Thoughts from a Brit, Regarding the Death of the Queen
Posted 3 years agoDisclaimer - Mini-rant, and I am not the sort of person who lines up on Horseguards' Parade decked out in Union Jacks and waving little flags as the monarchy ride past; I didn't even watch either of the huge televised royal weddings.
A down mood's not been improved by finding out how many people in my generation are monarchy-hating wankers, celebrating the Queen's death. It's like... what the fuck, you tasteless arseholes?
It's one thing celebrating Margaret Thatcher's death - a racist homophobic woman who caused direct and lasting harm to the LGBTQ community and LGBTQ youths - but the Queen transitioned the UK OUT of an Empire, celebrated the independence of former colonies (even the famously contentious issue of the Troubles in Ireland), and did lots of good work.
And they hate her because 'monarchies are bad' and that the Royal Family is all 'empires' and 'colonialism' and 'built on the blood of yada yada'. Fun fact: you can use the EXACT same argument about the United States and its presidents. Basically ALL countries are founded on abuse and have a history involving persecution and often slavery.
But insensitively hating a family or institution and celebrating a major death in the family because, a hundred years ago, their ancestors and/or relatives were involved in dick-headed stuff that the rest of the world was involved in? Despite the fact that that family and institution have fought to UNFUCK all the problems of the past, and basically succeeded (no more empire, independence to colonies, etc.)? Fuck those haters.
It honestly makes me ashamed that there are so many people of my generation who are such knee-jerk assholes celebrating the death of a widely-beloved figurehead who is responsible for so much good and atonement when it comes to the crimes of the British Empire.

Pride Month PSA - Fantastic Beasts
Posted 3 years agoLike many people born over the last thirty years, I grew up reading and loving Harry Potter, and like many people in the LGBTQ community, I was at a loss when JK Rowling revealed herself to be virulently and unrepentantly transphobic; a large part of my childhood had become irreparably tainted.
As excited as you may be to see the new upcoming Fantastic Beasts film, I implore you not to go. As Rowling is the creator and screenwriter of this series, every ticket that is bought equates to money in the pockets of a horribly bigoted woman who continues to promote hate speech.
I am sure that none of you would ever dream of giving money to a racist like Donald Trump. Please understand that transphobia is just as vile as racism; even in the UK, transphobia leads to discrimination, harassment, assault, suicide, and even the murder of transgender people, with these numbers ever rising due to the political climate over the last six years.
If you wouldn't feel comfortable lining the pockets of an outspoken and unrepentant racist, then please think before giving any more money (by way of book, DVD, or ticket sales) to an outspoken and unrepentant transphobe.
Thanks for reading. x

PSA - A Big Deal
Posted 3 years agoA lot of people don't seem to get why LGBTQ+ people consider it a 'big deal' when a public figure (respected or otherwise) makes a transphobic remark; especially if the person being transphobic has done good work elsewhere. I'm sure Stonewall could do a much better job than I, but here is the best I have: denying who transgender people are is to deny their existence and that they have any value.
Whenever someone famous makes a transphobic statement (e.g., JK Rowling), there are inevitably a host of celebrities (e.g., Jonathan Ross, Graham Lineham, et al.) who go to their defense with the argument that it is 'their right' to believe and promote what they are saying, and even some otherwise reasonable people believe that to be true.
When it comes to transphobic statements, try replacing 'transgender women vs true women' with 'women vs men', 'gay people vs straight people', or 'black people vs white people'.
-- "The rights of men are going to be affected if women are afforded the same rights."
-- "We can't let gays use men's bathrooms because they might molest our kids."
-- "I don't think blacks should be allowed to compete against whites in sports because they have a natural biological advantage."
How bigoted do those statements sound with the groups changed? And if it were those statements being voiced, then how many people would voice that it is the speaker's 'right' to believe and publicly promote those statements?
Denying the validity of transgender people is no different than denying that women, gay people, or black people are their own people: it is denying a core part of their being. Each of these oppressed groups deserve the same rights and treatment that the majority enjoys.
So the next time a public figure (who may otherwise have a 'good track record') makes a transphobic statement, please don't be tempted to just brush it off, and please remember this post; if you wouldn't brush off someone making an intensely sexist, homophobic, or racist remark, then you shouldn't do so for a transphobic remark. And do your best to enlighten other people to why this is an issue.

