What's your favorite beverage?
Posted 3 months agoFor the past couple years, I've been drinking mostly water. I'll have a juice, soda, or energy drink once in a while, but I'm looking to branch out.
Does anyone have any beverage recommendations?
My favorite right now is the June berry Red Bull, but I'm limiting my caffeine so that's just a once a week treat for me.

Light Hearted Brain Chatter
Posted 2 years agoHello folks! I've been a bit more active on here (at least trying to be), so I thought I'd share a bit of an update that might explain why.
I was on Lithium Carbonate to treat my bipolar for years, which eventually caused some kidney damage. I knew that was a possibility and was routinely getting lab work to test for it, but I didn't expect it to hit me so hard. My kidney function was pretty awful. I felt sick most of the time from it. Lithium also made eating a chore, cause I had to eat a LOT directly before taking the meds or else it would liquify my guts. I also had to take them within minutes of eating or I'd get really sick, as if I never ate. I was very weak very often because of this, for years.
I stopped taking them back in December under the recommendation of my doctor. My kidneys are currently back to normal and my health has improved so much!
Even though I'm currently unmedicated, my mental health is doing pretty well. Way better than before since I'm not feeling sick all day anymore. Im supposed to be on new meds but they tranquilized me pretty hard so my doctor just thinks I'm taking them. Shhh.
My new dog, Chiquilin, is about to turn 3 years old next week and he's been a god send for me. I'm also diagnosed with schizophrenia (or schizoaffective depending on which doctor you ask, I've had many), which is separate from my bipolar and always present.
He helps ground me to reality and lets me know when I'm hallucinating or if something is real. He soothes my paranoia and checks rooms for me before I enter, investigates things I ask him to, and overall calms me the fuck down. He's incredibly in tune with my emotions and mental state, so having him with me makes being unmedicated much easier than if I was doing it alone. My previous dog, Baba, had the same role. Chiki has a very different personality but does a great job in his own right.
I still have to be really careful with the bipolar since my doctor told me I've most likely gotten brain damage from my past "episodes". I'm at risk for more damage if I let myself have more in the future, so I have to be really careful with my moods. He's also recommended scans to see what my grey matter looks like, but honestly I'm not curious enough to eat that medical bill to see it.
Right now I'm feeling pretty good and more active with art than I was able to be before. Theres a lot of personal projects and stuff I'd like to work on in the future. I'm trying to get stuff out my system now while I have the energy.
If you read all of that, thank you so much! I'm just trying to put this somewhere since I haven't really told anyone. If you got through all this, what's your favorite animal companion? Mines been the American pitbull terrier! That's what Baba was and Chiki is.

Favorite snacks?
Posted 2 years agoI just opened a bag of Cheddar Jalapeno Cheetos, and I was wondering what peoples favorite snacks were?
These aren't my favorite snack, but they are my favorite Cheeto! My favorite potato chips are probably those Hawaiian Luau BBQ chips, second might be the Kettle Honey Mustard but I don't think I eat enough potato chips to know whats all out there.
I think my favorite overall snack might be the simple Rice Krispie treat. I think I can eat a bucket of those!
How about you guys?

idea suggestions?
Posted 3 years agoHey all! I haven't been drawing much lately. I'm in a weird rut where I'm having a hard time getting ideas down.
Does anyone wanna suggest any kinks, species, or ideas they wanna see me scribble out? I have some little doodles I wanna finish this weekend but I might try adding some more

Healing Maw Food Recommendations ?
Posted 3 years agoFirst off, sorry for being less responsive than usual for the past few months and not replying to people like normal ! It’s been hard for me health wise, heh.
Onto the subject. Anyone know any food recommendations for someone who had a tooth pulled? Im on day 5 and I’m still eating soft foods because I'm a weenie who's afraid of messing it up. I was told no spicy foods or crunchy foods while it was healing, so it’s put a huge restriction on my diet!
So far I’ve been living off of-
Campbells chunky soups. I can just swallow these thankfully, no chewing!
Instant noodles, like maruchan cups
Ice cream shakes. Lots of ice cream shakes with cereal! Fruity pebbles and trix are my go to.
Tossing in multivitamins and supplements because i know none of that is nutritious
Any folks with ideas? Im still suffering some repercussions from health issues so cooking difficult stuff is hard. I lost some hearing in one ear and im having balancing issues, along with being super sleepy and weak from the infection that cause me to lose my toof.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Boosting! Support to Ukrainian Artists
Posted 3 years agoIf you haven't seen it already,
PistachioHorror has an pretty hefty journal with Ukrainian artists who could use some support.
If you're able to, please take a look. This whole situation is pretty terrible, and the people who are suffering the most could really use some help.
If you're out there in this rough situation, I'm sending love your way. Please stay safe.

