Posted 3 months agoJust a quick FYI that am MIA for more or less the entirety of June; so don't take it personally if I don't reply in the next month.
Or do, if you need the entertainment I guess, lol
But am not taking in any commissions or replying to any inquiries during this time
Hope your June goes smooth!

DamnEvilDog remembrance stream
Posted 8 months agoHey guys,
Idk why, it's not -yet- the 10 year anniversary of
damnevildog's passing, but I guess I just miss him.
So I really feel like keeping his memory alive by streaming colouring his work and just talking about him, if there's anyone around to listen, or chat.
So I'm bookmarking the 25th of December, maybe also the 26th (we'll see) to just stream on & off colouring his works, or maybe doing some fanart of his characters, like Purple, Blackberry, Grey, etc.
So if you know who I'm talking about and can spare some time to remember an artist who has passed but is not forgotten, it'd be nice. ♥
https://picarto.tv/Memokkeen will be the spot and there's no specific time - I'll announce it on the 25th, maybe give another heads up on the 24th if I can figure out my time.
Anyways, thanks, and see you there?

Posted 9 months agoHi!
So last Tuesday, my dog during her dental surgery just pooped out blood. Like, half of her tiny bodyweight in blood and poo.
So they had to cancel her dental, wake her up, and request I come get her and rush her to a pet hospital for an IV drip and observation as they were not equipped to handle these extremes.
Sooo, that's what I did. It cost A LOT. I'm basically cleaned out, maxed out my credit, alladat.
And we'll have to try the dental again at the hospital right before Christmas. Looking forward to throwing my next paycheck at that. >n>"
All this to say - normally I can handle my day-to-day and even medical care for my three pets.
This month, I can't.
So... if anyone could find it in their heart to even buy like a bust chibi sketch for 10 euros or something, it'd help at least put food on the table for the next three weeks?
(major thanks to Haruka for stepping up, btw ♥)
And if you can't help, I understand Thanksgiving + Christmas is a rough, rough time in general financially for all, so even spreading the word helps;
https://bsky.app/profile/memokkeen....../3lbwnjkb6p22v
Thanks for your time, and may your end of the year be more relaxing than mine!
Ps. the dog is recovering nicely, she a trooper but holy shit did she give me a fright

Heyoo! I updated this piece, take a look? ♥
Posted 11 months agoYeah so instead of uploading a new piece, I updated this one; https://www.furaffinity.net/view/54629140/
Here's the comparison how it changed/improved from the 1st posting:
https://memokkeen.tumblr.com/post/7.....fixed-her-face
Also, the voice actor for The Dark Urge Neil Roberts saw & liked my Durge fanart, how cool is that!? ♥
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58241293/
Uhh. What else. RIGHT!
I made an AO3 account because BG3 (*cough*Astarion*cough*) has ruined me and apparently I write fanfics now. Am working on a long-running series and I want a bit of a backlog before I start hopefully posting and updating on a regular schedule. So if you like to read, feel free;
https://archiveofourown.org/users/Memokkeen/works
Am finally after - *checks calendar* .... FIVE YEARS(?! XD) looking at signing up for conventions again, so you may or may not see me somewhere, sometime, somehow!
Am drowning in BG3 stickers so hopefully I'll get these sold somewhere, haha.
So if you wanna fund my hobby, please do commission me, all funds are being used to print more stickers/prints/merch at this point. Hoping to make it to a con and to actually make a profit so I can keep making stuff. =u= ♥

Open for sketch commissions
Posted a year agoHi!
I really like the sketchy stuff I've churned out as of late, so I figured I could offer them as commissions.
Busts 12€ per character
Samples:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/57416209/
(NSFW) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/57404300/
18€ waist up
(NSFW) https://www.furaffinity.net/view/57393482/
25€ for a fullbody
(no sample in this specific format)
I may add 2-5 euros per character to the price if I feel the design is challenging for me to work on.
These are also not first come first serve - I'll be selecting what I like.
Also, no-input. What you get is what you get!
If interested, leave a comment!

