Will be moving accounts!
General | Posted 14 years agoI know, I know... yes, AGAIN. :c
I'm gonna work up a fairly sizable journal and post it to my Tumblr (and possibly to the new account) -- and I owe my followers (and newest acquaintances who JUST followed me) an apology!
I plan to keep the Merrick account for... stuff, but I'm moving my primary account.
FA's Admins decided to accept my request and gave me:
tam!
That's right! No weird underscores or anything, no first name / last name stuff. Just plain old TAM. :D
...So follow me there, won't you? Please?
Pretty please? ;.;

Convention plans.
General | Posted 15 years agoI can't confirm yet I'll actually make it -- things are still being figured out -- but I'm hoping to be at AnthroCon this year. :)
Confused yet?
General | Posted 15 years agoHey all, Merrick here.
For most of the random folks that might stop by here, I'm new and you've likely never heard of me. That's cool - and nice to meet you. For a precious few, you might stop and think "Haven't I heard of / seen this guy before?" And I say to the both of you, yes. You probably have. Thing is, I came to an impasse with recent events.
Without explaining who I was known as before (because it doesn't really matter - I was never a popfur or infamous in the wrong circles or even known to lulz) the long and the short of it is that my online persona criss-crossed any number of fandoms and pervaded most every part of my online life. It even slipped out into real life a few times. I found that it was getting harder to compartmentalize the various aspects of my psyche and grew increasingly uncomfortable with it.
Then the drama surrounding the hacking of FA, and I pretty much decided "Screw it, I should do something about this." So here we are.
In short, I'm not running from anything. I'm not 'leaving the fandom forevers'. I'm just... changing names, and keeping my artistic side separate from other parts of my life. There's nothing wrong with that - just like there's nothing wrong with using the same name and identity in all aspects of one's life. This is just a change for myself, and one I'm happy to make.
Anyone who suspects they know who I was before, you're welcome to email me at merricknox [at] gmail.com or my previous email/im accounts and confirm it. ;) I'm sure a few who see this will ask "If it's not a big deal, then why make people jump through hoops? Why not just come out and say it?" - and to you folks I say “A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men.”
And to wrap up, I hope that wearing this little Red Panda mask will let me explore my creative side. Digital art, sketches, writings, maybe even a song cover or two (with the help of autotuning)... who knows? In the words of one Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise 1701-D, "The sky's the limit."
