Posted 6 months agoMy check engine light came on today. It turned on 19 days ago and we found out the exhaust sensor was sending the code, so it's probably that again... So to be safe, I'm gonna be doing a purge to try to build funds for a potentially expensive repair

Weird dream
Posted 11 months agoLast night I had a really weird dream where Pixel had gotten popular within the furry fandom. Not the mouse² species, but Pixel themself. In theory, this would be fucking cool as hell, except for one thing. People were treating Pixel as if they were a character from a show and drawing fan art or commissioning art of them, completely erasing the fact I own them. For some reason it rubbed me the wrong way enough to wake me up a hour before my alarm was supposed to get off for work.

Posted 2 years agoWhat started as an oil change and tire rotation nearly quadrupled in price, so definitely selling off unused OCs. I'd say just make an offer on anyone, but please stay out of the main OCs folder. I'd really appreciate the help...

The hardest part of internet friendships
Posted 2 years agoSaturday morning was meant to be great, I got up, we got donuts, and I started to relax for the day so I'd have all the energy I needed to go watch Evil Dead the Musical that night... except, nothing went right after 10:35 am cst...
That morning, CreatureUnknown had posted a picture of his cat to his discord server. It was normal and everyone was in awe of the sweet baby that was "Jackie doo". At 10:35 am that morning, I received a ping from his server adressed to everyone from Lexal, his boyfriend. Creature had passed... what you'll read below is my final words to Creature in the digital museum that a few of us started for him using his OLD discord server...

Creature was honestly someone I wish I got to know better, but still highly looked up to. He, without knowing it, pushed me to improve things in my art, such as bigger characters or softer/thicker limbs. While our discord conversations weren't long or very frequent, a random DM from his was always a welcome surprise. My last conversation I ever got to have with started because he sent me a Stitch tf piece from another server he was in, because he knew how much I loved Stitch, and our conversation from their turned into how you'd never expect people to sound in calls vs how you picture them sounding... if I had known that was our last conversation, I would have found a way to keep him talking to me... but now, all I can do is write empty letters to a ghost account. Letters that'll never get read. Letter that'll go unseen for as long as his account isn't deleted.
When Lexal broke the news, I was really hoping it was an elaborate set-up for the murder mystery group YCH idea, but it quickly sank in that it wasn't a prank. My chest was tight and a pit formed in my stomach. I wanted to scream. But selfishly I made the choice to be strong, to be the server's "mom friend" for those who needed a shoulder to cry on, trying to hide my own pain because I wanted to see everyone feel better first... it's been 24 hours and I'm still trying to process the loss of a person I barely knew, but... as the Disney Channel series Amphibia asked and answered, is it really possible to miss someone you never knew?

My biggest regrets so far have been not getting to know Creature better, since there was a good chunk of time between him leaving Deviantart and me rediscovering him through FA, as well as purposefully avoiding server voice calls or muting myself because I thought he might find me annoying at times. But the Creature I did get to know appreciated everyone around him, even if he was a bit annoyed, upset, or stressed at times. He had a taste for bad puns and stupid drawing ideas... he loved chespin and zangoose... and he loved his cat Jack and his boyfriend Lexal...
Creature, if you could see us all now, I'd apologize for being so stupidly sappy and potentially sounding like a huge kiss ass here.
We in the server had decided to make your birthday (October 28)#CreatureUnknownDay on twitter and FA, and I even renamed a zangoose after you and put it in my team on Scarlet so you'll always be along for the adventures.
My mom always associates cardinals with my grandfather, but now, I'll associate them with you, know that when I see one, it's you keeping an eye on the community you brought together.
Thank you Creature, for a wonderful 2 years of orbs, jokes, random noises, and wonderful experiences I wish I could experience over again.

If you've read this far, I appreciate it and I'm sure everyone else who was touched by him is too. He brought together a community with his server, one full of people I'd probably never would have had the opportunity to talk to. He was an inspiration to som. A mentor. A teacher. A friend. Family. And now... he leaves us with a legacy that will be hard to compete with. Friends, do me a favor, go tell your internet friends, even if you barely talk or aren't 100% friends yet, that you love and cherish them. Talk with them and get to know them the way I wish I could have gotten to with Creature. Life is a beautiful thing and we need to cherish it.
Of all the things I wish I could have told him, there's 1 simple one I want to share here. Last fall, Creature had gone to Gen Con and when he came back, told us he'd love to be in an artist alley at a con. If he were still with us, I'd have suggested he look into being an artist at Naka Kon 2024, as I had found out this past naka that our little anime con apparently has a large furry community.

Posted 4 years agoWhile at work last night, I was thinking about my ocs. After Ho'ola and the pokemon characters came about and after acquiring Edward, there's one I kinda just dropped out of the main line up and I feel bad about it, but like, I hardly use him. I'd consider selling him, but I'd ask a min of around 90-100 just because while I'm not as attached any more, he holds some sentimental value since he's been around since I was a freshman or sophomore in high school...
