Overdue Status Update
Posted a year agoHey everyone, I know it's been a while since my last journal; although I've kept pretty up to date on commission uploads and thankfully managed to write two more short stories since then, I still feel like random blog posts can also be fun to make. I'm not sure if I mentioned this on here before, but before my furry writing, I actually used to write for ScrewAttack (a video game website) as a community member, starting with hundreds of news articles before later writing many lengthy blog posts as well; those sadly aren't visible anymore thanks to regrettable decisions from the site owner and later Rooster Teeth, but I at least grew in writing experience and reputation. Later on, I made a biweekly retro review column named Pixel Gallery for 1 More Castle, which later became Skirmish Frogs.
Minor Commission Backlog
I have three commissions from amazing artists that I haven't posted yet, but that's due to two traditional pieces not being scanned yet while
TheGlassWolf and I try to fix technology problems at home; the third digital piece could be uploaded onto my gallery now, but I don't personally like posting things out of order:
- Casually Posed Mello (cute full-body line art)
- Circus Mello (adorable clown-themed line art)
- The Unknown Stalks Mello (badass Dead by Daylight fanart)
The first two are from Bheckadee, an amazing and super friendly artist who I had the pleasure of meeting at Anthrocon a few months ago; she has her own website and an ongoing Circus Animals comic series (which I currently love) that I highly recommend backing! My talented friend Vir-no-Vigoratus drew the third drawing listed above, which was also uploaded on his gallery if you're curious! Both of them take commissions and are super-duper peeps who I'm really grateful for.
Creative Writing Updates
I should say occasional creative writing, because I haven't written a short story in a while, although I did write a silly cat story and my boyfriend's transformation-related origin story since my previous journal entry, so that makes me a little happier. Later last year, I also made a complete outline for another cute couple story, but that never really went anywhere beyond Glass liking said outline. If anyone does want an explanation as to why I haven't done a lot of writing lately, I'm afraid that I don't have a simple one; I could say that it's related to general anxiety or a lack of motivation, among other reasons like recurring software work, but that would be an incomplete answer. Sorry to anyone who did like my past stories; it means the world to me that even one person liked them enough to comment. I will say that I hope to write again someday; just don't expect a specific timeline.
In the interest of being optimistic though, here are some cute ideas that I do have for future stories:
- Ski lift and hiking date between Mello and Glass; this has an outline and would also cameo my Leo and Alex skunk characters
- Holiday shopping from Mello, him trying to find a really cute and unique present for Glass
- Mischievous hangout between Felix and my Sam husky character; this would still be mature but not take place at a club
Gaming + Furry Conventions
While it technically doesn't matter now, for history purposes, these are conventions that Glass and I went to last year and this year:
- MAGFest
- Fur the 'More
- Anthrocon
We decided to skip Midwest FurFest last year for multiple reasons; we instead had a short trip to a distant zoo that had a hyena couple, so that was fun! The southern zoo was named Creation Kingdom Zoo, which isn't about creationism before anyone asks; they had many exotic animals who were being treated really well.
We're not currently planning to attend Midwest FurFest this year either, but it's extremely likely that we'll be doing Furry Weekend Atlanta next year instead; I've never been there myself, but Glass and friends speak really positively about it, so that's on the books! I would like to try to find an additional new convention that takes place earlier than late spring, but we'll see how life plays out.
I'm sure there's other stuff I could spend time talking about, but I wanted to just make this quick thing tonight. I'm also on Bluesky now, and my other social media things things are listed under my profile page. Thanks very much to everyone who reads this, and have yourselves a pleasant rest of the year!

Random Journal Entry - One Year Later
Posted 3 years agoGood evening, and thanks for following my stuff even though I haven't written a short story in a long time. I looked over my last journal entry from exactly a year ago and thought I would share some random thoughts and plans, especially now that things finally seem to be improving in my life. This is more of a rambling of thoughts, but I guess in the spirit of a random journal entry, I'll just randomly list some sections without any real focus or reason.