2024 Musings
Posted a year agoHi!
First off, still selling YCHs if you're interested:
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10754662/
But, onto the non-important thinky-tank stuff.
How are you? Who's still here?
I don't know about you guys, but it does feel like a lot of people have just disappeared. There's so many alternatives for social media these days, it feels really hard to reach anyone anymore since everyone is in their little niche hidey holes. Remember when everyone was on deviantArt?
Sometimes I miss all the chats, conversations and commentary... well, community I used to have here.
It's always nice to have a tribe and place to belong.
I've also thought a lot about what can I do about this. And I think, you get what you give. Like, if you never speak to anyone, and if all you talk about is being bitterly angry when you do... that's the vibe you're putting out into the universe, and that is the vibe you'll get back. I've had to give a lot of thought what happened to me last year and why didn't I like someone anymore that for a very long time, was important.
The issue is rot. Decay.
Giving out constant negativity and hostility... You get what you give.
This isn't the forum for it really, but outside art and the Internet, I do martial arts. And as a part of that, occasional meditation. I've got friends who meditate much more than I do, and they seem more peaceful and happy. I've thought about why.
And I think, you have to give time to get time. If you give yourself time to calm down, you will have calm to give. Through giving yourself time and peace, you will see clearer what brings you joy and what takes it away. If your mental state is equivalent to a constantly open wound, you will lash out in pain. You will behave like you feel. You are what you do and if you treat others poorly, or don't interact with them at all... that's the vibe you give out, and that's the vibe you will get. If all you give to someone else is negativity, they will see you as a source of negativity.
We're all here learning, and trying to make the best of it. What I guess I'm trying to say is, I'm grateful if you've spent any time on my art, grateful if you're still here reading, and I'll try be more involved to get people more involved, because I do kinda miss that. ♥
... even if on some level, just being a doofus on Baldur's Gate 3 with that one buddy is enough for me most of the time, lol.

Musings 2023
Posted 2 years agoAs most people my age, I've been on the Internet for over 15 years.
That's about half my lifespan.
It's interesting to look back and think about how much I have changed in that time and how much the web itself changed, too.
I used to be much more active in here. The reason was that I was really lonely and bullied in real life. Truly misunderstood.
So I put my real self on the web because, despite all proof to the contrary, I believed the person I was, was worth someone's kindness and friendship.
I know some people come online to be loved for some persona they created; and that's not wrong either. But in the end, you're still lonely and wondering if you'd been rejected if you were just you. I've seen that go down too... In some way, I've always been tenacious and hard-headed to believe I have to have value as I am, I have to have beauty as I am.
I made many amazing friendships here.
I also met a lot of people I never want to hear anything about again.
But mostly, through it all I found what I was looking for - confirmation I am lovable and worth someone's time as I am.
Nowadays I'm pretty quiet online, sans my friends whom I talk to.
I'm kinda busy enjoying my life. I'm neither lonely or sad anymore. ♥
Life has been such a wild ride. I'm over 30 now. 9 years ago, I was so sure I'd be dead by 28. Going on bonus time, and everything's pretty great.
Can't wait to see what's next. So many dreams and plans, so little fear.
I hope whoever reads all the way here, manages to build themselves a life they can look at with a smile. ♥

2022 Life Updates, Commissions & Art Trades
Posted 3 years agoHi there!
Been a hot minute.
Seemingly last I wrote my dad has cancer over a year ago... well, it got removed, but then it came back some months later, and he died in July.
I am... obviously devastated, but okay.
Starting to come back to being artsy after the initial shock and completed my last commission (very late)!
I've finally cleared out my commission queue, and think in September (next week) I'll be ready to take up new commissions.
I'll make another announcement once I'm open again!
I also feel I could try get some creative juices flowing and experiment freely via art trades!
Link me to some of your work you'd be willing to trade if you're interested. ♥

Posted 4 years agoHeyo!
All my pets are old but alive and well after the start of the year, hoo boy did that make a dent in my finances.
Moving this week
Work is hectic
Sailing season is starting, she goes into the water in two weeks!
My dad has been diagnosed with cancer.
Trying to stay positive ;u;"
That's... about it for now. Commissions are sort of open, but am kinda art blocky so am not asking or advertising at the moment.
Super grateful for the continued interest, though!

