LVC Animal Tech:
Faux-Tail - Note that the Japanese Neko ears don't actually use thoughts, they use density of focus. LVC is working on algorithms to find the wave lengths associated with emotions to properly make thought controlled animatronic tails.
Faux-hide - Developing a Skin tight fabric that will allow the wearer to maintain a constant surface temperature of 70 degrees whether in Hot or Cold weather. The idea being that the material will expel excess heat when the internal temperature is above 70 degrees, but trap heat when the external temperature is below that. This would be used with Faux-fur to make a suit that did not overheat the wearer and would allow for constant wear.
Paw Shoes - Spring suspension heels absorb shock in the way a normal knee and ankle joint would, relieving the wearer of damage caused by traditional heels, while also granting the wearer the ability to run, jump, walk digitigrade, or, with a switch on the side, plantigrade.
Fox Ears - Using the modern technology of long range microphones and ear-buds to develop a set of animatronically driven thought processed hearing aides. These would pivot a focusing dish in the ear towards the point of the persons mental focus, or swivel about when the wearer was not focused. Designed to mimic the ears of Foxes, with options for wolves, dogs, cats, etc.
Live Eyes - Using display technology to create a built in HUD that would work in conjunction with LVC Mind Algorithms and give the wearer a look through the animals eyes from within, and others a look into the animals eyes from without. (Internal displays show the wearer either clear vision or vision tuned to be more like their chosen species, while external displays draw a look of that species eyes so bystanders see the wearers inner animal.)
Taur-mech - We intend to purchase a Boston Dynamics Big Dog for conversion to a thought processed exo-suit for taur characters.

What's up in March 2012
General | Posted 14 years agoWell as many of you know, I was involved in a shooting at the end of the last month, That situation is mostly resolved, and I am continuing on with my life at a rather healthy pace now, or at least I'd like to think so.
That may be in part thanks to the vigorous activity I am doing to pay back my grandfather for loaning me some money to deal with court fees.
Shooting at burglars aside, March is a big month for me. I turn 22 this year, and while that is not a big deal, It is the first time I will have my Birthday away from home.
Since I am not enrolled in college, (Having to take a semester off.) I have a lot of free time to work on my company.
I also have my new room mate,
kitsukyo to thank for helping me out a lot lately. Kit is officially doing the art for LVC's games, and I couldn't be happier.
My Mother jinhelong has really started to do some heavy work on her TF story series, everyone should check it out.
And Finally I will be away from the net from March 16th to March 25th for a local Therian gathering.
I hope to do a lot of Art while I am away, and I'll be doing a lot of other stuff too. Catch you fine folks later.