New Job - Better Company, Healthier Environment
To anyone who's followed me on social media, I had a pretty bad relationship with my last job, to put it lightly, although I still continued to do consistently strong work in terms of writing software. Despite being employed for more than six years, I went from being a fan to becoming more disillusioned in two key areas: one being the company's lack of notable health precautions especially during the pandemic, and the more personal one being my active discomfort with systemic harassment that other marginalized employees and myself were increasingly finding to be tolerated. Especially with the company consistently showing visible hesitation with regards to moderating content that was anti-queer in nature, seemingly having a double standard for when ethics policies actually were enforced with regards to queer employees feeling less excluded by others, and the desire to have the benefits of calling themselves an ally while doing almost nothing to show external support for the community, such as refusing to take extremely basic steps like opposing discriminatory legislation or publicly backing equality measures, I just became increasingly alienated particularly during the last year of my employment; this was around the time when I started being more vocal about my concerns, inspiring dozens of other employees on my own time to actively speak up albeit, and that actually did start to have some impact.
I did make use of HR and Ethics resources, but those either didn't go anywhere or in some cases had me feel passive-aggressively threatened in ways that are too complicated to summarize here. And sadly, I was also fired last summer, for vague reasons that absolutely felt like targeting was involved, but I was at least able to qualify for temporary unemployment benefits since a state deputy concluded that there was no proof that I was fired for deliberate misconduct. My last manager and I are also still on great terms too, and he helped give me some useful advice and even said some positive words as a reference; this was a way more positive relationship than an older manager I had who was verbally abusive and unfair, although he retired before I felt comfortable enough to speak up. There were other stresses too, like not being given enough agency, repeatedly feeling misrepresented, forced schedule changes that weren't flexible, and more.
Despite that traumatic period, I did eventually end up finding employment at a better company, and it's actually one that I really respect; I even was interested in it before being targeted at my past position, so everything worked out well. They show more external support, the company environment seems much more inclusive, the health benefits are notably improved, and I'm respected with more agency while still being able to contribute well to a team. It's also a remote position, so although I work from home, I have a more flexible schedule, less worries about germs, and even get to have sunlight now; what a concept. I'm being careful to not speak up against future systemic problems out of fear due to past experiences, but I am significantly happier under the far better company.
Past Goals - Partly Met
In my last journal entry, I listed several personal goals: Improve my physical health, write more journal entries, upload more art commissions while also more frequently hopping into live streams, and finally write another short story... although only the first and third of those goals were actually met.
Regarding the first, while this didn't really happen until recently, I've started doing stretches, I'm currently back into an exercise program with periodic Ring Fit Adventure sessions, and I'm getting a bit more outside activity than the start of the pandemic, making sure to still mask and get recommended vaccine shots. There have also been more social hangouts, including safely seeing my family more often, doing some cross-state meetups with older friends, going to a renaissance fair, and attending last year's Midwest FurFest, the last of which was an incredibly relaxing, safely hosted return to furry normalcy for me.
The third has been met by me getting a decent collection of both Mello and Felix commissions from a variety of extremely friendly and talented artists, and I had a lot of fun with writing the descriptions for them too. Art streams are also pleasant to go to; there are lots of lovely people to chat with and wonderful creators to support. I definitely recommend following the people behind any of my fursona drawings; be sure to leave comments on their own galleries as well!
The goal of having frequent journal entries wasn't met... whoops, but I am writing something now at least. I'll also try to give a better heads-up of planned furry conventions that Glass and I plan to attend, starting with Fur the 'More that's happening early next month. I am regularly active on social media, but I could certainly try to write stuff on here more often; Fur Affinity's profile tools have pretty good interfaces and organization potential, and as someone who used to write hundreds of news articles and blog posts for ScrewAttack, as well as retro reviews on 1 More Castle and Skirmish Frog, that's really appreciated by me.
My writing hiatus... is hard to explain, although it really just comes down to complicated motivation issues and life stress, even though I do want to write again; whether it was distractions with work activism, pandemic effects on my mental health, or other stuff, I honestly can't give a totally accurate answer. There are the post descriptions on here, which includes in-character writing from Mello, but that's not really the same thing. That said, especially since things have been physically and mentally improving for both Glass and me lately, I'm promising to myself right here that I'll start writing short stories again this year.