Pet medical bills - help with Ko-FI tips? ♥
Posted 4 years agoHi all!
2021 started off with a scare - last Tuesday my cat's eye got really red, swollen and leaky. So I rushed him to the local pet hospital. That was about 200 euros.
Wednesday evening, I noticed one of my dogs limping on our last walk out - on closer inspection, her paw was bleeding into the snow. Took her in, gently washed her paw - noticed one of her nails had a hairline crack that was bleeding. Bandaged her up & messaged my vet tech buddy who confirmed there is no other way to fix that but put her under and remove the nail from where it cracked - that was another 190 euros, gone.
And the only planned thing was on Thursday evening, my oldest who needed a blood test to renew her thyroid medicine. Except, the vet also noticed a lump on her stomach that probably is a tumor (without taking a biopsy, can't say for sure). So she had to have some extra bloodwork done on her - that was over 280 euros.
Plus, all their meds for all these different ailments.
So I blew through over 700 euros in 3 days for 3 pets. >.>"
I had to borrow a few hundred from my dad to cover it all, and am currently looking at 0 on my account for the rest of the month.
Plus I need to throw another 400-800 euros to surgically remove the potentially cancerous lump my dog has... >_>"
SO!
If anyone wants to commission me for sketchy monochrome busts like these
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40075316/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40070119 (NSFW)
for Ko-Fi tips as to not stress myself out too much, I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Quick turnaround times!
Will try stream in the evenings for these!
Shoutouts and retweets etc appreciated!
Thanks for caring & hope your 2021 didn't start out as rocky,
Mims ♥
Ps. All three are currently fine and/or healing well!

Open for coms, trades, collabs + how r u?
Posted 5 years agoHey all, so the same ol' same ol' singsong, I'm open for commissions,
My prices as well as terms and conditions can be found here: Leads you to a neat Google Doc presentation of my art etc! ♥
But besides that I'm a bit curious to maybe trade or collab on art with people if there are any takers?
I mean I might just pass on everything, depends a bit if anything offered feels like something fun for me to do ouo ♥
You can note me if you're interested!
Also, how is everyone doing?
(can note me/PM me on other media if you don't wanna talk publicly via journal comments, is coo')
The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed how we interact with each other and warped our plans for 2020.
There's a bunch of travelling and events I was planning on doing that are now null and void.
But idk. I kinda... like growing older? Or I dunno what it is. But I am less worried, anxious and stressed, more calm and able to laugh and push through... anything?
I like that about myself.
I'm turning 30 in December and I... like myself.
What a wild thing to write and honestly mean.
There's a lot of noise and chaos personally as well as in the world out there, but I am navigating in acceptable ways to myself. =u=
There's bad things about me but I work on those parts of me that bother me.
And there's good things I try recognise and cherish.
Like that fact that I care about my communities.
So, yanno.
Really, how are you? I'll take some time and talk witchu if you're feeling lonely ♥

