PROVINCETOWN CARNIVAL PARADE 2016
Posted 9 years agoHey everyone its that time of year again in August where us furs both gay and straight get our gay on and show it off with pride!
The Parade is Thursday August 18th, 2016. It is a Thursday
Please be there no later that 12PM noon
WE ASK THAT THE PARADE BE A FURSUITER ONLY EVENT. WE WILL ASK IF ONE OR TWO FOLKS WITH CAMERAS WANTS TO JOIN THAT IS ALRIGHT. THE BONFIRE AFTERWARDS IS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. WALKING IN THE PARADE IS FURSUITERS ONLY, JUST LIKE LAST YEARS FASHION
Parking can be found at the JEROME SMITH Parking lot Just off of SHANK PAINTER ROAD
WE WILL ALL BE MEETING AT THIS PARKING LOT AT 12PM NO LATER AND THEN SHUTTLING OVER TO THE PARADE STARTING LINE
THIS IS A LONG HOT EVENT. WE WILL HAVE WATER BUT PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. WATER DONATIONS ARE ALSO VERY MUCH APPRECIATED
At the end of the parade we welcome you to clean up and meet us at the beach for a bonfire. (Location to be determined)
FOR THE PAST TWO YEAR THIS HAS BEEN A NO COST TO YOU EVENT HOSTED BY MASSFURBOWL. ALL WATER AND ADMINISTRATIVE FEES WERE COVERED BY FUSE AND NEXUS. WE DO ASK THIS YEAR THAT ATTENDING MEMBERS PITCH IN SOME MONEY TO HELP COVER FEES, GAS, AND FOOD FOR THE BONFIRE AFTER. PLEASE SEND DONATIONS TO PAYPAL LONEWOLF800@GMAIL.COM

The reason for this change is we had alot of unnecessary confusion at the last bowl and many people who left early forgot to pay. Thank You!

CHANGE IN CHECK IN PRECEEDURES PLEASE READ

So Mass Furbowl has been running for close to five years now thanks to the hard work of both 
and 
. In these 5 years we have had very little issue with the honor system working for attendees paying Furbowl staff members.
Unfortunately, our last bowl we found ourselves very short on our bill. Thankfully furbowl staff and a few very generous attendees pitched in to pay the remaining balance.
Due to this we have made changes to our sign in preceedures and they are as follows:
1. Upon arrival attendees must locate a Furbowl staff member to sign in. These staff members are berettafusion and nexusfolf. If you cannot locate a staff member ask a alley staff member.
2. Upon locating a Furbowl staff memeber please sign in on the supplied tablet filling out all required fields. These fields include your full legal name (first and last), Fur Name, Bowling Y/N, Fursuiting Y/N, Contact Info (optional), and finally a staff member will mark you as paid or not.
3. Pay a Furbowl staff member. $10 if your bowling and $5 for attending. Cash is the preferred method but credit can be used by seeing an alley staff member
4. Go out and have fun!A few final notes: MFB collects this info on its attendees to protect itself legally. MFB does not sell or share your information (name, contact info etc) with any third party entities. In the case of legal action against an attendee whether by the alley, other MFB attendees or alley patrons, MFB is required by law and by our choice to release your information to the proper authorities.

This bowl will also be our holiday bowl! What's that mean? Contests and candy canes and prizes! We will be hosting a costume contest to see who is the most festive of our bowl goers! There will be an in suit and out of suit division so everyone can participate! Please dress up in your favorite holiday/winter swag! Come as santa, and elf, a snowman, the grinch, a dreidel, whatever! Thanksgiving costumes welcome too! The winner of each division will win an awesome gift bag of knick knacks, candy, giftcards and other swag!
We're also looking for any little gift donations anyone would like to make to the two baskets, so shoot us a note if you'd like to help!

