than ideal these past few months, between having the worst primary care physician possible -- one who would ghost me for extended periods of time -- and finding out that my kidneys are screwy, probably because my PCP ghosted me and as such I went without diabetes meds for a good chunk of last year. As of recent, that plus anxiety and depression have made it difficult to impossible for me to get a job.

I don't really want to ask for handouts constantly, so I would like to do some more commissions aside from the ones I have had lined up for a bit now, so I can cover the costs of my internet, the car my partner and I use, groceries, and other necessities. So I have not been able to get much in the way of normal work as of recent and my bills are starting to stack up, mainly my car note (210 USD) and internet (150) though it would be nice to contribute to rent. The car in particular is used by both myself, my partner and my neighbor, so losing it would fuck over all of us.

I'D LIKE TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT, SHADOW THE H--actually no, this is kinda serious, so. This is basically a rewrite of a thread from my Twitter account.

Any artists who are watching me, please beware of a customer by the name of "RoyhlHero," if he offers to take a commission from you; if he signs up to your Patreon; or ESPECIALLY if he is a bidder on an adoptable auction you're holding. The user in question had, and then deleted, an FA account sometime last month, purely to sell adoptables drawn by  sagestrike2,  dewwydartz and I think a couple of others.

Over the past couple of days, this user has displayed a pattern of taking high-dollar commissions and adoptable auction wins, receiving the art as ordered, and then initiating a chargeback process on PayPal via his bank. In my case, it was for a 200 USD character sheet I did for him of a wolf character; for the other users, they were from adoptables purchased for in excess of 1,000 USD.

The customer ordered a character sheet for a wolf character on December 1, 2021, via Discord. It was based on a commission I had done for him a month or so prior of the same character, which has not been charged back. I started work on around the end of December, and proceeded to complete on January 4, 2022. After that, there was no communication with him, but I assumed all was fine, up until I was hit with a chargeback for the amount of the comm minus fees (around 192 USD) yesterday afternoon, at a time where I kind of didn't have 200 USD to spare. I had to take emergency comms, I might have to borrow money from my girlfriend and our roommate to have enough to pay all my bills for this month, and given the nature of the commission, it's fairly likely that, two-three months from now, the chargeback will resolve in the buyer's favor rather than mine.

His claim was that the bank did it automatically when his card was compromised, which I initially bought, but doesn't hold water, because the chargeback process has to be initiated by the buyer, and the bank then puts in the order on their behalf. I'd have been willing to accept this as an honest mistake had it not been for some digging I did this morning after speaking with a PayPal rep (in short, their hands are tied and they can only forward what I provide to them).

That was when I found out about sagestrike/DesertFox's incident, which makes two. Could be a coincidence, probably not.

And earlier this evening, I saw that this rash of chargebacks from the same user also hit Dewwydartz: https://twitter.com/Dewwydartz/stat.....75807059148805 - for two adoptables purchased recently (about a month ago if my internet searches are correct).

At this point, it seems like obvious, flagrant fraud. Given that, should he try and involve himself in any auctions - he seems to use commishes.com more than other services - you should not take his money, under any circumstances. Refund his Patreon backing, reject commissions, do a better job of vetting names that look unfamiliar than I did. I'm eating crow on this, you shouldn't have to do the same.

Though I compiled my personal logs for disputing the chargeback on PayPal, I intend to clean it up, add evidence as needed from other users should they consent, and submit it to whatever resources would be best for that thing - Artist Beware and etc. This abuse cannot be allowed to go on. As it is, I suspect he will drop off the internet more than he already has, but should he show back up using the same name, avoid him like the plague.

2/16/2022 EDIT: He also has charged back the original comm I did for him, bringing this to 255USD minus chargeback fees (probably 30-40 total when all is said and done).

I feel kinda weird that I have to post this, but basically, it seems like someone was borrowing art of my 'sona for their f-list profile. I'm usually not THAT protective of my art, but using my personal art for your RP persona is a little pet peeve!

Basically, if it's art I made of an OC that doesn't belong to someone else, I'm not THAT picky about using it for yourself; but art of Sofia, being a kinda personal character to me, is prolly off-limits, sorry!

Anyway, to summarize: I know it's silly but Sofia's firmly in "do not steal" territory as characters go. XD I'm flattered if you like her enough for that, but she IS a little bit more personally significant than other characters!

It's been a few months since i talked about it but, for the, like, 2 of you who care:

I did my interview with a behavioral therapist regarding HRT this morning. In spite of my assumptions of the worst, it was not in fact an interrogation and rather just asking some questions to get an idea of my background. I have a second in-person followup with the therapist next week, which is mostly entailing paperwork regarding the treatment. after that comes blood tests to gauge my lipid levels, and another appointment with an endocrinologist, and then i guess i'll be able to move forward to the "actual transitioning" phase of things