COVID PSA! - Restrictions Being Lifted
Posted 4 years agoWhile this relates to the current state of affairs in the UK, it is applicable worldwide.
In the UK, the Housing Secretary recently announced that on the 19th of July, they're going to be dropping all legal restrictions regarding to COVID, masks will be optional, and kept using the phrase 'personal responsibility' about whether or not people will choose to wear masks; despite the 7-day average infection rate throughout May being 1,900 new cases per day, and it is now standing at a 7-day average of 18,000 per day.
My partner told me that ''"Personal responsibility" is a Republican code-phrase meant to mean "fuck you we won't help."', and that's exactly how I interpreted it.
The head of the British Medical Association, the most senior medical authority in the UK, 'called the jump in cases alarming and said: "It makes no sense to remove restrictions in their entirety in just over two weeks' time." ... [and] for the continued use of masks and new ventilation standards, among other measures.'
Even when restrictions are lifted wherever you may be, stick to avoiding public transport, follow the previous guidance on hand sanitation, and wear your mask. I trust like the head of the British Medical Association - a clearly-experienced expert in his field - A LOT more than I trust a right-wing dog whistle that says "everything is fine" when it's clearly getting much worse, and it is in the experts that "people are fed up with" that we need to place our ultimate trust; heads of major medical and scientific institutions, rather than politicians with agendas (and often, as far as the UK goes, little-to-no experience in the field/ministry they're officially in charge of).
It may not be as fun as going to festivals and huge parties with your family and friends, but by avoiding big gatherings, social distancing, wearing your mask, and using hand sanitiser, you are doing your part in keeping everyone else safe, as well as yourself.

Pride Month PSA!
Posted 4 years agoDuring Pride Month, a LOT of companies and groups like to display rainbows and claim that they are pro-LGBT. When the month ends, the majority of that highly-marketable spiel ends.
I have been avoiding the news over the last few years for my mental health, but I recall the Conservative Party (the UK's main right-wing party, for foreign followers and friends) during elections in the past ten years and during past Pride Months, where they claim that they are pro-LGBT in order to get good PR.
Under Thatcher, the Conservative Party in Britain introduced Section 28 into law, banning local authorities from 'promoting homosexuality', which led to a great many support groups and organizations being forced to close, and it wasn't repealed until 2003, after successful lobbying by Stonewall UK.
I remember when I was in sex education in secondary school and I asked about LGBT matters, and the teachers said that they couldn't so much as discuss it due to the then-current law.
If a company or group are claiming they are pro-LGBT or splashing rainbows over everything this month (Conservatives, Unilever, you name it), don't just accept it at face value; look at their current and past policies before believing that they ARE indeed a pro-LGBT organisation.
To round off: General Elections may still be a few years away, but next time you head off to vote, remember the support you showed during Pride Month. If your support was sincere, then don't won't vote for parties that have historically persecuted LGBT people and currently engage in a mixture of open and/or discriminatory dog-whistle politics.
In summary: don't vote Republican, Conservatives, UKIP, DUP, or whatever right-wing equivalents exist in your country. You might not like the Democrat, Labour, Lib Dem, or left-wing candidates (as was the case with the widely-reviled Jeremy Corbyn and the equally dislikeable Hillary Clinton), but you need to look at the party as a whole, not just the head. Not voting for a pro-equality party just because you don't like their candidates led to two bigoted blond buffoons effectively (or rather, ineffectively) running the Western World.

Kickstarter - Pokémon Artbook Shout-Out (Ends July 1st)
Posted 4 years agoA shout-out/boost here to artist
barasaurus, who has launched a Kickstarter for an unofficial Pokémon artbook around the original 151 Pokémon from Red/Blue/Yellow!
The finished product will be a 8.25x8.25" art book with two pages dedicated to each Pokémon; the right page will be a full-sized piece of artwork, redesigned with a really cool style, while the left page will contain a description of the Pokémon, along with re-invented lore, facts, trivia, and how they would exist in Earth, along with artist's notes and a variety of concept artwork.
He's about halfway to his goal with only 27 days left (as of this post). If the artbook sounds interesting (or even just kinda interesting) to you, check out the link below to find out more and see images of the layout and artwork. If you like what you see? Totally donate to the Kickstarter and help fund this awesomeness before the timer runs out!

200th Submission Celebration and Half-Price Sale!
Posted 4 years agoIn the lead-up to my 200th submission, I've posted a few new colourings from things I really like (Cuphead and Shantae, despite their respective flaws), and for the last five submissions until I hit that magic number, I'm going to be tackling pieces from things I love!
The subjects of the upcoming celebration pictures are as follows:
#193 - Undertale [NSFW]
-- Featuring who is objectively the BestGirl from my favourite video game of all time (with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild coming in at #2 and TellTale's the Walking Dead at #3)!
#194 - Gravity Falls [SFW]
-- I know I'm getting onto the bandwagon rather late, seeing how I've just finished the first season, but I've really been loving Gravity Falls; good animation, very likable characters, and a nicely dark sense of humour!
#195 - Adventure Time [NSFW]
-- While I never got much further than season one, I did like what I saw of Adventure Time and I love the adorableness that is Princess Bubblegum x Marceline the Vampire Queen!
#196-197 - Splatoon [NSFW]
-- Splatoon is one of my favourite (relatively) new IPs out there and I'm so stoked for the third game in the series! Great world-building, inventive art direction, addictive gameplay, and inkredibly funky-fresh tunes! If you have a Switch, then you should totally get yourself a copy of Splatoon 2 and get your woomy on! The second Splatoon pic (#197) is an awesome alternate colouration of the first one!
#198-200 - Steven Universe [NSFW]
-- To round off the celebrations, a special three-part series of images featuring characters from my favourite thing of all time, Steven Universe! While there are a lot of fan-favourite characters in this truly awesome show, I know the trio of Gems in this picture series are particularly well-loved! (BirdMom for life)
In addition to these celebratory pictures, I have also decided to launch a half-price sale (excluding comics) when it comes to colouring commissions. If you're interested in getting something coloured, do check out my commission info page and my handy li'l commission info sheets!
Peace out! x

