And so Titan has fallen again!
Posted 6 years agoI really don't post much in here do I?
There isn't much to talk about other than how my group has beaten the most up to date raid content in FFXIV.
Video: https://youtu.be/4TVMnDW-y1o
I have been streaming a lot more often, typically raid nights, being Friday and Saturday nights at http://www.twitch.tv/MakotoYoushida
On occasion I play other games as well, normally at night. More recently Super Mario Maker 2, Neir: Automata, and hopefully ATLAS when the RP server I'm on reopens.

Invasion from Canada (Eh?)
Posted 7 years agoI will be attending IFC Tomorrow and Saturday. Not Sunday since I work that morning and by the time I get out there would be closing ceremonies. This is my first convention in over half a decade. I'll likely be hanging out in a gaming area if I'm not attending a panel.
Eeeh, not that anyone cares but...
Posted 7 years agoI don't think I ever posted my switch info here yet. I picked up Mario Kart 8 (finally) and I'm highly likely to pick up Smash Bros when it released in December.

So, working on my license...
Posted 8 years agoSo
zoeyanelyn and I went to the BMV (yes, BMV becasue Indiana HAS to be different) to see about getting me licensed to drive. My old license had expired over ten years ago and it was from Virginia. The clerk gave me two options. The first was to see if the sate of Virginia still had me on record despite my license being expired there, the other was to get a permit as if I were a new adult driver. After some deliberation with Zoey we decided that the permit route would be better as I would have to take a driving skills exam anyway and I was seriously under practiced in driving. This means for six months she (or a friend that's over 25) has to accompany me while driving, which I do not think that is a problem since Zoey and I are together whenever we go out anyhow. The only issue is night time driving, which I have to log 10 hours of, and I kinda don't feel comfortable in our particular car driving at night.
So, 6 months, 50 hours of logged driving, and an exam, and hopefully before my next birthday I can be licensed. It's about damn time.

Back you wet demon!
Posted 9 years agoWow, picture idea based on RL circumstance, don't think we'll ever see it come to fruition though. Zoey throwing a towel at a wet and naked Makoto shouting "Back you wet demon!" with the mouse shouting "REEEEEIIII!"

I mean, wow, what a game!! It's understandable to see a lot of fanart popping up on these sites. I highly recommend getting it. It might be short, but that really adds more to the game's charm. Honestly, after finishing it last night I kinda feel like I'm experiencing withdrawal.

Posted 12 years agoMy girlfriend
zoeyanelyn Is taking commissions. Right now she has a special on St. Patrick's Day Chibis, one of her preposes for $5 or a custom pose for $7. Her regular commissions are 25% off regular price until Sunday, March 17.

Opinions
Posted 12 years agoThis will kinda be like a self-administered Q&A thing. You could take these and answer them on your own, I'm a little curious to see people's opinions on these.
How do you feel about Pre-pose commissions/auctions?:
It depends. When it's a commission it's alright if it's cheaper than a normal commission rate, considering that the artist is reducing the amount of input that the commissioner had on the piece. As an auction it would depend on the quality of artwork the artist normally puts out. If they do most of their commissions on an auction basis then it's understandable, but if they have solid pricing on normal commissions then I feel a pre-pose image should be a special offer, not to be auctioned off. As far as the characters involved, if I were to commission one I'd put one of my bisexual female characters in there only, as the chance her partner for the pic may be male or female. However, being involved in a relationship I really don't think that I could do that in an auction and risk the other character not being on of hers.
How do you feel about adoptables?
It's a scam. Well, in a way, some people can't seem to find their niche as a furry, and some seem to collect characters. I just feel that a character isn't rightfully an intellectual product of a person unless they came up with it themselves. Paying someone to come up with a character for you, or to use a character that they had come up with for your own somewhat cheats a person of the creation process. I'm also starting to get concerned that someone might accuse me of stealing an adoptable character with a character that I had in Roleplay or in stories for years. I acknowledge a fact that characters are not protected under copyright law, and to lay legal claim to them you need to pay the patent office of your country to submit them under a trademark. The average person cannot do this unless they plan to make money with such characters.

