Starting to Draw Again!
General | Posted 8 years agoIt has been the LONGEST time! Like 3 years since I have drawn properly with intent to post.
I'm also planning to start a Patreon account, so I can start contributing to the household and have money of my own to spend on the things I want. I'll make some nice ad-art and post it all over FA and Facebook, etc. to, to make sure I can get a good amount of traffic coming to my FA page, as well as the Patreon account.
On the Patreon account, I will focus my comic "Creme de la Creme". The more my patrons pay, the more splendid rewards you will receive! As well, more comic pages will come out faster! I can do a full page in 3-6 hours; so I can do one page twice a week at first and hopefully increase from there.
I'm re-designing the characters the characters as well, so it will still be a while before I can produce comic pages... But, I'll get the rust off my drawing-hand and drawing senses/abilities, and try to make some pieces and finish up some commissions I haven't completed yet.
I hope all my extremely lovely, loyal and patient fans will continue to stick around while I am working again, thanks to new medication!
I'd love to hear responses to this journal! Encouragement is ALWAYS welcome, and a major boost for me to draw, practice, write my story, get the storyboards down, etc. etc. etc! LOVE Y'ALL!!!!! ^_________________________________^ heeeee...!Trying to Manage
General | Posted 10 years agoHey guys/gals!
I've been fighting with my insurance company for about a month trying to get them to correct my coverage info. They royally screwed-up and for 2 months I had no coverage, even though I was supposed to have it. Then they try to get us to pay for coverage I didn't have! Fuck you guys! Then they reinstate my old insurance plan that they said they terminated (hence no coverage), so they're like, "You have to pay for this plan and your new one because you didn't cancel the first one." UGH!!! So after literally a MONTH of wrestling with them, we finally got everything sorted out.
I also am starting with a new doctor because my old one dropped my insurance provider (of course...). But, the new doc is really close to my house, so it ain't all bad. I'm gonna have to re-arrange my meds once again because one of them is causing me more harm than good.
So yeah, that's what I've been upto...

Quick Update and Why I need Commissions
General | Posted 11 years ago So, I thought I'd update on the commission front. I've got 2 slots taken so far, and they are coming along nicely. I've been trying some new techniques with inking and coloring, so we'll see if those come out good. I'm also working on some back-log that I've been working with for a very long time but have been having bad luck with because the work is so detailed. I'm a major perfectionist, and if my work isn't up to my own standards, it's not good enough for my clients. This is why I tend to take so long with commissions because I don't want to feel like I'm half-assing anyone's work.
Also, I thought I'd inform as to why I need commissions all of a sudden. See I have started seeing a psychologist that I desperately need to have in my life, but she does not take insurance. Luckily, we worked out a deal where I will pay her with only my co-pay per session, which is $30. So basically I need to gather up $30 per week to pay for my therapy sessions. So, yeah...

Commissions OPEN!
General | Posted 11 years agoI have decided to open commissions again on February 23, 2015. I'm feeling and doing so much better in my life that I think I can handle doing them again! I am going to let y'all reserve spots NOW; 5 spots are available for reservation. To reserve, fill-out the following information in a comment on this journal:

