I feel like the newest staff journal didn't advertise the feature super well, buuut yeah, you can make art from specific users get blurred now! Pretty useful if some don't tag their art properly (art one would prefer not to see for example) and it continues to pop up, can just make it not show up now.

Basically, just block that "u_username" meta keyword.

Now to hope there will be an option that doesn't just blur, but also fully hides blocked works x3


edit: To be clear, this isn't about blocking an user (as in stopping them from commenting etc), this is about a new meta keyword system that gives every single submission a user specific tag, for example all of mine now have "u_masterxvmon", and this new tag can now be blocked like any other tag. It doesn't stop said user from commenting or such, it just means that if you don't like someone's art, you can stop it from showing up.

Also uuuh kinda just been widgeting with gamedev sorta stuff (mostly fangames and other small personal projects) so my brain hasn't been too too into makin art

Yeeeah hey, I read "The Cruelest Miles" which tells pretty much everything about what happened in Nome back in 1925 when dipthteria hit the town. I kinda knew the baaasic gist already, of how the animated movie just changed alooot of the details, and how there were multiple dog sled teams (20 or so) taking the serum for those 670 or so miles. If you're interested in reading about alaska, Nome's gold rush, the natives, dogs, and how the whole epidemic went there, do read the book, buuut here's some stuff that was interesting to me, uuuh trigger warning tho:

-Back when sled dogs were used a whole bunch in Alaska, some reeeaaal wise people outside the place thought of dogs being too primitive and such and instead brought reindeer to replace em. What a twist they didn't work for travel at all, and atleast in one case the owner of a few reindeer just slaughtered em and sold the pelts and all that and bought a team of dogs.

-Leonhard Seppala and Togo are absolute beasts lmao, went such crazy distances for the relay in such a short time. They were initially supposed to run like 600 miles in total, half of it to go get the serum at mid-way point and then back home, buuut plans changed (while Seppala was already on the move) to get the serum to Nome faster with more drivers and teams, tho they still ran 261 miles in total. On the way back home Togo got too excited when spottin reindeer and ran after em and got lost, Seppala was ofcourse worried. Returned a few days later thankfully. Good boi. Btw watch Togo if you have Disney+, they change details here and there but it's certainly much faithful than Balto is.

-The first relay (one with the Balto) only got medicine for about 30 patients or so into the town, and with over 20 cases (and 6-8 deaths, possibly more, and tens of suspected cases) it was a bit yikes if they would even manage. Took two weeks or so to get more medicine via second relay, and even in that case not as much as originally planned since half of it was left for a plane to take it since there had been a bunch of campaigning to do so, but for a couple of days they just never got the planes started up and going and gave up, it was waaay too cold. Anyway yeah the first batch was enough to contain the spreading. There were more diptheria cases after the main epidemic too, for like a year or two, but thanks to actually having medicine by then they managed to keep it all in check and there was no need for quarantine like previously

-Second relay? Yeah there was a second relay to get more serum to Nome. It's not as well documented, and hard to find more info about. Appearently many of the same mushers took part in it, but I dunno if there's a proper list to show if Kaasen or Seppala took part in it, reporters etc stopped documenting stuff in as much detail after Nome was already "saved" once the first batch had arrived

-Gunnar Kaasen who finished with Balto did a couple of uh, let's say big oopsises. First of all he didn't take a dog named Fox as his lead dog like Seppala had instructed, and instead took Balto. Next, when heading back towards Nome with the serum, he was supposed to stop at a small village on the way but accidentally mushed past in the dark, and decided to just keep going - he was suppooosed to get a message of "stay here and rest until the storm passes" at the place. He reached the next place then where Ed Rohn was supposed to take the serum and bring it home, buuut Ed haaad received the message and was sleeping with his dogs (it was 3 am). Sooo Kaasen again just drove past the place, and made it to Nome at like 5:30 am. People were mad at Kaasen for hogging the glory, many thinkin he did what he did fully on purpose. Tho Kaasen was pretty introverted and such soooo he prolly didn't enjoy being in the spotlight so much lol. Seppala was also angry, for example at Balto (and not Togo) getting a statue.

