After so many years here on FA, I felt it was time to start consolidating all my accounts across platforms/sites under a single, more professional/less fursona based name. This wasn't an easy decision for me to make and I've actually been stalling about doing this for quite a while... I feel it's an important move to make, however, as I start looking to the future and consider opening for various types of commissions when I am able to do so. Basically, if you'd like to get a holiday card from me I'll be glad to send one out in exchange for one from you! Just note me with your name (real or furry if you'd prefer!) and address and I will send you mine in return -- it's as easy as that! This is not restricted to US residents only either -- I'd be more than happy to exchange cards with anyone anywhere in the world! General | Posted 7 years agoI'm excited to announce (a bit late because I've been crazy busy LOL XP) that my husband and I will be going back to Anthrocon this year!!! We really missed it last year and I've already booked our hotel! Can't wait to go back to Pittsburgh and have fun with all our furry friends there! We missed you all! SO excited for the surf Pacific theme too! Anyone who knows me knows I'm absolutely in LOVE with the beach, the ocean, and the tropics, so this is definitely a theme I can get behind! I'm currently starting work on Elentári's fursuit and plan to have at least a partial of her done in time for her big debut at Anthrocon, and both she and Lucky will be sporting some tropical themed garb especially for the occasion! I'm so excited! I can't wait!
Unfortunately as AC tends to be more on the expensive side we've decided to attend only the one convention this year so we don't need to worry as much about the financial aspects; sadly that means we will not be attending Furnal Equinox. We are truly going to miss all our friends at FE and we send you all our love! We've been going to FE for so many years now that it tears me apart not to see all of my friends there... But I love you all and if any of you can make it to Anthrocon you can bet I'll give you all the biggest hugs!

Nova's and Echo's Backstories Both Up!
General | Posted 7 years agoThis message is more for anyone using the SFW filter, so you can ignore it if you're not! I posted both Nova's and Echo's backstories up here a while ago but it dawned on me that because I rated them M for mature due to the battle sequences and mention of death etc. that anyone using the SFW filter won't see them... XP I wasn't sure if they should be rated G (after all, the Mega Man X Legacy Collections 1 and 2 are both rated T for teen even though the original ratings for the games AND the PS2 Mega Man X Collection were all rated E for everyone... I guess the ratings systems are getting harsher???) so I felt like I needed to play it safe... If I've rated these incorrectly and you think a G rating would be fine, please let me know and I'll change it! I just didn't want to rate them wrong and get in trouble by mistake. In any case, the stories aren't THAT violent (no more than the X games themselves in any case) and are certainly not gory, so if anyone would like to give them a read you'll just need to turn off your SFW filter then you can find the stories here:

Wherever the mood takes me, LOL! Seriously though, I'm NOT impressed with the schedule this year AT ALL so I'll probably just be hanging out with friends the whole con. I see nothing else worth doing so far... Probably a LOT of Dealer's Den shopping because what else is there to do really? We'll see.
What panels/events do you plan to attend?
Since there's basically NOTHING good going on, the only events I can guarantee I'll be going to will be the dance competition (to watch) and Uncle Kage's Charity hour since APPARENTLY I have to pick between that and the masquerade!!! Who the heck made THAT scheduling choice?! Wanted to see both, but apparently I can't. Since we aren't going to Anthrocon this year this will be my only opportunity to see Uncle Kage... So unless we decide to go to the masquerade instead, I'll be laughing at Uncle Kage. Can't promise I'll bother watching the fursuit games this year either; if they pull the same nonsense as last year and make everyone sit on the ground then I'm out. I'm handicapped -- THAT HURTS. And you can't see all the teams, only the one directly in front so it's not even worth TRYING to cheer for any other... I'd participate in the games but unless I brought Bizzy for that purpose only I don't think I can squeeze a Boov through a tiny hoop so Fizzy can't really play... And I'm not even going to bother with the "Furry Fiesta" nonsense room unless it's the only way to get my fursuiter badge -- in which case you can probably expect me to show up for all of five seconds, get my badge, and walk right out again. NOT interested. NOT a good substitute for a fursuit parade, sorry. Soooooooo yeah. I have TWO events I can count on going to this year and a LOT of nothing in between. DEFINITELY frustrated/NOT HAPPY.

Looks Like I'm Going to Furpocalypse 2017! :D
General | Posted 8 years agoSo there's been a last minute change in plans and thanks to the generosity of my brother and sister in law who've kindly offered to let me stay with them it looks like Fizzy will be going to Furpocalypse 2017! My hubby buzzybeak insisted I get out and have some fun while he's in Antarctica (so he won't be going, sadly) and this way I get to see my friends AND family! Looking forward to having some Halloween fun with all my furry friends!!! Who else will be there to scare up some fun with the Boov?

