Donations
Lone
We accept donations. We are keeping it as transparent as possible and you can always enquire about what we do with donations, how we handle it and give us suggestions on how to make it more transparent and what we can invest it in.
December we had a number of very generous individuals, above all Zaki made one of the most generous donations to MancFurs, also Glynt and Malloy made a other notable Donations, we are now in the positive figures by £85.49 which will go towards helping the Manchester mini meets better in any way we can find it possible. With the latest donation we have been able to expand and provide a better service for Suiters, firstly a rail stand will be provided to tidy up the changing area and slo hangers provided to even allow better drying, on the topic of drying, we have also invested in two industrial fans, bought at a very bargain-able price used for multiple functions, above all drying suits out and even cooling the suiter lounge as we have noticed the issue with heating up there. for the sheer generosity of the two furs we hope you as much as we do in MancFurs staff, wish them very well and thank them for the money which has helped provide you a better meet. If you want to get a detailed account of spending ask Lone for the spreadsheet.
If you wish to donate you can come up to a MancFurs staff and ask about the donation box, which is sealed until the end of the meet where witnesses watch the money being counted. Lone is the treasurer and puts it into a Lloyds's TSB account.
You can alternatively donate via PayPal to manchesterminimeets@hotmail.com
Volunteers
Lone
Last I would like to mention the Volunteers, those that have helped the meets in any little or large way possible, from helping pass information, set-up or just providing the meets with materials we need to help carry them on, so I would like to personally thank the volunteers for the last few months and I hope they can keep up the good work.
as a last mention, if you feel you can help the meets in any way contact the MancFur's mini meets on MancFurs Minimeet Mail

So due to high demand on wanting other meets to occur, I decided this was my time to shine and stepped in to arrange them. These will happen monthly aswell so long as there is 4 weeks between each normal Manchester minimeet. They won't occur on the months there is a Main Meet. />/>/>
Here are the details for anyone wanting to come:
Basically just a social meet for chilling out with friends. TAILS are allowed at the meet. However, no fursuits/partials, collars or fet gear please. Want to keep this safe and public friendly.
Heres the plan;
12:00-12:30pm Meet up at Piccadilly Train Station

2013 Winter Tea Room Crawl – 13th January 2013
Posted 12 years agoThe Sundays of a MancFurs meet are usually pretty quiet, and so the Tea Room Crawl is great for those who want to be a bit more chilled and social.
We meet between 11 and 12pm at Manchester Piccadilly, and head off around some of Manchester's finest tea rooms, where we can indulge in tea, coffee, cake, maybe a spot of lunch, some more tea, and more cake... and maybe some more tea!
The lineup of locations is the same as at the previous gathering:
Richmond's Tea Rooms (Victorian era, with an Alice In Wonderland theme) 12:00pm
Sugar Junction (1940's era with a Vintage theme) 2:00pm
Teacup on Thomas Street (Current era) 4:00pm
If we have time after this, we may head to North Tea Power, or Nexus Art Cafe
So please reply to this journal or let
Adcro know if you'd like to come, but please note that there are only 15 guaranteed reserved places, which have now been BOOKED. If you are wanting to come along, but not on the list below, then you may need to simply pull up a spare chair to the table(s), or grab a seat at a nearby table (but the venues are usually pretty accommodating!)
Also, given the nature of this event and the venues we're attending, fursuiting is not recommended.

Nothing is formally planned for Sunday this month. There is a Manchester derby football match going on in the afternoon so attendees might find it uncomfortable and tense being in the city centre and using public transport. Nov 2012 Mini Meet Activity Feedback + New Fursuit Activity
Posted 13 years agoLast November mini meet we tried some new activity sessions at the back of Crunch. Though two weeks later than planned, as entertainment manager (apparently every MancFur staff member has multiple jobs to juggle...) Stuart Otterson would appreciate some feedback from attendees who participated.
As a reminder the activities were as follows:
12pm - 2pm – Drawing challenges
2pm - 3pm – Pub quiz
3pm - 4pm – Board & card games
4pm - 5pm – Improv
5pm - late – Video games
6pm - late – Drink games
So we’d like to know attendee’s thoughts and any changes and improvements they can suggest. Suggestions for new activity sessions is another welcomed discussion point.
Personal thoughts
Drawing challenges was slow to get started, leaving me a bit nervous the whole month spent planning these activities was for nothing but about half an hour in participation increased. Only improvement is to have the challenges better prepared beforehand.
Pub quiz ran as well as I could have hoped for on first run. Learnt a great deal on the pacing and how much challenge people needed. On the true or false animal facts, I was rubbish at making up false facts. Surprised at how badly people struggled at charades. The picture quiz went well as it struck the right balance of obvious and obscure.
I wanted the quiz to have pictures and text on the television but we lack a tablet/laptop and borrowing one only adds overhead on looking after it. Couldn’t bring a whiteboard for pictionary as Lone could not be reasonably expected to carry that much equipment from his home considering he was already lugging a 360. December shouldn’t be a problem as I’ll be lending him a hand.
The board and card game session went well, attendees bought games and I had underestimated participation. Will extend the hours that people can use the square area, increase the availability of the dry cloth and cleaning wipes, plus consider investing in some dry mats for people to lay their boards down on. Also need to remember to change the table arrangements as the video game session needed the central area extending from the television.
Lone reported Improvisation session was a lots of fun, but limited space and difficulty in the participants hearing each other due to the loudness of many people chatting in the venue, force them to head outside. That won’t be practical if it’s raining in the future. Unsure what we can do to improve that activity session.
Video games seem to be alright, wasn’t my event so wasn’t paying too much attention. Just need to make more room for it if it is to co-incide with the board game session.
Drinking games was fun, playing cheat/bullshit with the few remaining furs by the evening. However I don’t see much need for it to exist as its own activity so it will be absorbed by the board game session.
We’re thinking of shifting and tweaking the times of the session activities a little, primarily the improv session might move and if the new storytime fursuit activity gets the go ahead we will need to make room for that too.
New proposed fursuit activity
I’m aware that lately there hasn’t been much for the fursuiters to do other than the walk, so I’ve come up with a new activity that could possibly be done in the square area.
The three tables will each be asked to pull out of a bag a set of laminated cards which shall feature keywords and pictures of props. The challenge will be in half an hour to write a short story featuring all the plot elements and props pulled out of the bag. It should be about a thousand words minimum, which is about one sheet of paper.
I will then narrate the story (with some exaggeration) whilst a volunteer fursuiter needs to act out and react to the story they feature in, using the props when mentioned. Neither the narrator or fursuiter will have read the story beforehand.
I would hope this idea could be fun and funny, but also feeling inclusive for fursuiters and non-fursuiters.
Please let me know what your thoughts are and suggestions for how the activity idea could be tweaked, improved or any questions of clarification. May not necessarily have time to get it done by December.
As a reminder the activities were as follows:
12pm - 2pm – Drawing challenges
2pm - 3pm – Pub quiz
3pm - 4pm – Board & card games