Planned 2022 Conventions
Heck, I may as well just share the conventions that we're attending no matter what, so here they be:
- Fur the 'More
- Anthrocon
- Midwest FurFest
We did originally plan to go to MAGFest earlier this year, but ultimately decided against it since that particular convention does a pretty bad job at controlling the spread of diseases; this is in contrast with Midwest FurFest, which was far less claustrophobic and had excellently enforced standards with its only notable issues involving a few security issues outside of pandemic themes, plus everything was cleaned well too. The aforementioned gaming con also refused to grant refunds even after newer pandemic developments; they had large amounts of overcrowding and officially reported outbreaks too, which is really not okay.
Future Short Stories
Following what I said further above, do have two planned ideas for future short stories, although I still need to write some basic outlines:
- Mello shopping for presents (friends and loved ones; this was in my last journal entry)
- Origin story for Glass the Latex Hyena (transformation away from his former wolf form)
These would be simple stories that are around four pages each, just something cute to help me get back into creative writing.
Alright, that's the end of my rambling nonsense until I feel randomly inspired to make another journal entry about something. Speaking of inspiration, I want to promote Glass and The Stickman in particular for helping me with anxiety problems and past writing, so thank you very much to them. And thanks to everyone who looks at my stuff and provides positive words; I really like getting to interact with y'all and develop my characters, so keep rocking on, you lovely beans!

Obligatory Late Journal Entry
Posted 4 years agoHey floofers and scalies, I don't really know why I rarely make journal entries; they're weirdly intimidating to start... I think I actually have more short stories uploaded than journal posts, even though the latter shouldn't be that hard to write; just my irrational and anxious self being dumb, I suppose. By the way, to anyone who has read any of my creative writing... thank you so much, because as lame as it sounds, that's kind of the work that I find most meaningful in my life, since it's something that actually stays behind and whatnot. I absolutely love talking with my many awesome friends though, plus I still enjoy uploading varied artwork!
For whatever reason, I didn't write convention reactions for the past two years, but which I attended were about the same as prior years, so see my previous journal entry for some general notes. It's really lovely getting to physically see faraway friends of mine at these events; more recent examples include rooming with the super-dooper Skah 'Yoonk, hanging out with the kindhearted Kenji Fox at Anthrocon, meeting the creatively cool Crowned Victory, and talking again with the jazzy author Joshiah along with other lovely peeps like the valiant Vintage Coyote and positive Pepper Coyote... I like alliterations a lot, if that wasn't obvious yet.
Other random things from the last few conventions include:
- Buying more emotionally moving artwork to hang up
- Chilling at wonderfully varied restaurants with friends
- Continuing to listen to authors at writing panels
- Convincing a non-furry friend to attend their first furry con in the area
- Getting my butt absolutely kicked at a Mario Kart tournament
- Somehow winning a modded Super Mario Bros. competition
- Touring parts of Pittsburgh, Chicago, and other pleasant places
- Winning prizes in a Leopardy show; yes, that's the name, and it rocks!
Thanks to everyone who volunteers at these events! I look forward to seeing more fluffy faces again once the pandemic ends.
Speaking of awesome people, my continued gratitude toward all of y'all who continue to help the furry community thrive; any bad apples and toxic incidents are easily outnumbered by the amount of general kindness and positive inclusivity that's everywhere. This especially is true during the ongoing pandemic, which has taken emotional tolls and been depressing to many people including myself, having a hugely significant percentage of hangouts online now, plus I'm pretty sure I'm a germaphobe now, so that's fun... but it's nothing compared to those who have been infected, so stay safe and hang in there, everybody! Your positivity and empathy toward others are super appreciated; be sure to also take care of yourselves though!
Before ending my spontaneous and unorganized journal entry, here are some current goals of mine:
- Improve own physical health, trying to exercise (or at least move around outdoors) more often
- Make more Fur Affinity journal entries (more than annually at the very least)
- Upload more art commissions, and hop into live art streams more often
- Write another short story after my weirdly long hiatus; I have an idea involving Mello and presents!
