so some thoughts on NSFW YCH's in regards to how they're advertised/the info on them;

I've run into this a lot since I've recently started looking at buying some YCH's. SO many just write 'male only' or 'female only' but when i ask if trans male with a vagina is ok I get told that they basically meant flat chested characters with a dick. Which is fine!! it's OK to just wanna draw a dick!

and i know it's not something people really tend to think about. This is certainly something I've done myself and never noticed until it was me looking to buy.

It's just frustrating that people say 'male only' but my character is male and excluded cause he doesn't have a dick. it feels like writing 'male only' is reinforcing the idea that male = penis and penis = male (and the same with writing female only meaning boobs+vagina).

I figure a fix for this would be to instead write what parts are ok for the pose? eg 'flat chested characters with a penis'

and I know I can't tell people what to write, and my intent definitely isn't to say 'if you say male you should be willing to draw males with all types of genitals', I don't want to dictate what people draw, I just want clearer information on if a YCH is right for my character. At this point i look at YCH's and just resign myself to not bothering because I dont want to go through asking 'hey is my trans guy character who has a vagina ok for this?' and risk the rejection for not being the kind of male they had in mind.

I brought this up on twitter and a few people said they hadn't thought of that before and will be changing what they write from now on which was good! I just hope maybe some more of us can take a few seconds longer when writing out YCH info to write what parts they'll draw for it instead of just saying 'male here' or 'female here' (cause the list of parts is a far shorter list than the minefield of writing what genders since gender doesn't specify parts.)

So if you follow me on twitter you may be aware of issues that came up at the start of March regarding InkedFur and the Knotty Boys book I organised. You can find full information about the situation around that on my twitter. If you want to discuss anything to do with this, please contact me via twitter.

But long story short, There were issues around InkedFur not paying royalties, reprinting the book without permission when it was a limited run project and they knew that from the start, refusal so share sales figures with the artists or even with me, repeatedly trying to shift blame onto me for their mistakes, and constantly ignoring artists emails and questions (as of now they're doing nothing but sending copy pasted replies to all artists involved when they email about the issues with Knotty Boys.) It also took them over a month of repeated asking for them to remove my personal store from the site. I am still having issues with getting them to remove me from their list of staff on their FA page.

Due to this and a few other personal issues, I left InkedFur as staff and as a creator at the start of March. I no longer have association or contact with any current staff of InkedFur except from official emails.

Because I could not afford to buy my left over physical stock from InkedFur, per the creator agreement, they have the right to sell my left over stock at a lower price and give no royalties from that to me.

So if you see my stock at cons on InkedFur tables, I wont say 'don't buy it', but it should be cheaper than the stock of artists still with InkedFur, because they were meant to have reduced the price to account for the fact they don't have to pay me royalties. If you see them selling my stuff for the same price as other artists, please tell me.

If you see one of my art posts with a link to inked fur on it, a comment on that post pointing it out would be appreciated as I struggle to go back through my posted stuff and bulk edit.

I'm currently working on an alternative for selling my psychical content. I'd do it from home but I struggle with distribution and logistics on my own. (No need for suggestions on this! pretty sure I know where I'm going lol)

Before you ask 'why didn't you leave sooner' or 'didn't you know about the problems around this company,' ect, a lot of that is explained on my twitter but can't speak about specifics to that on FA.

Hey y'all it's Trans Day Of Visibility and I'm Ollie/Kei, a British trans man (he/him), freelance artist, sometimes writer, and cat dad to a very smort babby gal cat called Nimue!

As a related note, I've been gradually getting more comfortable with putting my fursona, Kei, into sexual/due situations where his transness is clear.
