July 2025 production update

June 2025 update

I hope this month has been good for you and your families. I won't keep you long with this one as I don't have to to much to say that hasn't been said in other posts earlier this month.
So to start us off animation wise we're a little over if not exactly at half way done with the season finale. We're on the back half now which means soon I get to animate a four sided fight between a demon, a pissed off hellhound, a angel and a "freaking moron" so that'll be interesting. I have gone as far to even begin to storyboard out this entire segment and plan to storyboard out the entire rest of the episode just for a peace of mind.
I say that because normally I have the episode shots planned out in my head and I just go with it, film the reference footage, animate over it and all that. But with this season finale there's so much more than a normal episode. We have emotional moments and plot more dynamic shots going on. Not to mention this bas boy as previously mentioned WILL be clocking in roughly around 45 to 50 minutes long. So I would like to have a game plan for how it plays out so that I have peace of mind and I'm not here wondering and thinking "what if the endings bad? Maybe I should do this or rewrite that". I believe if I had it story boarded all out and could see in its entirety I would be alone happier with it and less worried. I won't lie I rewrote this entire thing 3 times now lol just because I don't wanna cap off the first season with a shitty episode.
That being said also....I don't know if I can firmly say the episode will be done by October with all the music work my composer will need to do, all the animation left to do, the background art that my amazing background artist will need to do and not to mention calculating in time for breaks for people because again we ALL mostly do this in our spare time when we can....I don't know if this will be done by halloween and im sorry. The first half of this episode took a lot out me and I know its taken a toll on my crew despite what they say I can tell it has. So I can just say it'll be out this fall sometime hopefully before the end of the year.
I understand if this upsets you all and I will completely understand if that wait will make you want to unsubscribe or start hating us or whatever. But this show is something I make with my friends for fun to entertain and tell a goofy love story of sorts. If we push to hard and get burnt out that joy will make it feel like its more of a chore to do the show than anything.
Anyways on a happier note since my birthday is in July near the end of the month and I won't make any solid promises but I have debated uploading a little clip from ep7 just for you all to show what you can expect from ep7. That being said sorry for talking your ear off this time. I hope you all have a pleasant day, a nice month ahead and I will talk to you all again later.

Madtown ep7 stuff
Posted 5 months agoSooo with the new pc set up, my programs and all updated and installed i realised after a test render. The first 10 minutes of episode 7 of the s1 finale of the show WONT look like the other 3 quaters... It's rendering everything more crisp and higher quality with the updates!
I know my older pc could only handle programs from 2018-2019 so i knew getting a new one would give things a slight quality shift. But not to this effect! It took hours to render a shot with action like max vs vampire took hours for ep2. The stuff i was doing for ep7 before i decided to get a new pc was taking longer which made me finally break down and upgrade after old faithful crash for the 3 time trying to render max's flaming form for ep7's fight. Now here we are and i got up to date software and everything with this new pc and it's great it's rending stuff in a crisper and high quality but man! It making me look at my old art and wonder if i was just crappy before or what? Lol
Anyways! Good things coming !