PET APPRECIATION WEEKEND PROVINCETOWN RECAP
Posted 10 years agoThat was AMAZING!
Provincetown Pet Appreciation Weekend was a huge success. Our attendees braved the heat and crowds and with 2 hours of suiting raised enough money to give the animal shelter the surprise of their summer.
We would like to thank all the wonderful suiters and handlers who came out to make this weekend possible. Without you none of this could have happened. In total we had 9 suiters and 2 handlers.
This weekend was phenomenal. And without further delay:
On the first day of suiting; Saturday, we raised a total of $394
During the Pet Parade we raised a total of $386.75
This bring this weekends total to: $780.75
In closing we cannot wait to do this event again. Being that CASAS is an amazing place, one of few No Kill No Cage shelters, we very well may host a few weekend events like this!
Thank You all again who came and donated their time and energy to this weekend

Pet Appreciation week is coming up, And here's the plan.
On Saturday we will have a fursuit walk/bucket brigade. Please meet us at the Boatslip Resort on Commercial Street at 12:45. We should be fursuiting for a bit so remember please bring water and if you have a camelbak bring that as well.
Afterward its up to you. Provincetown offers a wide variety of entertainment from shows to clubs. All the clubs in town are 21+ and all of them check ID. Most are free while some have a $10 cover.
On Sunday we have the Pet Parade!
Please join us no later the 130pm at the Saint Mary of The Harbor Church parking lot to suit up. The parade starts at 2pm sharp and lasts about an hour. Afterward is an optional meet at the end with CASAS where the amount raised will be announced. There will be some food and drinks there. After that it's all up to you!

Hotels:
We hope you have booked a room by now but if not Provincetown has a wide variety of hotels from Harbor Hotel, Boat slip Resort to hotels in Truro. MFB and ANE do not have a room block for this event so booking is up to you.
Now for a little reminder. This is a public event. Please be on your best behavior. If you are suiting (partial of full) please make sure you are covered. This means no skin showing. If you are fursuiting please no undies or fettish gear on your fursuit. This is a very public event for a charitable cause to remember that for this weekend you are not only representing the charity (CASAS) but the fandom. MFB and ANE staff members Fuse and Nexus reserve the right to decide what is appropriate attire and ask you to change your clothing or remove certain items/accessories from your person.
We can't wait to see you all!

MASS FURBOWL RULES Amended 11/26/15 PLEASE READ
Posted 10 years agoSo you want to come to a furmeet? Awesome! We ask that everyone who attends Mass Fur Bowl meets follow these rules, for the enjoyment of all who attend:
Please RSVP if the meet you are attending asks you to do so. It saves us all a lot of trouble and stress if we know how many people we can expect to show up! GENERAL RULES All Attendees MUST be on their best behavior. This is not a request. This means that all furries who attend must keep it PG Rated for everyone who attends. This also means not swearing and nothing of a sexual nature. People who are caught in violation will be spoken to and possibly asked to leave the property by one of the MassFurBowl Staff. These Staff Members are

berettafusion We ask that if you see a violation of this new code of conduct that you report it immediately to one of the above listed staff members and DO NOT take it upon yourself to deal with the issue.