-Kaasen and Balto (and the rest of the team) were taken out to tour the US after the relay, Kaasen appearently asked Seppala for permission, tho that was appearently one of the last times the two spoke in friendly terms. When Kaasen was about to return to Alaska he sold Balto and the gang to have money to get back. Seppala toured the US then too, and people loooved him haha, Seppala was a fun fella appearently. Wild Bill Shannon who was the first musher in the first relay also checked the US, and he ended up not caring about the spotlight. "This hero business is big blah."

-Atleast six dogs died in the first relay, all from how extremely cold it was. Four from one team, two leads of another. The finishing lead dog of the second relay (with the musher now being Ed Rohn) was called Star, but even he was injured and had to be on the sled. The book didn't tell if he managed after. I myself am curious of the dog in the animated movie is named after this one, or if it's just a coincidence.

-Wolfdogs appearently don't make good sled dogs. Wolfs aren't stronger at pulling sleds and are territorial and stubborn, and they don't listen to commands well. Sooo wolfdogs just uh yeah, are not good for sleds. Plus appearently crossbreeding doesn't really amplify their good sides by making a "stronger" dog, it just makes a big wolf-ish dog that haaates being tied with harness and straps to other dogs haha. The note about this was funny to read with the animated movie in mind. Wild Bill's dog poooossibly was a 1/4th wolfdog, probably not.

-The final official mail route via sled dogs was in 1963. The last surviving relay musher died in 1999.

-To this day it's difficult to get to Nome, there's no roads or trains. Can take a ship, or fly if the weather allows. I'd like to visit the place.

-uh not history, but damn did the book make me cry multiple times xd any stories about anything sad happening to the dogs and I just tear up. Tho some of the parts about how children suffered from the illness also got to me

Damn, that hurts. I only ever exhanged a few messages with him back and forth when commenting on stuff, but he was a swell guy, and more importantly we wouldn't be here on Furaffinity without him.

Atleast he won't need to suffer or deal with US healthcare bullshit anymore. Rest in peace man.

Yeeeah we're back at it again, again I'm trying to report stolen art (not from me) and once again it's just going nowhere with the staff. So much for the staff trying to enforce the "you aren't allowed to upload stuff that isn't by you or for you, or you otherwise have permission to post" rule. It seems to be free game as long as the original artist doesn't catch you, even if it's veeery obvious to everyone else. Guess we could all just upload Mona Lisa no problem, for example. Just make sure to give a source to the original and it's aaall good, it's not like whoever owns the rights will be reporting about it!

Trieeed to note Dragoneer to just deal with it before I found out they aren't doing too hot (all the best to him, hoping he recovers soon), I know he would've dealt with this without any useless slowdowns.

Sooo because I'm petty and wanna show how dumb this system is, I'll prolly make an account at some point where I just post art that won't ever be reported by the original artists. Gonna find some non-english speaking artists that would struggle to report properly, or possibly artists that are minor who don't know how to fill a DMCA report, or possibly dead artists. Also gonna make sure to link to the originals, that way I won't be breaking the rule 2.5 about citing sources lmao - this way the ooonly thing that is wrong is the permission thing, and that can only be solved/reported by the original artists or rights holders.

Some artists I've contacted about the stolen art just said "I don't mind", sooo uh, yeah, the art in question ofcourse stays up in that case, whiich means that the "not for you, not by you, not having permission" rule is just useless in such cases. FA might wanna add a "but if they don't care to report, it's fine" bit in there.

Staff previously asked for me to show proof that the user here didn't have the permission to post art, and then removed said art once I asked the original artist (who is not on FA) and showed the response. However, the second time they said "that's not enough, the original artist needs to be the one to report" which I get, but ofcourse I was baffled by why I was even asked first time then, when what I was reporting was the same thing in both cases. When I asked about why I was asked the show proof the first time they avoided the question or purposefully misunderstood it, but then I got a "we can't discuss actions we have taken for other users" response lmao lol ok. Seems like the first decision was a mistake then, nice and inconsistent.

Heyyy, I haven't seen anyone do a tutorial for this before, sooo I put one together. This is for MMD/MikuMikuDance and for making the default shadows darker relatively easily, and this also works with some effects and such too. I pretty much always do this with my models, works with what I do for the cel shaded look as well. Doesn't work with Raycast, but that's a whole different beast so makes sense it wouldn't.