Any interest if I stream again?
Posted 4 years agoHey folks! I was wondering if anyone would be interested if I started streaming?
I used to stream a couple years ago but I had to stop because of some pain arm issues. I've seemed to be able to get around them by pacing and limiting myself, so I'd like to try streaming again to see how it goes. I'm not sure if I'd take commissions or just scribble stuff up, but I'll just be me doodling and having some music in the BG over on Picarto.

Happy new years!
Posted 4 years agoHey all! I wanted to welcome in 2021 by wishing my fellow furs a good one this year. Here's to hoping it's miles better than the last one!
Anyone have any plans or goals for 2021?
I don't really do resolutions, but I do plan to stop eating things I'm allergic to as much as I do now, heh. I'm allergic to a lot, I mean a lot of food, but I normally wave off the side effects because I'm a sucker for snacks.
What about you guys?

Marquee the Lioness
Posted 4 years agoHey all! If anyone is interested in feral art commissions, there's a fantastic artist over on DA who's currently open. I asked her to create a body design for Marquee, my lioness, and she went in and did a fantastic job with her. Here's the new design!
I'm really happy with it and I'm super excited to get started drawing her. I really wanna spend more time drawing for myself this year, and this really made me feel inspired.
If you're interested in commissioning this artist, her commission info is here.

Dinner favs?
Posted 5 years agoHey all! Anyone have a favorite dinner they wanna share?
I just had some carnitas, refried beans, and salad in a burrito, but I really wish I had waffles instead. I don't know why, but waffles are one of my favorite things to eat for dinner since they're very versatile. You can mix stuff in the batter, or use them to make sandwiches with.

Gonna get comfy here. Let me grab a chair!
Posted 5 years agoIt's been a long past couple months, but I'm gonna try and inch my way back into drawing. Here's a slight recap for those curious about where I've disappeared to.
During August, my area had a massive string if heatwaves. I'm talking weeks in the hundreds. We even hit over 110f a handful of times. My house is poorly insulated so I packed my dogs, cat, plants, work computer, and favorite blanket to temporarily move out. I wasn't home for most of August because of the heat.
Then the fires came! Luckily the fires only got close enough to be worrying once. The ash was pouring down like crazy, and it wasn't until I was running outside with the dogs that I remembered I had asthma. Woops! Looking for my rescue inhaler was a pain in the ass because I never needed it before and forgot where the damn thing was. I was too much of a weenie to move back home because of the fire smoke, which meant I stayed put for a couple more weeks.
After settling back home I was ready to get back to art. Then work kicked my ass. I got roped into a video project, filmed long hours, and had to deal with file tranfer sizes from hell. To top it off, my graphics card shit itself and I was doing video projects without it. Leading to long hours behind my bosses back. Not to mention sneaking an hour or two on weekends. Because of the pandemic, my place isnt doing paid overtime. I love our clients too much to give then a heavily delayed product, so extra work off the clock was worth it for me.
I was so warn out that I was starting to spend all my free time sleeping. Worth it! Today the project got final approval and the clients are happy with everything. I'm finally free from video hell and I'm hoping to get back on track doodlin.
I still have a backlog of art I need to post. Since I go days, sometimes weeks, without touching my PC I keep forgetting, heh.
I hope you fluffs and stuff have been good! I miss this place and need to catch up on all the pretty art.

Human/Monster Artist Taking Commissions
Posted 5 years agoHey all! I haven't posted a journal in a while, and I'll make a proper one from myself sometime soon BUT I did wanna throw out a buddy's info! He could use a bit of cash, since his computer's acting funky. He's an artist who relies on his computer for work so he's hoping to take some more commissions to help with paying to get it fixed.
Here is his commission info!
Here's his DA if you wanna see more of his art. He's a really good human artist who does lovely monsters.
He's selling some characters too.
I really love this guys stuff, so I'm hoping you all do too. I'm a sucker for monsters and fluffy dudes and his work pushes all the right buttons! Even if you don't want to commissions him, I still suggest taking a look at the glorious monster men he creates.

