Sewing/Tailoring commissions closed for now!
Posted 11 years agoHi guys!
I thought I'd type up something to let everyone know that sewing and tailoring commissions are closed until after Rainfurrest. I don't want to rush any projects with clients I have, so I sincerely apologize to those who are interested in my work, but sewing projects, including tailoring, takes time and I want to make sure I have enough time. I also need a little extra time to create my table stock for my dealer's table at RF and finish up a fursuit that has been on the brink of completion for a few months now.
If you haven't received confirmation of your project from me yet, I will be in touch soon to let you know. We likely will have to schedule your project for after Rainfurrest, but I will let you know. I appreciate the interest in my costume work and tailoring skill! I will do my best to fulfill what I can.
I have information about my commission process here: http://matrices.net/orderguide.asp
And i keep a queue of my current projects here: https://trello.com/b/Rmlp7JTU/matrices-net-queue
Thank you everyone!

Online Store Update! Balaclavas, Collars, Whiskers, Claws
Posted 11 years agoI finally had the chance to update my etsy!
https://www.etsy.com/shop/Matrices
I now have a handful of items for sale in limited colors, including balaclavas and collars! Since my next event is Rainfurrest it'll be a bit before you'll see my dealer's table. Be sure to follow my shop since i'll be adding more items as I get the time to make them!
I DO ship internationally, but for now (until I get my shipping profiles updated) not directly through etsy. If you have any questions about items you see for sale and would like them shipped outside of the United States, contact me here or through etsy and I would be happy to give a shipping quote to your country. Sorry for the confusion.

Have something I made for you? I'd love to see photos!
Posted 11 years agoI would love to make a big collage of client photos, if you have a cute prop, fursuit part, even a fursuit I built, or tailored work I have assisted with, send me your favorite photo showing it off! You can also email your favorite Matrices Made prop/part/fursuit enjoyment photo to sara[at]matrices.net
If I made you something awesome in the past, and I haven't yet posted views of it to my gallery, I may not have had the chance to get "studio" photos before it got delivered to you. I would love to also get some shots of those sorts of items to display proudly in my galleries!
Since I will be re-posting these client photos into a collage, I'd like to make sure I have permission from you (or the photographer) to re-post them.
Feel free to comment with links, or email images directly to sara[at]matrices.net
As for other updates, I think I am finally caught up with emails and FA note replies! Thank you everyone who awaited my replies. If I missed replying to you about your project idea that you wanted me to make for you, please do not be shy and feel free to re-send your message. Since I don't want to leave anyone out, I may have missed some tutorial/construction replies -- If you are still stuck, you can re-send me your question(s) as well.

General updates & contact info!
Posted 11 years agoJust thought I'd post a general journal to update folks about what I'm up to. :3
My next event I'll be attending is VancouFur near the end of the month! I'm just driving up for a day or two, so hope to get the chance to hang out with you there -- if you're going! I don't have any other conventions planned until Rainfurrest in Sept, so you will all have to have fun for me in the mean time!
I'm a little behind with replying to notes, email, and to posting finished pictures of delivered projects to my galleries, and I apologize! I will be getting a reply out to everyone soon, and hope to get pics of projects that have already been delivered up in the galleries soon as well. I've been working, working, working on sewing and illustration projects and it can be tough to break away and get replies out and pics edited into collages for posting.
If I missed your message for work you'd like me to do, please let me know -- I don't mind! If you haven't initiated a message (note or email specifically) to me about your project by now (Feb 15), I am now temporarily closed for new work until I catch up. Sorry about that inconvenience! If you got your message in before today, I'll definitely get a reply out to you very soon! <3
I keep track of small updates on my Trello https://trello.com/b/Rmlp7JTU/matrices-net-queue
If you are a client of mine, do not hesitate to drop in and ask any questions about your project(s)! I typically devote time to a few projects at a time but take pictures once they are at a more finished level, so often times you'll get a big heap of updates & progress pics at once as the project is closer to completion. :D
Other than that I got Skype back up on my laptop again, I often am busy working, especially in the evenings. But I don't mind chatting on occasion, I enjoy talking about all kinds of topics. I'm not very good at holding a convo without a topic, haha. But you can find me at RaisedbyDogs / sara[at]matrices.net on there. I really REALLY like introductions. Especially in the case of IMs. So aim for an introduction even if we've chatted briefly before. I really insist on it if we haven't chatted or if you'd like to add me. An intro can be as simple as "Hey, its Matrices on FA/Weasyl and raisedbydogs on twitter. I draw cartoon dogs and make costumes. I'd love to chat!" keep in mind I prefer to keep topics pretty much G rated.
I am on Twitter a lot these days. Its perfect for me, and a great place to get in touch too! I post lots of pictures of my dog and crafty stuff I am working on. I'm on there as @RaisedbyDogs