To anyone who has asked to chat with me or I've asked if I could chat with, but the conversation hasn't really kept up, sorry. I've kinda always struggled with making new friends and staying in touch. Aaabsolutely an introvert and I kinda tire out socially veeery easily. I don't really drop chats thinking "I don't wanna talk with them anymore", it's more of a "I get worn out too easily and worry for my social powers" kind of a thing.

I really noticed this when not too long ago I wanted to ask a couple of guys about getting a commission. Had a chance, a slot was free, but after like an hour of contemplating I couldn't bring myself to shoot a message, kinda not wanting to do the whole social aspect of it all. Like uh yeah, would've loved the get some art, but yeeeah. The same with some Discord groups I've said I'm interested to join or I've been invited to, I've just been an introverted mess and not joining after all, sorry.

I don't have this problem all the time, and speaking with people I'm already familiar with is easier, and I like smalltalk IRL and talk to cashiers when doing groceries and stuff like that, but yeaaah. Uh, if there's been a long break since we last talked you're always welcome to message me again, I sometimes might not respond right away but I appreciate it regardless, thank you. I do still need my small share of being social, it's just prolly a much smaller amount than for most, and often old friends I've known for like 10+ years fill that need.

Anyway, what I mainly meant to say here is that this stuff can be difficult for me, and that I've been noticing it kiiinda getting worse. Would like to get to know more people and get more friends, but it's tough. I had a bit of a social burnout maybe a year or two ago when I tried to get to know with too many new people at once and yeah oof, I had a month or two when I just didn't really wanna open Discord or Telegram or anything.

On another note, seeing "regulars" in the comments or faving stuff whenever I upload stuff here makes me happy. I don't think I really have a close friend group here on FA like I some people listing friends on their profile, but yeah seeing the same names pop up in my notifications is nice x3 thanks

Honestly I don't really read enough, buuuut since my feelings towards Balto 3 are relatively ehhhh I gave a fanfic retelling of the events a shot. No Stella, Steele is back, Kaltag and his gang is there too. Steele is his usual asshole self and very much the villain, the race against the plane still taking place but with things going way different with Balto not joining in the race. A few typos here and there like I think my fanfics also have lmao, but yeah a veeery good read, a bit less than an hour long I think x3

Finished it 100% just a lil while ago! Overall I reeaaally liked it, was veeery hooked on it for the three days it took me to beat it x3 a few things here and there could definitely be improved, some smaller things possibly by a patch or two (though it's Sonic Team we're talking about, I doubt it), ooor overall in a next game with the same format which I hoooope is happening, I really want more.

Hell yes to these:
-All the bosses, goddamn!
-Combat overall
-Movement, and boosting with max rings
-Ian Flynn's love for Sonic
-It's amazing how quickly cyberspace retry (from pause) works

And fuck these in particular:
-1-2 S-rank (wtf)
-Island 1 laser puzzle thing
-Much of the third island, I was confuse for a long while
-Leveling up speed and rings

Also story egh moments, spoilers:
-Island 4 was neat, how it wrapped up was underwhelming though ;___; power of friendship, pals disappear somewhere and Sonic doesn't even care or worry or ask about them, and then Sonic teleports to a new island, alrighty then
-Wtf was the threat actually anyway? A giant space ball? Game pls explain better
-I wish the final battle was mooore epic (and yes, I did do it on Hard). I seem to have this "the final battle wasn't epic enough" problem with many things haha, pls hire me to improve em

A bunch of jank especially with the momentum, a few odd moments heeere and there, but overall a very good time, combat and bosses are super fun. Yeah the game gets like a 7.5/10 from me which is kinda the avarage going around haha, definitely more towards 8 for me than 7.