Public Behavior:
While at a furmeet you are expected to remain and act in a civil manner. Rough-housing, overly affectionate public displays of affection, obscene swearing, or loud destructive behavior are restricted. Harassment, stalking, or unwanted contact will be met with a "one-strike" or zero-tolerance policy, "No" means "No" always. Please be courteous to other attendees, vendor staff, and non-furmeet guests at all times. If there are any more issues contact one of the present Furbowl organizers either
: and they will handle it properly Also remember that we are in a public setting. These events are family friendly affairs and oftentimes this is people's first exposure to furry at large. Remember that we need to present "those people who dress up like animals" in as positive a light as possible. We're the ambassadors of the furry fandom for the people we encounter.
Hygiene:
It is assumed that you will possess a good sense of hygiene while at the Mass Fur Bowl furmeets. If you are bearing a noticeable offensive odor, you will be asked to rectify it or possibly be removed from the event. It is encouraged that attendees take a shower before coming to meets. Fursuiters will be given lee-way when it comes to this rule after de-suiting.
Alcohol:
Alcoholic consumption should be kept within moderation and may only be consumed by adults over 21. Buying alcohol for minors is strictly forbidden by Mass Fur Bowl rules and Massachusetts State Law. If you are found out to be supplying alcohol to a minor we will be obligated to contact the police. If you are approached by a minor to acquire alcohol for them then say "No" and report it to one of the Furbowl Organizers.
If someone becomes too intoxicated they will be asked to leave the event prematurely and be issued a warning.
There will be NO tolerance of outside alcohol. The bowling alley serves beer, wine, mixed drinks and other alcoholic beverages. Absolutely no alcohol is permitted in the headless lounge. If we catch you drinking outside alcohol or drinking in your car or parking lot we will ask you to leave the bowl and issue you a warning.
Firearms/Weapons:
Firearms of any sort are restricted from all Mass Fur Bowl events. If you are seen with any type of Firearm you will be asked to remove it from the premises of the event immediately and possibly be asked to leave the meet prematurely. If it is found out you are concealing a Firearm you will be restricted from the future Mass Fur Bowl furmeets. There is no need for those things at a bowling alley.
(Amended 11/26/15) If you are a LTC holder and attend our event with a firearm you must store in your vehicle in compliance with state and local laws. If you enter the building with the firearm you are subject to above. The only exception to this rule in accordance with state law is for law enforcement officers. If you are a LEO and are carrying, please contact a furbowl staff member prior to or at the event. You will be required to present your state ID and FID.
Dress Code:
Harnesses(For fursuiters only), tails, ears, collars, and other furry accessories are allowed at all meets, unless otherwise specified. The only exception to this are leashes which will be asked to be removed if seen. Also, no fetish, BDSM, or extremely revealing clothing will be permitted at the Mass Fur Bowl meets and if you have such gear or clothing on you will be asked to remove it and change to something that fits within Mass Fur Bowl rules.
Respect of Property:
During meets please respect the property of the vendors we attend. This means no climbing on, damaging, etc of the equipment of the vendors.
It is expected you not litter at the vendors and clean up after yourselves during and after the event.
If an attendee does damage vendor property they will be held responsible for cost of repairs and any applicable fines. Mass Furbowl will not take any responsibility for damaged, lost, or stolen property, whether it be personal property or the property of the Vendor we attend
(Amended 11/26/15) Should you damage or destroy property belonging to the vendor, Mass Furbowl is obligated to release information on you to the vendor. Local authorities may be called if needed or if damage exceeds $500. In the event of lost or stolen items. Please contact a member of Mass Furbowl immediately. Mass Furbowl does posses a lost and found. If you are missing an item please contact
Minors and Parental Consent:
In the case of minors above the age of 13, it will be assumed that any parents or legal gaurdians have granted permission for their attendance and the Mass Furbowl, The Mass Fur Bowl, and the current vendor will not assume responsibility for their actions or conduct. (Amended 11/26/15) Minors above the age of 13 will be treated as adults and held to the same standards and rules as any other attendee
Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at any Mass Fur Bowl furmeet.(Amended 11/26/15) Children under the age of 13 must check in with their parent or legal guardian and notify a staff member of their age. The parent or legal guardian must be made known to a furbowl staff member. Should a child disobey any of the above mentioned rules, both the child and the parent or legal guardian will be spoken to. The parent or legal guardian assumes responsibility for the minor and will be held responsible should damage occur.
HEADLESS LOUNGE RULES 1. FURSUITERS ONLY PLEASE. This is an area for suiters to change, rest, and cool down. This is NOT a hang out area.
2. Water and soda only inside the headless lounge. Absolutely NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES inside the headless lounge. Violation of this WILL result in instant removal from the event.
3. CONSERVE SPACE. We have a limited amount of space for out headless lounge. Please stack your totes/bags when you are done using them. Please do not leave them in the middle of the floor. Do not Block the bathroom or storage closet. Alley Staff need access to these rooms and it is not their responsibility to handle our belongings with care.