Notice regarding Main Meet November 2012
Posted 13 years agoI’m afraid what was written in the last newsletter about the allowing 16 to 17 years olds into the Main Meet venue has fallen through. In short whilst the manager was up for the idea the owner had to u-turn after finding out the insurers did not cover having minors on the premise.
In short, officially speaking under 18s should not be attending the main meet, however if you are in the venue, we advice you stay well away from the bar even if it’s water or soft drinks you want as the venue will get upset if they find you present in the bar.
Also note that there will be an overflow of some furs in the venue next door Crunch (mini meet venue), if you bear in mind we do not have any exclusivity to it.
Consequently we also advice attendees to bring some form of valid age identification. If you don’t, well if you encounter any awkwardness with the venue we did warn you.
If you have any issues you wish to speak of you can contact the Main Meet organiser
Skapup
Speaking of Skapup he has the following to say regarding main meet activities:
Fursuit bowling maybe taking place. Manager said its fine to do it as long as that you don't wear paws (feet or hand) and suiting can only take place in the bowling area and not the rest of Namco or Trafford Centre due to other customers.
Laser Quest fursuiting may take place, they don’t have a problem with it but a payment of £100 needs to be paid before hand for private booking which sadly I can not do. They said if we go for a public game then its upto the management at the time to decide if fursuits can be worn.

MancFurs Newsletter - November 2012
Posted 13 years agoApologies that it’s been a while, anyway straight to business.
Upstairs (Upper Crunch)
Stuart speaking (well… typing) here. I would like to issue an apology to attendees for confusion I have caused over numerous months. Namely last month I had forgotten to mention on Twitter, the forum and here that the upstairs was in fact not booked for October (likewise for November).
The lack of communication thus resulted in a few understandably presuming it was business as usually, only to find the upstairs had become fursuit only and resulting in the misunderstanding that it had become a fursuit only private club. As far as I am aware and agreed upon with the other MancFurs staff it was being used as a changing room and cool down area for the fursuiters, nothing more. The bar allowed the upstairs to be used for that purpose as there involved little cleaning and no staff member was needed to man the bar.
For those who miss the upstairs, we haven’t been barred, just there’s some financial issues relating to the cost effectiveness worries voiced by the bar over having 4 bar staff on the day when 2 of them downstairs are relatively unbusy for most of the afternoon. We are also aware that some attendees dislike the upstairs and the rest are indifferent, so we might need to go out of our way to get a proper consensus from you the attendees want before deciding what to do in the future.
I would like to reiterate that for this month (and perhaps foreseeable future) the mini meets will be held on the ground floor.
Lower Crunch
In news related to Crunch, thanks to everyone who supported our efforts to retain continued use of the underground floor for evening parties. Sadly it was a tall order and reportedly once the staff and base costs for drinks were taken away the bar only made a £10 profit so that brings an end to that little chapter in MancFur meet history, for now at least. We will explore options in the future and nothing is to say we might not try again next year with new ideas.
Fursuit activities
Consequently because we don’t have the full use of the upstairs nor the downstairs for evening events, combined with a lack of fursuit games for the last 2 months and winter bringing on the increasing likeness of rain, there won’t be that much for fursuiters to do at the November mini meet.
We would like to thank all the people who have voiced their concerns to our fursuit liaison
wolfelysia. We acknowledge that some don’t feel comfortable fursuiting about on the ground floor as they are uncomfortable with it being a public space. All we can say is we cannot guarantee much else other than a 3pm fursuit walk-about if the weather is acceptable. Whilst we’re not saying furs shouldn’t being their fursuits this month, it wouldn’t hurt for them to know in advance what they can expect and weigh their options.
This month a lot of time has been put into preparing non-suiter activities. We will see if we can think of new ideas for the months afterwards.
Please note this refers to the mini meet only, the main meet will have one privately booked floor and there should be things to do.
Non-suiting activities
This month we will be trialling some activity sessions for attendees to take part in. You can find further details here. If you’re interested in them and are going to take part, it would help if you let your friends know about it as we’re wanting to get the word out that we’re trying out new things. We’re also a little nervous that some people who would like these sort of things will miss out by not knowing they’re happening.
After the meet we’re going to be having a feedback session on UKFurs forum and on an FA Journal so we can look into how we can further improve it.