Something I like to do maaaybe once a year or so, is go through all the accounts I watch here and yeah, unwatch users who have left FA or stopped drawing/uploading otherwise, leaving in pals or other interesting accounts tho. This time I did a much more thorough "purge" than I have previously haha, tho not opening every single page I think I missed a few I could've unwatched. Anyway:

Heeey so yeah, I started uploading chapters of my Starwolf + Starfox + Incineroar fanfic thing x3

I actually wrote the whole story frame for it during the first 7 days or so of this year, I had the idea suddenly pop into my head during new year's celebrations aaand yeah, kinda just wrote stuff down nonstop for those 7 days. Didn't complete the veeery last few days of the story, still haven't lmao (got the general idea for them tho and for the ending), but yeah I had almost 40k words written, just for the framework x3

I've wanted to get going with the fanfic properly for the longest time, buuut yeah, knowing how long it would be I haven't started up at all until now, aaaand even now I'm not sure if I'll get the story finished really x3 Still, I kinda just... wanted to get going, instead of worrying about everything from my motivation to if the story makes enough sense

I have the story planned for 40 days or so, so uh yeah, will be alot. At the writing of this journal I have the proooper finished stuff done until Chapter 3, the end of day 1. Sooome chapters will only be about a single day, some will have multiple days included since some of the days will only be a paragraph or two. The longest chapters will be the sex ones lmao, what a twist a guy doing lewd RPs wants to write alot about sexxxx in his fanfics x3

Anyway, I still don't think I'm really the best writer, I know there's a bunch of typos too haha, buuut yeah I hope you readers will like it all regardless. Doing my best proofreading, thooough I'm not using a spellchecker or anything since that would just make me upset, and would make me take foreeever getting anything done haha

It's out and it's goooood, I'm digging the game so far. Not the smoothest FPS during battles and some of the menus on Switch but oh well, won't stop meee. Gonna start Part (chapter?) 4 properly tomorrow and yeeah geez, some screwed up stuff happened already, leading to the main character doubting his actions and having nightmares and yeah damn, me too as a player am wondering if these same things happen to every player, or if it was one of many outcomes

My Agumon evolved to Tyrannomon btw, think the champion form depends on how the player did with the harmony wrath whatever system until that point?

Aaaand basically yeah, I need some help with sizing and stuff. My hand size is like 19-20cm (checked how to measure), but yeah since the gloves will be for a fursuit a chonky size would be nice, smaller gloves tend to look a bit silly in comparison with a big fursuit head. Anyway yeah I'm finding adult gloves go from 10oz to 20oz, aaany thoughts or ideas what I should go for? Something that I can take off reeelatively easily would be good too if possible, tho I'm thinkin of getting some sorta grappler gloves too, for when I need to use my my fingers when suiting.

And nah I'm not thinking of doing aaactual boxing, they are definitely for fursuit/cosplay purposes

Mostly just been chilling at home like usual for my bdays, I don't drink and I'm not much of a partyperson but heyyy. Been eating snaccccs and just watched Red, it was pretty alright! The characters annoyed me a great deal around the start buuut yeeeah I cried towards the end.

And yeah had mom and siblings over for a bit and yeah, been a good day!

No plans to change anything really now that I'm 30 lol, still dig furry characters and Sonic games (Sonic Frontiers, I swear to god if the final version of you is as janky as you look right now...) and memes and whatever!

So yeah hey, any wrestling roleplayers around? Figured I'd look and ask around here, been recently having trouble finding good partners for that stuff on F-list, and the players I dig doing with it have been busier IRL and unable to play.

I suppose I'm a bit picky with this stuff sooo here's what I'm lookin for:
-Wreeestling, tho generally not show wrestling, I'm not too good at that stuff. Intercourse shouldn't be a requirement
-ERP, hopefully not a surprice x3
-Buff masculine characters, anthro or feral, maybe even rookie level digis. I like discussing characters we could play as instead of being all "I wanna play as this guy and that's final"
-Semiparagraph to paragraph long posts (I lose interest with short messages)
-Detailed wrestling/RPing, not just "does a full nelson" but descriptions on how it's all happening, how characters are positioned, etc
-5-10mins between messages, via F-chat or Discord or something
-2-6 hour RPs, done in one sitting if possible. Wrestling can take it's sweet time
-Bonus points for chokeholds, passing out can work as an end to an RP but I don't like going that far otherwise
-Other fighting moves like punching etc also work, especially with more beastly characters!
-No blood, or bones breaking or anythin like that

Alternatively, also up for writing some sorta wrestling story thing one segment at a time! Kinda like RPing, buuut we'd be writing it more like a story, and even controlling each other's characters at times x3 Could have longer messages with this sorta writing style, but still I'd prefer writing it together in realtime or such, not like... a paragraph a day or something. That would be too slow, I'd unfortunately lose interest.