Have I mentioned that my boyfriend and I still love each other? Because we do! I'm extremely grateful having him during the outbreak. ^_^
...Was this journal entry cheesy enough? Anyway, thanks for reading my rambled thoughts, and stay awesome! Meow!

Furry Conventions - Notes + 2019 Plans
Posted 6 years agoHey look, I'm using the cool journal feature of this site that I almost never use for... some reason. But yeah, I wanted to just give a brief update on planned furry conventions that Glass and I plan on attending this year. Regarding ones from last year, I've previously posted some general thoughts on those in gallery descriptions for most commissions that I end up getting during the conventions, which is good for when I neglect to update my journal like so many other people do... Let's improve that going forward! I'll share more random thoughts on past convention visits too.
These are future conventions that we'll be at, with this year's dates, and I'll also list some brief notes on past things I liked!
Fur the 'More - March 15 through March 17
- First furry convention I ever went to!
- Local and pretty relaxing hotel, plus lots of local friends attend
- Great opportunities to catch up with the NOVAFurs meetup group, which includes status meetings
- Smaller than some conventions, but still has panel variety, special guests, multiple floors, a varied marketplace, and more!
- Some past highlights: Artist conversations, Boozy Badger's first panel, charity auctions, chill art auction, inspiring writing panels, sexual assault awareness panel
Anthrocon - July 4 through July 7
- Extremely welcoming, incredibly lively, and lovely city! Locals look forward to annual furry visits too.
- Contains an incredibly large and diverse marketplace! Some mature businesses unfortunately banned, but lots of furry talent everywhere!
- Met plenty of new faces in the past, such as the inspiring author Joshiah, the moving artist Rukis, the entertaining Mow, and more!
- Relaxing atmosphere to hang out with strong friends from around the country. So many interactions!
- Some past highlights: Charity raffles, fursuit parade, helpful erotica panels, intense poker tournament, meeting favorite authors, mustelid meetup, night dances, romantic walks near fireworks, Smash tournament
Fur Affinity: United - October 4 through October 6
- Smaller yet intimate and relaxing convention. Pleasant hotel, notably having an awesome koi pond!
- First time meeting Pepper Coyote and Fox Amoore, also buying lots of their albums
- Started conversations with indie artists, learning more about their works and websites
- Had amusing interactions with casual hotel visitors, who liked seeing fursuiters and other furries
- Some past highlights: Dramatic bingo, relaxing friend hangouts, rescue puppies, tasty local restaurants, wacky gift exchanges
Midwest FurFest - December 5 through December 8
- Largest furry convention and my personal favorite! Only thing I dislike is the freezing weather.
- Few restrictions on panel subjects, with multiple cultures, mature topics, identity panels, and more allowed. Great to see diverse backgrounds!
- Humongous marketplace and art rooms, with an absolutely fantastic amount of talented variety. I bought many things!
- Exciting convention themes that also raise extremely large charity amounts
- Chicago does indeed fit its stereotype of having excellent pizza
- Some past highlights: Arcade rooms, elegant bars, failing miserably at Rock Band vocals, Foxes and Peppers holiday concert, Leopardy, old friend hangouts, pup culture introduction panels, voice acting panel
That's all the furry conventions, and I hope to see lots of friends at any of them! Y'all are really awesome animal-people, so have a wonderful year!

Fur the 'More 2018 Meme
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! Guess who's going to Fur the 'More and didn't think to write up a quick journal entry until the last hour? Totally not me, of course... Well, actually, it's definitely me. But yeah, Glass and I will be going all three days, although we're not staying at a hotel room. This convention was the first furry convention that I ever went to, and I'm hoping for another relaxing weekend where I get to chat with plenty of friendly animal-people!
Here are my responses to some random questions about the convention, since it's a tradition for some attendees to do this.
"When are you getting there?"
Friday morning; I'll try to arrive before noon!
"Who are you rooming with?"