Commissions will be obtained on a first-come-first-serve basis.I'm Fucking Sick of Being in PAIN 24/7!!!!
General | Posted 11 years agoI've been trying all my new migraine meds, and they don't work for shit. Literally the really expensive one I wrote about having so much trouble getting previously, does NOTHING. I'm so goddamn sick of migraines and pain and not being able to see and throwing-up all the time... goddamn it...
I can't believe this...
General | Posted 11 years agoMy art has regressed so dramatically I can barely recognize it. The quality of my work that I'm putting out now is just shit compared to where it used to be. I'm so ashamed....
Also, insurance companies are the fuckin DEVIL INCARNATE!!! If you know me, you know I have suffered from chronic migraines since I was a 7 year old (one prevented me from enjoying the "haunted house" my after-school program had created for us kids... can't join in with a 101 degree temp apparently... yes I cried... hard...). Today I got to see,for the first time, a headache specialist, who not only agreed that what I've been through and dealing with is horrific, but actually seems to CARE about my well-being! Never had a doctor like that before! He actually said he would be upset with me if I killed myself. (Other doctors hear that and say something like, "Wow, you want to die? That's not good... "). He gave me a very specific set of medications, 3 pills, and a nasal spray which is $3,000 per bottle!! So I'm thinking, "Thank GOD! Something that might actually work!!" So I go to get the stuff, and they only have 2 of the pills in stock. Ok, big deal they'll order the third I'll get it on Monday. The nasal spray, on the other hand, is so expensive, insurance actually won't pay for it without a pre-order verification from the prescribing doctor. They think I can just, try a similar product and be fine. I'VE FUCKIN HAD THESE MIGRAINES FOR 21 YEARS!!! I THINK MY DOC KNOWS WHAT I NEED BETTER THAN Y'ALL DO, SEEING AS HOW HE KNOWS ME!!! They're a multi-billion dollar company, and they won't give up $3,000 (which I know is ridiculous but even so) to let me be pain-free for one day in my life!! FUCK YOU INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!!!

Webcomic
General | Posted 11 years agoI decided a while ago to make a webcomic. My dad is kindly making a server for me to have my site on, so hopefully I'll be able to get started on the first few pages. So far I've had no luck what with my chronic (FUCKING) migraines and severe anxiety attacks AND depression. I don't understand how people can do it; force themselves to get out of bed and draw when you wish you weren't alive... Can anyone help me understand that?
I'm Reviving This Account!!!!!!!!!
General | Posted 11 years agoI have been trying to get commissions to gather around and my other account is generating noooooooooo attention. So, I figured I would revive this account and start posting here again! My other account will still be there and I will post art there as well, but this will once again be my primary account! I've really missed it too; I didn't think I'd get so attached to an art account, but I did!
So yeah, if you're still watching me here:

Updates
General | Posted 12 years agoHello FA people's!!
My official artist's handle is now "MilkScrew", I just thought I'd put that out there first. If you are going to address me on here, please use that name. I haven't been around for quite a long time for numerous reasons, the main one as of late has been my mom's extended stay in the hospital. Update on that is that she has been moved to a semi-rehab facility to get weened off the ventilator and will maybe go to a full-on rehabilitation center later on. She has a very bad case of post-coma dementia, which is delirium caused by the sleeping drug propofol which was used to keep her in the induced coma. It is supposed to wear-off but it is still very bad; at this facility they are going to give her "cognitive rehab" that is basically meant to bring her memory back. At this facility as well, dogs are allowed to be brought in to help with the rehab process! So my dog that has been missing her so much will get to see her soon!
Anyway, in my limited free-time I have been working and changing my art style and methods. I've started using a traditional sketchbook again for the first time in about 5-7 years. I stopped because I began to get very annoyed with traditional paper and pencil as compared to the digital tablet and stylus. Everything seemed so much messier, I really didn't want to deal with it. But, I have now come to realize that the more I practice, even when not with my tablet, the better I will get at art. So, I must suck-it-up and draw all I can no matter what I'm using. Which I'm actually enjoying doing so far! YAY!!

Wonderful News!
General | Posted 12 years agoMy mom is pulling through! She's getting a tracheostomy done today to let her breathe easier since she is now awake, and I will be visiting her daily for extended periods of time (I plan to read her the Harry Potter series since she never got to) while she is still recovering. A lot of the fluid in her lungs is going to be suctioned out today as well, but there is considerable improvement (otherwise they wouldn't wake her up). She is still in the ICU of the hospital, but I have no doubt she'll be in recovery very soon! My friend and I are going to make her a t-shirt that says, "I KICKED DOUBLE-PNEUMONIA'S ASS AND GOT A T-SHIRT TO PROVE IT!!!!" I think she'll get a kick out of that!
Thank you all so much for all your prayers and well wishes, I know they were a huge help to my mother, and I'll tell her how many people were pulling for her while she was out, and still are even though she is awake. Thanks so much again, and y'all have a great day!