Suggest a Commission for Colouring!
Posted 8 years agoIn an effort to expand my gallery and because I really enjoy colouring, I will be taking suggestions for pieces of art to colour from these artists: Asthexiancal, Bhawk, Coyotek, Ebonyleopard Furronika, IanRSoulfox, Mar the Dog, Rav, SlashySmiley, and Tooners.
If you are interested, please leave a comment below link me to the commission you would like to see me colour.
Rules:
1) I may turn down a suggestion if it is not quite my cup of tea (mostly usually relating to certain genres, such as diaperfurs or vore, but I'm generally open-minded).
2) No cub stuff please, as it's ridiculously illegal in the UK.

25-75% Off Colouring Commissions!
Posted 9 years agoI'm doing a little research and planning for an erotica book; anyone who answers all the questions (posting them here as comments in this journal) will be elligible for a discount of between 25-75% on colouring commissions (25% for the by-default cheaper commissions, up to 75% for by-default expensive commissions).

iii) Would you prefer the short stories to each have a different level of extremeness (IE, one focusing on vanilla sex, another centering around hardcore BDSM, another in between) OR would you prefer all the short stories to be the same level of kinkiness?
||||) Would you prefer reading this as a physical book or digitally as a PDF? If/when written, it should be available as both.
five) Would you prefer a wide selection of different stories in different settings and with different characters OR would you prefer the stories to follow a core group of characters?
VI) Do prefer porn with story, porn with humour, porn with humorous story, OR just full-on porn?
?) Special bonus question! What is your favourite setting, sexy species, and kink? :)
Thanks in advance, folks! :)

$5 and $10 Commission COLOURING!
Posted 12 years agoHey all!
I've decided to start taking colourings commissions - visa vi, where I clean up and colour a black-and-white image. Examples of this are... well, most of my gallery!
Simple images will cost $5 to be coloured. Examples:
- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9115928/
- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7642270/
Complex images and comic pages will cost $10 to be coloured. Examples:
- http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8141088/
Payment:
Upon my approval of the piece to be coloured, I will send you a Paypal invoice - make sure to include your address when sending commission details!
PLEASE make sure you have permission for me to colour your picture (IE, you own it or commissioned it) - I know some artists can be picky about having linework coloured.
All that said, I'm all open, FA! Give me your best! :)

Commission Removals
Posted 13 years agoAlas, I have fallen afoul of AUP Violations. And, as a seeming trend, Sonic has been targetted. Poor Amy Rose.
My full gallery is still available on Inkbunny, and I will continue to allow appropriate works here on FA.
For Sonic and Kit Cloudkicker lovers, do visit here to keep abreast of thing: https://inkbunny.net/majike

Help Save a Dog's Life Today!
Posted 13 years ago[Repost from Pornography] - Do help him!
So everyone knows about my dog, Drake, by now.
He was diagnosed with hip subluxation a few months ago, (at only one year of age), which basically means that his leg bones aren't connected to his hip bones, like, at all. His back legs are primarily being held together by muscle mass. He was still able to walk somewhat, using both front legs to hold himself up while precariously balancing on his back legs.
He probably could have kept going on like this for a few more years; had my mother not ran over his strongest back leg the other day... slowly. Now he is only able to use one back leg, but it is so weak and flimsy he can only manage to stand on it for a few moments before it gives in and he collapses.
He's now officially crippled, and will have to be put down soon, because I can't bear to see him suffer like this, wallowing in his on waste because he's too weak to stand up and potty.
His absolute last and only hope is a doggy wheelchair.
The main problem with obtaining this device is that, due to unforeseen circumstances involving vehicles, I am utterly and completely broke; to the point I can't even take myself to the doctor.
So please, please open your heart and donate to this cause today. I can't even stress how important every single dollar is to Drake, and to us as a family.
We only need about $500 to order his wheels. If you can't afford to donate, I ask that you repost, tell your friends and family- anything.
My Paypal is terranslave@hotmail.com.

Posted 13 years agoIn order to drum up interest for low-priced colouration commissions, I'm hereby opening up 10 slots for free colourations of black-and-white art pieces, as seen in my gallery!
The one rule is that you MUST have permission for me to colour the art piece, such as the piece being an owned commission, it being your own piece of art, or the artist has given permission for the piece to be coloured - just so I don't get into trouble with anybody!
There will be a maximum of three slots per person, but I may relax this, depending on how much interest this recieves!
Send me a note or a journal comment if you're interested, along with a link to the art piece in question!
