General | Posted 5 years agoHello friends! I've been trying to be more active here when it comes to writing, though I'm not sure how effective that is. I'm really enjoying streaming and getting the chance to share that with everyone.
I am also aiming to be more active with my Patreon and sharing my works there. Given the current state of the world, this is my only steady income at the moment, so you'll have to forgive a poor cat from bumping it once again.
Recently, I just finished releasing a novel serially over there, with five or six chapters being released a week. For $1/mo, patrons got access to the chapters as they were edited. For $5/mo, patrons got access to chapters in their draft form. For $10/mo patrons got access to the entire writing process: outlining, research, everything!
I know that Patreon isn't for everyone, so I also offer the same information through a monthly subscription on Gumroad, which you can find over on https://gum.co/makyo-patronage (I'm looking at setting up SubscribeStar at some point; we'll see how that goes).
BUT! I did promise some free stuff, so here's an audio recording of one of my short stories I made while streaming yesterday. Despite the warning, the story itself is SFW! Just one of those weird Patreon things, since my whole account is marked adult.

General | Posted 5 years agoI know many of us are sorta stuck in limbo, at home, or otherwise in a shaky state. I am, as well. My work contract ended at possibly the worst possible time, as now no one is hiring (and since that job was a contract position, I'm ineligible for unemployment benefits). Since I'm on COBRA, insurance is ridiculously expensive ($1700/mo), and ending COBRA is not a qualifying event, so we can't switch to the exchange. I'm getting by on scanty savings and, you guessed it, revenue from my books!*
To that end, I've set up some small incentives! I have a few free copies of electronic copies of all of my books, as well as all of those published by Hybrid Ink. I've also been starting to stream a bit more, as something folks can tune into during the day so we can all hang out and work together.