Furry Crafter and Artist Secret Santa Gift Exchange!
Posted 12 years agoHi everyone!
I usually like to participate in a gift exchange every year, but a few of the places I was a part of didn't do one this year for whatever reason, SO to fill that mystery-gift-giving void in my life I decided to make one possible this year!!
It is hosted on Elfster, which makes it easy to sign up and ask questions in secret. To sign up follow this link:
http://www.elfster.com/exchange/vie.....250034/7f9f2c/
Signup deadline is by Dec 15th -- that's when the assignments get assigned. And the deadline to mail your gift is Dec 23, the Monday before Christmas.
You do not have to be an artist or crafter to participate! Items can be handmade or purchased. But please be aware that physical art or crafted items are what is encouraged to be exchanged! The exchange is intended for furries, but does not have to be a specifically "furry" craft, all art forms and gifts are welcome. We all want something fun from our Santa to open from the mail!
The spending target is between $15 to $20, and it doesn't have to be a single item but if you put together a few small items try to make it within the target range so each Santa receives around what they spend.
If possible, include in your Elfster "wishlist" section of your profile a link to your Twitter, FA page, character ref sheet(s), favorite animal(s), if you have any pets, etc! To make it easier for your Santa to get ideas. Don't worry, there IS a setting where you can make this info only available to THIS gift exchange if you are using Elfster for other exchanges too. Example: http://www.elfster.com/profile/view/7252849/
This exchange is based in the USA, this is to limit shipping costs and time spans so they aren't too much for those participating, if you are able to weigh and print shipping at home, https://www.paypal.com/ShipNow has affordable rates and you can put the package in your outgoing mailbox from home. Due to the timetable, some gifts may not get to you BY Christmas: https://www.usps.com/holiday/holida.....ping-dates.htm so try to avoid gifts FOR Christmas, try to make the gifts FOR the recipient. If that makes sense!!
Thank you for your participation!!!

Are you a crafter local to North Whidbey Is/Fidalgo Is (WA)?
Posted 12 years agoI'm just putting a reach out and seeing how many folks are hiding in the woodwork that are truly local-ish to the area I'm in. Wishful thinking perhaps? But hell, its worth a shot to post right here on my FA since who knows, you might be out there and didn't know I was here!
I'm interested in forming a craft night that doesn't take too much out of folks to travel to, and that means North Whidbey Island or Fidalgo Island, and those who have easy access to that small region of WA. I'm specifically about 2 miles from Deception Pass Bridge, and hoping to organize within the towns of Anacortes or Oak Harbor. As a possible suggestion for initial organization spots: Whidbey Coffee in Oak Harbor (along highway 20 by Wendy's) has a nice private-ish space with a large long table we can draw at & I can call and schedule a time to reserve the space if needed. Penguin Coffee in Anacortes, or Moka Joe Coffee (off march's point) are both more public, but both have some space for sitting & drawing, I could also call ahead and reserve tables if needed. I'm open to suggestions for other spaces as well. Once we get past initial introductions and get to know eachother a bit -- at my discretion -- I am willing to let craft nights happen at my home too. That comes later though.
Since I'm interested in forming a craft night/art jam/fursuit/cosplay making style meetup -- I'd like it to be dedicated craft time. To clarify it is not specifically a "hangout" or "furmeet" meetup, if that makes sense. You and anyone you bring will be asked to bring their own project to work on. As a goal: I'd love to see projects, and art get made, while having the opportunity to get feedback from others and share our work.
I know there's folks an hour and a half's drive further south that I love to craft with as often as possible, but just putting a shot out in the dark to see if there's anyone more local. Hope you're out there, locals!!