General | Posted 14 years agoI think my biggest problem with the world today is the sheer level of stupidity in humanity as a whole. Now I am not saying anyone in particular is stupid, nor am I saying everyone is stupid, but Humanity is only as smart as the stupidest human.
It's like the naval rule, the fleet only moves as fast as the slowest member of the fleet.
If we look at history, we can see hundreds of mistakes made by our predecessors, and almost everyone recognizes these mistakes for what they were.
That said today we are repeating some of the worst mistakes of the past 2000 years.
People look at things like SOPA, and either OVER REACT, or they look at the people over reacting and they in turn UNDER REACT. Let me explain. Johnny Appleseed says SOPA is a way to consor the internet and for the government to embed software on your PC and it's all a conspiracy to take away your rights. Tim Thomas sees Johnny's rant and immediately checks the facts, It turns out that Johnny exagerated a few details, so Tim assumes that the whole thing is wrong and counters Johnny with, "That's not what it does, it's just there to stop piracy."
The problem here, Johnny was wrong on a few details, but some of the major ones were right. DNS blocking of sites would effectively allow for censors without due process.
Now we have Half the country screaming OMGZ, and the other half screaming Trollz.
EXCEPT, not everyone is paying attention to either side. There is a larger group than both who choose to ignore the issue for one of several reasons. Either they believe it could never pass anyway, they don't know or don't care, or they want to stay out of the Drama War going on between the two factions, and as such, their silence is taken for passive acceptance.
Now SOPA is not the only issue to look at here, we also have the NDAA, the "War on Christmas", the "War on Terror", the "War on Drugs", the "War on Poverty", Does anyone notice a theme here?, the large number of Mega Banks that have destroyed the global economy, Radical Nations like Iran and North Korea, Manufacturers in China, The US and EU currency battle for control of the global market.
The scary thing, In the past 1000 years, Almost every one of these has occurred before. We will start with the "War on Christmas". Sorry Catholic Church, as much as I am a believer I must use our past to make a point. In the years following the Fall of Rome, and the rise of Christianity, The Church aggressively attempted to wipe out all pagan holidays and faiths. While their motives were good from one standpoint, their methods were radical by today's standards.
First they co-opted the pagan holy days in order to make conversion easier. Then they used simple logical posturing, and sometimes military power, to convince the population that the way of Christ was the only truth. Was this bad? In that these people were forced to become what they were not, yes.
Parallel today: Atheism is being pushed as the only possible truth, and Religious Holy days are being Co-opted by secular, market driven groups. Any time someone makes a major fuss about this, they get "Well we have to be fair to everyone, not just 'insert religion here' peoples."
Now how about the Chinese control on manufacture of many goods. In the past, The British Empire held a global monopoly, The currency of the world was weighed against the pound, and England was the ruler of the seas. Then an upstart young nation realized it's potential. The United States became the leader in manufacture of goods, it's taxes and trade incentives powered global change and pretty soon the pound fell to the dollar. When this happened, the pound became almost worthless, people starved, lost jobs, the government went into major debt, power and water and other utilities all came apart.
Parallel Today: China has begun to control global manufacture, and while their currency isn't as strong, another is getting to be the new standard. The Euro, and as the Euro gets stronger, we can watch as US Infrastructure deteriorates. The Interstates and Highways crumbling, Massive blackouts shake a disastrously antiquated power system, and US unemployment skyrockets while the deficit plows through the roof.
It is time for people to take a look at the world around them, look at history, and realize the direction that we are going. I have one more parallel. The Fall of Rome.
Roman Roads crumbled as the military no longer needed them, Roman holdings were abandoned to pay debts and tributes, Technological advances were lost to history's flow, The Roman government relied more on foreign labor and arms to sustain itself, The people of Rome were given bread and entertained to keep them from dwelling on the problems racking their empire.
Finally Rome fell.
Today US Infrastructure collapses, US Holdings are being traded to pay debts and appease foreign interests, Technology has hit a snag as the capital to continue growth fades away, The US Relies on foreign funding, aid, and labor to sustain itself, the Citizens of the US are given massive social programs to "Help them out" and make them feel better about being in poverty.
Finally The US Government fights against itself over who within it will get to save the country.
2012 is the year, And while the world may not end, 2013 will see the largest change in the global Status Quo since the Fall of Rome.

Do you need a bath? (One screwed up dream.)
General | Posted 14 years agoI have a distinct feeling that I will get to live out either my fondest dream, or worst nightmare, when I die. Why do I think this you ask? I have killed and tortured so many fictional characters by way of video games and writing, that half the seats in heaven must already be filled.
Last night I dreamed (Extraordinarily Vividly) that I was sitting in a Kitchen, watching out into farm fields. In front of me ran the characters from my latest story, playing in the grass.
As I watched, someone walked up behind me and spoke with an almost emotionless voice.
"If you want to join, them you need a bath."
It picked me up and set me in the sink.
Now many of you don't know, but my father loves to cook. It's one of his many passions. He has long wanted a restaurant grade kitchen, including several massive sinks. I am talking half a single person shower sized basins.
I turned around to face this person, I was standing about waist high in the sink. They had no face. They turned on a sprayer nozzle and started hosing me down with it.
With their free hand they pushed me down on my butt and sprayed the hose into my hair. I started feeling really weird. The water was not too hot, but it was really warm.
They took a label-less bottle and covered my back in the cold gel it held. Then they started rubbing and lathering it like soap or shampoo. As they worked it into a nice foam, the skin underneath seemed to peel away to reveal a soft layer of fur. Everywhere they washed began to react the same way. I sat speechless as I watched my humanity washed away with each rinse of the hose and rub of their hands. Eventually I was a human body covered in fur, but that wasn't the end of it.
They took out another bottle, and talked again, I don't know how without a mouth but I heard it clearly.
"You don't want to get fleas or ticks. We need to treat you." It was another kind of shampoo. They worked it into each inch of my fur. They kneaded my hands and feet into canine paws, then massaged my arms and legs till they were in the right shapes and proportions. I was forced to sit on my haunches in the basin. Everywhere they worked this new shampoo, my body changed to be canine in form.
It felt like an hour later, the smell of coconuts, baby powder, and wet dog filled the room. I was still in the sink, and they used a massive hair blower type thing on me. Water droplets flew everywhere and I shook my body to get dry in the warm breeze.
They picked me out of the sink and set me on the floor. I was only as tall as their wrists which hung limp by their side, the job done.
The faceless being leaned in and said.
"Go bark."
I woke up to a few IM's and started writing this journal. I have to keep this dream. I don't know why, I just feel like it is important.

