My art may be a bit slow for a little while since my laptop had a few problems with the whole starting up thing :P
Managed to get a new better laptop though for a suprisingly cheap price, the only problems though are that my regular scanner and graphics tablet don't seem to be very compatable with the new Windows 7 operating system and won't install properly. Hopefully i'll be able to get info for the graphics tablet from the makers help service, if not i'll just have to go out and get a newer model, no real problem there since the local shops around here sell the things for quite a cheap price. I should still be able to scan things using the scanner which is combined with my printer. Things will just be a little slow until i get everything installed properly.
This could give me the oportunity to try working on things a different way, such as colouring with actual pencils instead of a digital method. ^^

Also I'd like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season. :)

Unfortunately this journal isn't going to be a very happy one, earlier today I learned that my grandma had passed away. last Thursday she was rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke, her health just kept getting worse over the weekend until her last moments this morning.

She was a kind hearted, sweet old woman, who often tried to make other people happy in any way she could, she was the sort of grandma that you could always be happy around. It was just unfortunate that in her later years she suffered from Alzheimer's which caused her health to rapidly go downhill.
It is comforting though to know that my mom and uncle were able to be with her, and try to make her as happy as possible in her final hours.

It's difficult to know just what to say after losing a family member who has been so close for so many years, but for now I guess I'll just stay with this thought, "thank you for being such a wonderful grandma, I'll never forget you."

Finally after a long time of waiting one of my favorite games of all time was released on the european playstation store, Final Fantasy VII. Obviously I rushed to get it as soon as I could, barely hours after it was uploaded.
People have been eagerly waiting for this game to be released for a long time, and the wait was definitely worth it. After just playing for a few minutes it brought back all the good memories I had of playing it with my friends back when it was first released. Even though I'm obviously a big fan of the game I still can't help thinking that it's just as much fun to play now as it was back then, plus since it's compatable with the PSP I can now play it anywhere anytime i want. ^^

Now, time to lose myself in the game once again. :)

Well, it took quite a long time but today I was finally offered a job. :D
In my previous journals I mentioned that I was put on a temporary work placement by the jobcentre to gain experience until i'm able to find a proper job. Luckily the managers thought i was doing a great job so today they offered me a full time position. Yeah it's only working as a sales assistant at a local store but it's a start and better than nothing right? ^^
With any luck the official start date should be around April 13th.

One thing about the full time position though which is cool and really surprised me was that i'll be working less hours than i do now, i'll have more days off, yet i'll still be earning more than i am at the minute. XD


But that's enough about me, i hope everything is going well for you guys too. :)

wow i just noticed that it has been ages since my last journal update, should probably update this thing more often. XD

Anyway, following on from my last journal where I was starting a work placement at a local store, it has all been going really well there, it's a great place to work and I have been enjoying pretty much every day of it, apparently i've been making a good impression there too, the managers have been talking about how my section is one of the best in the store since i started taking care of it, and they're trying to give me a full time job there as soon as a place becomes available. Because of this my work placement has been extended for another 3 months in the hopes that a place will become available in that time.

In my spare time i've mainly been keeping busy with the Star Ocean game series on the psp, man they have some good plotlines.
As well as that i've been working on a retail NVQ course set by my local college and have been doing a bit of drawing whenever I get the chance, though as soon as the NVQ is completed I'll have a lot more time for drawing and stuff. :P
I've also been thinking of a few more things to do in flash but it may take a bit of time before i get around to that stuff.

Before I bring this journal entry to a close I'll just say another thank you to anyone who has watched/commented/faved my stuff since the last journal. I'll try to update these things a bit more often from now on. :P

So how has everyone out there been doing lately? :)

It has been a while since my last journal entry so it's about time I updated it with something new. ^^

From tomorrow I will be starting a 6 month work placement at a local shop, it isn't a real job and it pays very little, it's mainly something that the jobcentre has started me on as a way to gain some more experience which will hopefully help me to get a real job. I'll be working in the back of the store doing a lot of admin work but will probably help out with stock control too. Working there will definitely be worth it though since it will get me used to being in a work environment and increase my chances of getting a full time job in the future.

Also I know I haven't uploaded any art in a while but there will be some coming soon, there are a few pieces that are ready to be uploaded. Plus I came up with a few more picture ideas today so i'll have to start working on those soon too. :)

As usual i'll use a part of this journal to thank every one who has taken the time to comment, view, and fave my work, I really appreciate it.