Manchester Mini Meet – 10th to 11th November 2012
Posted 13 years agoContact us about any query you have. If it’s your first time at the meet or you’re shy and need to get to know someone, community liaison Stuart Otterson is there to help.
Important: If you feel the meet rules are being broken or someone is causing trouble, speak to one of the MancFurs staff with the red frame badges. Staff at present include:
lone-the-dog - Meet Organiser
Stuart Otterson - Community Liaison
wolfelysia - Fursuit Liaison.
We’ll also have a couple of volunteer present. Any issues on the day feel free to contact them as well.
Any one caught by Crunch staff drinking their own alcohol within the venue premiss will receive a permanent ban.
Any one caught by MancFur staff drinking will receive a ban at the staffs members discretion.
Venue news:
Thanks to everyone who supported our efforts to retain continued use of the underground floor for evening parties. We will explore options in the future and nothing is to say we might not try again next year with new ideas.
Also I would like to apologise for failing to mention last month that we do not have use of the Upstairs floor for meets at the moment other than as a changing room. Lone is the one to ask for further details but apparently Crunch have felt the maths weren’t adding up having 2 additional staff members man the upstairs when it was at times half full. They were happy for it to last month be used as a changing room since that didn’t need someone manning the bar (or tidying it much).
I am personally aware the upstairs is a bit of a conflicting thing among attendees. Some love it, some don’t and some just follow the crowd. We have also made mistakes in the past which has resulted in further confusion as to whether we have an upstairs or not. So for the record, this month at least we don’t other than for fursuit changing. This month we have the ground floor.
I would also like to acknowledge concerns that there won’t be much for fursuiters to do this meet. That is true and sadly we’re gonna need a bit of time now to think how we can try and address the balance between non-fursuiting and fur suiting activity, especially if we don’t have use of the facilities we use to have. Thank you for your patience.
Saturday 10th November
Before 12pm - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Please meet up with the group at the train station before 12pm (we don’t like waiting for stragglers). The group is outside platform 1 & 2 and near the large departure/arrival signs.
When in doubt, have someone’s mobile number
After 12pm - head to Crunch on Canal Street
The group will wander over to Crunch, our host venue. You’ll be greeted by Lone.
If you are fursuiting please speak with Elly who will be in the crunch door way so she can inform you of the suit events that day, the suit changing areas and when they are available.
At that point the day is yours to spend as you see fit. Go out with a group of your friends to the city centre, stay inside the venue, sit in the nearby gardens, head to the cinema and so forth.
If you have an activity you want to organise (e.g. trip to bowling alley, or seeing a film), let us know and we can post about it here and help you.
At around 1pm people will be splitting off to head for food. Some go to the nearby pizza take away, some head to the sushi restaurant, some head to the Arndale food court, this is your own choice.
New activities
This month we’re going to trial some activity ideas design to address concerns among attendees that there’s not enough to do during the meets. We’ll be taking over the square area at the back end of Crunch, that is the far end of the ground floor where there is a little enclave with 3 tables.
In that area we will be having different activities for people to participate in if they so wish. We ask people please be sensible with the area; it’s fine if someone sits there to talk with their friend whilst they’re taking part in the session activity, but if the whole table is taken up by furs who are not there for the activity session then that’s gonna undermine things. However after 4pm things will be relaxed as table space will not be vitally needed.
12pm - 2pm – Drawing challenges
Stuart Otterson
Do not worry if you can’t draw or have no idea what to draw, because we are going to have 4 different drawing challenges each lasting half an hour. The challenges will revolve around drawing something based on a set parameter and we hope people will have fun being creative and many laughs when we compare each other’s works. When in doubt about your drawing abilities, just be funny!
If you don’t have your own equipment worry not, we’ll be supplying paper, pencil crayons and such, just please remember to return them. We’ll also have some wiping material on hand to clean the tables as well so the paper doesn’t get wet from glass rings.
We may ask if we can take photos to post on our FA.
2pm - 3pm – Pub quiz
Stuart Otterson
An hour of animal and anthro related questions. No need to form teams, we have made it easier: just sit at a table and you’ve become part of the table’s team. This is because it saves the fuss of trying to organise into groups and the quizmaster trying to remember who is in what team. It allows people to come and go as they please.
What we’ll trial is for the quizmaster to verbally ask each table a question and giving them a set amount of time to answer. There will be regular break intervals and some non-question challenges such as taboo and pictionary. No prize but lots of bragging rights.
3pm - 4pm – Board & card games
Stuart Otterson & Tracker
Not that board games can’t happen before or after this time, but there’ll be a 1 hour dedicated slot where the three tables will be available and we’ll have the cleaning wipes on hand as well.
Games we’ll have include:
Fluxx
Easy to follow as the rules are on the cards and in fact the entire game revolves around changing rules.
Ugg-tect
A fun game of players trying to build the block structure on the leader’s card where the communication is nothing more than caveman grunts and a whacking of the caveman club.
We’ll also have a pack of cards on the third table and you’re welcome to bring your own games, though for best results we recommend games that last about half an hour (so you can get 2 plays) and are not overly difficult to pick up.
3pm - Fursuit walk
Elyisa
If the weather is good a fursuit walk shall happen at 3pm. Fursuiters are advised to use common sense, change early before 3pm so you don’t get left behind and queue patiently to use the limited space designated as the changing room area.
4pm - 5pm – Improv
Lone
A group improvisation session. This is a group activity to put your wit, quick-thinking and improvisation to the test in a style similar to the show “Who’s line is it anyway?”.
5pm - late – Video games
Lone
There should in theory be a video games console hooked up to the wall mounted television and there will be some multiplayer games available for people to take turns on.
6pm - late – Drinking games
We expect attendee numbers to have dropped, so we will only use one table and everyone else can use the other tables.
I will probably try to be initiating a card game of Cheat, which isn’t really a drinking game but is fun when drunk. I will explain the rules on the night. People are welcome to suggest their own drinking games that use a pack of cards (or none at all), just no spin the bottle please. Since video games don’t require table space so much, I may elect to start a little earlier.
Sunday 11th November
Before 12pm - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Stuart Otterson
The Sunday meets are a quieter affair, smaller group, varied in activity and for a large part of the day alcohol free. Please check each month to see what activity is being organised.
For this month it’ll be a pretty standard Sunday meet, we will head to Nexas Café and chill. Perhaps some drawing will take place. If you have a proposed activity let me know and I’ll consider. We may move on later in the evening.
Donations
Lone
In recent months we have been accepting donations. We are keeping it as transparent as possible and you can always enquire about what we do with donations, how we handle it and give us suggestions on how to make it more transparent and what we can invest it in.
We have a small deficit of around 5 quid, nothing serious. We still have a lot of the halloween decoration so we’ll see if we can use them again next year somehow. If you want to get a detailed account of spending ask Lone for the spreadsheet.
If you wish to donate you can come up to a MancFurs staff and ask about the donation box, which is sealed until the end of the meet where witnesses watch the money being counted. Lone is the treasurer and puts it into a LoyydsTSB account.
You can alternatively donate via paypal to manchesterminimeets[at]hotmail.com

We have a small deficit of around 5 quid, nothing serious. We still have a lot of the halloween decoration so we’ll see if we can use them again next year somehow. If you want to get a detailed account of spending ask Lone for the spreadsheet.
If you wish to donate you can come up to a MancFurs staff and ask about the donation box, which is sealed until the end of the meet where witnesses watch the money being counted. Lone is the treasurer and puts it into a LoyydsTSB account.

Manchester Main Meet - 24th November 2012
Posted 13 years agoHey all! Its about that time again
Organisers for the meet are
kennofox and
KiffyLee
We’ll have the distinguishing badges saying meet organisers and what not... so any issues come find us...
Seeing as Xmas is fast approaching I figured lets go polar opposite and have a loud Hawaiian shirt themed thing going on... who knows, loudest shirt may win a prize (TBC)
Saturday 24th November
MEET-UP
By 12PM - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
1. Piccadilly: Until 12PM we'll be gathering near the departure/arrival signs and Platform 1 &2
2. If the police have moved us along before 12, wait patiently at Whitworth Gardens on Canal Street.
Make sure you have someone's phone number in case you show up late and no-one's there! If need be PM me or Skapup ASAP to get my number if you think you'll need it but generally we're an easily spottable group. The Furry in its natural habitat of the train station wears tails, conbadges and generally huddle in a big group! If you're new, don't be afraid to say hey! I will likely be the tall guy in a russian fur hat and will be identifiable by the badges and what not :3
If the weather is butts (aka its heaving it down with rain/snow/hurricanes) I’d recommend instead of hitting up Whitworth gardens that you go straight to the bar on Canal Street :3
At 12PM - Head to View on Canal St.
Getting there
Kinda webpage
Once again we return to the great venue View which we have used at the previous meets. The bar View is located directly next door to Crunch the old headquarters of the meets and has a nice food menu, inexpensive prices and a large area ala dance floor style :3
Venue note: Due to laws this is an 18+ venue so ID is very much required... this is as it always is so just another reminder I guess :3
FOOD
1PMish - Almost Famous (Filthiest Burgers)/Slice(Delicious Pizza)
Organiser: Kiffy Lee (Weiss)
Figured seeing as it went awesomely last time I'll be hitting up either Almost Famous or Slice for some awesome noms.
1PM - TBC
Organiser: TBC
TBC
If you want to plan anything drop me a message and I’ll add it here. View does food and is apparently pretty nom :3
ACTIVITIES
TBC pm - Afflecks Palace Trip
Organiser: TBC
Designed with the under 18's in mind this trip will be heading out to the famous alternative capital of Manchester, Afflecks Palace.
4ish pm - Fursuit walk/Fursuit Dance
Organiser: TBC
Walk is very much weather dependant but should it be naff we have a dance floor to fluff it up... Generally have between 5 and 20 suiters depending on the occasion
TBC Pm - Cinema Trip
Organiser: TBC
Fancy a trip to the flicks? Feel free to organise it and I'll add info here :3
Please leave your personal belongings in a SAFE place, and with someone you trust. Do NOT just leave them lying around.
If anyone has any ideas for activities!
Feel free to give me a PM and I'll add it up here for you, we however will not be taking responsibility for it.
Oh and if Saturday isn't enough for ya you can always join us on...
Sunday 25th November
12pm onwards - Sunday chillaxing and drawing
Organiser: Stuart Otterson
Location: Nexus Art Cafe
For anyone wanting to do something the Sunday after, Someone will take anyone that turns up over to Nexas Café where they can chill out, draw, order home made food there.
Need to again have rough numbers as the venue doesn't like if a big group walks in unannounced.
12pm onwards - DRINK!
Organiser: Depends on who is left standing and or has money X3
Location: Molly House/Almost Famous
If Saturday just wasn't enough... Molly House or Almost Famous will have the solution.
Got any questions? Feel free to drop me a message or post below and I'll get back to you as soon as possible :3

