Why do people ask questions in shouts when I can't respond to shouts? Is there some way to reply to them that I haven't figured out

So I noticed that I have over 600 followers by now, thats a pretty good number considering I don't post here super regularly!
However, I myself only follow 40 people. So, based on my art and what is in my favorites, do you guys have any recommendations for me?
Any artists I should check out who do similar subject matter to me?