Whats for breakfast?
Posted 5 years agoAnyone had anything tasty for breakfast today?
I'm running a bit late since it's almost noon, but I made myself a double sausage patty sandwich with scrambled egg and cheddar cheese. I took a bite, then gave a some to my dogs.. then my kitty wanted a piece. I think I only ate about half and the rest was accidentally distributed to the pets.

I miss my old dog (personal)
Posted 5 years agoI normally don't make personal posts here, but being isolated and working from home has made me feel like it's okay to maybe post here. Please let me know if I'm being annoying.
Life's been really difficult for me since I lost Baba last year. I had him for almost half my life, and he was glued to my hip. Coming to terms with the fact that I need help is really hard, and realizing I need another dog is even harder.
I've been off my antipsychotics for years because they tranquilize me to the point that I couldn't function. I'd rather be off medications with a life than tranquilized with medications at home. I was just fine without them for a long time, but it was only because I had Baba.
I thought I could get away with just having Marshmallow. He's a great family dog, but sadly he'll leave my side if someone's cooking in the other house. My family sometimes cooks really late and he'll take off for the night.
When I had Baba I'd get a full night's rest. I can't sleep alone because I panic and freak out. I can't tell reality from hallucinations, especially in the dark when I'm trying to sleep, and that uncertainty scares me. I knew if he was calm, I could be calm. If he "boofed", I knew there was someone in my yard or that the neighbors fighting is real. I also have an issue where I forget where I am, and having him next to me would help ground me, or at least keep me calm until I figure out where I'm at.
I like to walk. Sometimes my mind will blank out and I'll get lost, up to 20 minutes away from home, but I knew Baba would get us home no matter what. I taught him to "go home", and he'd turn around and take us back. This has been one of the scariest things to lose even though I have GPS on my phone. Knowing that I can get lost and not have someone by my side to help get me home has been terrifying and I've honestly stopped walking on my own because of it. I can take Marsh around the neighborhood for his exercise, but he gets distracted easily.
I just feel lost and confused. I put a deposit down for an APBT puppy (Baba was an APTB), but my confidence is kind of shaken. I've been looking for a couple of months for a dog from shelters, rescues, and breeders that I thought would be a good fit, but it's been very difficult for me because I'm so stuck on missing my old boy. I wish I knew what to do, but I'm stuck feeling lethargic the majority of the time from the combination of lack of sleep and being exhausted from panic attacks. It's getting to the point that my doctor keeps upping my Xanax more than I'm comfortable taking (so I don't).
I wish I appreciated how much I really needed him when he was still around.

Life Update & Commission Delays
Posted 5 years agoHey all! With all the changes happening around the U.S. right now regarding health alerts, I thought it was important I give an update for my commissioners and those who keep an eye out for new art.
To get the critical info out the way, I'm currently working from home instead of the office. This is going to slow down my commission progress even more than usual because I had to bring my work computer home.
Now to explain the mess that's happening in detail.
I live in a small house in the back yard with my dog. This is because I take care of my mom and grandma, who live in the main house on my property. Mom fought stage 3 colon cancer a while back, so she still has chemo in her system. My grandma is in her 80s (she probably has the best health of us all tbh) and she's still recovering from a biopsy that went wrong and punctured her bladder back in November.
My job has decided to have all employees work from home until early April. The problem is that my house has zero room for another computer, let alone my entire work setup. There's also no room in the main house to set up. So now my PC, that I use for commissions, is set aside for my work computer temporarily. I've moved my current commissions into my iPad but it's still taking some getting used to.
I plan to have an update for folks this weekend, and I will be sending WIPs. I apologize for the delay. I'm currently rushing to clear out the main room so I can paint it, rip out the flooring (that's left), and set up a home office. The reason this work needs to be done is because my small house was built by a family member years ago and needs some fixing before it's livable. This includes torn, missing floor and a busted window.
Sorry again to those waiting on me for stuff. I wasn't expecting this whole virus thing to affect me so quickly.

Happy New Years! Any plans?
Posted 5 years agoHey fellow furry folks! Now that we're a full 24 hours into 2020, I wanted to make a new years journal.
Anyone got special plans for this year? I don't mean resolutions (but you're free to add that too!) I'm talkin plans like a special trip, an event you wanna go to, or something you've been saving to do.
My eventual goal is to try and get a concert somewhere in my year, but I'm not sure who to see yet.