I live nearby, so I'm not rooming this year, although I plan to at future conventions!
"Name you're going by?"
Mello. My other ferret fursona is named Felix, but I usually go by Mello. I'll always be wearing a badge!
"Gender?"
Male.
"Age?"
I'm currently 24 years old.
"Relationship status?"
Taken by my delightfully wonderful boyfriend, Glass the Wolf!
"Where will you be most of the time?"
I wanna be more social this time, so I'll be casually walking around and trying to hang out with friends; I'm happy to chat with you too, if you want, and only if you're comfortable, of course! Otherwise, I'll be in the marketplace and attending a few random panels.
"How can I find you?"
Twitter and Telegram are good options if you can't find me; see my social media information for more details.
"Are you nice?"
For sure! I try really hard to be friendly around others! I'm anxious, but I try not to let that be too noticeable.
"Can I take your picture, and can I tweet about you?
You can, but I'd like you to ask me for permission first.
"If you wanna talk, then what do you wanna talk about?"
I like hearing about other people's creative projects and wanna help motivate them, but I'm up for discussing almost anything!
"Are you an artist?"
I don't draw, but I do occasionally write and would like to do that more in the future, so I call myself a writer. Also, you should talk to Glass, because he's a really talented artist who I hope to see more creative works from later; his drawings are absolutely adorable!
"Do you take commissions?"
I don't have the time and am bad with personal motivation, so I don't, but I'll look at your projects if you link me!
"Attending any parties?"
I'll be hanging out with friends, but I don't personally plan on drinking alcohol much while at conventions, if at all.
"How do I identify myself to you?"
I'm bad with putting online names to faces, but I'll probably remember you if you show me your fursona!
"Rules of engagement?"
Don't be a jerk, I guess, but I'm sure that you're really nice! I dunno, just be yourself!
"Personality type?"
I'm not really sure where I fall on the introvert versus extrovert spectrum, despite me writing Mello as an extroverted character. I like getting passionate when talking about creative topics, and I also enjoy having respectful discussions even if the subject matter is controversial, so long as nobody's being a jerk about it. Personally, I consider myself pretty friendly and wanna try my best to cheer people up, but please let me know if there are areas where I can improve! I do actively deal with anxiety, so if a stress-related conflict does come up, then please just clear it up with me right away; I significantly prefer resolving accidental misunderstandings right away rather than dwelling on them for days.
"How do I know if you're not looking to socialize?"
Unless I'm in a rush to head somewhere, I'm actually fine to socialize most of the time! I'll probably be in a corner on my phone if I'm feeling stressed out or wanna check social media, but I'll try not to that much.
If you're attending, then I hope that you have a wonderful time at the convention! Please let me know if you wanna say hello. And if you won't be there, then I still wish you an absolutely delightful and immensely positive weekend! Keep being awesome, y'all.

Con Reviews - Fur Affinity: United and Midwest FurFest
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone, I know that I haven't made a journal entry in a long time, and I don't really have a good excuse for that; I guess that I prefer social media and sharing thoughts in gallery submissions, but I wanted to briefly talk about the last two furry conventions that I attended, both of which were generally enjoyable and definitely worth going to. Some of my thoughts were already discussed in certain art uploads of mine, so I'll link to those later on, but I'll also share many more specifics here!
Fur Affinity: United - August 2017
Despite the smaller size, I actually find this specific convention extremely relaxing, and it's also great for hanging out with friends!
Panels that I attended:
- Bondage 101 (18+) - Covered basics of multiple forms of bondage, involved demonstrations, and discussed safety
- Majik Mystery Loot Brawl (18+) - Really amusing white elephant gift exchange with naughty yet silly prizes
- Foxes and Peppers Show - Extremely entertaining furry concert filled with a variety of energetic songs
- Charity Auction - Managed to win some old comics from this! All proceeds went to charity.
