Mari Pari™: Now Available in Hotlanta!
Posted 14 years agoOkay so! Day 5 into living in Atlanta...Most of the settling in is behind me, thank god. I really have had no time to stop and take a break until now. I'll give everyone a little refresher since I havent had time for updates.
Friday me and caustickeet got up at the crack of dawn and got a moving van, loaded all of our shit up into it and took off around 1pm to go to atlanta. It was slow going and by the end of the day I dont think I have ever been that exausted in my entire life. X-x However, since we live in the middle of India-Town in Decatur, we went out that night for ...INDIAN CHINESE FOOD. Best shit ever, even if its weird. Spent the rest of the night with booze, an SNES emulator hooked up to a TV and two pillows on the living room floor.
Saturday, we had the rest of the truck unloaded, then Comcast came and hooked us up with internets. We took the truck back and scouted the area for a while before I had to head back to Huntsville...spent the night over there and then returned on Sunday evening with my kitty cat. Nyx likes the new place, thankfully. :3
So after that my first day at my new job was on Monday. Its good but it makes for a long day, and its very busy. But thats good, since I was laid off at my last job for lack of work...Lots of work = job security x-x I've had a fun time the first part of this week getting settled in and learning the area. I've visited some cool places and have yet to really see much of the town but I'll get there!
So far, I really love it here. I feel comfortable and even excited for the first time in a while. Now that things are starting to slow down a little, I have to make time for some fun and some new friends, hopefully. So any furs in the area, we should chill B3!
As for personal art and commissions, I'm back into a groove where I should be able to take them again, thank goodness. The good thing is I'm starting to feel like I want to draw, which is great since I've been blocked ever since I started moving out of my apartment 4 weeks ago. X-x

What I've been up to (I'm not dead!)
Posted 14 years agoSo yeah XD Second semester of school kicked in and I've litteraly had NO time at all to myself. Tonight is my first official night out of my apartment where I lived for two years. In the past month I'veee....
Packed my apartment
Moved a bunch of boxes
learned oil painting
done a million multimedia projects
done some freelance work
applied for a zillion jobs
apartment/home hunting in Atlanta
This last Wednesday I went to a job interview in Atlanta for a marketing media job. It went really well I think, and they began calling my references that afternoon. So hopefully I'll get that!
I also found a condo to share with caustickeet and went ahead and put a down payment on it today. its in Decatur, GA, which is a few minutes away from the city center, but quiet enough to be comfortable. We really wanted to live in Inman Park or Candler Park but its just out of our price range right now. :<
So now I have a few more days of class, and then I get my degree and I take off to start my carreer! Once a steady paycheck starts coming in and I get settled, Things will be alot easier for me and I'll be able to devote more time to digital artings. :3
But on that note, in case anyone's interested, here are some of the things I've been making in classes:

It was inspired from a dream I had years ago. I want to try it with oils so hopefully it turns out well.
Anyway, so that's all! Wish me luck with the interview/job, and I'll be back around once I'm moved and settled in Hotlanta.

Why do some/most furries role-play with pictures instead of commenting on the art or piece as a whole?
For example, you post some smut or a pinup and someone comes in and is like "oh u r so naughty yes *murrs and spanks ur butt*" Like, it doesn't add to anything at all, or tell me what I did right or wrong in a piece. Just wondering if it happens to anyone else and what you guys think of it. Discuss

I'm going to experiment and try to make something a little bigger too. What do you guys think about custom sketchbooks? Good idea, bad idea, whut? I could pretty much make whatever this way. Like, even character-themed books! But I still have a couple more binding techniques to learn. We're doing Japanese stab binding next week, which I'm pretty excited about! Posted 14 years agoSo yeah, school started for me a couple weeks ago. For the month of june I have Digital Watercolor from 8:00 am to 12:00pm, and Bookmaking from 12:30pm to 4:30pm. I've had a hard time getting up early for class and its super fast paced, so I haven't had much spare time since I've also had commissions to do on the side. But all this work isn't fruitless...if you're interested, here's what all I've produced in the past 2 weeks:

So these classes are turning out to be pretty fun, but they really are time consuming. We're currently learning popups and french binding in bookmaking, and
I do plan on offering custom hand-made sketchbooks once I make a few nice books that I'm happy with. What do you guys think about that? How much would you pay for a custom made, personalized sketchbook?
Aside from all this crap I also am working on a freelance book cover project, along with my commissions...all while I hunt for jobs and places to live in Atlanta. If anyone has any hookups or information about jobs or good places to live in Atlanta, please let me know! Its been alot of hard work, but I sure hope it pays off and someone calls me for an interview.
Anyway, that's about it! Just wanted everyone to know that I'm not falling out, I'm just very busy, like I always am. :3

Posted 14 years agoYeahhh but apparently everyone's gotten their power back but me, so I'm at 's house for a hot shower and some power. The break has actually been really nice and I almost didnt want to come back online...teehee. Being outside in the day and reading quietly by candlelight has been a great mental-vacation...That and, the power being out has caused my school to suspend finals so I dont even have to take them now. Ugh, much needed vacation, but there's so much more work to do now that power is returning....
I'll probably be spending my days cleaning the appartment, doing laundry and enjoying what little free time I have left before summer semester and moving....X-x
Also want to say thanks to all my friends that tried to contact me and make sure I was ok durring the bad weather and outages. I tried to do the same with what limited phone batteries I've had but I'm sure everyone is pulling through ok by now.