Terrible News...
General | Posted 12 years agoMy mother has pneumonia and is currently in critical care in the hospital. She is stable and healing but it is going to take a long time for her to recover from this. She is currently in a medically induced coma to help her body both rest and slow the process of the disease. She's being treated with antibiotics and steroids, and in intubated (breathing tube) and will start getting nutrition via a feeding tube tomorrow. She is improving daily, but she is VERY sick. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, and if any of you are or have a love one with bronchitis, get it taken care of immediately!! My mother HAD a bad case of bronchitis and it became the pneumonia. Always take care of yourselves.
My Crazy Week!!
General | Posted 12 years agoSoooo, I had a seizure on Christmas Eve! It was weird; one second I'm adjusting the power level on the microwave with my dad, the next I wake up on the floor with 5 guys crowded around me all talking at once! I was asking what was going on and what happened but all that was coming out of my mouth was blather, then I passed out again.
Woke up in the hospital in a gown and everything. My dad looks at me and says,"You had a seizure in the living room!" I'm all, "HUH?!" and he tells me I went silent and stumbled backwards then fell and hit my head on the brick fire-place and started seizing. So my dad runs over to get my head off the floor and he pulls his hand away and it's covered in blood so he tells my mom to call 911. All of this happened in a span of like 8 minutes.
I'm ok, it was scary and I got sick the next day from the drugs they pumped in me, but other than that, OH! And I got one staple in my head from where I hit it. Not a big cut, but a good sized one nonetheless. The staple hurt more than anything to be honest. The doc at the hospital said everyone gets 1 unexplained one in their lives so it was no big deal. Nothing showed up on the CAT scan...
The only think that really pissed me off was that for CAT scan, they removed all 4 of my 3 day old lip piercings! GODDAMNIT!!! I tried to put them back in, but no, I'll have to have them re-done. I'm going to ask my piercer (a sweet girl named Dianna) if she'll maybe re-do them for free considering the circumstances by which I had to take them out. She's very kind, so she might! Just fyi, they were canine bites, I LOVED them, but they weren't TOO painful so I can stand to have them re-done.

Broken Tablet, Lost and Found, FML It was RIGHT THERE!!!
General | Posted 12 years agoSo my old tablet decided to finally kick the bucket. It's not a huge loss since I have a Wacom that I was keeping in storage for if the tablet I was using did die. So I do have a tablet, but I have another of the kind I was using on order (I'm not rich, it's a relatively inexpensive tablet).
I spent the last 2 days looking for my stylus to my Wacom. Seriously I tore the house apart looking for that bastard! I kept saying, "I know I put it somewhere safe...!" But I couldn't find it no matter where I looked. I was considering buying a new one but the price for a new Wacom stylus for the model I have is $150!! That's ridiculous! So I just ordered the new tablet. Last night I was looking randomly at my perfume shelf next to my desk...there's the stylus. Standing pretty, safe and sound on the shelf, in the WIDE OPEN! It was so obvious I missed it! FML...

Thinking of Opening Commissions Again...
General | Posted 12 years agoWhat do y'all think?
Coming Back...hopefully...
General | Posted 12 years agoSo, I've been working on a few different areas of my artistic talents. I decided a long time ago that I wanted to get back into sculpture, but for the longest time I didn't have any ideas nor drive to get into the hard work of it. Lately though, I got a lot of drive back and I'm getting back into making maquettes again! My first one will be a re-make of my first ever maquette that I made back in highschool; a faery doing a back-bend on a huge ball. Already from the planning stages I can see how much I've improved since then; I'm really excited to see how it all turns out!
I'm drawing like 50 characters at once right now as well...every time I think of one, another one pops into my head that I just HAVE to get out. Could someone offer me advice on how to stick to one pics/character until they are finished?

