Posted 16 years agoMe and a few friends were joking about the series. moreso in the end it's a lovey-dovey love story space opera with some action elements.
I mean, you have a giant ship that has a 400000000mm cannon that can probably take out saturn in one shot. Not only that but the ship can turn into a giant robot with even more guns. If that wasnt enough it has an airforce of jets that also turn into mechs and the ability to mass shoot missiles up the wazoo. sounds badass huh?
But do you know the real ULTIMATE WEAPON of this series is?

character ideas, sorta.
Posted 16 years agoI've always tried to make a character based on an existing idea or character from an official IP. Usually they arent as great as I try to make them but I think I finally got one or two.
A while ago I was in a go Nagai kick again. for a while I thought of making a new android character that could use Getter Robo's moves as her gimmick. I ended up with a non-canon (my story, not getter) character that used three power cores in her (two other cores from my other two androids) to explain why she has so much god damn power.
Basically she's my android Cherry with her features and the ability to use moves from Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Getter Robo, and Steel Jeeg. Also her clothing mimics the colors and design of Getter Robo's Getter-1.
for moves she can use...
Getter Robo:
*Getter Tomahawk (she can materialize weapons like cherry so an axe is no different)
*Getter Beam (powerful beam attack more useful against organic targets)
*Drill Arm: A drill gauntlet that allows her to use some moves based on Getter-2
*Stoner Sunshine (a super move from Shin Getter Robo) basically she tosses a small self-created star at an enemy which detonates on impact. :P
Mazinger Z/Great Mazinger:
*Rocket Punch: same as the drill gauntlet, these mechanical fist gauntlets can be launched like missiles and returned. silly but eh.
*Breast Fire/Fire Blaster: a beam attack that's more useful against mechanical enemies. the counter to getter beam. (I drew a joke image of cherry using that move)
*Thunder Break: finishing move for Great Mazinger. lighting strikes her finger and uses that stored energy to zap anything dumb enough to get too close.
Kotetsu Jeeg:
*Dynamite Kick: A powerful kick executed from the air.
*Jeeg Beam: a standard beam attack from the eyes. can cut through almost anything.
*Jeeg Breaker: A finishing move Jeeg executes. uses a magnetic field to draw the target close to her and she puts the target into a bear hug and crushes the target. more useful against other androids.
nothing for Grendizer :/ other than her ship which stores all of her weapons that she can materialize to her location. the ship itself is also a huge ion cannon.
ALSO images of this character exist, just not inked and colored. but I cant seem to find them 'A`;; I started on this idea months ago but didnt think it would be worth a damn. but orz.

Posted 16 years agoAn artist I know of who is getting the scam finger pointed at them reminded me of some stuff regarding commissions and professionalism.
Me and some friends usually talk about the stuff but I remember once a friend told me, "if you offer a service and fail to deliver that service in a reasonable time surprise, it's a scam."
I tend to agree with them on that. There are a lot of artists on here who want to become professional artists and make a living off of their art. Though a lot of them dont realise that there's a compromise when it comes to pro work. Something you hear comic artists whine about endlessly, and that is deadlines.
If you want to step out of the amature ring into the big money, you have to be a lot more serious about it. I know of artists who can make deadlines and still think of drawing as fun. but I know of a lot more artists who try and tend to choke. So they end up doing amature commissions (what most people do here, as there is more flexibility and direct pay rather than salary).
The only problem with amature commissions is that there are no guarantees. People should expect a delay in when they get what they pay for (if at all). You just have to trust the person, given you did research on the artist beforehand, etc etc. However, if you want to talk professionalism, you need to get things done in a reasonable amount of time. If you dont it'll only hurt you in the long run when a studio notices that you take 2 years to finish a bust image and inked only :P
I dont have much say in all of this, as I dont take commissions (for certain reasons). Most of what I said were from countless arguments over the years from others that seem to make sense to me.

Posted 16 years agoI suck at cheering people up. Honestly I wish I were more like a close friend of mine, she's always in high spirits and knows how to cheer anyone up.
Seems like the only thing I can do is just "be there" or draw them a pic. But to me, that doesn't seem like a lot/enough.

Posted 16 years agoI have no idea why people are still so drawn to Obama. I have been thinking about this for a while, but everything he has promised he blatantly lied about. He said that he would destroy the patriot act, he signed to have it extended. He said no lobbyists would be in the government, he manages to put them into all sections of the white house. Instead of pulling troops back out he throws more in. Hell he even put a CEO of the Federal Reserve (our central bank) as head of the Treasury department. Several other really questionable bills.
Anyways, I just don't trust the guy at all. He signed a lot of stuff that makes me a bit worried. Not to mention losing trillions of dollars to...where ever it went. Probably not just him but everyone in congress and the house about now. Some stuff he signed borders or even goes against the constitution. Some of it is downright criminal.
I know dissing Obama will get me booed or whatever. Do it if it makes you feel awesome but really, do some research. I bothered to look at the bills passed. Frankly it's worse than what bush has thrown out there.

Posted 16 years agoAs the title states. I havent drawn anything for a while due to me being in X3:Reunion 24/7. Finished most of the main quests. bala gi stuff first then the main story quests.

one part of the main quest. you are ambushed by waves of Kha'ak scouts/fighters. I thought I had everything under control but for extra measure I told my Hyperion (the ship in the green target box) to come to my part of the sector and attack all enemies. all hell broke loose after that and decimated most of them by itself. the ship I was in is an Argon Nova Vanguard, a heavy fighter.