[ClOSED] 1,000th MancFurs tweet competition
Posted 13 years agoThis competition has now ended. Congratulations to our winner
Huskion who tweeted:
@MancFurs I'm a huge fan of fursuiters, and I have loads of friends in the area - the meets are the best reason to experience both #MancFurs
Since the launch of the MancFurs twitter account earlier this year it has been a rousing success in helping organise the furmeets, communicating with the community and provided plenty of fun banter along the way (usually consisting of making fun of Stuart or Salford… or both).
We are fast approaching our 1,000th tweet and to celebrate we’re hosting a simple competition.
The Prize?
A ‘flat’ style commission of your character, worth 25 quid*, courtesy of our fantastic meet attendee
Outputt
How to enter?
How to win our prize?
- You will need a twitter account
- You must be following @MancFurs
- Tweet about what it is you like about the meets or about the MancFurs community in general.
- Have #MancFurs in your message
- Note that if you have a private Twitter account it may be necessary to MancFurs mention us as we might not see your message.
We will direct message everyone who enters to say we have seen their tweet. If you don’t receive a DM in a few hours you may want to get in contact with us.
What happens next?
We will keep track of each entry in a Google Spreadsheet and by the 1000th tweet we will announce the winner. This will be done using some number generator. Then after the congratulations you go get in contact with Outputt!
Terms & conditions
- One entry per person
- The prize is for clean art, be sure to check Outputt’s terms and conditions
- Open to MancFurs residents and meet attendees (though how we enforce that I have no idea)
- Generally we’re not going to spend forever checking each entry, but if you’re living in say Canada and make up some stuff about how you love our community we may choose to ignore your entry as it is not in the spirit and purpose of this competition
- We’ll do our best to track each #MancFurs entry but we can’t guarantee we’ll see it
- To avoid getting unwanted entries from people who clearly have nothing to do with MancFurs or MancFur meets, please resist making journals advertising this competition. We’ll get upset if people from the north pole start entering. We might also disqualify your entry.
Any other questions just ask.
* £25 is what we’re paying for this competition, but say you want an extra character or to upgrade the art style you’re more than welcome to pay on top of that.

Mancfurs Mini Meet Evening Parties – Vote With Your Wallet
Posted 13 years agoHi comrades,
Last night we had a staff meeting in response to a call from the mini meet venue Crunch.
The skinny is this: the venue is happy with our meets taking place there, but the evening parties held in Lower Crunch unfortunately aren’t working out monetary wise. September they made around £80 which isn’t enough to cover the costs of having staff man the bar. Understandably they’re wanting to cut their losses.
Because it was last minute Lone persuaded them to carry on with the October Halloween evening party. It may possibly be the last Mini Meet evening party for quite a while, unless the bar makes more money.
I want to first make abundantly clear that we had a lot of discussion earlier on Skype about what we want to say and setting the right tone. So lets start by saying our message isn’t to preach “EVERYONE GO BUY LOADS OF DRINKS THIS WEEKEND”.
We understand everyone is short on money, no need to remind us. And we’re not here to go bossing people on how to spend their cash either, everyone has their own thing going and some don’t attend the evening party anyway (in which case there’s no need to read on) or drink alcohol. Rather what I want to do is state the facts and give everyone a heads up so they can make an inform decision. October could be our last evening party, so we hope whatever happens it can finish on a high.
However if attendees want there to continue being an evening party portion as much as we do, there are a few things that could help our cause:
- 5pm evening onwards, buy drinks from downstairs rather than the ground floor. You may wonder but no, drinks bought from the ground floor don’t count towards the money made underground, because they always have staff manning that floor, the underground floor is an extra staff member they pay for.
- When we say drinks, non-alcoholic stuff like soft drinks count don’t forget!
- You don’t necessarily have to spend more money to help us keep use of Lower Crunch, say you are going to spend £10 that day on drinks and going to the evening party anyway, you could save some of your spending on the evening.
- Finally if you have the spare money anyway, want the evening parties to continue and want to thank the venue for being our accommodating hosts, carry on :)
So essentially people can vote with their wallets this weekend whether the evening parties stay or go. If it’s enough to keep them going we can work towards making it more entertaining and cost effective, if not then life goes on.
Whatever happens, we’ll still have use of the venue ground floor for the afternoon and we’ll simply device other events :) Also November mini meet won’t have an evening party regardless because the main meet will be a few weeks after.
Finally, whilst there’s no plans to leave Crunch it’s always good to keep our options open. If people have suggestions for venues, whether the entire day or for the evening party specifically, let us know and we can mull over them or keep note.

Sunday 14th October
Before 12pm - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Stuart Otterson
The Sunday meets are a quieter affair, smaller group, varied in activity and for a large part of the day alcohol free. Please check each month to see what activity is being organised.
For this month it’ll be a pretty standard Sunday meet, we will head to Nexas Café and chill. Perhaps some drawing will take place. If you have a proposed activity let me know and I’ll consider. Might also need to see what the group that turns up wants to do.
Stuart would like to know roughly how many are coming. Nexas Café gets upset with me if the group is large without prior warning.
Donations
Lone
In recent months we have been accepting donations. We are keeping it as transparent as possible and you can always enquire about what we do with donations, how we handle it and give us suggestions on how to make it more transparent and what we can invest it in.
We raised £25.67 in September. We are taken aback by the generosity of the community and we’d like to express our gratitude and we can only hope in working together we can use it wisely.
£25.67 covered the expenses spent on buying stationary and the new white baord for the meets, everyone seemed to enjoy it, but the rest went to decorations for the venue. We have left with have a small deficit of £2.57.
To make clear, we pay nothing for the use of the venue at the moment. The money is used on anything we feel improves the meets or makes organising them easier. Currently there are no spending plans for September apart from possibly some posters.
If you wish to donate you can come up to a MancFurs staff and ask about the donation box, which is sealed until the end of the meet where witnesses watch the money being counted. Lone is the treasurer and puts it into a LoydsTSB account.