I feel SO much better!!
General | Posted 13 years agoBasically I've been really working hard to feel better the past few days, and it's finally starting to pay off! I have been depressed severely for the past 4-5 months and am just now coming out of it. I'm enjoying drawing, and makeup, and shopping all over again; I'm getting back to being the real me. I'm planning to go to Art college in 2013, and moving out of my parents house as well to pursue my dream of becoming a professional concept artist.
Thanks to the efforts of my gf, I am finally starting to not hate my appearance so much, so I actually care to take care of myself once again.
I am going to try and start posting more often, but I'm still getting back into the swing of things so bear with me.Where've I been? Why'd I leave?
General | Posted 13 years agoTo make a long story short, I have been overwhelmed by life. Numerous things have both failed and gone wrong, leaving me very depressed, sad, anxious, and paranoid.
However...
I am SLOWLY, emphasis on SLOWLY, getting back to where I need to be.I wish...
General | Posted 13 years agoI wish I could talk to someone about how much I hate myself...
Starting Fresh
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm going to probably either delete or move 90% of the work in this gallery to my scraps folder. Why? Because I'm really bored with it. I don't like 90% of what is here! It irritates me. You can say whatever you want about it, but I don't like it. So I'm going to clear out my gallery, and start anew.
"Creme de la Creme" will now simply be a cast of characters. The entire story is being put in storage for the time being. Hopefully once I get my first works published in the future, I will pick it up and work on it again. But until then, there really is no point in me doing it because I don't particularly enjoy it any more. The characters and their personalities, pairings, and dynamics will all be the same. There just is no longer going to be solid plot involved in any of my pics of them. I love my cow girls and I want to draw them more for fun than set to a rigid storyline.
Me-Me Momocorn is getting her own little slice of this page since people seem to like her so much. I'm giving her a family who will all be available to have commissions done with; they will be posted once I've decided on their concrete designs. Actually, I'm thinking of making a page dedicated to the "Fruiticorn Four" so all their stuff can be on that page all nice and organized. I have a few more surprises involving my fruiticorns, so stay tuned for that fun!
Oh also, no more free art. To anyone. I've been taken advantage of for the past 2 years relentlessly, and I'm simply not going to do it anymore.
Me-Me Momocorn belongs solely to me as do the Creme De La Creme cast. If I see anyone claiming them as their own all hell WILL BREAK LOOSE.GIIIIIR!!! (Best Easter Present EVER!!!)

We adopted him from an adoption event being held at our local mall by our state animal control center. It was totally spontaneous, we were just going to look at all the dogs for the fun of it, but this little guy just yanked my heartstrings. He's predominantly dachshund but I'm sure he's got chihuahua and a bit of whippet in him as well.
He’s an older dog, about 8 y/o hence the gray around his muzzle, and he’s very underweight from mistreatment at his last owner’s hands. Apparently he was dumped at the pound when the family moved and not in good condition. He has dander as well, and kennel cough, but those are easily taken care of. I took him to the vet's today and got a round of antibiotics for the kennel cough, some ear cleaner for his crusty ear (which I didn't notice but the vet did), and some prescription food supplements that are very high calorie to help him put on some weight. I'm shooting for 4 lbs for him to gain but no more than that.
We’re focusing on getting him plumped-out and healthy atm. He’s a wonderful little dog whom I think deserves a good home like the one my family and I have to offer. His name at the pound was “Chico”, but that didn’t suit him nor did he respond to it. His new name is “Gir”, yes, from Invader Zim! DOOOOOOM!!! We got him a nice little collar that suits him beautifully and a perfect bone-shaped name tag! We also bought him his own bed, food and water dishes (they're ceramic, very pretty) and I have given him a nice little baby blanket for him to forever sleep with.
He LOVES to be held and cuddled, I'm thinking of getting him another bed for my bedroom so he can sleep in there at night rather than in the living room. I'm really bonding to him, he's such a sweet little dog. He is a bit shy and meek, but not to the point where it's a problem, he's opening up more and more day by day, we've only had him a day and he's already opened up significantly and attached himself to my heel. He even has a favorite pee-spot in the front yard!