General | Posted 8 years agoThe hubby and I will be attending Anthrocon this week! SO EXITED!!! AC is going to be Lucky's big debut (I'll try to post a photo of him when he's completed if I can do so from my phone, but check my Instagram for WIP photos and video when he's done!) so look out for the Boov and her Shire Horse if you're going to be there! This year we will be celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary as well (Sunday, July 2) and would be happy to hang out with any friends who might be there! If you don't mind baseball games and will be in Pittsburgh by Wednesday or Thursday we plan to go to a Pirates game if anyone wants to go along (just be aware the tickets are a bit pricey and we plan to get good seats)! If you're going to AC we look forward to seeing you there!

I'm so sorry I haven't been very active here on FA lately, but with everything I've been busy with offline I just haven't had much time to sit down at my computer. It's much easier for me to post to Instagram from my phone, so I've become rather active on there. I post my art to IG (don't worry though, art posts get posted here too), fursuit photos (Fizzy has quite a few on IG!), WIP pics, occasional sketches, photos of my cats, nature, scenery, and all sorts of things! I expect to be busy offline for at least the next few months while I desperately try to get Lucky finished in time for Anthrocon while juggling real estate and all the other things Life likes to throw at me, so if you'd like to see what I'm up to and see fursuit photos etc. before they're posted here, please follow me on Instagram -- username FizzyBoov! I'm at Furnal Equinox with my hubby buzzybeak and my awesome friends solitarygraywolf and techwolf83, staying in the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel (the main hotel/convention center), and looking forward to having lots of fun with all my furry friends!!! I will be suiting as Fizzy the Boov! Bizzy and Buzzy the penguins are not here this year, sorry! *Ducks and dodges thrown vegetables* Buzzy wasn't feeling quite up to suiting and I really want to wear the suit I made and truly love. So if you see me in suit or out of it (I'll be wearing my green and orange Boov tunic either way) please feel free to come up and say hi, give me hugs, take photos, and whatever! Look forward to seeing you all!

General | Posted 9 years agoI had planned to try to get my birthday video edited together this week, but my cat, Omari, had his first seizure and with all the worry and everything around that I just didn't have the time. I will be attending Anthro New England (ANE) this weekend and picking up my hubby from the airport on Monday (he's FINALLY coming home from Antarctica!) so I won't be able to get a chance to do any editing for a little while. It will be done though! Just wanted to give you a heads up why there was a delay. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I have a bunch of friends coming to celebrate with me and throughout the day-long party I'll be taking video of the festivities that I will be splicing into a music video to put up on YouTube to share with all of you!

We all know that we all live in different areas of the country/world and can't always make it to visit our friends for things like this, but that doesn't mean you can't be included in the fun! If you have a birthday wish or message for me, draw it out (if you want to include my characters, any of them are fine, just remember SFW!), take a photo, make a video -- you can be in fursuit if you've got one or not at all, doesn't matter -- and link me to it and I'll include it in my video! :D That's right, you heard me -- you don't have to be here to be in my birthday video! Anyone who wishes me well on my birthday makes me feel GREAT and helps make my day just THAT much more special, so anyone who sends me a special birthday wish like this will be included in the fun! General | Posted 9 years agoSorry I'm a little late on this; this past week was just crazy busy for me, but I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and a wonderfully Happy New Year! May this new year be a prosperous and joyous one for you all!
If anyone has any New Year's resolutions they would like to share, be sure to leave them in the comments below! As for myself, my New Year's resolution is to really try to make this gluten free thing work somehow without breaking the bank and hopefully find a way to do it that won't make me so miserable. Considering how hard this will be for me to do (and how easy this would be for me to just quit), I think this will certainly be a challenging resolution to keep, but one that would hopefully help me in the long run! XP