General | Posted 14 years agoIt is a sad day when a friend passes on, I didn't lose anyone I knew this past week, but many other people have. I can not cheer them up. It is good to be sad, but be happy as well. Those who have gone before us have found their true home.
The Dragons get their wings,
The Foxes get their tails,
A Ship of wondrous light,
Sail warm above the Whales.
The Wolves join with their packs,
The Cats relax and murr,
The Deer Frolic through forests,
All Furs receive their fur.
God smiles upon his children,
As any man can tell,
Go forth and join the peace,
Earth is the only Hell.
Heaven awaits every man, God knows how to forgive. Let us mourn our losses, but keep in mind the happiness our friends have gone to.

General | Posted 14 years agoInsanity is the repetition of an action with an expectation of a different outcome.
Logic is what man kind uses to stave off insanity and recognize that repeated actions have the same effect.
That said I have realized that I am rather tired of reading through peoples journals, more specifically, when said people are very politically and closed minded.
I rather hate when a person can claim every day that no one else thinks for themselves just because they agree with a particular political group. I hate to tell them that no idea is a new idea and everyone will have someone that agrees with them in some way.
Example I have been called a Nazi and a fascist in the past, simply because I believe that the armed forces must be strong and well funded. I think that we can never expect any other government to act peacefully if it isn't in their best interests.
I think that Social systems need to be cut drastically to remove the dependance on the government, and I follow a lot of Conservative and Republican beliefs.
That does not mean I only believe in that way, because I disagree with them on a lot of issues too.
One such is that Man is the best creature to exist, that God made man in only one way, and that man should blindly follow these teachings because it is moral.
I despise fundamental religion be it Catholicism, Protestantism, Judaism, Islam, or any other.
I feel Morality should be based on what is best for man kind as a whole. Most conservatives would be sick if they saw my opinions on hybridization between humanity and animals. I believe that morality in science should extend only as far as to stop things that would only harm humanity, and anything that can be done to enrich human life should be done. Even if that means changing what human is.
I really dislike when people don't do their research. One example being that many people think wolves are endangered. They are not. The only species of wolf that is not listed as Least Concern is the Red Wolf, with a population lower than 300 world wide. All other species are thriving in most places. There are a few that are regionally endangered, but the species as a whole is not at risk.
Is it wrong to wipe wolves out in Montana and Wyoming and such places? Yes, but to claim it is wrong based on the false assumption that wolves are endangered is just as wrong. It is more proper to say that wolves are a vital link in keeping the balance with nature. There are no wolves in Alabama, and we have massive over population of deer. Wolves need not be killed, wolves need only be moved and spread across those places that once had them in such abundance.
Regionally speaking the wolves in Yellowstone and nearby have been recovered. They are thriving actually and this has ranchers worried that wolves will kill off their food source and move to the next available thing, cattle. These are the people pushing the mass culling of wolves. Hunters recognize that wolves keep their deer and such healthy, they are being used, however, as the scapegoat and tool for the culling.
People who claim to be informed should do a lot more research and actually talk with the people they claim are ignorant before they pass judgement.
