We're giving away 1 FREE registration (or upgrade) for Megaplex 2016, and 2 more spots on Megaplex's poster art where your own character can be featured! To be entered in the drawing, all you need to do is pick out a favorite photo from a past Megaplex and share it on our Facebook timeline, or post it on Twitter.
If you're posting to Facebook, be sure to post your photo to our Timeline. Posting to your own timeline does not count as an entry. If you're posting to Twitter, please mention MegaplexCon & #LoveMP2016. Increase your chances of winning by posting up to 5 unique photos of Megaplex! (This is 5 photos total, not 5 on each site)

The first drawn winner ("grand prize") will be given a free registration for Megaplex 2016 August 5th-7th. If the winner is already registered for the event, an upgrade to a Sponsor level membership will instead be offered which includes access to Megaplex's sponsor lounge. Megaplex 2016 Important Dates and Info **
General | Posted 10 years agoGreetings everyone! On behalf of the staff of Megaplex, I’d like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season! Hotel and convention registration for Megaplex 2016 will be opening on January 1, 2016 and we anticipate this to be our best year to date! There are a lot of fun things already being planned for the summer, and we’re hoping to see everyone there!
As a reminder, we will be running our special super sponsor promotion when registration opens. The first group of super sponsors that register will be able to have their character included in our hallway posters. These fun posters really help set the theme and atmosphere for the convention, and this year we will be planning some really fun ones. In keeping with our theme of “British Invasion”, we will be incorporating characters into iconic British pop culture imagery. The inspirations will come from works such as “James Bond”,” Dr. Who”, “The Beatles”,” the IT Crowd”,” Monty Python”,” Sherlock Holmes”…and so much more.
There are limited spaces in the poster artwork, so if you would like to have your character included in the hall posters, you should register as quickly as possible after registration opens! Of course, with our new hotel and the amenities that it will provide, plus our outstanding guests of honor, the staff truly believes that 2016 is really the YEAR TO BE HERE at Megaplex. I hope you’re all as excited as we are, and let’s start looking forward to an amazing Megaplex!

General | Posted 10 years agoAnother Megaplex has come and gone. Thank you - all 1,472 of you - for coming and enjoying the furry festivities with us for a truly amazing year!
Attendees came from far and wide: 35+ states, and 5 other countries.
Total attendees in the parade - 359
Money raised for our charity C.A.R.E was - $8,260
We owe special praise to our dedicated staff members and volunteers, who meticulously kept the show running behind the scenes all weekend long. We also owe heaps of gratitude to our wonderful guest of honor, Fizz Otter for his amazing Laser Light show and programming time. Not to mention our performing guests Fox Amoore, Rhubarb the Bear, and Cosmik, as well as all the DJs and panel and event hosts who brought great entertainment to the convention, and artists who spent the time putting together all of the work you saw in the hallways and took home with you in the con book. Thank you!!
As we bid farewell to the Cops & Robbers, we have a few final announcements to share:
Firstly, we're already starting to brainstorm ways to make Megaplex XV: British Invasion the greatest Megaplex yet! Mark your calendars: The convention will be at a new hotel next year. We will be at the Embassy Suites - Lake Buena Vista South from August 5-7th, 2016

Megaplex - 2 wks away - lets get the party started

we have so many amazing panels and events this year. here are just a few :
- Do you like to dance? Then don't miss out on the dance competition auditions on Friday at 7pm and Saturday at noon in the the maple room. Then come and see the dancers compete on Saturday evening at 6pm in the main ballroom.
- Uncle Kage is back this year with another story hour. ( wine and awesome stories will happen )
- Not sure how we managed it but we have the ever amazing Fox Amoore, Cosmik, Rhubarb, Stitch and the gang back for an awesome concert.
- Our great charity is C.A.R.E again this year and I just know we can all pull together and help raise even more money for them than last year. We have so many ways you can donate whether you decide to participate in the poker tournament, carry around donation buckets, buy something amazing at our charity auction, or even put In a few bucks for a truly memorable picture with one of the animals you will be helping.
** Remember this is just some of the events and panels - BUT you know no Megaplex is complete with out our nightly Dances, and our dedicated and talented artists in the Dealer Den and artist alley so make sure to give them some love to.

Sick Tiger at C.A.R.E Needs your help - Megaplex Charity
General | Posted 10 years agoThe C.A.R.E foundation is an amazing Non-Profit Wildlife Education & Animal Rescue Facility in Florida.
A Sick Tiger in Need
One of their Bengal Tigers, Pumpkin, has been sick and is need of medical care. Tiger's don't have health insurance, so one of their volunteers has put together a crowd-funding campaign to help offset Pumpkin's health care costs. Please take a moment to view the campaign and help us out by spreading the word.

If you haven't heard, our artist guests of honor this year are the ever-amazing FableFire and Fizz Otter. They're excited to be a part of this year's events.
Are you an artist? Do you like to write short stories? If you have a creative idea that you think delves into the world and life of Cops & Robbers then we would love to feature your work in our Con Book! Details and submission info can be found here.
We have open staff positions in Con Security, A/V, and General Staff. If you're interested in joining our team, fill out a staff application.
We'll also be looking for volunteers for various roles, such as our dance competition. If you're interested in signing up to help out, please fill out this form for our volunteer coordinator. For every hour contributed, volunteers are offered $5 off registration for the following year, up to the full price of a 3 day attending membership.
**Programming is now taking submissions for panels and events. Much of the programming at Megaplex happens because you, our attendees, are willing to take the time to host a panel, meet-and-greet, or workshop in a subject area that interests you. If you would like to request to host an event this year, please fill out the request form.

Artists and writers: We're now taking con book submissions. The con book is a Megaplex tradition going way back to the beginning. It makes a great souvenir and it's free to all attendees. Help us make it shine by sharing your art and stories! This year we're taking submissions via the con store.
Advertisers: We are now offering ad space in our con book through the con store. We are also open to ad trades. (New this year, ads can also be displayed at the convention on the hallway kiosk.)
(A quick note about the con store: We weren't happy with the store we were using last year so we're trying a new Drupal add-on this year. If you already have a megaplexcon.org account, you will simply need to log in (under the left nav menu) to place any order. This year the con store will allow you to upgrade your existing pre-registration to a sponsor level, in addition to the usual offers.)

General | Posted 11 years agoThis year we're planning for the biggest and craziest Megaplex yet, and to kick things off here we've got a stylish new web design and a few new online forums for your perusal.
Hehe, look at those little characters run! Be sure to explore the website - we've restructured it quite a bit and added some new content.
The Megaplex team welcomes you with open arms to our web forum. If you have created a portal account here with us already, then you’re ready to join the fray.
There's one part of our website that isn't yet open: Our online store and pre-registration will begin in January. At that time you will be able to register for Megaplex 2015, pre-order con shirts, purchase a Dealer’s Den table, buy advertisements, and more! The registration & purchasing processes have been simplified so that you do not need a separate account - only the portal account you use for the forums. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for news and updates!