Posted 6 years agoHey everyone! This is my first true weekend to myself in a very long time and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I'm planning to work on art and relax.
How is everyone else doing this weekend, anyone have plans?

Posted 6 years agoI adopted this guy, but I can't seem to get attached to him. He was designed by

Comment or note me if you want him.

Gathering Funds and Booze
Posted 7 years agoHey all! I just got back from a San Diego work trip, which was fun but kind of costly since I had to pay for my own meals. My job will eventually reimburse me somewhere down the line for a small portion, but for now I'm out that money.
I'm heading to Los Angeles for Adobe Max next week, so I'm trying to earn some money before the trip to make sure I have enough cash to party-I mean relax with my work buddies.
I currently have two items in my queue that I plan to finish soon, then I'll be putting up some premade stuff. For the moment, commissions are closed until I have more time to spare for them. YCH previews will be posted on my NSFW twitter.
Speaking of partying, what is everyone's favorite drink? Do you guys n gals like cocktails, shots, brew, or something else?

NSFW Twitter and Ko-fi
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! After listening to feedback and spending some time to thinker around, I went ahead and set up a NSFW only twitter.
https://twitter.com/CigarPup
I'll be posting sketches, doodles, and alternate versions of personal artwork there. There wasn't much to post at the moment since I went ahead and posted the other WIPs I had here a while back, but from here on out all new junk art will go there. I will still post all my completed artwork and commissions here. I don't plan to leave FA, I just wanted a spot to share stuff that I wouldn't post here anyway.
I also set up a Ko-fi account to help support my art supplies addiction. I'd like to buy a scanner for the mountain of traditional artwork that I have. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

What's a good place for nsfw doodles?
Posted 7 years agoHey all! I've been wondering where would be a good place to post nsfw doodles and unfinished work?
I have a tumblr but that requires a login to view, and I'd want my work to be available without anyone having to register. I currently house my clean doodles on my twitter, and I was considering making a nsfw only twitter.
Would twitter work or is there another site that would be better to post adult oriented artwork? This would only be for doodles, unfinished work, and possible alternate versions of stuff that I post here.

Paypal Invoice Help?
Posted 7 years agoHello all you fluffy, feathery, or scaly people.
Does anyone know how to remove the shipping option from PayPal invoices? Last night I noticed that after someone paid an invoice, PayPal wanted me to ship something to them. I went through and noticed a bunch of other past transactions asked for the same thing, so I went through and marked everything as "Processed", which did remove the need for tracking, but I'm wondering if there's a way to just remove the need for tracking or shipping info at all.
Anyone have experience with this? Any and all help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Trying some changes in 2018
Posted 7 years agoHappy new year's to everyone! I'm looking forward to 2018.
I want to try out something a bit different this year when it comes to commissions and personal artwork.
I'm thinking of limiting my commissions slots to three or less per round. I'll most likely be focusing more of my commission time to experimental stuff. I plan to open up some different types of styles from time to time once I become more confident with them.
Instead of taking on so many regular commissions I plan to going back to a streaming schedule. I'm not sure what that will look like yet, but I'm aiming for at least once a month. I was getting into the flow of things earlier this year but I had some health issues that made me step away from art entirely for a couple months.
The reason I want to try streaming more instead of regular commissions is so I can have more time to focus on personal artwork. I feel like I've been neglecting my poor characters lately and want to give them some love.
I plan to use my Trello more for things like YCH's and possibly even sticking future streaming schedules on there. I like to sketch out YCH's when inspiration strikes, but I wait until I have free time to work on them before tossing them on my FA. If I have any sketches that I plan to upload in the future, I'll stick the previews in my Trello so people can see what I plan to toss up later (and as a reminder to myself that I have them).
Thanks to everyone who's stuck by me over the years. I appreciate all of you and you guys n gals keep me going. Here's to an awesome 2018!

Trello and Update
Posted 8 years agoHey guys! I've kind of been in a state of flux, but I think I've found a workflow that works for me. I haven't been posting much in the past couple months, but that's mostly because I've been doing more personal artwork that I don't post online.
To try and keep my page more organized, I went ahead and made a Trello to keep track of commission progress. I have the link on my profile page along with my commission status.
I will be taking or two rush commissions that I plan to finish before Christmas, but I'm still working out my schedule to see what kind I can budget in before then.
Hope everyone is having a good holiday season! Keep warm, and don't forget to bundle up with a nice cup of hot liquid (I prefer hot cocoa).
