I've branched out to Patreon.
General | Posted 8 years agoSo I've decided to expand into Patreon. I've had the account for months, but after completion I never used it. As of today, I finished updating my page and will begin posting all of my work there as well. My Patreon currently DOES NOT charge, as I'm not nearly popular enough to live off of my literature. I have, however, created several goals. If I gather 20 patrons, I'll fast-track the sequel to Hejira: Crystalline Hall, and make a video of my writing process. I may even share personal stories in said video. If I gather 50 patrons, I will work on a very special story. This story isn't just any story, however. It was the first story I wrote while driving cross-country in an 18-wheeler. It's a volume fantasy-adventure with a sci-fi twist, and when I left it half finished, it was just over 700 pages long. Upon reached the goal of 50 patrons, I will put on hold all stories and poetry to fervently work on finishing, editing and completing my work. I may even throw in videos to show my progress and my writing process for that story as well. At 100 Patrons, I'll make a Discord server, and guarantee monthly videos detailing my work. Thank you for your time. =^_^=

My Universes
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, as I post more of my actual stories, I feel compelled to explain my canon universes to whoever may be curious; there are two set universes in my stories, the Macro and the Micro.
Micro: This universe is strictly for stand-alone work with no ties in any way to the other stories that I create. In these works, anthros may have different race names and histories, perhaps bonuses from their animal species. These works most likely won't even involve Earth as we know it. Interbreeding between humans and anthros will also create more logical hybrid offspring. Hejira is a Micro universe story.
Macro: This universe, on the other hand, is a set world where every story, regardless of the time-frame, is in some way, shape, or form, connected to other stories. It might only be the world’s structure, but they are all taking place on the same Earth. In these stories, the anthros are always called ‘Voeldahn’, regardless of their animal species, a word I just made up because it felt right. The Voeldahn have existed since the dawn of man, and developed alongside humans. They have existed throughout history, and would be logically depicted in things such as cave paintings, ancient statues, etc. The Voeldahn have no bonuses from their animal traits; aside from their looks, they are identical to human’s in every way. World history is revised as a result of the Voeldahn’s existence. The American Civil Rights Movement, for example, has been altered with Voeldahn (slaves) versus humans (masters). In the macro universe, interbreeding results in a child that always matches the mother, regardless of coupling, e.g. a human male and Voeldahn female have Voeldahn children that are the same animal-species as their mother, and vice versa. Until I write an explanation for this, expect it to be routinely hand-waved. Drag Me Down, the sequel, and the upcoming third novella, Perambulation are all in the Macro universe.
Other Works: Stories like Chimerical, an Elder Scrolls fanfiction, are obviously true to the universe that Bethesda created.

Reposts, new signature, and future projects.
General | Posted 8 years agoHello everyone. I'm going to be kicking a bit of info your way, so bear with me.
Reposts: As a result of the hard to read script that I love oh so much, I've painstakingly editing most of my work and am reposting it with my chosen plain text. I'm just enthusiastic enough to make these new posts, but too lazy to delete the previous ones. Apologies to anyone for the inconvenience, and sorry if I got your hopes up with a huge submission dump.
New Signature: I've used my meager Photoshop skills to draft a signature, which I will be including in effectively every story and poem worthy of a print-only .pdf file. This signature will be posted in the bottom right corner of all .pdf files from now on, except for the work that came before it, unless it's a repost. Any work that is posted with that signature was written in part or entirely by me, and all other posts without it are forgeries, and I'm probably dead, have been hacked, or gone insane. So just remember that.
Future Projects: I've begun a novella series after the sequel to 'Drag Me Down' intrigued me so much. The third story, already titled 'Perambulation', is going to be a much more lighthearted, downright comical work taking place about a decade after 'Drag Me Down Again', and will see the return of the nefarious April, who's family line will make regular appearances in most of my work, as they had since I introduced June in 'The Runners' series.
I am also returning to 'Chimerical', my Elder Scrolls fanfiction, since I love the story-line, and I've been playing a lot of more of it these days. Expect weekly or bi-weekly posts of that one, at least until I end the first season.