Posted 12 years agoIt was so awesome and fun and I really had a great time getting to fursuit and see all of the wonderful faces that stopped by my dealer's table! Sales went well, and I am so glad to have helped all of you that stopped by my table to buy some of my items, or for any fursuit-making advice, especially
yupuffin -- I hope the things I showed you will help you for many more future costumes!!
I lost the hair tuft I made for Matrices sometime after rolling around on the floor (haha) it was magnet-on, and just a little grey poof a few inches long made out of the light grey dye lot of the promo-shag style fur. If you happened to pick it up I would be happy to pay you to ship it back to me. If not no problem -- I was told that Lost & Found was turned into the hotel, I haven't checked if it resides there yet or not but if I don't hear anything I will give them a call its such a small item, I imagine that it could've been considered a scrap and got tossed. No biggie -- I can make another. But its worth asking around just in case!
I'm collecting photos or clips of Beef Jerky, Mukilteo, Matrices and Binturong if you have any! And if I did a badge or an inked sketch for you -- if you have the chance, send a scan my way and I will feature the drawing here in my gallery! :D
For those of you looking forward to seeing Bitey, my newest maine coon kitty costume, at RF. I unfortunately didn't end up bringing it. I changed my mind last-minute about bringing the costume, and decided that it will be for sale as a BRAND NEW costume in the next few weeks Bitey has found a new home already!! My original plan was to bring Bitey to RF and show off the costume there and then sell after. But now since I didn't bring him it will be NEW for the next owner to debut! Keep your eyes out for that future auction! It will happen this month! So start budgeting to adopt a kitty costume if you are interested in my work!! ;D Will come with a ref sheet. Bitey already got purchased by a private buyer, he will debut at an upcoming convention!! Which one? You'll have to wait and seeeee!!!!!
I'm booked for sewing commissions for now, but if you have a project you are interested in having me do for you in the future, please still get in touch with me, I'd love to work for you. :3 I know I talked to a lot of you at my dealer's table about project ideas, and I am definitely happy to work out the details on those with you if you're still interested.
Also keep an eye out in my etsy shop, I plan to restock with a few items over the coming weeks. http://www.etsy.com/shop/Matrices -- it may still be in vacation mode until I am able to take inventory of what stock I have remaining. I almost sold out of everything at RF!
Thank you to everyone for another awesome convention!

I'm a big fan of you using my character names if I am acting in my fursuits! It might not be meee in my fursuit, so your best bet is to use the character names! Beef Jerky. Bitey, Mukilteo (muck-ill-tee-oh pronounced like knuckle-with an M +teo).

From me you'll receive a scan of the inked sketch of your character! <3 Let me know if you have additional questions. I won't be coloring these, but since I have been told I have a "coloring book" style, you are welcome to color your commission you receive from me.
I'll reply to you with my paypal information to arrange the commissions so there will be time to get references together.

3DS Friend Code: #2466-2215-5697
Posted 12 years agoHey folks!
I recently (like many of you) got a Nintendo 3DS and thought I'd offer up my friend code!
It is #2466-2215-5697
If you add me, tell me your friend code too! :D Feel free to note it to me if you prefer to keep that private.
So far I just have Animal Crossing: New Leaf but I also love to send SwapNotes!! So feel free to add me on. I hope to get other games in the future, like the new Pokemon game that is coming soon.
If you have a game that is your favorite, recommend it to me! I'd love to hear why its your favorite too, just in case there is a reason (there doesn't have to be! ;3) I'm interested in seeing what else is out there, too. This is the first time I've had a new console since the Wii and original Nintendo DS released several years ago. I'm pretty excited to say the least.