Warning: DO NOT bring your own alcohol into the meet venue
Posted 13 years agoIt has come to our attention last meet that an old problem that we thought had been dealt with has once again reared its head.
We were informed by the mini meet venue Crunch that a few individuals have been consuming alcohol they had not bought from the bar.
We have rules and guidelines that you agree by when you attend these community gatherings, one of which:
2. Alcohol not purchased on the premises is not to be consumed on the premises. General food and soft drinks not purchased on the premises are not to be consumed on the premises, though exclusions are possible (bottled water for fursuiters, home baked cake products) with prior approval from the bar staff.
We will be republishing these rules in a future journal so nobody has any excuse that they couldn’t read it.
We are disappointed and frustrated that we’re having to once again remind attendees of these rules, especially since the majority abide by them.
The venue is generous in allowing us to make use of their venue for the mini meets, they are one of the few bars in Canal Street that allow us to have under 16-18 years old on the premise and they have been very accommodating to our needs. Individuals breaking the rules spoil our relationship with the management.
If you cannot afford to have a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) then either you don’t drink at all or do it well outside the venue (don’t just go drinking a coke right besides their door and leave the can there either, have some sensibility).
We remind attendees that there will be repercussions for anyone caught.
If Crunch catches you and informs us about it, you will be permanently banned from attending the Manchester mini meets.
If the MancFurs staff catch you, we will suspend you from attending the Manchester mini meets, the length of your suspension shall be at our discretion.
PLEASE don’t make us have to do this, we especially don’t want to be faced banning people we know and are friends with, so DON’T force our paw in the matter.
AMENDMENT:
Hi, just wanted to add a few clarifications.
First things first lets defuse things and state that in regards to Tom (a few comments down), he's fine. We read over it and we understand the situation and really appreciate him being forthcoming and clarifying things. He also handled it all in good grace and calmly without a fuss which is a real role modal for how to respond.
Next just gonna explain why this post came about. After the Saturday portion of the September meet ended, Lone did his customary talk with the bar management where they exchanged some feedback over how the meet went for both parties. The good news is Crunch are very happy with a customs and being our host venue for these meet occasions. In their feedback they had mentioned that "some people had been drinking their own drinks on the venue”. They never mentioned a particular incident and were saying that in general it was happening without specific numbers.
To clarify this post wasn’t in a response to a particular incident (cus we didn’t know of any), but addressing an issue that does crop up regularly. Our pessimistic view is that it won’t ever go away because from experience we go through months where everything is fine, then when we let our guard down it occurs again giving us headaches.
Generally it’s the younger furs who are most likely to offend due to a mixture of naivety, being skint and not knowing better. Thus the reason things are calm for a few months is that we pipe up and remind everybody, people get the message and all is well. Then new furs begin to attend the meet and they don’t necessarily know the rules and are naive and so the cycle starts again.
So we’re issuing a reminder so everyone who hasn’t known previously now knows our position on the matter and also it is important we can demonstrate to the bar we’re not a completely out of control group and that we are able to demonstrate an ability to sort things out.
And whilst we’re taking a tough stance on the matter we’re not going all Judge Dredd about it, it’s gonna have to be pretty apparent someone was breaking the rules. Else if it’s some situational edge case we will of course want to find out about the situation, we’re gonna ask questions before shooting, not the other way round.
If anyone has a questions about the rules we’ll answer them or think over them if you bring up something we hadn’t considered. :)

Manchester Mini Meet - 15th to 16th September 2012
Posted 13 years agoSaturday 15th September
It’s not a mistake, someone else has booked up use of the venue for the 8th, plus several people will have only just returned from Euroference that weekend (including Lone).
Before 12pm - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Please meet up with the group at the train station before 12pm (we don’t like waiting for stragglers). The group is outside platform 1&2 and near the large departure/arrival signs.
When in doubt, have someone’s mobile number My number is available on PM request.
After 12pm - head to Crunch on Canal Street
The group will wander over to Crunch, our host venue. You’ll be greeted by Lone. If you plan on staying indoors please head upstairs as Upper Crunch is the floor we’ve booked private use of. It will be available from 12pm till 5pm.
If you are fursuiting please speak with Elly who will be nearby so she can give you instructions on where the changing rooms are, when they are available as well as the day’s event.
Some go to the nearby pizza take away, some head to the sushi restaurant, some head to Arndale food court. Make your arrangements.
3pm- Fursuit walk
Elyisa
If the weather is good a fursuit walk shall happen at 3pm. Fursuiters are advised to use common sense, change early before 3pm so you don’t get left behind and queue patiently to use the limited space designated as the changing room area.
5pm - 6pm - Xbox games happening at Undercrunch
Lone
Crunch will kindly lend us their TV and Lone shall be supplying the xbox 360 and the kinects. Wander underground to Undercrunch for free play on the variety of party games there.

Suggestions?
We try to find new games and such but any you can suggest we are most appreciative.
6:30pm - Evening Party
Lone & Stuart
At 5pm Uppercrunch closes to be cleaned. Please head to the ground floor and bring your belongings. You can also head to Lowercrunch which is the underground floor where the evening party will begin.
This month’s theme is ROCK n ROLL.
Your DJ is SkaPup; musician, main meet organiser, MancFurs legend and creator of deadly chilli sauces. He shall be playing the classic rock anthems and later in the night for you metal heads he shall delve deeper into his personal collection and take the volume up to 11.
There shall be an air guitar contest and a prize for the best dressed mean rock ‘n’ roller.
Sunday 16th September
Before 12pm - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Stuart Otterson
The Sunday meets are a quieter affair, smaller group, varied in activity and for a large part of the day alcohol free. Please check each month to see what activity is being organised.
For this month it’ll be a pretty standard Sunday meet, we will head to Nexas Café and chill. Perhaps some drawing will take place. If you have a proposed activity let me know and I’ll consider. Might also need to see what the group that turns up wants to do.
We like to know roughly how many are coming. Nexas Café gets upset with me if the group is large without prior warning.

