General | Posted 13 years agoI'm excitable right now. c: I just started construction of my first partial fursuit, and it's coming out pretty nicely thus far. I've finished one arm, and I've got the other one to work on. Then some leg-tubes (wearing shoes, kthnx), and finally the head.
xx The head. I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to constructing it, or if I'm deathly afraid it's going to be ugly. It can't be any worse than the first few sculpy- sculptures I had to make when I took a sculpture class. I figured that one out, so I'm sure I can figure this one out. It's the furring I'm nervous about.

Pokemon Fursonas
General | Posted 13 years agoI kind of dug my grave when I googled it.
I'm not really a journal kind of person. I'm really shy, and so that generally translates into the avoiding verbal / conversational contact with everyone until spoken to. However, looking into whether there were any groups for Pokemon fans with Pokemon fursonas, I saw a whole lot of hate and badgering on how it's unoriginal / how a fursona is supposed to be representative of you.
I don't really have a character who is 100% a representative of me. I have a retired beaver, a rat, and an Oshawott character. I'm exceedingly fond of my Oshawott, and have been working on finalizing a design to use as a fursona entirely, while using the others as side-characters. There's a lot of design work that goes into this. I've been trying to find a nice balance between what an Oshawott is, and what I want my character to look like so that it best represents me, while also representing what I like (Gen V Pokemon, which for the Gen I puritans, I felt was a more interesting generation, and I -liked- Gen I best up until Gen V).
It's kind of irritating to see that tarnished as a cop-out, and makes me feel a little self-conscious about the whole ordeal. :/
Oh well. Going to be an Oshawott anyway. Because I can. But seriously, damn.
If there're any Pokemon Fursona folks out there, wanna drop me a line, or something? Or hell, anyone. c: I'm always up for a chat, and would love to meet some folks who don't mind the whole pokemon thing.