Auctions! Lots of variety in the things I've got for sale!
Posted 12 years agoI've got quite a few items for sale on my eBay account right now! I also have more video games and accessories I plan to list in the future as well!
There's currently lots of variety in the current items offered, it ranges from an Autographed book written by Guy Fieri, to scrapbooking supplies, video games, and a few stuffed animals.
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d.....atrices_oddity
Most of the items are "Buy It Now" so you don't have to wait until an auction's end.
In addition to that, I have a few items for auction right here on my FA, some handpaws, a fursuit prop, and a cute plush raccoon!

Meet Me at FC2013!
Posted 12 years agoHi everyone!
I am very very excited about FurtherConfusion this year! It is my first time in about 10 years that I will be dealing at a convention. Find me in the dealer's room! My table will have a green sign that says "Matrices.net" and I'm a girl with straight brown hair.
I will have fursuit collars for sale, fursuit props, balaclavas, dog rabies tag charms, paracord lanyards and bracelets made by
malameux, and some other items! For the best color selection get there early!!
I will also offer Illustrated badge commissions/tonal badges/sketches/etc on a one-at-a-time basis. I do not want to overwork myself, so I am not going to be taking a queue. I will also be scheduling consultations/tutoring sessions on how to make fursuits, these spots are limited as well. (See http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4211508/ for more info).
Also, a little about me: I love introductions, so at FC, please introduce me to whoever you are with, even if *you* think I know them, I might not!! I am not very good at remembering names, so don't you dare be insulted if I have forgotten it. Please be polite and remind me your name, I am not good at name guessing games either, so don't pull that. I appreciate it!
I am not sure yet which costume characters I am bringing, definitely Matrices (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9668208/) so you'll just have to find out at the event, I guess!!
My etsy store is currently in "vacation mode" after FC I plan to update it with new items, so keep a look out! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Matrices

My etsy store is currently in "vacation mode" after FC I plan to update it with new items, so keep a look out! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Matrices
Fursuit-Making Consultations/Tutoring with Matrices!!
Posted 12 years agoGet your Fursuit-making questions ready for the next event I'm at!
Have you ever just needed to talk to someone one-on-one to get some help with making your fursuit? Need someone’s brain to pick that has experience on the subject? Having trouble patterning or overcoming a hurdle? I hope to assist you with your fursuit-making related challenges with the offer of a fursuit-making consultation.
What is included in a consultation?
• A scheduled hour-long time slot dedicated to the topic of teaching you how to make your fursuit, the time slot will be at a mutually agreed-upon time.
• Potential subtopics can cover: hand-stitching techniques, patterning, foamwork, creating an expression, making a bodysuit, footpaws, handpaws, sculpting, appliqué, zipper installation, necks, digitigrade illusions, and so on!
• Matrices may, at her discretion, provide sketches to help illustrate and clarify the topics being discussed. For example sketching a diagram for digitigrade shaping, pattern shapes, where to add foam, and so on.
• Consultations will take place after dealer’s hours have closed and the time slot must be agreed upon in advance.
• Consultations will discuss costumes intended for all audiences in a professional manner.
What will the consultation not cover?
• This is not at all a commission; Matrices will not be building a project.
• If commissions are discussed, the consultation cost is not part of any commission price.
• Because this is just a conversation session, there may not be any samples, examples, or materials available for demonstration.
• Casting and creating a mold for resin or silicone won’t be covered.
• Consultations are one-on-one. Please ask if more than one person will be in attendance for the consultation--a higher rate may apply.
• If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask when scheduling!
Consultations/tutoring sessions are priced at an introductory rate of $50/hour, to be paid at the beginning of the scheduled time. If extra time is desired it can be paid at the beginning of the additional hour if it does not conflict with any already-scheduled appointments.
If the appointment time slot is missed there may be an opportunity to reschedule, please discuss with me about rescheduling. Consultations can also be scheduled over video Skype call after the event, different rates and conditions may apply.
Please seek me out at my table in the dealer's room to schedule your appointment with me! I will have a big green sign that says "Matrices.net" at my table!