Manchester Mini Meet - 11th August 2012

If you feel as though anyone has broken any of the above rules, or is in some way harassing you or someone you know. Be sure to inform myself or anyone else on the MancFurs team as listed in the link above. We’ll have red badges clearly stating who we are and our role.
If you’re new to attending these meets, feel free to contact DarkOverord if you need some extra info that isn’t stated in this post. For reference, he’s 6’6” with long ginger hair, can’t miss him!
Saturday 11th
By 12PM - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Piccadilly: Until 12PM we'll be gathering near the departure/arrival signs and Platform 1 &2
If the police have moved us along before 12, wait by crunch on Canal Street.
Make sure you have someone's phone number in case you show up late and no-one's there! If need be PM, me ASAP to get my number if you think you'll need it, otherwise we're easily spoted. The Furry in it's natural habitat of the train station wears tails, conbadges and generally huddle in a big group by the departure boards! If you're new don't be afraid to say hello, to anyone!
At 12PM - Head to Crunch on Canal St.
When you get to Crunch you’ll be greeted by Lone, who will then point you to Ely if you have a fursuit to get you registered for suiting! Remember we’re in “Upper Crunch”, not the ground floor.
3pm - Fursuit walk
Elyisa
Hopefully the British summer will hold out long enough for us to get a little walking in!
In preparation for the walk, the underground will be open all day as a headless lounge, and the upstairs changing room will open at 1:30.
A HUGE NOTE: We will be moved downstairs at 7 and as such the MancFurs staff will no-longer be keeping an eye on the upstairs changing room. As such it is your responsability to move suits etc. downstairs. Designate an aide after the fursuit games at 6:30 if you wish your case to be brought down but you want to remain in suit.
5:30pm - Fursuit Games
Elyisa & Lone
6:30pm - Evening Event
Lone
We’ve elected to not have another party style evening event this month. We were planning to have a set of competitive events as part of a video game theme evening, unfortunately last moment circumstances mean we’ve had to scale back our ambitions. We will instead have a set of fursuit contests as usual and have an extended video games free play on the Xbox Kinects.
The following contests are available for the fursuiters:
Bowling
Each contestant gets three bowls, highest score wins.
Limbo
One attempt to see the lowest you can go under the pole.
Penalties
[I think] it’s a test of who is the best goal keeper, let a penalty in and you’re out.

MancFurs Newsletter 7th July 2012
Posted 13 years agoMancFurs camp adventure
The attendee list, tent share, transport and such has been pretty much settled now as discussed in the provisional plan. The only real change is that for those taking part in the convoy, we will all be leaving around the same time now, setting off around 1pm. For those attending, contact us or
commandertaneshepard if there are some details you're still iffy about.
Manchester Mini meet 14th to 15th July 2012
Some notes:
- Sparkles is happening that same weekend, which is an annual event for trangenders and such. Canal Street will be crowded and we've accounted for it as best we can based on previous experiences where the meets clash with Sparkle. We have the upstairs and downstairs booked, there will be posters to mark them as private use for ourselves. The ground floor will of course be used be available to the public.
- Shouldn't need to say this, but no derogatory comments towards the people attending Sparkle. We don't want to be hearing complaints pinned against our group.
- Crunch has recently changed management again, they are back under old management it seems. As far as we're aware this does not affect our plans for the mini meet much and our relationship with the venue is healthy.
- An experimental food trial will be conducted this mini meet. Upper Crunch will have food available to us. So far I'm informed it's some sort of buffet for 5 quid. More details to hopefully emerge.
- Fursuiters, there's an uncertain possibility the upstairs fursuit changing room might not be available or may be limited in space due to food being served. In such an event, as we understand it the underground floor changing room should be available (poster hopefully marking it).

Manchester Mini Meet – 14th to 15th July 2012
Posted 13 years agoFirstly, we'd like to introduce
elysiathewolf who is now a member of the MancFurs staff carrying out the role of Fursuit Liaison.
Hey everyone, my name is Elysia, or in short Elly and you probably know me from the recent meets. I have recently been assigned onto the team of organisers to help look after the fursuiters, sort out fursuiting events such as the dances and games and also be there if anyone has any suggestions or concerns about the meets. Feel free to pop up to me at any time.
After a discussion with the others, we concluded a good idea would be stamping. This would only be for the fursuiters as we consider it easier and safer for the suiting areas if it is clear who is allowed to enter. To make the job easier, at the beginning of the meet there will be a designated area that I will be based where you can get information for the walk, dance times and also where you can receive your stamp. It will also likely have additional pieces of information which you need to know. At this point you will be asked if you have a fursuit (please provide proof), if so I will stamp your hand. I will also point out the areas all fursuiting items can be placed safely and the areas you are able to get changed with privacy from none suiters.
Also for the late night ideas, we have a few games planned that will hopefully go well throughout the evening, so all feel free to come along and enjoy.
Saturday 14th
By 12PM - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Until 12PM we'll be gathering near the departure/arrival signs and Platform 1 &2
If the police have moved us along before 12, wait by crunch on Canal Street.
Make sure you have someone's phone number in case you show up late and no-one's there! If need be note us ASAP to get a number if you think you'll need it, otherwise we're easily spoted. The Furry in it's natural habitat of the train station wears tails, conbadges and generally huddle in a big group by the departure boards! If you're new don't be afraid to say hello, to anyone, remember to poke the bunny as he’s the community guy!
The meet will be taking place on three floors of Crunch, the main area for the first half of the meet will be Upper Crunch, the ground floor will be open at all times but is open to the public, Upper Crunch is privately reserved for us and will be open from 12-7pm.
Fursuiters will have a changing area located on this floor at the back of the bar (marked with poster on the door), this changing areas will be strictly private for fursuiters and will have a number of fans and water ready for suiter's.
Fursuiters are asked to register at table near the front door, Lone shall greet everyone else as they enter.
After 7pm the booking for upstairs will have ended and so the bar will need to clean up, please make your way to the Party that has begun or to the ground floor. Upper Crunch will reopen later to the public, you can go back up but it is not privately reserved, there is also the Sparkle event occurring as well so be respectful to other users of the bar.
At 12PM - Head to Crunch on Canal St.
When you get to Crunch you’ll be greeted by Lone, who will then point you to Ely if you have a fursuit to get you registered for suiting! There’s some more info on the venue and the fursuit system further down the post!
3pm - Fursuit walk
Elyisa
Hopefully the British summer will hold out long enough for us to get a little walking in! Sparkle will be on during the meet however so the area may be a little busy this month!
Evening activities
4:30 to 5:30
Downstairs will open (including the bar) for games, an Xbox kinect is provided by the meet and free to use, it will be connected to a roof mounted projector and so you can dance away will a life size Han Solo or become a superhero with push hero's, there will be a selection of games available, other games are allowed down there for those wishing to bring board games or card games.
5:30 - 6:30
The kinect shall be packed away in order for fursuit games. The meet has provided a number of fun games for the suiter's to play: limbo, penalty shoot outs and and more.
6:30-10:00
The party will start at 6.30. We have a number capable DJ's who shall be playing till the late hours of the night, so don't get too drunk or you may miss the fun. Our DJs confirmed so far are Techkat and Pablo fox, but we may expect another DJ. Fursuiter's don't threat, after the fursuit walk, the fans and water shall be moved down stairs for a headless lounge, this will be set up as an area to cool off and relax for the fursuit games and the Rave, again this is strictly fursuiter's only.
Sunday 15th
By 12PM - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
The Sunday meets are different to Saturdays, a lot quieter and generally more chill than the hectic Saturday.
For this day the fine Mr. Stuart Otterson and the equally polite Mr.
adcro have declared that Sunday be a good old Tea Shoppe Crawl! Visiting local tea shops and rooms, one would be a fruitcake to miss it! (Get it, tea, fruitcakes, oh I crack myself up). By the fine inspiring efforts of one Mr. Lupestripe down in York has this fine activity has now been taken up in Manchester too! Seriously I don't know what I'm saying anymore
Remember to get Stuart’s info if you’re thinking of going but could turn up late (Or just can’t find him before he goes.) and remember that you're meeting up at the station by 12PM (Not after)
You can also contact Adcro via his twitter here: http://twitter.com/MrAdcro/
If anyone has any ideas for activities!
Feel free to give me a PM and I'll add it up here for you, remember however it is your responsibility! Don’t expect the organisers to pick up the flack.

