Natonal World-Tries-to-Kill-Meerk Weekend
Posted 13 years agoNutty, nutty 24 hours I've been through. I was driving 
Goldenbullet666 to a local furry dance, with 
relaxingdragon1 tailing behind. But as the fates would have it, my car went all Michael Bay and exploded with smoke and special effects. Luckily RelaxingDragon1 was 5 minutes behind us and turned off the highway to help figure out what happened.
But then HIS car dies on us, now we've got two dead cars, and we have to call up the dispatcher from AAA (super awesome dude btw) and ask him to jumpstart the other car. Not willing to just let me go home and mope all night, RelaxingDragon1 and goldenbullet666 follow the truck back to my place and, after a 5-hour delay, we hit the dance floor!
So I wake up and decide I can TOTALLY bike the 7 miles to work today, since my car is now a rock on wheels. Weeelllllll its like 95 degrees out, and GUESS WHAT?? 5 miles out, my bike tire ASPLODE as well. Then I make the 2 hour walk back to my house and call it QUITS for the rest of the weekend.
There will be a memorial service held for my car on the 25th.

One after the other. A lot of self-improvement type stuff. Is it a Solstice thing? Cuz, I'm sorry Summer, kissing up to me won't make you my favorite season.

I don't have a ref sheet
Posted 13 years agoLately I've been contemplating getting another commission. It might be a badge, or an avatar, whatever. But each time I think about it, I feel like I don't really need a ref sheet to give the artist. My character is really that simple. I know that folks can go a little crazy with their unique markings and other aspects. Ya know, the whole 'one ANGEL wing and one DEMON wing with THREE tails' stereotypical fursona build.
But I don't really have anything. Sure, I got stripes. But the only defining characteristics I have are my hair and little markings under my eyes. Am I wrong for feeling like I should, I dunno ... add more? Or maybe fiddle with the toony/realistic ratio?
Then again, I'm sure some inspiration comes from the fact that different artists do commissions, and in and of themselves, they can give a person ideas for fine-tuning their fursonas. That sound about right? 0_o

I love FA and all that, I'm cool with the UI upgrade and stuff, but there's one thing that this site has that I think has to change. Namely, the watching system.
Deviantart has the same deal, where you can view a list of your watchers and those you watch. But frankly, what I think sites like these miss are what other sites like Facebook and, yes, even Inkbunny are doing right. A simple ICON to represent your watchers/watchees (watchees??)! Cuz right now the only thing that gives me that is my perfectly NUKE-ABLE history of watchers.
Honestly FA gives me little incentive to browse other peoples' pages (not including when someone posts something new, which can be rare seeing as not everyone on here has an account to post art). Really, I'll have more of a reason to read a person's journal or see what they favorited if I glance at their avatar first. I may be linguistically inclined, but everyone agrees that seeing your pal's avatar is more reminiscent of your friend than their username in small, black text.

2009 review

1. What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?
Just about everything furry-related. Two fur cons, bunch of meets and parties!! Learned a lot of random things from crafts to food to all sorts of stuff.
2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Never made any
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, but my cousin got married.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully no, not a one.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just this one.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Really, in many ways I have a little less than I did before. Not as much dependable time or money. There are a few things I've been trying to get. Better car. New bed. And on the abstract side I'd want a more steady job and more experience in a few things. Hell, a class or two at DVC would be golden.
7. What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Aww do I have to say why? >.> Uhm. 1/10/09 was my first big furmeet. Both conventions. That full moon night in the berkley hills. 3/26/09 was that time at Chicken when there was a lot of suiting! I'll remember 6/18 and 7/26 for personal reasons. Ah and of course thanksgiving and new years eve.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I wrote an 18,000-word story in a week based solely on half a page of notes.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I totally spent a gross amount of time on a gift only to have it epically fail in the end.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Hell yeah I got a nasty cold in december and for a while i was convinced it might have been freakin swine flu.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
OMG either that 17 dolla cake for cinnamon or 96 bucks worth of fur.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Oh jeez too many people.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Well there's a few but who'd want to go out and mention things like that? And hey it was last year, come on. For example, someone made me depressed last year and now I think he's super awesome. On the other hand someone made me appalled and I still don't care for 'em.

Once in a Blue Moon

Time was well spent in the procuring of wine, candles, strawberry wafers, and the folding of many blankets. All for start of a new year under this full moon.
Oh, sure, the view from my hilltop celebration was fantastic, but what truly made it a night to remember was how the ground shook ... by what you ask?
Why, the fireworks, or course! Wonderful fireworks, really. Or the bovines nearby, who deemed it appropriate to ruin my moonlit debauchery with their incessant cacophonous mooing.
But all was made well as I stumbled down that moonlit hill, a bright halo encircling the cloudy night, as I witnessed an ambulance. That really put things into perspective: The cows may have made things weird, but at least I wasn't on a stretcher.
