i've spent the last few months realizing i'm a lot more mentally ill than anybody realized and im not in a position where i can get the help i need for it.
but it still doesnt mean that im doing the right thing by not answering notes and not stabbing away at foam and fur.

so i run outside barefoot to the manager’s apartment, start banging on the door for a solid TWO MINUTES which is too much fucking time to be wasting if there is a mother fucking FIRE IN MY APARTMENT BUILDING
and this random fucking dude who i’ve never seen before cracks the door like three inches and hes like “…what…?”
"UH THE FIRE ALARM IS GOING OFF???? YOU DONT HEAR THIS SHIT?????"
and he’s like “…okay…” and shuts the door.
and i’m like “YA KNOW WHAT FUCK ALL YOU GUYS, I’M GETTING MY FUCKING CAT”
i run back to my apartment, throw on my slippers and hoodie, toss my safety deposit box into my backpack, leash up Guapo and run back outside into the fucking rain

obligatory new year journal, i suppose.
most important information regarding my fursuit making is in the newest journal over at conifurous so go check that out if that's what you're looking for.
the past few days has me more motivated than ever.
been finishing off projects, sending them out and spending time with friends and family.
i learned and grew a lot as a maker and as a person in the last year, i think, but i want this new one to be even better!
my boyfriend and i are going to be moving into a new one bedroom apartment this month. we're still waiting on applications to finish getting processed but we'll be staying in the gresham/se portland area for sure.
in the meantime though, i'm going to appreciate the spare room i now have since my uncle ditched us as a roommate. i moved my fursuit supplies and desk into the room only hours after he moved out. haha
i wanna work more on drawing this new year. i always enjoyed it but felt like i'd never catch up to my other artist friends. i realize though now that if i don't at least try to practice, i'll never improve.
i'm also going to make more products for secondlife. i really enjoy texture modding and people liking my things enough to buy them. haha
i want to eat better and lose weight but that's what i say every year, huh? haha
in the end, i have a lot more i wanna do but i guess that can be generalized to "i just wanna be better in my endeavors this year."

there is just so much and yet, there is nothing
my depression and anxiety are at an all time high. i need to renew my health insurance and make an appointment so i can finally get on medication for depression and anxiety as well as get back on birth control.
i'm having relationship issues but i'm not going into that right now.
my depression/anxiety gets worse when the space around me is gross. my apartment is super fucking gross and i feel like even if i try cleaning, it doesn't make a difference.
i have one partial to finish (which i should have fucking finished already but i am fucking trash), one partial to start and finish, armsleeves to finish (one good thing is that the fur i've been waiting TWO MONTHS on for these armsleeves, finally got here today), a pair of handpaws that were prematurely paid for MONTHS ago (this is why i take payments as i'm working on your guys' commissions cuz if you pay me and it takes me a long time to get to you, i feel like shit), a head to be started and finished from a trade, and two handpaw commissions that i'm sure i'm going to have to message the commissioners and tell them i just can't get to them.
i have to get all that shit done before i have to move at the end of january because if we stay in this apartment and renew our lease, our rent is going to go up again and we're already paying $775 for a shitty two bedroom, with no dishwasher, washing machine or dryer and the back door has a huge gap between the glass door and the stationary glass which lets all the heat out which makes our electric go up a fuck ton cuz we have to turn the heaters up to stay warm.
plus on top of everything, i took a last minute trip a couple hours south to visit a friend's town, stayed the night and came back yesterday, but the trip got me sick. my whole body hurts today, i can't breathe through my nose, can barely breathe through my mouth either since my throat is super mucus-y.
most of the time i feel like the world is crashing down but then i'll have, i guess, a disassociative moment where i think i'm just being a pussy and this isn't all that bad and i need to just fucking get over myself.
i dont even know anymore. i feel like shit. and because i feel like shit, i know i'm disappointing people which makes me feel even shittier.

since i work from home, i tend to get my days mixed up and can't keep a schedule worth a damn.
what i'm going to do from now on is work on fursuit stuff between when i wake up (which can be anywhere from 11am to 3pm, since my boyfriend has a graveyard shift and i tend to sync up with that) and 8pm. i wanna try to work every week day (week day for me is when my bf has work. sometimes my "weekend" might land on a tuesday or something, for example) for at least 5 hours on fursuits. i think that's more than reasonable and i can totally do it if i just get my lazy ass in gear.
after 8pm i can dick around on the internet and make adoptables and whatever else, or i can keep working on fursuits, if i'm in a groove.
i just really need some sort of set schedule. @_@

i just got the package from fabric.com that was supposed to contain the spotted wolf faux fur for a set of armsleeves which needed to be finished and shipped within the next couple of days.
when i opened it, i found a textured black minky sort of material with a sticker on it that said "spotted wolf" which it's obviously not. i've emailed fabric.com about this, but their hours of operation already ended by the time i got the package, so they will probably respond tomorrow morning. i've asked if it's possible to get a rush order for the fur i PAID for but i don't know if that'll happen.
i'm waiting for the commissioner to come online so we can figure out what to do if fabric.com doesn't pull their heads out of their asses.
i've never had a problem with fabric.com before and when i'm really on a deadline crunch they send me crap fabric that i'll never be able to use in my projects. i'm really frustrated... *head/desk*

Wheeler’s plan would let Internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon create a two-tiered Internet, with fast lanes for the few who can afford the extra fees and a slow dirt road for the rest of us. These companies would have the power to pick winners and losers online and discriminate against online content and applications. And no one would be able to do anything about it.

