and yes i'm aware their head needs moved some to fit on the neck.
I'm hopeful for this turning out decently. I just can't do lines worth a shit this week.
Including updates with time stamps. Granted I'm REALLY distracted usually. If I could manage to not be distracted I'd probably art really frickin' fast.

Posted 12 years agoHeya! SO I'm looking to get some portraits/icons done for a few of my characters. Seeing as I always end up hating my own art after a while and I'm bad at icon art in my own opinion, that means I look elsewhere!
Who I'm looking for ports for, in order of how badly I want one done:
*HELBARGH!
*Tachs! - I ADORE their current port, but I need one to match the new design for her - also a human port for her too. Click the 'alternate' page (under main) to see what I mean by that.
*Dekra
*and Iliya, though I might be fiddling with his design some more.
How will I pay?
I have a few methods.
*Cash monies - Currently I am an enabler for a dear friend of mine for art, so I can possibly pay real cash monies via paypal. This is the least preferred method, so read on if you will. If none of the others interest you, and I want your art, obviously this will be the method.
*Art trade - I generally adore doing these. Hit me up! We'll discuss. Would also be very willing to do art trades for stuff other than portraits/icons, if you happen to be interested in that. <3 My art can be found here and here.
*Port spaces - Furcadia port spaces. Have PLENTY of these!
Anything you should know?
*I do not want anime or manga style. If you had roots there once but have moved away - we cool. But desu eyes, check mark noses, and undefined facial shapes are definitely not for me.
*Continuing the above: I LOVE LOVE LOVE people who adore drawing noses. I have plenty of odd noses for you to draw!
*Aside from the anime thing, I'm usually pretty willing to check out different styles and people. I just request you have something similar to show me that you can do. I'm a bit wary of commissioning someone for a rodent artz who has only has canine and feline examples. (Also, art for Tachs needs to definitely not be flatface.)

Charging by the hour VS Flat rates - Also, other stuff
Posted 12 years agoWhy would I charge by the hour for art, instead of setting a flat rate?
Probably because some pieces end up taking longer than others due to things such as complexity of clothing or pose, or extra body parts to try and fit in there (wings, etc).
It's simply much easier to charge by the time it takes me, instead of trying to estimate additional fees due to X, Y, and Z.
Frankly? Yes, I could charge a set price for a bust, full, portrait, etc - and thus probably make a decent profit margin on the easier/quicker commissions - and screw myself on the harder ones, thus making it not worth my time (or I could add fees to these commissions and piss off commissioners). But that's not something I feel like dealing with.
When almost all of my traditional sketches take barely 15 minutes, $25/h is a very fair price - since most people'd only be paying, what, less than seven dollars for a sketch? It's funny that people don't realize that and choose to rail against me or try and tear me down.
I really don't understand why we're so against each other getting what's worth our time.

On more of a personal-success note, my digital art is finally speeding up some and no longer making me want to stab things as much.
Quite happy to note that design work on an RP in-character group is coming along smoothly and might be doing two small 'community' pictures for them. Hoping to see some other people participate in it - more PCs would be fun. Who wants to play with only NPCs? Anyone who RPs on furc and enjoys High Fantasy/Low Tech medieval RP is free to message for info :V This IC group is mainly for RP in Rayneth but can definitely be found elsewhere - they roam!

I AM accepting commissions: My price is $25 an hour. Most traditional work takes me an hour, most digital work takes me 4-5 hours, depending on the amount of edits you request.
I am NOT accepting requests.
Art trades are on a case by case basis, so feel free to ask.