Fonts
General | Posted 8 years agoIt has been brought to my attention that my penchant for goofy, old-style fonts are not the easiest to read. From this moment on, I will post two version of all of my stories: plain fonts, and my personal preference. Plain text will be listed in the title to differentiate. I may also upload plain text versions of my previously published stories. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Last Post Of The Year
General | Posted 8 years agoDon’t let the title fool you. I have too many stories to write and post before I’m dead to be vanishing already. I digress... As 2017 rolls over into 2018 in barely 36 hours, I wanted to wish everyone who may grace my page with their presence a happy new year. In your honor, I wrote out a little story, just for you, whoever you are. It’s just a little 30-something page deal I whipped up in a few hours, though I hope you enjoy it. I certainly did. As for my resolution, I’m going to stick to my damn stories until they are finished, before taking on new projects. I’m so full of ideas, among other things (harhar), that I also promise to not be disappearing anytime soon. I’m planning on hanging around FA for quite a while. Granted, access to the Internet is limited now that I’m back in my semi-truck, so expect weekly or bi-weekly posts.
I Know What I Said Before, But...
General | Posted 8 years agoI know in my last journal entry I said that I really want to finish a few stories, and I sincerely do, but I started yet another new project. I spent the last five weeks living in my semi-truck, and when I got home for a week of home time, all I could do was power-game Elder Scrolls Online. When I wasn't in the mood to play as my Khajiit Nightblade, I was thinking about the game. The logical step for an amateur writer like myself was to turn my thoughts into a fanfiction, strictly to keep me using my laptop while I'm home. After Christmas, I'll be back on the road for another month, give or take a few days, so I can use my free time to finish the stories I have planned. Drag Me Down Again (Get it? Because it's a sequel! Lol.) is already partially written, and is a darker and edgier version of the first novella. I also have a planned story called "White Sun Red Son" which is about pre-civil war slavery in the United States, with anthros as the slaves. In the meantime, enjoy reading my personal fantasies in the Elder Scrolls universe. Yes, the Khajiit are prominently featured in my story, as is their language, Ta'agra, because I'm a huge fan of Elder Scrolls.
Partial Writers Block
General | Posted 8 years agoWell, I’ve come to the realization that I can’t continue The Runners, at least for the moment. I had written Episodes 7 and 8 probably a week ago, while still on the road. I don’t believe I have any real followers right now, since I’m so new to FA; I doubt I’m upsetting anybody by putting The Runners on a prolonged hold. I’m often so stubborn that when I say “I’m going to do [blank]!” then I do it, even if it makes other projects, and myself, suffer. I was getting ideas for several new short stories/novellas, including a sequel to Drag Me Down, and it hit me that The Runners is going to keep me stagnant, since I simply can’t make it past Episode 9 at the moment. I’m just going to write whatever I feel like, and shelve the projects that leave me stumped, though I promise to whoever may or may not be reading this, I will absolutely finish The Runners eventually.
In The Works
General | Posted 8 years agoBeing a long haul truck driver who regularly cruises the east coast United States makes posting on a regular basis somewhat difficult. I often find myself with several episodes or short stories to post at once. In fact, most of my ideas come to my while listening to ear splitting metal while I fly down some random freeway, scaring the hell out of people in little Toyota Prius and Honda Civics. Typically, I end up with several ideas in the making, and am forced to shelve them until "I feel it." That being said, I'm making a concerted effort to finish The Runners, because I feel like if I don't have that one completed, I can't return to working on Hejira, which is what I really want to do right now. It has a whole second book in the making; nearly a dozen chapters are already outlined, and some are written, though I doubt anyone has even read the first book yet, but I digress. I'll see what I can get done over the weekend.
Waffling
General | Posted 8 years agoFirst journal entry on a not even 24-hour old account, so at this point I'm writing for myself. Regardless, I'm struggling with insomnia again, and I have to get working in under six hours. I often spend my nights thinking about my characters and stories, when I should in fact be sleeping. I have been working on stories far longer than I have been using FA, as noted by my first 30-something-minutes posting a 460+ page season of Hejira, a song, and three poems. I took a break from Hejira while 5 or 6 episodes into season two, because I just wasn't feeling it as much. I started a new story called 'The Runners', another episodic story that goes on for ages; a crime action/drama from primarily the criminal's perspective. I have currently been struggling with writer's block, trying to keep The Runners going, and now I am recalling story ideas I had nearly a year ago that I feel I should be writing instead. I originally wanted to post The Runners as a complete collection, as I did with Hejira: Crystalline Hall, but at this point, I think I may just post the episodes I have written and proofread individually, while I try to decide what the hell I am even doing. I may do this for the second season of Hejira, which is titled Hejira: Sanguine Wave. Season two ramps up the violence, as opposed to Crystalline Hall, which was pretty much a straight action adventure/drama, with occasional spats of bloodletting. Also, I just added a new poem for no other reason than I felt compelled to write it.