In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites.
I don’t want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing I’ll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesn’t seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely.

Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able to limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and I’d rather not be limited even more by someone else’s greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain.

As I understand this ruling, it means that businesses now have to pay extra to ISPs to have access to their websites through that ISP provided at a reasonable speed. If you don’t pay, users’ access to your website will be slowed to a crawl - so independent people and small businesses can forget about getting onto that high speed access tier.
This means that the American internet is going to be firmly under the control of those who have the most money. You’ll only get to see the content of those who can pay the ISPs to provide access at a reasonable speed. This means that you can expect to see skewed representation of just about everything, with those bigger businesses who can afford to pay ISPs a premium for access deciding what you can and cannot read, view and consume on the internet.
This is not something that we have in the UK. Our ISPs compete with each other to provide higher speeds, better services and lower prices, but because there’s a monopoly in the US of a few ISPs who provide services, they can afford to do this to you. You can’t go anywhere else, after all.

FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler is pushing a plan that would allow rampant discrimination online. If approved, this proposal would kill Net Neutrality.
Wheeler’s plan would let Internet service providers like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon create a two-tiered Internet, with fast lanes for the few who can afford the extra fees and a slow dirt road for the rest of us. These companies would have the power to pick winners and losers online and discriminate against online content and applications. And no one would be able to do anything about it.
So far more than a million Americans — a record-breaking number — have filed comments slamming the FCC's proposal.
The agency is taking comments through Sept. 15. Don't miss your chance to weigh in: Tell the FCC to throw out its rules and instead reclassify ISPs as common carriers.

In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites.
I don’t want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing I’ll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesn’t seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely.
Please sign up, fight for this and share it with your followers/friends/family and urge them to give them hell as well.
Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able to limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and I’d rather not be limited even more by someone else’s greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain.

As I understand this ruling, it means that businesses now have to pay extra to ISPs to have access to their websites through that ISP provided at a reasonable speed. If you don’t pay, users’ access to your website will be slowed to a crawl - so independent people and small businesses can forget about getting onto that high speed access tier.
This means that the American internet is going to be firmly under the control of those who have the most money. You’ll only get to see the content of those who can pay the ISPs to provide access at a reasonable speed. This means that you can expect to see skewed representation of just about everything, with those bigger businesses who can afford to pay ISPs a premium for access deciding what you can and cannot read, view and consume on the internet.

what a shitty way to start my day

but i’m awake wow
BECAUSE, i got up to pee and before i went back into my bedroom i looked out my sliding glass door and noticed my bike was gone from my porch.
the thing about my apartment is that it’s half underground. to get to my front door, you have to go down some stairs. to get to my back door, you have to hop down a 4 foot concrete wall and onto my porch.
also on my porch, i have a little garden growing. a shitty zuichini plant which probably wont do anything this year, a tomato plant, some carrots and some green onions.
well my green onions are crushed. meaning somebody stepped on them.
meaning… some ass hole not only stole my shitty bike which was uncomfortable to ride but mine nonetheless so i’m pissed, BUT also stepped on my fucking shitty tiny green onions to add insult to injury.
best morning.

so in my late night wandering of the internet and my constant refreshing of my profile page to see if i had gotten any new messages and clicking of the home icon on tumblr with no new posts, i became super bored.
i went and started browsing the new submissions here on fa.
i noticed somebody posted a wip pic of an adult diaper they were making for their business.
my immediate thought was "uh.. weird.. :/" but i stopped myself and instead thought "ya know, i am so ignorant to this side of the fandom. i've seen cute art of people's baby fur characters and seen cute baby fur avatars on secondlife, but i dont get it."
i've never really researched that hobby/fetish because of the fetish side. it's NOT my cup of tea and i think it's pretty gross for adults with the total capability to get up and go use the toilet to soil themselves for the luls.
so i messaged the person who posted the wip pic asking "hey what's all this about? i want to be educated and not be so darn judgmental and ignorant!"
they were super kind to reply to me, explaining to me a good plenty about what sorts of reasons people have to be interested in acting out being small children.
i basically came away with this: baby furs/adult babies/diaper lovers are pretty similar to fursuiters, in the way that, yes, it CAN be about the fetishness of the act, but a lot of folks just wanna have fun.
like, i like to put on a cat costume and squeak at people for fun, others like to throw on a bib and a diaper and play with some toys on the floor for fun!
i think a lot of folks really dont like the baby furs because of the stereotype that it'll ALL fetish and sexual but we, as furries, deal with that same stigma all the time and we should be more open minded and accepting of eachother. we're all in this fandom together and we should try to blow away our ignorance and try to understand one another.
well, that's it, i suppose. just kinda wanted to share that i became a little wiser tonight and i feel pretty good about it.

commission update: urgent care clinic
Posted 11 years agoi thought i had a cold but it could be symptoms of something else.
i had to suddenly leave a few hours ago, to go to an urgent care clinic for some pain that became sobbing-inducing.
i was examined and given medication for the pain and a prescription for the potential condition to see if it had an effect while i wait two days for results to come back from the lab.
this means i'm still on the bench for a little while longer, before i can get back into the fursuit commissions game.
my one commission with a deadline will still get done on time, even if it kills me, i will do it.

because i dont wanna get my germs on your stuff and get you guys sick, i'm taking a little break from working on commissions.
i only plan on being bed ridden a couple of days so commissions with deadlines WILL be met, i swear.