4. Please keep curtains closed at all times, before and after entering or exiting
FURSUIT HEAD DRYER RULES 1. Do NOT step on or lean against the Dryer
2. Be considerate of others. Limit your usage to 15 minutes at a time and then please remove your fursuit head.
3. Help stop the spread of germs. Wipe down the outlets using the supplied wipes before placing your head on the tree.

Please be there no later that 12PM noon
WE ASK THAT THE PARADE BE A FURSUITER ONLY EVENT. WE WILL ASK IF ONE OR TWO FOLKS WITH CAMERAS WANTS TO JOIN THAT IS ALRIGHT. THE BONFIRE AFTERWARDS IS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. WALKING IN THE PARADE IS FURSUITERS ONLY, JUST LIKE LAST YEARS FASHION
Parking can be found at the JEROME SMITH Parking lot Just off of SHANK PAINTER ROAD

PTown Carnival Parade
Join us Thursday, August 20th at the tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown, for our 3rd annual walk in the Carnival parade! The parade walk itself will be for fursutiers only. If you're not fursuiting we ask that you lineup to watch and enjoy the parade while we participate. The parade is very long and you'll be walking the whole thing so please only participate if you feel you have the stamina to keep up with it. We will have a car stocked with water that you can take breaks in but it will be very hot even with the breaks.
Afterwards we will get dinner and we invite folks to attend a bonfire on the beach with us that night. More details to come in a later journal.

Hey all! So MA Furbowl #35 was fantastic!
Our furbowl numbers were:
21 Fursuiters
61 Total Attendees
We had lots of old and new faces and it seemed like lots of new friendships were being formed, which is always awesome to watch. Also we know you guys love winning prizes in the arcade, but please refrain from blowing up the inflatables and bopping people with them, the alley and your furbowl staff think it unsafe and you will be spoken too.

Next off, we're taking a small break in May due to the RI Furbowl, Memorial Day weekend and some prior obligations Fusion and Nexus have.
We encourage you all to go check out the RI Furbowl and Dance Party. Nexus will be in attendance and bringing lots of fans, and if Fusion is able to go he will bring the head dryer.

Hey all! So MA Furbowl #34 was incredible as always!

The head dryer was back and yet another roaring success! Thank you all for obeying the rules and cleaning it with a lysol wipe after using it, we really appreciate it :)

Furbowl Recap, Head Dryer, Next Furbowl

Hey all! This journal is just going to serve as a quick reminder journal for things we discussed at the furbowl last night.
First off man that was an amazing furbowl! We had 55 attendees, 32 of them were fursuiters! Everyone behaved swimmingly, especially with the children's birthday party in the lanes next to us. Thanks for being a great group!

Next the Head Drying Tree that Fusion, Nexus and Strobes built was a huge success! This head tree will be coming to most furbowls, as well as Anthro New England. Thank you all for using it gently and using the lysol wipes to disinfect the pipe when you were done. Using the wipes is critical so we don't spread germs and share sweat, thanks!
We received $214 in donations last night for the head trees, which basically paid for an entire tree (each tree is $220). If you would still like to donate we'll be posting an official journal about that soon, and starting construction on the second head tree shortly.

I want to thank everyone also for being patient with the headless lounge. With so many suiters coming to the furbowl it is very tough to accommodate all the totes and still have changing room. We ask that non suiters please stay out of the headless lounge and please do not use the lounge to hang out. If you want to chat do so at the tables, over by the alley, or outside. The lounge is only for getting changed in and out of suit and taking a water break or catching your breath.
Also please be mindful of our space, we'll try to work out a new system for storing totes but please stack totes when possible and move your stuff on or under the table so there is still floor space for people to get changed. If you're done suiting for the night please move your tote back to your car to allow for more room.

The next furbowl will be January 31st. We realize that the RI Furbowl and Auburn Furbowl are on that day as well, but sadly that is the only day that will work as all the weekends in February are unavailable for Fusion and Nexus to run it, and we don't want it to close to Anthro New England so people can save up.
Speaking of Anthro New England pre-reg will be ending soon, as will hotel bookings so get that done and save money and yourself from a major headache if you don't