- Closing Ceremony - Several thousand dollars raised for Wolf Trap Animal Rescue this year
Artwork commissioned:
- Art Model Felix by Kaiju Coffee - Rated Mature
- Wizard Mello by L'Hiver
- Happy Mello Sketch by Studio Bliz
Some other highlights included:
- Casual hangouts with NOVAFurs friends
- Energetic fursuit parade
- The hotel's amazing fish pond
- Watching adorable puppies!
Midwest FurFest - December 2017
Midwest FurFest is currently the most attended furry convention in the world, and, despite recurring shyness, I had a really fun time this year!
Panels that I attended:
- Self-Publishing 101 - Limited not just to writing, but also projects in general, such as board games
- Foxes and Peppers Show - Involved a large group this time, with many instruments and talented performers
- Alkaline and Boozy Charity Show - Really entertaining! Involved lots of puns, furry culture jokes, and regretted alcohol stories.
- Writing: Discipline, Process, and Lifestyle - Attended to help my motivation problems, also learning about helpful environments
- Leopardy! - Glass and I managed to win second place! Boozy Badger and convention knowledge definitely helped.
- Writing: Erotica (18+) - Some highlights included Kyell Gold's explanation of how he edits or takes notes based on feedback from people of a different gender and/or sexuality than him, Joshiah's talks about how passion is a focus in his writing process, and perspective storytelling tips.
- Writing: Kinks and More (18+) - Mostly focused on commission-related aspects
Artwork commissioned:
- Felix - MFF Badge by Kalo
Some other highlights included:
- Accompanying Glass as he performed in his new wolf fursuit, which he built all on his own
- Exploring an absolutely gigantic marketplace filled with countless varieties of furry swag
- Meeting several cool artists like Jib Kodi, Kalo, Kaiju Coffee, Plushy Dog, and others
- Seeing many fursuiters and other friendly faces
- Talking with Joshiah, one of my favorite authors, and Roosles, his really friendly fiancé
- Winning multiple pieces of festive or slice-of-life artwork from an intense art show
Planned 2018 Conventions
Since I'm bad on here when it comes to warning others about upcoming furry conventions that I plan on attending, I'll list currently planned ones now! You can also follow me on social media, which is where I post most of my updates, but I'll make journal entries too.
- Fur the 'More
- Anthrocon
- Fur Affinity: United
- Midwest FurFest
Glass and I may decide to attend Biggest Little Fur Con instead of Anthrocon this time, but we're still thinking about that. Regardless, this year should be pretty fun, I'm increasingly optimistic, and I hope to meet more of y'all in the future! Have an excellent new year, everybody!

Anthrocon 2017 - Brief Summary
Posted 8 years agoHey everyone, I realize that I forgot to make a journal entry saying that I was going to Anthrocon this year, which would have been the first time that I've gone to that convention. Nonetheless, I had a generally relaxing time and met lots of people, so I just wanted to make a quick journal entry thanking everybody who showed up and was really friendly to hang out with. For anybody who wanted to say hello and I didn't meet, my sincere apologies for bad communications on my part, and I'll try to manage my time better at future conventions, also making journal entries like I did for Fur the 'More this year.
Some panels that I went to included:
- Agent Elrond's improvised and fun art sketch panel
- Anthrocon talent show, which was filled with magicians, singers, and other performers
- Mature and general art auctions, actually managing to win something in the latter
- Mustelid meetup (surprisingly, most attendees were otters, with only a few ferrets present)
- Slice-of-life discussion panel (important topic for me regarding future Mello stories)
- Writing basics panel, which I took lots of helpful notes during
Other events included, but are not limited to:
- Browsing a massive marketplace, including meeting a new erotica author (for those interested, I definitely recommend checking out a fun compilation of his called Boys Only sometime) and talking to many talented artists
- Seeing extremely talented art galleries, including buying some emotionally moving artwork
- Somehow winning third place in a poker tournament that lasted for more than five hours
- Talking to many friendly furries, both familiar and new; y'all are extremely lovely people
- Walking around the seriously inviting and pretty-looking Pittsburgh
Feel free to also check out my social media accounts to see some pictures, as well as to find out about some specific fursuiters who I met. Anyway, I don't have much else to say other than I'll try to write more about future conventions that I'm attending, which currently include Fur Affinity: United and Midwest FurFest. Y'all have a lovely week, and keep being really awesome like you already are! ^_^

New Felix Descriptions + Writing Updates
Posted 8 years agoRemember a few months ago when I finished a smaller writing project involving Mello? I rewrote every single one of his art posts to have newer and more elaborate descriptions, also having them all written from his first-person perspective and sometimes including mini-stories. It was a generally fun thing to do, and I hope that it made my gallery more interesting while also expanding Mello's overall character more.
