Happy New Year everyone!

In the spirit of the new year, I have decided to try to post more of my art here on FA. I took a small break from creating furry content in order to focus on school. I graduated in the spring of 2020.

I always come back to furries. Drawing furries is what my heart wants to do! My goal for 2023 is to network with as many furries as I possibly can. Please reach out and say hello to me if you want! I love to chat with people.

I have been quite busy lately in the art realm.

I have a goal: To draw at least one thing (that is not a sketch) every single day even if I don't feel like it.

I think that in this past week, I have, surprisingly, improved a great deal. I mean, the goal was to get better, but I didn't think I would get so much better so quickly.

I suppose it was just getting back into the swing of drawing, since I took a hiatus from it for a while while I moved out, got life in order, artist's block, etc. I am happy to be back to drawing again, though. :3

I feel like I owe my artist's block being crumbled to MFF. Oh man I had such a good time!

LOL, the last night of MFF, when I blacked out. I suppose that doesn't count since I don't remember it, but people give me hell about it all the time. Apparently, they had to help me pee. That was a bit embarrassing when I heard about it later. XD

FURRY QUESTIONS

-What's your furry name?

-Species?
Dogla - Tiger Leopard hybrid.

-If you could describe your furry in one word, what would it be?
happy-go-lucky.

-Does your fur have a side-story?
Lol, yes. I was raised by scientists in a lab as the first successfully bred dogla. They kept me in a cage, and I was not very happy. One day, I escaped. I hid so well, they couldn't find me for years. By the time the found me, I had already found my place in society as an artist. When they saw how happy I was, they decided to let me stay and live on my own. :3

-Is your fur a whore?
No. Flirt, yes, whore, no.

-Does your fur have any traits that resemble yourself?
For sure. We're one and the same. The only difference is physical, and even then, we share a lot of qualities.

-What's your fur's favorite outfit?
Plain red t-shirt, jeans, and a collar. No shoes.

-Describe your furs overall personality in a few words.
A bit naive, trusting, affectionate, hyper, easily amused, enjoys everyday things people take for granted.

-How often do you RP using your fur?
Every second. I am she and she is me. When you are talking to Raevynne, you are also talking to Mei.

-Does your fur have any weapons?
I'm really peaceful, so no, unless you count claws and teeth.

-How does your fur wear his/her hair?
Sometimes, a mohawk, but lately, no hair, only fur.

-Do you draw?
That I do. Since 7th grade. :3

-If you do draw, what is your style, and why do you draw?
I don't actually have a set style, which kinda bugs me. I like to draw realism, furries, and manga. I wish I could do more surrealist art, but I have a hard time with it.

-What do you love about other people’s art?
I like art that makes me feel something. To me, art is a way to communicate, and when I see something that moves me in any way (especially if it makes me uncomfortable. That's a pretty hard one to portray...) I decide that I like it. :3

-Are you envious of any artists?
Yes, Salvador Dali, Banksy, and various others. I also envy artists who can write well, because I want to draw comics, but I feel like my plots aren't good enough.

-If you color your art on the computer, what program(s) do you use?
Photoshop or Gimp, depending on who's computer I am using.

-What drawing themes do you like? What kind do you draw?
I like to draw portraits, in any of my styles listed above. Especially self portraits.

-What kind of drawing themes bug you? Ones you will never draw.
Well, the only reason why I would refuse to draw something is if it's too hard. I know that's a terrible attitude to have towards it, but I am kinda lazy. However, I can draw anything in realism as long as I have a photo, or it's right in front of me. I pride myself on that.

-What idea(s) have you always wanted to draw/get drawn?
I had really deep thoughts about moths, once, and ever since then, I can't get the idea to paint one. Unfortunately, it HAS to be paint for me, and painting is expensive. :\

-What do you think others think of your art?
People tell me they like it, and I believe them. My art teacher in high school had a lot of faith in my art, and I have won things in shows before... but I know I have a LOT of room to improve, especially when it comes to furry art.

-What goes on in your mind before/when/after you draw?
Before I draw, I imagine everything I want said drawing to be like. I usually need music while drawing, so I put on music to match the theme. Sometimes, I listen to the same song over and over and over while drawing to get it just right. Then, I am usually trying to channel the mood of the music/how it makes me feel onto the paper. If I am drawing in a place where I can't have music (say my mp3 player dies, or I am somewhere that doesn't allow music) I usually imagine a tune to draw to. After I draw, I set whatever I was looking at aside to be looked at later. I am usually exhausted, but sometimes if I am really inspired, I pick up the pencil again and keep going.

-Anything else you want to say to those who are learning to draw?
Learn realism first. I made the mistake of drawing manga style, first, and it took me FOREVER to unlearn everything I built up in my head. My eyes were always too big, my noses were always too small, etc. Once I learned to draw realism, I noticed that my anime style got better, since not only did I have better control over my media, but my proportions were now correct. Also, you WILL suck at first. Keep in mind that everyone has to start somewhere, and your favourite artist has been where you are right now. Keep at it, set goals, and draw any chance you get. Study already established artists' works. If you can find one who is comfortable with it, see if you can watch an artist at work. Also, having your peers seriously critique your work (honestly) is a great way to learn what you are doing wrong.

-Anything else you want to learn from those who know how to draw?
I want to learn how to draw from interesting angles. Perspective on living things is hard for me. :| Also, I want to know more about drawing canine muzzles. I have a hard time with them. :|