Monthly update - March 2025

This month has been quite a let's say intresting, for lack of a better term. The pieces feel into place and we were finally able to release episode 6, episode 7's production kicked is already on a heavy roll and i went from being as nervous and shaky as a leaf on a tree to relieved and happy as hell. What the hell do i mean by all that?
Well let's get into it! Basically while I had already finished Animation for ep6 very early into last month the remaining pieces i needed were the musical score and the songs for Maxine's performance and the montage scene. So i had a couple of weeks to relax, recuperate to let the burn out fade away and even have fun designing few outfits for ep7. Then obviously once I got the music and songs everything was edited in and I touched up the episode before uploading it and releasing it for you all to enjoy. I was going to release it on april 1st as a joke to make people wonder if it was a real episode but with the serious tone of the episode and the emotional subject matter it was decided early on "no when it's done we will pick a better time" and thus we had it release this past Thursday.
I won't lie my small team, myself and even Vicky's actress were nervous about the episode with all the work we put into it and given the more serious/emotional tone i was especially nervous. Because as i stated in the past I never took any writing classes, went to film school or any of that stuff! So for me this was a sorta tip toe into the water moment sorta speak because all I had written so far was comedy with serious moments sprinkled in. I didn't know if trying to do a more emotional and serious tone in a episode would work or blow up in my face. But you guys actually enjoyed it! My cast and crew have not stopped looking at reading your kind comments, your theories and discussions about the episode. It has seriously meant alot to us all and I cannot say enough kind words to thank you all for your love and support for this show, it's world and it's characters.
Now then what's the news on episode 7 the big season finale aka the "Best friends day out" episode? Well to start us off i cannot say when it will come out as i don't like to set release dates to rush my work. I can guess that if all goes well you can exspect it possibly early this fall perhaps? It's hard to say because unlike the other episodes this one will have a longer runtime (clocking in at around one hour), it has emotional and heart felt moments, a big fight with a frog man, mark and maaaybe a certain giant wolf? And on top of all that it will be answering a few questions about mark and his past as to why he is how he is, it will show us some parts of maxine's past and alot more. So as you can probably imagine that's a tall order for 1 animator and a small indie team of voice actors, music composers and a couple addional artists. So please just continue to be patient friends trust me, once we get further along into development then we will have a better idea if a release time but it's gonna be a while 😅
In the meantime i would like to say offically I can confirm yes you will see what happened to Mark and why he appeared the way he did in ep6's ending and no it was NOT Maxine who did it however she WAS there when it happened. You will also see the aftermath of when he returns home annnd some other stuff but I can't tell you how many people have asked that since episode 6 released and i wanted to make sure everyone knew. Guess this part goes without saying but for those who were curious yes max will return in episode 7 more than just a cameo it's gonna revolve around mark and her as well as the other friends along for their "Best friends day out" adventure. I hope this anwsers some of your questions and concerns friends.
So before i wrap this up I would like to say thank you to everyone of you for your love and support for our silly little demon show. I know it's not perfect, it's animation could be better and the story could be written better too but the fact that you all continue to support it and cheer it on despite those flaws and those errors means more to me and my small team than anything in the world. So again thank you all so much I love you guys ! I will leave this off and say I hope you all had a decent march and I hope we can all have another decent month ahead. Posted 9 months agoI don't have any art or anything special to post but i wanted to just take the time to say i love you guys. You guys mean alot to me and your continued support and passion for my silly little show means alot to me. I love reading your comments, your theories, your fan fictions and I love seeing your fan art. It's very surrel to see and it's awesome. I truely love it all and i never express enough just how much it means to me. So I just wanted to say you guys make this project worth doing and make me love writing this story and doing more with these characters.

Hello folks Marcus s (trash panda here)
I don't know if you'll read this or not i am using a Starbucks Wi-Fi signal that's weak in town. I won't lie...i can't work on ep5 or ep6 or ep7 right now. My home/apartment was struck bad by Hurricane Helena and now we are without power, running water or gas. Me and my partner have stood in line for several hours to get food with cash only at the grocery store that had some power running, we got one 24 pack of water for free as Sam's club was handing them out. Luckily we're packing lightly to get out of town now and head to my partners parents home if we can get out of north Carolina.
And to make matters worse on this my lease for my apartment i mentioned i was moving out of this month. The lease for it is over next friday So I will have to find a way to move my stuff if I can find a place with rent trucks still working that hasn't been washed out. All while knowing there's a strong chance there could be another hurricane that will come that same path to hit us like Helena did which would flood out everything again this weekend into next week and make recovering anything in said apartment impossible...
But as of now i can no longer promise if or when any comics, full episodes or any work on madtown will occur. Im sorry if this upsets you i hate this too espically with all the kind support from you all lately with the recent New episode clips and stuff I've posted it means alot but I have no way to work on it and I am sorry. I whole hearted promise the second i can i will SO DO SO! You all mean the world to me, madtown and it's characters mean the world me.
I will update you when and where i can and please if you're also effected by this stay safe, be safe and be kind. We've seen scary litteral fights breaking out from people getting food and what donations are going out, so please be kind and safe to one another and we will make it through this.

August 2024 channel update

I hope you all are doing well! It's going to be a crazy month ahead for me with moving and stuff. But here's a little update on what's coming up! I know I promised many of you a Christmas special this year and 2 more episodes after to round out this first season but honestly I keep giving it thought and there are some days I'm tempted to do just the Christmas episode, the season finale and just let that be it for now. I'm not gonna lie things haven't been easy for me with this project some days but I'm not gonna up and quit because I want to at the very least cap off this story arc.
Basically what I'm saying is after the Christmas special episode there might just be one more episode and that'll be all from me for a while. I'm sorry I know that sucks to hear but i want to either A learn to do better animation and framing or B find a way to get help animating episodes to make them look as good as you guys deserve...because I read all the comments and i know not everyone thinks of my style as "good looking" for lack of a better term.
So i will either try to attempt enhancing my artwork and animation, assemble a team or if none of that works and i still feel this way I might retire this project. I say that because as i said i read all the comments, the questions and the feedback on all platforms and the "copycat" comments, the "this is trash/furry bait" comments and the "your animation sucks get the thumbnail artist to animate for you" comments hurt the most. Especially when it's just myself animating all of this for months on end in my spare time outside of work, spending time with my family, friends and my partner. It hurts to read that and know i spent so much time only for people to see it that way and hate what i made. I need and want to do better but I don't know if i can and it is on that somber note that i will say i cannot guarantee 2 episodes after Christmas any longer it might just be one and done after that.