MancFurs Newsletter - Late June 2012
Posted 13 years agoSome statements we'd like to make.
Apology about the venue floor mix up
Just wanted to take a moment to explain the little mix up that happened during the June mini meet. Many were a little confused that we had the ground floor for a long portion of the meet instead of the upstairs. A little cross wire mixup happened when we booked use of the downstairs for the evening party, the venue staff must of thought we didn't want the upstairs that week so they didn't prepare it for use.
The upstairs is not actually in use by Crunch until later in the evening normally, the reason why we've been in it is because we book use of it, which is also why members of the public shouldn't be wandering in.
Anyway as you will have noticed the upstairs was later put in use again. Next month there won't be the same mix up, so please head straight upstairs as usual. It is especially booked for our use and is a safer place for your belongings, plus it is where special drink deals for our group are bought from.
A statement regarding recent open discussions about stamps and security
Recently there was an open discussion regarding mini meet security, including a proposal to stamp all attendees on the hand. After several internal discussions between MancFur staff, plus taking on board the opinions of various people who attend the meets, this is what we are in favour of doing.
We're gonna be producing some poster signs for the upper crunch, lower crunch, and the fursuit changing lounge doors, the former two warning the rooms are private functions and the latter reminding non-fursuiters to keep clear unless they have a reason to be there.
Stamp wise, we'd like to mark on the hands of those who are going to be fursuiting, as a convenient means for them to have clearance for the fursuit changing room area when they first enter to change into. Elly, our new fursuit liaison* proposed we have area manned by a volunteer who'll keep the area uncluttered of people who don't need to be there and generally help out.
We feel this will make the fursuiters feel more at ease when changing, prevent the room getting anymore cluttered than it can get and generally improve the fruiting experience at the mini meets.
We're looking for 2 volunteers preferable so they can rotate and not have to be stuck near the area all day. It is subject to trust and a feeling that you can carry out the tasks, so please talk with
elysiathewolf (by the way only posting on the thread "oh i can do it!" without actually going to the effort to contact Elly may diminish your chances).
Finally, at this present time we don't feel the need for any additional security other than the vigilance of our attendees and the 2 fursuit changing room volunteers.
So in summery:
- We won't be needing everyone at the meet to be stamped
- Posters on the doors telling the public we've booked use of various parts of the venue
- We're looking for 2 volunteers to man the fursuit changing areas
- Stamps for fursuiters (and helpers if fursuiters request) so the changing room volunteers know they are to be allowed in to change
- No additional security
Music for future evening parties
There were some other open discussions going on recently as well, mainly concerning music for future evening parties.
We obviously can't appeal to everyone's flavour during the DJ sets every month, but we would like to compromise and alternate things when possible, whether that means going for a different genre each evening party or having different hour and a half sets. I want to know the popular choices as we can't go appealing to niche things like Soviet Polish disco or something. To help out please name some of the bands & artists when naming the genres you wanna be dancing/rocking to and if possible be a little precise, since saying Rock could mean to us you like The Beatles as much as you love System of a Down.
e.g.
Indie = broad answer
Manchester 80s Indie (The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Joy Division) = a more helpful answer
Do people think the evening party should be monthly or every other month (e.g. every two months)? We're not entirely sure if the novelty is gonna wear thin and it depreciates the value of the evening party if it is a monthly occurrence. Generally we don't really know, we plan on playing it by ear and the mood of things at the moment.
Also, should the evening parties have a theme to them? This could shape up the music that would be played and also give people a chance to dress up a little if they wanted, dunno.
Bolton Meet and MancFurs camping trip
A reminder that for those interested there is a Bolton meet on the 30th of June
Also that those interested in the camping trip for the 9th July please don't leave it at the last minute to express interest to go, we'd like to know a week ahead, but at the very least a few days ahead.

Bolton Meet - 30th June 2012
Posted 13 years agoDear comrades, with the growing contingent in the Bolton borough of Greater Manchester we're delighted to be having
elysiathewolf organising a meet there for the 30th June.
Below is a basic copy and paste of the thread on UKFurs, please direct enquiries to Elly, but if you leave it at the bottom of the journal we'll either answer to the best of our abilities or redirect it to Elly on your behalf.
We hope you'll attend and that the Bolton meet can grow into a regular event as part of the MancFurs community.
Hey furries! It is finally here after a long, thought out discussion between several others, including Blastdav and myself. (I won't lie, organising this has been hell haha).
SO. Plan.
11.00am
Meet at Bolton train station. This is the best area as it's not too big so everyone can gather and it's pretty easy to find.
11.30am
Catch the train to go to Horwich, this is where the bowling and the cinema are. PLEASE, if you are not there for this time, send me or Ári a text, I will have my phone out throughout the time I am there, if I do not receive a text or call from anyone, we will be setting off and you will have to come and meet us there.
12.00pm-1.00pm
Food, this is your chance to go off for food wherever you like. Please let me know if you wish to plan anywhere for people to go. Once you have finished eating, head towards the bowling place.
1.30pm-?
Bowling. No idea when we will be done here, but hopefully before 4! If it goes on later, for those who wish to go to the cinema, we will be sorting that out and heading over there around 5ish.
5.00pm-ISH
Cinema. I will be uploading what film we will be heading for
RULES:
- NO FURSUITS. I must stress to you all, this is not a fursuiting meet. What I will welcome is tails, ears, handpaws and footpaws. Feel free to knock yourselves out with them. Fursuit heads must not be worn due to covering of the face in a public liability area.
- General manners. I will not tolerate any form of violence against others, nor will I tolerate badmouthing others in a disgusting manner. Please, if you feel intimidated by anyone else at the meet, or they threaten you in some way, please let me know immediately!
Otherwise, aside from all that, lets make this meet a fun one! :3