The problem with anthology/zine projects.
Posted 5 years agoRather spontaneously, I realised I know a bit about putting together a zine or anthology and how there isn't a lot of information out there about what happens behind the scenes.
But there seems to be a lot of opinions and ideas on how it SHOULD be, and we run into upset people when your imagined view meets with reality.
So let's talk a bit about what I know.
First off, there is a difference (should at least be??) with a business/company running an anthology vs your average (private) person. Companies SHOULD have proper funding and actually pay the people they employ to create the work they commission. I've not worked for an actual company when it comes to anthology-making, so I can't guarantee it is this way (wouldn't be surprised if it also was shady AF and just for ~exposure~). Furthermore, I assume the contracts are more legally binding, and harder to get away from. ( // *glares at Disney* )
This isn't the arena I know about.
What I DO know about, both as producer and a participant, is freelance (private person) creation of anthologies/zines.
Let's say you want to make a 30-page zine with 30 people, and pay them, say, 100$ for their artwork.
30 x 100$ = 3000$, which we can all agree the average person usually doesn't have lying around to give, right?
So the 1st problem you run into as a freelancer putting together a project, is funding.
It's a moral dilemma, because you as a poor freelancer yourself are aware that your time and effort is worth money
but you also don't have the money to be fair to the people you're asking to participate in your project.
There also isn't any set rules or ways as to HOW one should run a project.
There are some people I know of that have produced anthologies by making the people who participate agree that if they get accepted into the anthology project, they must buy a set amount of copies of the anthology. So not only are you working for free, you actually have to PAY to get the anthology made. So you are losing money, on top of time and effort to be a part of a project.
That's insane, right?
You do get to keep all the profits of any copies of the anthology you've bought you end up selling, but if you had to buy big quantities and ended up participating in something that people don't want to buy, again; problems.
But with this method, you guarantee the book you made will physically exist, at the expense of everyone working on it.
You prioritise the product over the people you work with.
Some people make their anthologies/zines 100% charity only.
So no one working on it makes any money (just enough to cover your expenses; printing, etc), and that's a good way to avoid any legal disputes if you work with fanart. ( // *glares at Disney again* )
You basically get exposure / the joy of participating in something you believed in.
I knew nothing of how these things worked when I decided to put together my anthology project. I basically made my system from scratch.
My system is such that regardless of getting funded, everyone participating always retains rights to their own contributions + the anthology as a whole. So it is up to each participant to decide will they themselves resell the product digitally or create physical prints to sell - but they won't lose money in being forced to buy copies, or they will not gain anything at all because it was a charitable project; there's at least a chance for profit without investing money.
The contract for participating is also very flexible; you leave whenever you like, and you keep the rights to your art, and we won't hold onto it; if you leave before we've gone into print. Otherwise, it belongs to our collective (but you always have the rights to your own contribution in any case).
Should the project get funded, I've created a tip-jar system that at each stretch goal met (using Kickstarter as our crowdfunding platform) divvies up the profit between all participants. This means that while the actual monetary payout won't be large, unlike these other ways of running anthologies I've seen freelancers do, you do actually get at least SOMETHING. And it is guaranteed even if the project isn't successful that you
1. don't have to pay to participate
2. get something to show you worked on something publishable
3. can make money, depending on how much you want to put into it yourself.
Another thing I noticed can be a problem is producing/editing/critique.
I've heard that sometimes there is too many "bosses", and they cannot decide their direction or guide their artists. I've heard horror stories of everything getting accepted and hitting set deadlines, and when you're almost done, final deadline; the people running the show ask for huge changes that take a lot of work and time that would've been so much easier to tackle in the early stages of the project - had they just said so. There is a fear of being harsh. If you lead, you are responsible for keeping track that everyone reaches whatever the goal you've set is, and you can't blame the artist working for you if you haven't given them support and direction. To be on the top, you have to be decisive. This is also a problem if you ask people to commit by buying into the product you're creating, if you can't lead it into being something that actually sells.
I've lead groups of +30 people with myself and one other person. I've seen projects with 12 people being lead by 5 - there is no point in having so many people making exec decisions, especially if they don't make the necessary decisions.
My way isn't the right way and I'm not saying these other ways of producing anthologies/zines is wrong either. There literally is no right or wrong way, or a guide or how-to.
But what I am saying is, we all would like to get paid for our work in some shape way or form, and I'd love to have a discussion and build systems of creation that give back to the creators.
There's pros and cons into everything.
That's my 2 cents on that matter.

