I'm planning on participating in Tigerdile's HomeCon this weekend. I'll be streaming on Friday and Saturday, so if you can't make it to a convention, or you've always wanted to peek over my shoulder and watch me draw your character, this is the perfect opportunity!

I have limited slots available for Friday (4-6 pm Mountain) and Saturday (2-4 pm Mountain). I may extend the hours if I get a lot of takers, but we'll start with this.

Badges are full colour marker, and start at $70 US. Con sketches are 8x10: Pencil $70, Ink $80, Colour $100 (one character, second character extra). You'll pay in advance with PayPal.

I'm participating in Inktober this month! Every day (or nearly...) I'll be doing an inked drawing and posting it on Instagram. It's just a fun thing, pushing me to do something creative every day, and trying out different themes and styles that I don't normally use in my day-to-day art. Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table in the West Dealer's Room at Further Confusion last weekend--it was great meeting you and drawing your cute characters! The new space was very roomy, and it's always nice to visit California in the middle of Canadian winter. I had time to work on my children's chapter book WIP (my new portable keyboard works just great with my iPad!), and read a selection to my artist pals, which was well received. Hi everyone!

Hope you've had an enjoyable holiday. I felt like we had lots of time to enjoy our favourite things this Christmas. Made a turkey for our family on Christmas Day, spent the day in pj's and played games with the kids (including their new board game Pandemic). Went to many movies: Moana, Rogue 1, Collateral Beauty, Passenger, and Lion. Had lunch with good friends we haven't seen in a long time, and then for a spontaneous movie date with them. Dessert coffee at Starbucks (half sweet Chestnut Praline latte), yum! Setting a puzzle and nibbling on snacks.

Now for New Years we'll go watch the fireworks at the community centre with the boys, have a salmon bake, and spend New Years Day playing games and watching movies. How about you?

Then it's time for all the newness of January! Just to let you know, my commission rates will increase January 1, 2017. Badges will start at $70, and 8x10 commissions will start at $170. I'm excited that I'm in a position professionally to increase my rates, as it means that I've advanced as an artist.