MancFurs Newsletter - Mid June 2012
Posted 13 years agoMancFur comrades, various pieces of information concerning the mini meet this weekend and non-mini meet stuff.
MancFur Wikifur pub quiz team
Despite the valent effort during Confuzzled 2012 wikifur pub quiz, the MancFurs team could only manage 5th this year. Big thanks goes out to
pablo00726,
njhcerebus,
sdfofbc and
smraedis for representing the region and trying their best!
Classified Listings
Tracker's selling a model of a cute feral fox, which was originally intended to be the master for modal cast. It's already primed and is ready to paint in a choice of colours if you contact him soon (else he'll do whatever he artistically wants to), available for 15 quid and collectable at this weekend's furmeet. Contactable at the meet or at his SoFurry account.
Outputt is currently opened for commissions, this is her pricing. Also she's currently doing a free art raffle; it's a rainbow raffle so the colour of your fursona matters. Read the entry rules here and enter before 00:00 (12pm) GMT Friday 8th June... although we have no idea if she actually means GMT or BST.
TechKat has an image hosting website service going called iKat.me which is also accepting advertisement at cheap rates (read here) He is also accepting website commissioning which you can contact him about at techkat[at]techkat.co.uk
Tyla is still flogging his drum kit if anybody is interested in getting a set.
Got something to advertise about? Let us know and we'll include it in the next newsletter and tweet about it!
Manchester Mini Meet June 2012
We like to always stress that anybody who's very shy or nervous if it's their first meet, the organisers are available to talk to and get phone numbers if you privately message them. Stuart Otterson is the fur you primarily want to find if you're looking for someone to welcome you as he's the community assistant. Please remember to make an effort though and not just hope magically everyone will speak with you. Also Stuart does have stuff to be doing so don't expect him to babysit you the entire day
Some other bits of information regarding the upcoming meet this weekend:
It's
Satanic-furry birthday this weekend and
carmel nearby too, so wish them much happiness if you see them.
wolfterrier will be bringing her portfolio of work along with her to the Mini meet this weekend so you can take a look and commission her for work and such.
We expect it to rain, so please bring appropriate clothes for such weather. We shouldn't have to be saying this either but please make sure you adequately wipe your shoes when you enter and walk about, else it becomes a bit of a health and safety hazard if the stairs and such get slippery.
Greskil should be our DJ for the evening party.
Regardless of whether you're interested in the evening party or not the upper floor of Crunch will close at 6pm to be cleaned up and readied for general customer admission. So might as well make your way to Lower Crunch seeing as it'll be raining outside and we'd rather people don't jam up the area just outside Upper Crunch.
Under 18s are allowed at the evening party, same rules as usual apply I'm sure I don't need to patronise them. Please remember under 18s have to leave the premise by 9pm.
Fursuiters dancing at the evening party, there should be a changing room downstairs and a water tank with long straws available.
On a serious note we'd like to remind attendees to report to the organisers anyone attempting to solicit activities that are against the MancFur meet rules (or to put it less subtly and more bluntly, bonking in inappropriate places).
Glow stick merchandise
lone-the-dog is selling glow sticks for the evening party. His goods include:
Glow sticks:
Bracelets,
Necklaces,

As a reminder Lone has negotiated for us to have special 'members' prices for drinks regardless of whether you're a Crunch card holder or not. This includes soft drinks and we also have a buy-one-get-one-free deal on cocktails.
For the ground and lower floor you can get pitchers for £6:

Manchester Mini Meet - 9th to 10th June
Posted 13 years agoIf you're a new fur, do not hesitate to get in touch with us, be it to grab our number or just a picture of
Darkoverord (he's the giant, ginger and full of beard, you can't miss him), then PLEASE get in touch with us.
I shall also draw attention to the Manchester Meet Rules. This is for new and old furs alike and if you do find ANYTHING going on, don't hesitate to inform Dark, Ska, or any of the volunteers! Please :V
Saturday 9th
By 12PM - meet up at Manchester Piccadilly Train station
Piccadilly: Until 12PM we'll be gathering near the departure/arrival signs and Platform 1 &2
If the police have moved as along before 12, wait patently at Whitworth Gardens on Canal Street.
Make sure you have someone's phone number in case you show up late and no-one's there! If need be PM, me ASAP to get my number if you think you'll need it c: Otherwise, we're easily spottable. The Furry in it's natural habitat of the train station wears tails, conbadges and generally huddle in a big group! If you're new don't be afraid to say hello, specially to me, I'm tall and ginger, you can't miss me, as stated earlier.
I will also make this point, what I may do if the weather is going to keep up like it is now is NOT kick you outside, but tell you to go to either of the bars upstairs in the Train Station, or to food upstairs. I'm not cruel enough to make you stand around in the cold.
At 12PM - Head to Crunch on Canal St.
To Crunch! Middle of the street, has the Pac-man logo. Apparently cocktails will be BOGOF'd during the meet too.
FOOD
1PM - Pizza
Generally
Tsubaki_Wolf
As per Manchester Meet tradition, at 1PM, Furs will be heading over to the local Pizza shop, which sell more than Pizza, they sell burgers, chips and kababs too! Just make sure you head out of Crunch at about 12:55, just to give whoever is doing the pizza run enough time to gather all those who want to go together! The place is only round the corner.
1:30pm - Food at the Arndale Markets or Food Court
Shez
Behold the wonders of FOOD
3pm - Fursuit walk
TBC
It'll be sorted on the day, Stuart is apparently volunteering XP
6PM Onwards...
Lone and Stuart
After the success of Greskil's evening party in April, we're going to be making evening party segments a more regular occurrence. Crunch usually need to give the upstairs area a clean up at 6pm anyway, so they've given us use of their underground floor for the evening.
I admit because we've not had a lot of time to organise this, it will feel a little low key but we hope to build it up with practice and learn how to build up the event. So a bit of patience if the organisation is a little shaky next weekend.
The under 18s will be allowed to go to the downstairs area, same rules apply as usual concerning prohibition of alcohol and that they'll need to leave the venue premise by 9pm.
Sunday 10th
By 12PM - Meet at the Train Station
Stuart Otterson
Manchester Day Parade
Stuart Otterson will be resurrecting the Sunday portions of the mini meets. There will be a parade going on around the city centre with colourful stuff, loud sounds and an awful lot of tacky and weird floats. Afterwards we'll hang out at Nexas Café or wherever our impulses may lead us.

I shall also draw attention to the Manchester Meet Rules. This is for new and old furs alike and if you do find ANYTHING going on, don't hesitate to inform Dark, Ska, or any of the volunteers! Please :V

FOOD
1PM - Pizza
Generally

As per Manchester Meet tradition, at 1PM, Furs will be heading over to the local Pizza shop, which sell more than Pizza, they sell burgers, chips and kababs too! Just make sure you head out of Crunch at about 12:55, just to give whoever is doing the pizza run enough time to gather all those who want to go together! The place is only round the corner.
1:30pm - Food at the Arndale Markets or Food Court

MancFurs camping trip to Wales [9th July]
Posted 13 years agoA camping trip is taking place from the 9th July onwards consisting of a lot of MancFurs taking a trip to the coast of Wales, Brynrodyn Caravan Park to be precise.
The way it's been arrange is that it won't be organised centrally. Instead each person paying for the renting of tent space at the camp site is in charge of getting their tent filled and arranging the transport of their contingent.
The campsite charges £15 per tent per night. Times that by the number of nights you wish to stay then divide by occupants and you'll have the costs sorted. The land owners usually expect 4 people per tent, if you bring a tent with a larger capacity the site says you ought to get in contact with them.
As for what there's to do. There's a beach, there's a local zoo, I think an amusement park and a town and good fish and chips if I recall from what I've been told in the past. It's also a nice place for a stroll and hike. Apparently there's a lot there. There is also a free shower facility there.
So far we are aware of 4 tents.

Getting there
On the 9th there will be a loose convoy of cars heading towards the Welsh coast from Manchester.
There will be a stop halfway through the journey at Lake Bala to stretch legs, get refreshments and drivers to get a little rest.
Check back in the future for details on transport slots.