Posted 5 years agoOh hey btw I will attend Nordic Fuzzcon in February, see y'all in Malmö!
Uhh.
So I'm starting the 20s single after a +6 year relationship, haha.
My life's a bit of a mess right now.
But I'll manage... just.. hmm. Art blocked? Kinda?
Trying to rearrange my life.
I'm back in my home country. I got a job. So these things are good.
Still roomies with the ex because well, circumstance. XD
Dislike my job so am looking to get into school to AT LEAST get a job I hate that pays better, if not a job that pays better that I actually enjoy.
Apparently I'm having a midlife crisis, according to some. I DUNNO. Maybe?
I'm just very tired and trying my best to keep things together.
Sorry for not being around much. I'm trying. ♥

Still alive!
Posted 6 years agoHey!
Week 3 already?? of living in Finland again. Things are slowly coming together, I've my computer and drawing tools on me again; but tables and storage for my tools are still in the works, haha
I'm hoping to get back into streaming and art soon, but there's just a never-ending stream of things to fix when it comes to every day living and the apartment, I am too busy or tired right now. XD"
I've been to a bunch of work interviews that have gone well, so hopefully I'll have a job by next week!!
It's been super nice to live in the vicinity of friends and family again, like I can legit go and see someone right now with my monthly bus ticket?? I don't have to save up 300$ and plan ahead 3 weeks and take a weekend and try see everyone all at once, WHAT IS THIS LUXURY xD
Things are hectic and there's a constant stream of things to tackle, but I'm happy. ♥
That's all for now. =u=

Moving out of the country - coms closing for now!
Posted 6 years agoHey all!
I'm moving back to my home country in a week, actually!
And my computer & drawing tools (minus the iPad, huhu) will not be coming directly with me. My stuff will be transported after me at a later date.
(which is still a bit uncertain when exactly)
I've got one last NSFW com for kzbcavemanfti in the works, and until I figure out something workable to do just with the iPad, I'm closing coms.
I've got a lot of stuff to set up and fix in my new apartment in Finland, so it might be real quiet from me for awhile.
We will see, I'll focus on fixing up my life first, art/coms then.
Unless coms become my only income source... again "orz
Those of you on my Discord server, will probably get more signs of life out of me. xP
I'm not running the Invisible Illness campaign alone, and my partner in crime Sofie will take care of any and all things I'm unable at this time - meaning everything should run smoothly with that, despite these changes!
We're 91% funded, how cool is that!? ♥
We even got featured by Kickstarter. ♥♥
Check the campaign here: http://kck.st/2no11b0
And we have daily updates on our contributing artists on our website: https://www.iianthologies.com/

Invisible Illness: Depression live on Kickstarter!
Posted 6 years agoHey everyone!
Last year I spearheaded Invisible Illness: Anxiety and successfully used Kickstarter to fund the creation of the book!
This year, we're back with a new crew and a new book about depression!
We've been live for one day but we're already over 600$ and 25 backers strong!
Please check out the campaign: https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....ess-depression
We'll also be bringing back our daily artist spotlights, this time on our website instead of Kickstarter updates, here:
https://www.iianthologies.com/
Our artists will be posting their work all over social media during the campaign, and through the interviews you can get some insight into what drove them to work with this project, and what were their inspirations behind their works.
Exciting times!! ♥

Open for commissions!
Posted 6 years agoHi!
I'm still open for commissions, my prices are affordable and turn out times are fast! ;u; ♥
I got 3orders left, they'll be done within 2 weeks!
Then I've got nothing, but I still need money for groceries at this point. So any help is welcome!
Here's some quick samples of my commissions:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32634312/
Here's some things I've finished lately:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32923198/ telegram stickers
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32810119/ chibi
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32731987/ shoujo portrait
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/32250273/ NSFW !
But please refer to my full set of terms and conditions as well as a wider ranger of sample art!
And technically speaking, as long as it's not a collaborative piece, anything in my gallery is negotiable for commissioning; I'll just set a price for it at my discretion.
In any case, shoutouts or commissions would help a lot right now!
Thank you.