Hey guys..
Posted a year agoI just wanted to say a little something for those who follow me here as i feel perhaps you have more of a intrest in my art than others perhaps? Or at the very least it seems you like to know more of how things are going.
I won't lie i am currently taking a how many put it "much deserved and long over due" break for the next week or two from animating, drawing or doing anything on social media related to madtown stuff really.
I NEVER stopped to take breaks between episodes since January...i animated ep3 with the devil then jumped straight into the love bugs one then ep4 and my parts for this year's big christmas episode and not once for more than a day or so did i break. Til now...with ep5 and how meaningful both it and the next episode will be for this story...I want to put my best foot forward and i couldn't do that in good faith with how i felt last week before i started this break. I could tell I was rushing and trying to move along quickly without enjoying it. i also was doing art prompts and forcing myself to post sketches and regular unimportant stuff on social media to keep my content relevant and while some of the prompts were fun it wasn't always the case.
That's not how I did things when i started this project and I'm not going to let it continue down that path. So please know I'm going to take this much needed break then I'll go back to swinging at ep5. But after that and even between now and then don't exspect to much. There might be the odd drawing or two but that's gonna be about it and if that's upsetting i do understand but that's not how i want to be with my project anymore.

Posted a year agoSo this is my little monthly report so all can know what's going on with the show and what not ! As well as get a sense of what to exspect!
As of now main animation is done for this year's big christmas episode. However it will take time for my guest animators and artists to do their pieces for the episodes "jumping from universe to universe"/changing art styles as they beat up Santa thing. Buy i foreseen this would happen so that's why i went and did all my artwork and animation i could do on my end to make sure the others had all their refrences and art to go off of for their segments.
That being said! It's still going to be ready for Christmas this year. As for what I'm working on now as you may have seen from the recent "ep5 clip - meet robbie" video i am currently starting to animate episode 5 of madtown season 1. As far as progress i would say im maaaaaaybe 10 or 15 percent done with animating it. I would love to say I'll have it done for a release on halloween but unfortunately given ill have to move in the coming months and ill be dealing with that fun...sooo unfortunately as of now unless there is a miracle in the next two months. i don't think that a halloween release would be do able.
Rest assured I will continue to work on it when and where i can. I will take all the time i need to make it look and sound the best i can. But again Just know it might come out later than October or maybe even next year if it has too. But.when it is finished and I've done all i can to make sure all the animation, sound and music composing is as good as i can make it then i will upload it.
Also fun fact!
Me and my friend Wiley just finished writing, editing and composing the song Maxine and her band will preform in episode 5. It was SO much fun to write a actual song of our own for the show like that with lyrics, metal guitar solos and all that! It's awesome ! And i cannot wait for you all to see her performance of it in the episode!
Lastly i know the channel reached 15k subscribers i did gather the questions me and the show's characters will anwser. They have been sent off to said actors for those characters and i can say i think given the fun their having improving anwsers to your questions and all that. You're all in for a real treat when it comes out trust me! It might take some time though given a couple of the actors have personal life stuff of their own going on as well. But please know it will happen once i get all the lines and have time to animate it after ep5 probably. I know that'll probably upset some of you but please be patient and understand that the people i work with mean alot to me and i don't want to rush them along for my silly show lol itll come eventually it just might be a tad late is all lol.
Anyways! That's all for now though folks, in the meantime exspect any updates or cute art prompts or webcomics to maybe pop up here or on Twitter, deviantart or YouTube in the meantime. I would love to say I'll have it done for a release on halloween but unfortunately given ill have to move in the coming months and ill be dealing with that fun...sooo unfortunately as of now unless there is a miracle in the next two months. i don't think that a halloween release would be do able.
Rest assured I will continue to work on it when and where i can. I will take all the time i need to make it look and sound the best i can. But again Just know it might come out later than October or maybe even next year if it has too. But.when it is finished and I've done all i can to make sure all the animation, sound and music composing is as good as i can make it then i will upload it.
Also fun fact!
Me and my friend Wiley just finished writing, editing and composing the song Maxine and her band will preform in episode 5. It was SO much fun to write a actual song of our own for the show like that with lyrics, metal guitar solos and all that! It's awesome ! And i cannot wait for you all to see her performance of it in the episode!
Lastly i know the channel reached 15k subscribers i did gather the questions me and the show's characters will anwser. They have been sent off to said actors for those characters and i can say i think given the fun their having improving anwsers to your questions and all that. You're all in for a real treat when it comes out trust me! It might take some time though given a couple of the actors have personal life stuff of their own going on as well. But please know it will happen once i get all the lines and have time to animate it after ep5 probably. I know that'll probably upset some of you but please be patient and understand that the people i work with mean alot to me and i don't want to rush them along for my silly show lol itll come eventually it just might be a tad late is all lol.