Well, I also finished doing something similar for all of Felix's gallery entries, including his scraps, although these description updates aren't from his perspective since I felt that they'd get pretty repetitive due to... certain recurring themes. Instead, I just tried making them more elaborate, improving the formatting, and fleshing out Felix's character more. Feel free to comment on any of those entries if you'd like, but this was mostly just a fun personal project. Also, if you don't mind the not-safe-for-work themes, Felix's second story is also up, and I hope that you check it out! Positive feedback and constructive criticism are really appreciated, and thanks either way!
Besides that, Mello still has his first two slice-of-life short stories, and I have an old outline for a third entry in his series, although said outline needs to be redone and expanded on. My next writing project will be finishing the introduction trilogy to Mello's general character, with Felix's third and planned story being on hold until afterwards. I'm slow when it comes to working on projects, but I'll have something eventually!
Thanks to anybody who follows my Fur Affinity account, and I hope that y'all have awesome weeks. Keep rocking on, you wonderful creatures!

Fur the 'More 2017 Meme
Posted 8 years agoI'll be at Fur the 'More next weekend, and I'm extremely excited for it! It comes at a perfect time too; I'm getting really stressed out by work and some other things, so it'll be really nice to relax and say hello to awesome furry friends. Glass and I are going together, so he'll also be there!
Also, there's apparently a convention meme thing or something, so here are my answers to most of its questions.
"When are you getting there?"
Friday morning; I'll be there before noon as long as the parking isn't bad!
"Who are you rooming with?"
I'm driving home each day to save money this year; it's not far from where I live.
"Name you're going by?"
Mello.
"Gender?"
Male.
"Age?"
23, almost 24 years old.
"Relationship status?"
Taken by my amazing boyfriend, Glass the Wolf!
"How tall are you?"
I haven't checked in a while, but I'm probably somewhere around 6' 2".
"Where will you be most of the time?"
In terms of convention events, I'll be going to at least several writing panels as well as some other fun panels like the charity auction and transformation one. Besides that, I'll most likely be hanging around the marketplace or catching up with friends.
"How can I find you?"
Twitter and Telegram are good options if you can't find me; see my social media information for more details.
"Are you nice?"
Absolutely! I'll try to be really friendly! Excuse the occasional nervousness though.
"Can I take your picture?"
Yes, but I would prefer that you ask me for my permission first.
"Can I give you stuff?"
I mean, you really don't need to, but sure, if you'd like!
"If you wanna talk, what do you wanna talk about?"
I'm very interested in talking about things related to creativity, like art projects and writing, but I'm up for almost anything really!
"Are you an artist?"
If writing counts, then yes! I don't draw though, but Glass is a really great artist who you could talk to!
"Do you take commissions?"
I'm already really slow with my writing as it is, so I don't take writing commissions. I'll look at your projects if you link me though!
"Attending parties?"
With friends, sure, but I don't plan on drinking this year; in fact, please stop me if I plan on having any alcohol. Not judging other friends though!
"Do you dance?"
I'm a really bad dancer, but I'll try it for fun, sure.
"Do you drink?"
I used to, but now I only sometimes have a glass at family gatherings or extremely occasionally with friends. At conventions? I don't plan on it.
"Can I buy you a drink?"
Nothing alcoholic and I'd like to see it closed. But honestly, you really don't have to! If anything, I'd more likely ask to buy you something.
"How do I identify myself to you?"
Just let me see or know what your fursona is, because I'm not always great at putting online names to faces.
"Rules of engagement?"
Just be nice, and that's about it! There's not a lot that bothers me.