And one more thing,  dragonien is the best dragon ever! :)

There has been a few people who asked me if I was going to continue that growth comic I started a while ago, even though I've been a bit lazy/busy lately I will continue it, there should be some more pages uploaded shortly for people to enjoy.

On another note, the number of people watching my page has risen above 300, I now have over 1000 faves, and am getting close to 8000 pageviews. Yay!

Thanks again to everyone who has watched my page and faved/commented on my pictures.

The next part of my growth comic may take a little more time for me to get out, I have several picture requests that i need to complete first, the next part of the comic should hopefully be up sometime in the next two weeks.

On a different note, my pageviews went above 5000 and my faves went over 500. So thank you everyone for taking an interest in my page, I hope you all continue to enjoy my art. :)

Today my page reached 200 watches, thank you all for taking the time to look at my pics, fave them, and comment. I hope you have enjoyed my art and I will try my best to make my future pictures just as enjoyable.

Over time there have been people who helped me out with my art, whether they gave me tips on how to improve or pointed out errors in my pics they have all helped me in some way or another. Because of this I thought I would take a moment to write a journal to thank each of them.
I apologise if somone has helped me improve and I haven't mentioned them.

 Sasuke79 has helped me out before when I posted my last journal, he gave me a few good hints and tips on how to draw characters. Thanks ^^

 Dragoneer in my last journal gave me a good tip on how to draw a more realistic looking figure by rapidly drawing it until i get used to it and it seems natural, that way I will improve the more I draw it. Thanks ^^

 twitch_the_dragon gave me a few opinions and tips on things in a couple of my pics in the past which I can improve at. Thanks ^^

 jkross told me about letting my style improve naturally as my skills develop. Thanks ^^

 dragonien has probably helped me the most, he requested a few pics from me in the past which helped me get a little bit better with each one, his requests gave me a nice way to draw different types of characters. As well as this he has given me advice on things that I can improve on and how they can be improved. Thanks ^^

Like a lot of artists out there I sometimes try to improve the way I draw, I have noticed a gradual improvement over time but think that there is still more that I could be doing to get better. There are some people who have given me a few tips and shown me where I have been going wrong which I am really grateful for.
I'm just wondering though if anyone has any tips on ways to improve such as how to draw a more realistic body shape, colouring/shading tips, etc.

Here's something that I heard a while ago that I thought would be interesting to share. I wonder if anyone will have an actual answer to it. ^^

Three people eat at a resteraunt and the bill comes to $30
Each person pays $10 each
After the waiter has taken the money he double checks the figures and realises that he's accidentally over charged them by $5
He thinks to himself that they don't know how much they've been overcharged by so he keeps $2 for himself and gives each person $1 back. This means that each person would have only payed $9 each.

Now for the math, the three people payed $9 each making a total of $27, the waiter kept $2 for himself.

$27 + $2 = $29

Where did the other $1 go?

This is a question that i've always had fun with when I hear it. There isn't really an answer, it's just something to make you think "WTF?"

Seems like it has been a while sinse I've posted a journal entry so here goes.

I usually update my gallery and journals once a month but have decided to change that now, from now on I'll update it like most other people which is whenever I feel like it, it'll be a lot easier that way.

It's the start of another month so I thought I'd add another update to my journal, so here we go.

I have noticed that most of my days seem to be really repetitive now, I seem to do the same things all the time and should really go and liven things up a bit. Things will definately be changing for me soon though because I got some good news today, I was able to get a temporary job placement for a couple of months so if all goes well there may be a chance that they will take me on fully when the placement ends.
I was able to get a couple of pictures done but decided to spend most of my time trying something new, the result of this was the story that I wrote, I had the idea for this story for months but never got around to typing it up.

While I'm here I would like to say thanks to the people who faved and commented on the pictures that I uploaded, I always like to hear peoples oppinions on my work.

Well that's all I have to say this time so I'll post another journal update at the start of next month.

I finally decided to joinup to Fur Affinity, I wasn't sure if I should or not at first but some people I talked to highly recomended it.
So far I am glad that I decided to go ahead with it, it gies me a good opportunity to show some of my art and look at the art of others.
I'm sure i'll have a great time on this site and I look forward to seeing how it inspires my own artwork.