Send Me Your Prayers/Positive Vibes/Healing Energy/Whatever
General | Posted 9 years agoSo I have found over the years that Life basically thinks I'm fun to mess with. Any time I think things might start going my way or get better, inevitably something comes along to beat me down again and destroy that hope. Poppy's song, "Get Back Up Again," from the Trolls film has basically been my mantra my whole life because it's all I know how to do. Life beats me down and I get back up again. I keep trying. I keep moving forward as best I can. And I get beaten down again. And again. And again. And again... And it looks like it might be about to happen again... And in the worst way possible.
As many of you might know, the last few years have been exceedingly difficult for me as I've had to deal with first the injury of my right ankle (bone spur cutting into the Achilles tendon) and then the reality of being handicapped after the surgery to remove the spur causing it. Although everything healed perfectly, there is now scar tissue creating the same interference as the spur did -- only scar tissue won't cut through the tendon, so I'm still better off. On top of that, I wrecked my opposing (left) knee during the recovery phase after the surgery while I couldn't walk on my right ankle and though I was able to get the knee back to a semi-OK state with physical therapy it is still far from perfect. This has left me with two bad legs -- a bad ankle on one and a bad knee on the other.
And now it looks like my only GOOD ankle might be having the exact same problem the other one did.
My left ankle has been hurting me lately in the exact same place the right one had and in all the same ways... I'm having trouble with stairs, with walking... It's sporadic at the moment but seems to be getting worse instead of better. It's the exact same pattern the right one took before that fateful morning when I woke up unable to walk at all and my world shattered... My aunt had the same thing happen to her, first one ankle got the spur, then the other and she had to have surgery on both. Now I'm terrified that might be happening to me too, and I don't know what I'm going to do... My house is NOT handicap friendly which is why I've been needing to move since the FIRST ankle gave out... I can't use a wheelchair here. The last time I used a knee scooter but even that couldn't come into my bathroom with me which is why I had to hop around on my left leg so much and destroyed the knee. At least then I HAD a good leg to do that with... But not this time. I can't hop on my bad ankle. I can't put all my weight on it. I can't use crutches in this house without them catching on every corner and God knows what and sending me crashing to the floor... There's no room at all for a wheelchair... I don't have a good leg to stand on. If this is, as I fear, the same thing happening AGAIN my only hope is to get my hubby to stop dragging his feet and sell this house NOW, get me into a better one ASAP so I'll even have a prayer of getting through this... And even beyond that I'll have to face the horrible fact that after working so hard to get my mobility back and finally getting to a point where I can at least WALK a 5k that all of that progress is about to be ripped away from me again for another few years of severe pain and limitation from which I probably won't even have a hope of ever coming back from to be where I am today. I'll be even worse off... With two bad ankles and at least one bad knee... At THIRTY-SIX YEARS OLD (in January; I'm 35 now).
I'm really hoping I'm wrong. I'm really hoping it's just a massive flare up of Fibromyalgia (that's lasted for weeks now) and will go away... I'd give anything for that. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm nervous now. If this had happened for only one day, or two, or even just a week I'd think nothing of it; I get random joint pains from Fibromyalgia all the time. But it's been going on too long now for that. It's the same pattern the right one followed right before it quit on me. I don't like to burden anyone with my troubles. I really don't. My whole life has been spent trying to make others happy. It's why I make art, it's why I fursuit. I want to see others smile. It's who I am. If I'm knocked down, I'll get back up again. It's what I do. It's all I know how to do and all I can do... But I know that sometimes positive wishes and prayers and good vibes and any of those positive kinds of energy can work miracles in ways we may never know or understand, and right now I need a little miracle... Just a small one to keep my good ankle good, to keep away any bone spur that may be lurking there ready to rip my world apart for a second time. Please... It's all I want for Christmas, a little good luck. Thank you very much for reading and for any good thoughts you might send my way. I truly appreciate each and every one, and love all of you for it.

Secret Santa Gift Art Exchange DEADLINE EXTENDED! :D
General | Posted 9 years agoSo I realized that I'm kind of a dummy and made the deadline for the Secret Santa Gift Art Exchange at a time and day that would conflict with my weekend trip to New York City, giving me no time to actually draw the names for it... LOL! XD SO, to remedy my boo boo I am extending the deadline to midnight on Sunday, December 11 instead! I will draw the names the following morning, December 12, so this will give everyone a few more days to sign up and get in on the fun! :D Here is how this will work again (in case you missed the last journal or need a reminder):
1. Comment below or note me letting me know you want to participate in the gift art exchange! PLEASE INCLUDE LINKS TO REF SHEETS OR CHARACTERS YOU WOULD LIKE DRAWN.
2. DEADLINE FOR ENTRY IS SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11 AT MIDNIGHT EASTERN STANDARD TIME. This will give everyone just shy of two weeks to work on and complete their art piece for their recipient!
3. The Secret Santas will be ANONYMOUS! This means NO ONE will know who they are getting their art from until they receive it! NO REQUESTS, NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. EVERYONE who participates MUST create a piece of artwork to gift to their recipient. First name drawn will make gift art for the second name drawn, second name drawn will make gift art for the third name drawn and so forth, with the final name drawn making gift art for the first. This way everyone gets gift art and no one knows who's getting who! I will then send a note to every Secret Santa with their recipient's FA/DA page and the links they gave me to their character references.
7. All digitally deliverable gift art, if at all possible, should be delivered on or as near as possible to December 24 (Christmas Eve) or December 25 (Christmas Day) and no sooner! After all, we're not supposed to open our presents until Christmas, right? Any gift art needing to be mailed can be sent as soon as the artist is ready; after all, shipping takes time, especially around the holidays!
8. Everyone squeals, dances, throws confetti, sings, shows off the gift art they got to everyone in the nearby vicinity, and basically proceeds to have the best holiday ever!