"Personality type?"
When I get passionate about a creative topic, I get really into it and am happy with having discussions. Otherwise, I like to think that I'm a pretty social and relaxing person to be around. I sometimes get kind of anxious, which I try my best to control, but I'll probably be fine that weekend!
"How do I know if you're not looking to socialize?"
I'm fine to socialize most of the time! Unless I'm in a rush to get somewhere, I don't want to turn anybody else away, so feel free to say hello!
Thanks for reading this, and hopefully I'll see you at some point! Feel free to comment if you're attending the convention!

Poem - Felix in the Woods
Posted 8 years agoLate at night, I’m in the woods
No one watching, got the goods
Wind is blowing, air feels nice
To the logs, I’ll bring some spice
Kind of cold and empty too
Words of crimes from foxes few
Gregg gave notice, he’s a goof
Fun tales though, and he showed proof
Angus had a funny face
I wonder if he knew this place
Mae just laughed and rocked the bass
Except for that one disgrace
Paw in shorts, I take out pics
Seek a log that’s near some sticks
Log hole found, I took its stuff
Replaced that with something rough
This one’s good; I’ll have some fun
Think at home until I’m done
Time to start the journey home
Hard to see, my monochrome
Area’s fenced, I wonder why?
If cops ask, I’ll just be sly
Through my lens, with stars as guide
Might be lost somewhere outside
Oh, look there, I found the town
Local bar is further down
Friends might like what I have got
Net’s been down, so these are sought
Rumors true, the logs were used
Thinking now, I’m quite amused
...I have needs, and storms cutting the power won’t stop me...
No one watching, got the goods
Wind is blowing, air feels nice
To the logs, I’ll bring some spice
Kind of cold and empty too
Words of crimes from foxes few
Gregg gave notice, he’s a goof
Fun tales though, and he showed proof

Poem - Mello Eats an Orange
Posted 8 years agoA basket of fresh fruits
The bowl filled with sweets
I peek toward the middle
And find some fresh treats
One black paw behind me
Another in front
When nobody’s looking
I start my new stunt
My long tail is shaking
Through green shorts brand new
I gaze through matching eyes
To learn others flew
Dark brown hair brushed forward
Front fur coat displayed
Witnesses have all gone
As citrus scents swayed
I rush to the clean wood
And nab me an orange
My senses are tingling
...But what rhymes with orange?
The sharp peel is pulled back
As saliva falls
Scents tingle my nostrils
While my fangs make calls
Some acid hits my mask
And I start to dook
I clean off the black fur
Right after that spook
The orange in my hands now
Bright peels on the ground
No seeds to be spotted
On this fruit so round
My black claws pushed in it
I charge forth my face
A bite is then taken
Without any grace
...Fresh oranges are so tasty, and juicy, and the rest are mine now...
The bowl filled with sweets
I peek toward the middle
And find some fresh treats
One black paw behind me
Another in front
When nobody’s looking
I start my new stunt
My long tail is shaking
Through green shorts brand new
I gaze through matching eyes

Journal from Mello - Descriptions Updated
Posted 8 years agoHi everyone, it's Mello the Ferret here! Thanks for checking out my Fur Affinity page, and I hope that you have a really lovely day!
I just wanted to share that I finished a mini-project where I went through all my received artwork, specifically featuring yours truly, and rewrote the descriptions with my perspective. There's some expansion on contexts and stories of what I was doing during lots of the pictures, and I tried to provide some more background about myself too. Anyway, it was a fun idea that I've been working on for a little while, and I hope that they flesh me out more.
I'll ask Felix to later update his artwork that's on here; I'm sure he'll be able to share some wacky descriptions of his own mischievous adventures. After that's done, the next writing project will be another naughty story featuring that silly goof, and they should also line up closely to my short stories in terms of timeline; a third one's planned for me, and I have it outlined, but Felix deserves some more attention first. He has other planned ideas too.
Anyway, have a fantastic weekend. I'll try to think of some other journal ideas too, maybe a mini-game review or something... We'll see! Talk to ya later!