Game Stramin'
Posted 13 years agoDecided to take a foray into game streaming. This week I'll test run it on Tuesday starting at 9PM EST (6PM PST/2AM GMT). The focus of my game streams will be same-screen multiplayer games, mostly from the 8 or 16 bit era. This Tuesday Zoey and I will be playing Super Mario Brothers 3 (SNES version because it saves without savestates) or Super Mario World.
Willing to take suggestions for future games should this come out good. Rules for game selections would be:
- must have 2 - player co-op featured prominently, or 2 - player in alternation
- may be an 8 or 16 bit console game or an arcade game
- games with heavy reading must be in English or be patchable to English (nothing against people that speak other languages, but I'm a stupid American)
- No first person shooters ; I'm wanting this to be a showcase of older games from before the FPS scene took off.
- Steam games are on a case by case basis.
- no MMORPGs. We might do one every now and then on our own accord, but that'll be extremely rare.
If this goes well we'll probably start a regular weekly time, perhaps a bit earlier in the afternoon.

Anyone like voice actors?
Posted 13 years agoI've been following voice actors more and more lately, and I happened to see this on my twitter, Rob Paulson has his own podcast, and the latest episode he had Maurice LaMarche as his guest. Yup, Pinky and the Brain on stage. He had some other voice actors on his show over the episodes so this might be good for people that like voice actors and cartoon voices to follow.

Portal 2 and custom maps
Posted 13 years agoNow that the perpetual testing initiative has started this is a great opportunity to see what other people can make. If anyone plays Portal 2 and has recommendations for custom levels, I'd like to see. I will offer up a map pack that I played today: 12 Angry Tests. This was made months ago, but it's quite excellent. The difficulty is on par with Portal 2 single player story and has some excellent progression. Even ends with a boss fight that may rival Wheatly.
Making chambers myself? Mmm.. I probably won't, I'm not a very good level editor, but I love playing other people's sadistic creations.

Mucking and the like
Posted 13 years agoIt used to be I was very active on tapestries. I had several characters there, and even though the active roster would change from time to time I had been active myself there for years.
That pretty much came to a halt two months ago. I can honestly give two reasons for this. One, I'm now romantically involved with someone who doesn't muck, and we also play an MMO together. The past few weeks I've thought about my muck characters though. Mostly, those that were active the the school there; Juniper, Scott, and Pin.
Pin had for the most part moved on to stick with her job running am OB/GYN clinic. Scott... I'd say he's still teaching, but his activity would have faded into the background of everyday life (as I think the active players only make up 1% of the school's total population). Juniper on the other paw, for the rest of the school year would concentrate on graduating, and afterwards would just settle into a life of a homemaker.
and I know it seems like everyone fading into obscurity... better than what could've happened to them, by far. The liklihood of returning to taps is very slim. Even if I do, I might only bring back the males characters. However, I may come back to Furrymuck every now and then... once I find that password x,x

Seriously, this is some attention grubbing bullshit, and this video has Brent calling them out on it. Unfortunately this is a no-win situation, as you have to give some attention to tell people not to pay attention to them.
By the way... have these people never heard of a fursuit, where most of them are made with synthetic materials? u,u

Next year's conventions (updated)
Posted 14 years agoIn consideration:
Furry Fiesta (Feburary 24-26 2012)
Furry Weekend Atlanta (March 15-18 2012)
Furry Connection North (TBA, normally in April)
One of these three.. I'm wanting something in the late winter, early spring to go to. In all honestly, Fiesta seems quite likely since I have a few friends in TX.. that and I've never been to that huge state before. Atlanta is also likely if I can find people to room share with there. FCN would have the shortest bus ride of the three, however I'm really not certain about that.
Not attending Morphicon - I'm sorry to my friends in Ohio, next year I won't be attending Morphicon, however I will make it a point to go in 2013
Certain to attend
Anthrocon (June 14-17 2012) - Umm... duh
iFC (TBA, sometime in August) - The local con. I have to admit, it's not all too good, however I plan to do something about it myself.. I will host two, maybe three panels, as I see the lack of planned activity a part of the issue. What I plan to host - A rodent (and lagomorph) meet and greet and an ironclaw game (incidentally I plan to buy version two before this)
Midwest Furfest (TBA) - Always a favorite of mine. The only issue I tend to have is it's proximity to the holiday season.
So I'm planning four for next year, one of them is just not so certain.
(update)
Also in consideration is a Worldcon on Labor Day Weekend.
